Chapter 2
In the middle of the night, the heat rose from the underground. Coupled with the wet machine at the head of the bed, the tempered glass was covered with a thin layer of steam.
I tossed and turned in bed and went to the toilet three times in a row.
Javion had to go to work tomorrow. I felt bad enough to wake him up in the evening to buy pizza for me.
On the way to the bathroom, no matter how much my stomach hurt, I tried to be walk as lightly as possible to avoid waking him up.
The third time, I put on my pants with trembling hands. At the sight of my pale face in the mirror, I felt so sad that I cried.
Hearing me crying, he ran to the bathroom in a hurry, picked up my face, and gently wiped away my tears with his fingers. He looked distressed.
"What's wrong, baby?"
"My stomach hurts. I think I have diarrhea."
"I told you that the pizza there is sordid. Don't eat it in the future."
I leaned against his shoulder in pain, my forehead covered in sweat.
I worked at the pizza shop during the summer vacation when I was in high school. I frequently bought pizza from there since my childhood.
The boss was a conscientious person from Acoby. He had never gone wrong in terms of ingredients. In order to keep the kitchen clean, he asked me to clean the tables dozens of times every day.
I grabbed Javion's arm, saying gently and weakly, "Javion, is there any antidiarrheal medication at home? Give me a pack."
Instead of agreeing to all my requests like before, Javion held my hand tightly and said, "It's not that I don't want you to take it, but you're pregnant now. Some medicine can't be taken."
"But... but if it continues to drag on, I will really die!"
"I'll help you lie down on the bed. You'll be fine after drinking some water."
"Is the child more important than me?"
I opened my mouth slightly, and my eyelashes fluttered. Tears fell to the floor, reflecting my pale and sickly face.
Javion did not compromise with me. He looked at me with a hint of impatience.
"I have to go to work tomorrow. Why are you making a fuss? You said you wanted to eat pizza in the middle of the night. I did as you said."
"Before that, I told you countless times that those food outside were sordid, and you insisted."
"You suffer now and are irresponsible to yourself and your child. I don't know what to do with you."
"You're not responsible for yourself. What does it have to do with me? Why are you dragging me down?"
I was helpless and disappointed.
This was the first time I had seen Javion so impatient. It was as if he had been suppressing it for a long time and could not hold back any longer.
When Javion calmed down and saw I cry, his tone softened.
"Bella, I'm a doctor of medicine who returned from studying abroad in Yhido. I cured auntie's illness myself. Don't you believe me?"
I shook my head and said, "I'm not doubting you. I just feel uncomfortable now."
Javion picked me up horizontally and gently placed me on the bed as if I were a treasure.
Then, he turned around and went to the kitchen to get me a cup of warm water. He rubbed his hands on my bulging belly.
After being woken up, the baby kept kicking back and forth in my stomach.
Javion looked so gentle. It could be seen that he loved the baby very much.
"Bella, look, the baby is kicking me."
My mind was in a mess. I kept wondering if the poster was Javion.
There would not be so many coincidences in this world.
I wondered starting from when the stranger added me on Whatsapp, but he/she seemed to be hinting at me in every way.
Seeing that I ignored him, Javion thought that I was angry.
Bending down, he was about to kiss me on the forehead to comfort me.
Subconsciously, I turned my head away and dodged.
An odd look flashed through Javion's eyes. Fortunately, he found a reason for me.
"I'm sorry, honey. You must be tired in the middle of the night. It's all my fault. Go to sleep."
Chapter 3
The next day, when I woke up, he had gone.
If I didn't figure out the truth, I couldn't be in peace.
It was getting cold today. When I opened the wardrobe to find a thermal underwear I bought last year, I saw a man's tie that I had never seen before lying in the corner.
I put the tie in my palm.
This tie was of bright pink color. Javion would never buy anything pink.
Lucy Smith, my bestie, opened the door wearily. Seeing me at the door, she was shocked.
"Oh my god, don't run around with the baby."
"What's the matter? I'll go to you."
I handed the bag in my hands to Lucy and said, "Javion bought some high-quality supplements. Since you're going to my hometown on this business trip, kindly take a box to my mother."
"There's another box. Give it to your parents."
Lucy was flattered, saying, "Javion is so good to you. The supplement is not cheap.
"But I'm envious of your good health. You can run as fast as you want even when you're pregnant.
"When my sister-in-law was seven-months-old pregnant, she said that she was exhausted all over and couldn't get up."
My left eyelid twitched. Feeling ill at ease, I recalled a sentence in the post.
I subconsciously became nervous, asking, "How did you know I'm in good health?"
She replied, "When your mother had the operation last time, didn't I ask you to do an examination to see if you had any genetic diseases?
"Now everyone is in sub-health. Only one out of 100 is healthy.
"And you are the lucky one."
My left eyelid twitched even harder.
My heart was about to jump out of her chest. The truth seemed to be coming out.
"Who else has read my examination report?"
Lucy was amused by my nervous look.
"Javion!"
Lucy smiled and said, "At that time, Javion joked that with your physical quality, your babies would be healthier than others."
I was sad.
What she said matched the content of the post.
"Could it be that the post was really posted by Javion?"
Seeing that there was something wrong with my face, Lucy hurriedly asked, "What's wrong with you?"
I waved my hand and said, "It's okay, it's okay..."
"I suddenly wanted to eat pizza yesterday and had diarrhea all night. I'm a little weak now."
Hearing this, she immediately became nervous and asked, "Is the baby all right?"
"Seriously, you're about to give birth, but you're so careless!
"What if there's something wrong with the baby?"
I suddenly looked up at her.
As my good friend, she didn't care about my health. Instead, she cared more about the baby than me.
She was even more concerned about the baby than me.
Glancing around, she looked a little flustered and said, "You're pregnant now, so you can't take medicine casually. I'll go and see if there's anything you can eat."
After she left the living room, I moved my butt and heard the sound of paper rubbing under my butt.
Something seemed to be hidden under the cushion.
I raised one end of the cushion slightly, lifted the cushion, and took out a pregnancy report...
In the column of the name, it was Lucy's name.
I suddenly remembered what was written in the post.
"My lover read her physical examination report, saying that she was healthy and fit for giving birth to my child."
"I don't think she will ever have a chance to come into contact with the upper class in her life."
"I married her because my lover can't have children."
The one that introduced Javion and I to each other was Lucy.
