Chapter 6

Ken handed the necklace to Lily anxiously.

"Tell me, Lily, did that madwoman cause you trouble again?"

Lily's eyes also turned wet, looking extremely aggrieved.

"It's okay. Violet just... cares about you too much. I can understand because I care about you too!"

Moved by her, Ken planted a passionate kiss on her lips.

Lily pulled his collar, leading him inside the door.

They fell onto the sofa, kissing passionately.

My heart was bleeding. In the place where I died miserably, my husband was entwined with another woman.

The pain was even more intense than the day I was cut into pieces. I wished I could strangle them.

After their passionate encounter, Ken dressed, his face filled with guilt as he caressed Lily's head.

"I'm sorry, Lily. I was too anxious. Don't worry. I will divorce her and marry you!"

I burst out laughing.

Divorce? Impossible. Because I've already turned into pieces of rotten flesh, and there's no way for me to go through a divorce with you.

I hope you two are well until the truth is revealed.

I want you to suffer a thousand piercing arrows and be tortured to death!

Ken kissed her goodbye reluctantly, and as he was about to leave, he frowned again.

"Lily, why does it still smell so strongly of blood here?"

Lily innocently pouted.

"I don't know. It's quite disgusting. But the rent here is about to expire, and I've already told the landlord I want to terminate the lease."

I sneered in my heart, "Are you afraid that if you continue to live here, you will be haunted by nightmares and vengeful ghosts?

"Are you, such a cruel person, also afraid of ghosts?"

Ken embraced her tightly as if he wanted to meld her into his body.

"Lily, I will be busy these next few days and may not have time to accompany you. Be careful.

"If that madwoman comes to find you again, call me immediately!"

I felt nauseous and wanted to vomit, but I had to witness all this.

Fortunately, Ken will soon find out that I will never come to find her again.

Chapter 7

Back at the station, Ken, with a stern face, handed his phone to Wade.

After seeing my reply, Wade let out a sigh of relief.

He told Ken that the DNA test results from the corpse had come back with no matches in the database.

Now, they could only send the fetus for testing, hoping to find the father.

Just as they were talking, the security guard at the door knocked to say someone had delivered a package for Ken.

The sender's column was left blank.

Ken took it and checked. It was a birthday cake.

Tomorrow is Ken's 28th birthday.

In front of Wade, he opened the packaging.

A foul stench wafted out, causing everyone present to retch.

Quickly, an officer stepped forward and scraped off the cream from the surface of the cake.

Inside was a terrifying skull.

My skull!

For a moment, everyone was on high alert.

Some rushed out, trying to find the courier who delivered the cake.

Unfortunately, the person had long disappeared.

Ken's eyes were slightly red as he bowed to my skull, put on gloves, and carried it back to the forensic laboratory.

It was pretty laughable. When I was alive, he called me disgusting and wouldn't even look at me.

Now that I'm dead, he's showing me respect.

Ken has always been competent at work, so it didn't take him long.

When my face was reconstructed, he stood there in a daze.

After rubbing his eyes several times, he made sure he wasn't mistaken.

He knew this face all too well.

He stumbled backward, knocking over quite a few things, surgical tools scattered all over the floor.

In the end, he slumped down and covered his face with his hands, tears seeping through his fingers.

He muttered to himself, "Impossible! How could it be you?

"Such a troublesome woman should pester me a thousand years. How could you die so soon? I haven't avenged myself yet..."

Wade was startled by Ken's state when he pushed the door open.

Seeing my expressionless head on the dissection table, he couldn't help but moisten his eyes as well.

The thin sheet of paper in his hand was also crumpled from being clenched.

He waited quietly until Ken had cried enough, looked up, and then handed the report to Ken.

His eyes were filled with sorrow.

"Ken, the DNA test results are out. The stillborn was... your child..."
