Chapter 1

I was four years older than Henry Sullivan. He pursued me for six years before I finally agreed to marry him.

He doted on me deeply and said he would only love me in this life.

But later, I overheard a conversation between him and his friends.

"Women start to look old once they turn thirty. No matter how pretty Sophia is, she'll still have fine lines around her eyes.

Now, I can't bring myself to touch her. She seems to be full of a stale. Unlike the wild and sexy vixens outside, who are both enticing and thrilling..."

Henry, once unfaithful, forever untrusted.

I wouldn't sacrifice my entire life for seven years of affection.

It was two o'clock in the morning when he returned home.

He looked at me by the bed for a while, took the cigarette box, and went out again.

Actually, I didn't fall asleep.

I got up and went to the living room. Through the curtains, I heard Henry complaining on the phone with a friend.

"Luckily, she's asleep. I was really afraid she'd ask me to sleep with her. I don't want to touch her at all right now.

Even if she's beautiful, so what? This woman starts becoming unpleasant and sickening as soon as she turns thirty.

Besides, I can't even take care of the sexy ladies outside, so why should I bother dealing with her?"

If I hadn't heard it with my own ears, I wouldn't have believed that such cruel words came from Henry, who had always doted on me.

We hadn't been intimate for two months.

Henry had been very busy recently, working overtime almost every day and occasionally having to go on business trips.

He said he didn't want to wake me up, so he just slept in the study.

I still naively thought he was concerned about me and being considerate.

Little did I know, he was just disgusted with me and no longer loved me...

While he was taking a shower, I looked through his phone.

Henry's cell phone password was my birthday, and it had never changed over the years.

At the top of his chat history was a cartoon cat.

Their dialog box was clean, with only one message that the other party had sent not long ago.

[I love you too.]

These four simple words made my hands tremble uncontrollably.

So, this was the sexy vixen.

I clicked on the other person's Instagram.

Her first pinned post turned out to be a close-up photo of her and Henry.

Although he only showed half of his face, I recognized him at first sight.

The girl wore delicate and youthful makeup, smiling with the corners of her eyes curved. Indeed, she was young and beautiful.

Her Instagram was quite active, with the latest post being from tonight at ten o'clock.

Two hands tightly clasped together on the white bedsheet evoked suggestive thoughts.

The ring on the man's finger was the one I put on Henry years ago.

I didn't have time to feel sad and quickly scrolled down.

On May 20th, she posted a bouquet along with a transfer record of 5,200 dollars.

[We're going to enjoy our intimate time tonight again.]

I recalled that on that day, I had arranged a candlelit dinner to celebrate the day with Henry, but he received a last-minute notice to go on a business trip out of town.

Seeing their frequent displays of affection left me dazzled.

At last, my gaze landed on April 1st.

The picture she posted showed her sexy collarbone with a fresh kiss mark on it.

[He's finally mine.]

I thought about it and realized that Henry stopped being intimate with me from that day onward.

I took photos of their transaction records and interactions for safekeeping.

Then, I put the phone back in its place and went back to the bedroom to sleep.

The next morning, I was woken up by Henry's kiss.

In my haze, I recalled what he had said the night before, and I felt a wave of nausea. I pushed him away.

However, he didn't notice anything strange about me.

"Darling, breakfast is ready, and it's all your favorites," Henry said, affectionately pinching my cheek. "I have something else to do at the company, so I'll be leaving now."

His voice was as gentle as always.

After Henry left, I looked at the hot food and milk on the table, and my thoughts drifted back to seven years ago.

The first time I met him was on the day he registered as a freshman.

His suitcase was knocked open by students rushing by, and the clothes and belongings inside were scattered all over the floor.

I helped him pack his luggage and took him to find the dormitory.

I thought our interaction would be brief, but over the next three months, I kept running into him around campus. Each time, he would sweetly call my name.

During a morning meeting, I fainted from low blood sugar because I had woken up late and skipped breakfast.

Henry was the one who carried me to the infirmary.

From that day onwards, he would wait with breakfast every morning outside my dormitory building.

My roommate sighed with envy, "He is both handsome and charming. Why haven't you been with him yet?

I shook my head, as I was four years older than him. I had no interest in a relationship with a younger man.

Later, when I graduated and started working, he would wait downstairs at my company to pick me up after getting off work as long as he didn't have classes.

On weekends, he would come to my rented house and cook for me.

Whenever I tried to convince him to give up, he would put on a pitiable expression.

"Sophia, please don't send me away. I just want to be good to you."

After six years of his efforts to please me, I finally succumbed and fell for him.

Henry once said that he would make breakfast for me for the rest of his life.

Look how thoughtful and affectionate he was.

His heart was no longer with me, but he still remembered the promise he made to me.

If it weren't for the sweet photos of him and the other woman in the album, along with the undeniable evidence of large transfers in screenshots, I would have doubted whether last night's revelations were just a nightmare of my own making.

That night, Henry surprisingly returned home on time.

Looking at the empty dining table, he was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "Let's eat out tonight. I know a trendy restaurant..."

I shook my head and interrupted him, "I've eaten."

Only then did he notice a bowl of leftover instant pasta on the table.

He pretended to be angry and said, "Eating junk food is bad for your skin. Aren't you afraid of turning into an old woman?"

I had just celebrated my thirtieth birthday, which indeed made me older in Henry's eyes, who was only twenty-six years old.

I smiled awkwardly and replied, "Well, if I'm old, then so be it. It doesn't really matter."

He smiled and put his arm around my waist, saying affectionately, "You're still my darling no matter how old you are!"

As he said that, he came closer and wanted to kiss me.

Sensing his intense desire, I calmly and subtly avoided his advances.

"I'm tired and not in the mood," I stated firmly.

Henry froze, clearly unhappy, but he restrained his temper.

While I was washing dishes in the kitchen, he received a phone call.

Then, he picked up the coat on the sofa and said, "There's an urgent matter at work. I have to go. Don't wait for me."

Chapter 2

After taking a shower and just as I was lying down on the bed, my phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.

I answered the call, but there was only silence on the other end.

I thought it was a prank and was about to hang up when I heard Henry's voice come from the other end of the phone.

"Just a day without seeing me, and you miss me already?"

The girl pouted, "It hurts me to think that you'll go back later and spend time with that old hag."

Then, there was the sound of heavy breathing from kissing.

Henry said in a hoarse voice, "I'm not going back tonight. Don't beg for mercy later."

They played in so many different ways and exchanged many flirtatious words, leaving me astonished and speechless.

Fortunately, I pressed the record button the moment I heard Henry's voice.

Later, I searched for this number on social software. As expected, it was the mistress, Sarah Miller, that Henry kept outside.

I casually clicked the follow button, and shortly after, she accepted my request.

It was evident that she knew of my existence and came just to show off to me.

As soon as I arrived at the company, I received a bouquet and a takeaway Henry ordered for me.

He called me.

"Darling, I've been called for a last-minute business trip. It looks like I won't be able to come back for the next few days. I've ordered your favorite sandwishes for you. Enjoy it while it's hot."

"Um."

After hanging up the phone, I casually looked through my Instagram.

Sure enough, Sarah also posted an update featuring a lavish breakfast, with a caption that read: [The person who prepares breakfast for you must love you very much.]

I once thought that Henry only loved me.

When my colleague saw the flowers on my desk, she was envious and said, "Where can I find such a caring and romantic husband?"

In the eyes of others, it may seem like I was reaching above my station by being with Henry.

He was young, hardworking, and had money and a promising future.

But I was also not lacking. During my time in school, I was the campus belle, excelled in academics, and graduated with top honors. After graduation, I secured a position at a leading company in the industry and steadily climbed the corporate ladder through my solid professional knowledge and hard work.

Seeing that she couldn't let go of the bouquet, I said, "If you like it, just take it with you."

Her face was full of surprise. "Ms. Wallace, you are not kidding, are you?"

I smiled. "Take it, and please throw away this takeout."

I didn't want this kind of hypocritical love.

From the frequent updates on Sarah's Instagram, I knew what they were doing these days.

Henry took her to Disneyland and watched the fireworks with her.

He even helped her rent an apartment near the university.

I felt neither anger nor sadness.

Instead, I kept all the evidence of Henry's infidelity.

When he contacted me again, it was on the evening of the third day.

"Darling, I found a restaurant that's pretty good. I'll bring you there next time."

I couldn't help but find it amusing. He had just finished dinner with the other woman, and now he suddenly thought of me. Should I even be moved by that?

Rather than exposing him, I pretended to be surprised and asked, "You're back in Hikshire?"

He paused for a moment and smiled, saying, "Not yet. It was recommended by a colleague, and I thought of trying it out with you."

"So when will you be back?" I asked.

His voice was a little excited. "Do you miss me? I'll go back tonight."

I simply hummed in response.

In fact, during the time when Henry was on the so-called business trip, I had already moved out of the house.

I still had a small apartment in the city, which was a graduation gift from my parents.

So when Henry returned home excitedly but didn't see me, he became somewhat annoyed.

"Sophia, what time is it? Why aren't you at home?"

"Well, I'm on a business trip," I said.

He gritted his teeth and asked, "Why didn't you tell me this morning?"

Well, if I told him in the morning, he might keep accompanying that woman for a few more days.

"I was just assigned to go on a business trip this afternoon."

He sighed and asked, "Can you come back tomorrow night?"

"Why?"

"Charles is having a birthday party and invited us for some drinks."

I said calmly, "Tell him that I can't go."

"Mmm." Henry's voice didn't reveal any emotions. "Let me know in advance when you're coming back so that I can pick you up."

"Okay."

That night, Sarah took the initiative to send me a photo.

It was a stuffed bunny on my bed.

I suppressed my disgust and took out the divorce agreement that I had prepared long ago. I read through it again and made some modifications.

The following night, she sent me another photo.

It was a picture of Charles with a group of men and women. It seemed that Henry had taken her to attend the gathering.

Then, she sent a provocative message.

[You really know how to endure, huh?]

I sneered, grabbed my bag, and walked out.

Henry, I wondered what kind of expression you would have when you see me later.

Chapter 3

At the bar, I went to the restroom to touch up my makeup.

Regardless of the situation, it was always important to maintain a good appearance.

Just as I applied my lipstick, a girl burst into the restroom in a rush.

She slipped and nearly fell.

Instinctively, I reached out and grabbed her.

She patted her chest and thanked me like a frightened deer.

It was her.

I narrowed my eyes slightly.

It was Henry's mistress.

She looked at me for a moment and said, "Miss, your lipstick color is so beautiful."

I never posted selfies on Instagram, and my profile picture was a scenic image. It was no wonder she didn't recognize me.

She enthusiastically started chatting with me, saying, "I came here with my boyfriend. Are you here with your boyfriend too?"

I shook my head and replied, "I'm alone."

She winked at me and said, "Well, Miss, you better be careful. You're so beautiful that you might attract the attention of some big oafs."

I tucked my long hair behind my ear and replied, "Thank you for the reminder."

Her gaze fell on the bracelet on my wrist, and her eyes lit up.

"Woah, Miss, your bracelet is so beautiful! Where did you buy it? I want to ask my boyfriend to buy me one too."

Indeed, she was a lively and sweet-talking girl. It was no wonder Henry was obsessed with her.

I took off the bracelet and said, "I'll give it to you, then."

She looked flattered. "Really? Miss, you are so kind!"

"Well, I'm tired of wearing it."

Unsuspecting, she put the bracelet on her wrist and fiddled with it.

The bracelet was quite expensive. Henry bought it for me with the first money he earned.

I had been wearing it for five years.

Now that I threw away the thing I once treasured, I realized that there was actually nothing that we couldn't let go of.

Sarah seemed really happy, showing off the bracelet in front of the mirror and taking various selfies.

I left the restroom quietly.

At the door of the private room where they often gathered, I heard the conversation coming from inside.

"Henry, you can have fun, but why did you bring your mistress here?"

Henry's voice sounded somewhat helpless. "She insisted on coming, and I couldn't do anything about it."

"You just spoil her, don't you? Be careful not to get caught cheating by Sophia!" Charles said.

Henry fell silent for a moment before chuckling. "Who wouldn't like a lively and lovely girl? Besides, Sophia is already in her thirties."

My fingers curled slightly.

There was a time when Henry would hold me carefully in his arms and sincerely say, "In my heart, you will always be the most beautiful and lovely girl. I promise to be wholeheartedly devoted and love only you."

At this time, Sarah came back from the restroom. She was a little surprised to see me and said, "Miss, we meet again."

As she spoke, she pushed open the private room door, rushed in, hugged Henry's neck, and pouted, "Henry, look! That pretty lady gave me a super beautiful bracelet..."

Henry's originally doting smile froze when he saw the bracelet that Sarah showed off to him.

He then looked up in panic, and our eyes met as I leaned against the door.

Almost at the same time, he pushed away the girl who was hanging on him.

"Sasa, you go back first."

He called her so affectionately.

The atmosphere in the private room was extremely depressing for a moment.

Charles and his group looked at each other, and he spoke up to smooth things over.

"Sophia, this is a misunderstanding. Please listen to Henry's explanation."

I looked at Henry with a smile.

He whispered to the girl beside him, "Why haven't you left yet?"

She was also quite interesting. After knowing my identity, she didn't run away. Instead, she huddled behind Henry like a frightened cat.

She looked at me, appearing flustered and lost, but her eyes revealed a hint of satisfaction and cunning.

It seemed that I underestimated her.

Maybe she had already seen my photo on Henry's phone.

Just now, she deliberately went to the restroom and staged a chance encounter with me.

"No need to leave. Ms. Miller and I have known each other for a long time, haven't we?"

I raised my eyebrows and looked at Sarah.
