Chapter 2

Meghan walked back to the lounge, closed the door and blocked out the noise outside.

She made the decision to return to San Francisco and for marriage a little hastily and she needed to find someone to take over her business in Las Vegas as soon as possible.

After Meghan made phone calls all night to arrange follow-up work, she stared at the name of Shirley, the president of Blueming Entertainment, on the computer for a long time.

Her fingertips tapped quickly on the keyboard and sent the resignation notice to Shirley's email.

Even if she had to destroy the company founded by her, Meghan would never hand it over to Shirley, an ungrateful person.

After doing all that, Meghan stretched, walked out of the room and prepared to go see the sea view.

It was late at night and the cruise ship’s banquet hall was empty, as all the guests returned to their rooms to rest.

When passing by Arman's room, Shirley's clear and sweet laughter came from inside.

The door was ajar and Meghan glanced inside subconsciously.

Shirley was wearing a high-heeled tailored dress. Meghan recognized at a glance that it must have been given to her by Sean.

Sean had cooperated with that studio and Meghan asked him to help with the design drawings.

The design draft was drawn by Meghan herself. She originally wanted to wear it to Sean's award ceremony, but after giving the design draft to Sean, there was no response. It turned out that the skirt wasn’t not made, but given to Shirley.

Shirley noticed that she was being watched and looked outside the door, but pretended not to see Meghan.

She raised her little face with a few streaks of cream on it and smiled sweetly at Arman.

“Arman, you made a birthday cake for me yourself. Will Meghan be angry if she knows about this?”

She fiddled with the cake, turning it 360 degrees provocatively and showing it to Meghan who was outside the door.

“What a beautiful cake, Arman, I love it so much!”

After saying that, she kissed Arman on the cheek.

Sean pretended to be dissatisfied and acted coquettishly towards Shirley with moist eyes.

“Shirley, don’t you like the dress I gave you? It's a high-end piece that's very hard to get and you did not even praise me."

Shirley put her arms around his neck, kissed his face and said, “I like Sean very much, too.”

Sean’s face turned red in an instant.

Looking at the three people with pink bubbles in the room, Meghan sneered and walked away.

How could she not know that Shirley was deliberately trying to anger her? In the past, she would have succeeded.

In the past, Meghan was doted on by the two of them. How could she accept that they ignored her and showed their affection to Shirley who came later?

But that moment when Meghan has decided to leave, she would not be distracted by those trivial things.

From that moment on, she, Arman and Sean could at most be considered friends. As for choosing one to marry, let Shirley choose.

The next day, after handing over all company affairs to the General Assistant, Meghan returned to the villa and packed her luggage.

After that trip, she did not know when she would be able to return to Las Vegas, so she would just throw away all the things she did not want.

In the past, the three of them were inseparable and there was a room in the villa that Meghan used specifically to store the common memories of the three of them.

Meghan walked in and looked at every detail of what had happened in the past and could not help but feel as if she were in another world.

In the safe on the desk were locked the love letters that Arman and Sean had written to her. Every word was sincere and heartfelt. Meghan carefully collected them all.

Reading it again that time, Meghan seemed to still see the burning love in the boy's eyes when he handed her the letter.

There was also a can of twinkling stars on the windowsill, which were folded by Arman himself on Meghan's eighteenth birthday. The string of paper crane wind chimes hanging next to it was made by Sean, wishing her eternal brightness and freedom.

Meghan looked at the room full of memories and her heart felt filled with sadness.

It was over. It was all over.

The twinkling stars fell into the trash can and the wind chime was smashed to pieces.

Meghan absentmindedly threw all the love letters into the shredder. The flying pieces of paper fell into the trash can, burying everything.

When Arman and Sean came back, they were both stunned when they saw the things in the garbage bag at the door.

They squatted down, opened the garbage bag and looked through the contents without caring about their cleanliness.

Sean's hand was cut by the broken pieces of the wind chime, but he seemed to feel no pain. He staggered into the room carrying the paper cranes and looked at Meghan's busy back, a little dazed, “What are you going to do?”

Meghan did not even raise her head, tore off the group photo on the wall and threw it into the trash can without even looking at it.

“Clean up the room. It's better to throw away useless things so they don’t take up space.”

Arman rushed over in two or three steps and picked up the photo from the trash can. There was a stain on the photo, so he raised his sleeve to wipe it, but it became dirtier the more he wiped.

He looked at the photo with heartache and then looked around.

The room, which was originally fully decorated, had then returned to its newly renovated appearance.

“How can this be considered useless? Meghan, that is our youth and our memories. Don’t you want them anymore?”

Sean pursed his lips and stared at the empty room, feeling as if a piece of his heart had been dug out.

Looking at the two distraught people, Meghan could not help but sneer.

Didn’t they treat Shirley as a treasure and no longer care about her? Why were they pretending to be affectionate for those insignificant memories?

If they knew that she was going back to San Francisco for marriage, what would they think and what would they do then?

Chapter 3

Meghan glanced at the empty room and sighed meaningfully. “I just think that people can’t be trapped in the past and should move on.”

Arman hesitated to speak and finally nodded. “Yes, we should create something new instead of always remembering the old.”

Sean agreed, “It's been a long time since the three of us have traveled together. The day after tomorrow I'm leaving to record a variety show. Meghan, can you come with me too? Shirley is here too, I think there's a misunderstanding between you two, it's better to resolve it as soon as possible.”

Hearing that, Meghan frowned.

She did not even know what show Sean was going to record. If it were not for what happened that day, Sean probably would not have mentioned the variety show to her.

Seeing that Meghan did not say anything, Arman and Sean thought she agreed and smiled at each other.

“Oh, by the way, Meghan, why did not you go to work today?” Arman frowned, somewhat confused.

In his impression, Meghan is a real workaholic who puts her career first. That day was a working day, so why would she stay at home?

Hearing Arman’s question, Sean could not help but look at Meghan in surprise.

Meghan just said calmly, “I'm not feeling well. I won’t go today.”

Hearing that, a trace of concern welled up in Sean's eyes. Just as he was about to speak, Arman's mobile phone suddenly rang.

Shirley's sweet voice mixed with the sound of electricity came, with a bit of helplessness. “Arman, I have a stomachache. Can you come and accompany me?”

Arman suddenly became nervous. “What's wrong? Did you catch a cold or eat something bad? Wait, I'll be there soon.”

After hanging up the phone, Arman grabbed his coat and went out, followed closely by Sean.

Meghan was the only one left in the villa.

She was left alone by Arman and Sean again, but she was not upset at all, as she had long been used to it.

After throwing away the last bag of garbage, Meghan drove to the company.

Seeing Meghan, Raphael Franco, the General Assistant who was originally working in her office, immediately stood up in fear.

All work handovers were completed over the phone. Meghan had not shown up since the day before yesterday.

Meghan, who never disturbed employees' rest in the middle of the night, called him all night for the first time to arrange follow-up work.

Raphael felt a little unsure, as if something big had happened, but he did not dare to ask.

As if seeing through what Raphael was thinking, Meghan spoke calmly, “I'm going back to San Francisco to get married.

“I'm too lazy to move the Rollins Group's headquarters in Las Vegas to San Francisco, so I'll leave it to you from now on.”

Raphael was surprised, agreed and then asked tentatively, “Do Mr. Mccarthy and Mr. Haynes know about that? If they ask, I...."

Meghan was silent for a while.

“I don’t know for now. When I leave, tell them the truth. Before I leave, remember to keep it a secret for me. Just say that I'm not feeling well and that you can handle the work for the time being.”

Raphael was stunned for a moment, then smiled after coming back to his senses. “I understand, Ms. Rollins.”

After a slight pause, he sighed with regret as he stated, “Mr. Haynes and Mr. Mccarthy are both outstanding people. They treat you so well and think of you in everything. I originally thought that you would choose to marry one of them and stay in Las Vegas in the future.”

Meghan curled the corners of her lips and said, “There's nothing to regret. If it's not suitable, it's better to see it clearly as soon as possible.”

After instructing Raphael on some more things, Meghan packed up her personal belongings in the office and prepared to leave.

The silence on the floor was suddenly broken by a burst of noise.

The clacking sound of high heels and quarreling voices could be heard.

“Ms. David, you can’t go up. Ms. Rollins has ordered that no one should disturb us in the morning!”

Shirley pushed the secretary away, turned around and glared at her fiercely. “Get lost! I have to see Meghan today!”

As soon as she turned her head, Shirley met Meghan's calm gaze.

In the narrow and dim corridor, their eyes met and the ferocity on Shirley's face froze instantly, replaced by an expression that looked as if he was about to cry.

Chapter 4

“Meghan, I, I just feel a little aggrieved. Did I do anything wrong? How could you fire me without saying a word?”

Looking at Shirley's pitiful appearance, Meghan just felt disgusted.

“Do I need to explain to anyone the reasons for promoting or firing someone?”

When Shirley heard that, her eyes instantly turned red.

“Meghan, do you have some misunderstanding about me? Is it because of Arman and Sean? Are you angry that I stole their love?”

As she spoke, she took off her necklace and bracelets all at once, held them timidly and handed them to Meghan.

“I'm sorry, Meghan, these were given to me by Arman. I'm giving them back to you. Please don’t be angry, okay? Oh and...."

She took out a crystal trophy from her bag and knelt down in front of Meghan.

“That is Sean's Best Actor Trophy. I heard that he originally promised to give it to you. I'm going to give it back to you! Meghan, please, don’t make things difficult for me."

Shirley cried bitterly and her tearful accusations attracted the employees to look over.

Meghan was too lazy to talk nonsense with her and was about to walk around her and leave, but unexpectedly, Shirley suddenly pulled Meghan's trouser leg and the next moment, all the jewelry and trophies in her hands fell to the ground.

Bracelets and crystal trophies shattered.

Shirley fell weakly on the broken pieces, the shards of glass cut her delicate skin, bleeding profusely.

“Ah! Meghan, why are you taking revenge on me again? I have already given in to you, why are you still not willing to let me go?”

At the same time, the elevator door opened, Shirley's harsh accusation echoed, Arman and Sean walked out and happened to see all that.

“Shirley, are you okay?”

The two men's pupils suddenly shrank and they hurried forward, one on the left and one on the right, to help Shirley up.

Looking at the shocking injuries on her body, Arman and Sean felt extremely distressed.

Sean quickly took out his cell phone and dialed 911.

Arman stared at the mess on the ground with a gloomy expression, then raised his eyes coldly and looked at Meghan.

“Meghan, my patience with you is limited. When I saw the email you sent to Shirley in her mailbox this morning, I felt that you were targeting her. Now I see that it is true.”

“Can’t you tolerate her? Why did not I know you were so petty!” he scolded.

Hearing that, Meghan widened her eyes in disbelief.

Against her? Petty?

Why did not he, Arman, go and see what kind of state Blueming Entertainment, which she had handed over to Shirley, had become after being ruined by her?

“I have always handled official business impartially and have never been influenced by personal feelings. It is Shirley who is not capable enough. I cannot let her ruin my assets for fun!”

Meghan's tone was cold. “I did not hold Shirley responsible. I just removed her from her position. I have done my best.”

Sean hung up the phone and suddenly raised the volume as he yelled, “Then why did you deliberately damage the things we gave to Shirley? And you said you were not jealous.”

He pointed to the bloody debris on the ground.

“I want you to pay for the bracelet and the trophy and apologize to Shirley!”

Meghan was so angry that she almost laughed.

She pointed at the surveillance camera above her head and sneered, “Mr. Haynes, do you want to check the surveillance video before you speak? I didn't even touch your precious Shirley.

“She dropped the things herself and she was hurt on purpose. The surveillance video recorded it clearly!”

Sean suddenly grabbed Meghan's neck and threatened. “Do you think I'm stupid? Meghan, that is your Rollins Group. If you really want to frame Shirley, it's not difficult to cover up the surveillance. You are really a vicious person!”

His grip kept tightening, Meghan's face turned red and she struggled desperately. She was about to faint, so Sean shook his hand fiercely and threw Meghan into the pile of debris like garbage.

Meghan screamed in pain.

The employees wanted to help her, but were all stopped by Sean's bodyguards.

“I want you to suffer the same pain and injury that Shirley has experienced and I want you to pay it back a hundredfold!”

The ambulance arrived, Sean picked up Shirley and carried her horizontally and hurried downstairs with Arman.

The two of them never looked at Meghan again.

Meghan was lying in the debris, feeling excruciating pain every time she moved.

Raphael carefully helped her up and asked, “Ms. Rollins, shall I take you to the hospital?”

Meghan glanced at the cut on Raphael's palm.

“No, you go and deal with it, I'll go back first.”

Under the distressed gazes of the employees, Meghan gritted her teeth and left, returning to the villa in embarrassment.

Just as she had treated her wound, Arman and Sean came back.

Seeing the bandages wrapped around Meghan's arms, Arman pursed his lips and was about to speak when Meghan's mobile phone suddenly rang.

It was Meghan’s mother calling.

“Hey, Mom."

When she heard her mother's voice on the other end of the phone, a feeling of grievance suddenly surged into her heart and Meghan choked up.

Meghan’s mother immediately noticed something was wrong and quickly asked Meghan what had happened.

After adjusting her mood, Meghan calmly changed the subject to avoid her mother's questioning.

“I'm fine, Mom. I'm on a flight tomorrow afternoon, just ask my fiancé to pick me up at the airport. I need to discuss the details of the wedding with him.”

Hearing that, Arman and Sean looked at each other and frowned at the same time.

“Wedding? What wedding?”
