Chapter 3

My father is an undercover reporter. After two years of secret investigation, he finally exposed the Disability Admirers Organization, a group composed of influential individuals who were fanatically obsessed with the disabled.

Because each member in their organization had camellia tattoos, they were also known as the "Camellia Organization."

They had a distinct aesthetic preference for physical disabilities and some even went to extreme lengths, causing harm to healthy individuals. Their minds were deeply twisted.

Due to the substantial and authentic evidence my father collected, once the case was exposed, it gained significant attention from society.

Although these individuals faced punishment in the end, my father unexpectedly fell seriously ill just two months after the exposure of the case.

The police station spent a lot of effort to protect my brother and me, and we had always kept a low profile.

Until a month ago, Yara leaked my information.

Yara was abandoned by her birth family due to their preference for sons over daughters. Stella, Stella, rescued her and treated her kindly, but Yara was never satisfied.

She coveted everything of Stella's, including my brother Gael, and she saw me as a thorn in her side as well.

On the eve of Gael and Stella's wedding, Yara planned an accident that led to Stella's tragic death, injuring her own leg in the process. Only I was unharmed.

As Yara lay on the hospital bed, her face pale, she threw herself into Gael's arms and sobbed. In just a few words, she shifted the blame for Stella's death onto me.

"Gael, my sister is dead, and it's all Rose's fault. She killed my sister!

"Before the car exploded, we could have escaped together, but she ran away on her own and locked the car door. Stella desperately tried to get me out. Gael, I hate it so much. Why wasn't it me who died?"

Gael suddenly looked at me with fierce eyes.

His face was full of anger, his eyes seemed to emit fire, and his expression was more ferocious than ever before.

I spoke in a restrained tone, trying hard to hold back my sadness. "I didn't! She's slandering me! You don't believe me?"

He said calmly, "Yara wouldn't lie."

"So I would?" My emotions plummeted like falling into a bottomless abyss.

Back in high school, when my classmates accused me of stealing money, Gael stood like a sturdy pine tree, shielding me. He firmly said to the teacher, "My sister doesn't lie. If she says she didn't steal, she didn't!"

But now, between Yara and me, he believed that I was the liar.

At that time, I felt extremely disappointed and angry. I confronted Yara head-on, attempting to make Gael see her true nature, but he increasingly sided with her.

He kicked me out of the house, declaring that Yara was his only sister. And at Yara's request, he even taught her bone sculpting.

A month ago, Yara's biological father tricked her into the Disability Admirers Organization. By chance, she discovered that the people inside intended to target the children of their enemies. However, they couldn't find any leads except for a photo of the enemy couple.

Yara claimed that she could create an approximate likeness of their children based on the appearance of the couple.

So she reached an agreement with the Disability Admirers Organization.

During the process of sculpting, whenever Yara encountered something she didn't understand, she would call Gael, and he would help her with patient guidance. Little by little, that plaster replica started resembling me more and more.

Instead of being shocked when she realized that the killer was likely after me, Yara developed evil thoughts. She wanted to use the Disability Admirers Organization's hand to make me disappear forever.

After leaving the organization, Yara staged her own kidnapping.

In the final shot, I saw her throw herself into Gael's arms.

Gael held her tightly, his voice trembling as he said, "I'm glad you're safe, otherwise I would not have any sister."

But my brother didn't know that while he was teaching Yara sculpting, my life, his blood-related sister whom he hated and resented, was about to end.

Chapter 4

My brother was going back to celebrate Yara's success in the postgraduate entrance examination, so I had to follow him.

Maybe in the next second I would disappear and never saw him again.

I watched as he patiently communicated with the florist, carefully selecting a bouquet of flowers that Yara loved.

Then, I saw him in the jewelry store, meticulously choosing a necklace for her.

I followed him home and saw Yara's face light up with joy as she gratefully accepted his gifts.

As they prepared to have dinner, Yara held Gael's hand, her eyes glistening with tears. "Gael, is Rose really not coming back? On such a joyful day, I want us to celebrate as a family. I want to receive her congratulations."

Gael faltered for a moment, but he quickly composed himself and gently reassured Yara, patting her shoulder. "No, she won't be missing out. I'll contact her now, so you won't have any regrets."

He walked into the bedroom and sent me a voice message with a cold face.

"Rose, if you don't come back to celebrate with Yara today, I will consider you dead!

"If you come, you are still my sister!"

My beloved brother, who pushed me away and disowned me while I was alive, only reached out to me years later for Yara.

But he had no idea that I was already dead.

I was admitted to graduate school, but I didn't receive any gifts or even a simple greeting from him.

Yara carefully opened the door and gently asked, "Is Rose unwilling to come?"

"Forget about her!" Gael's face darkened. "Having her here would only ruin our mood!"

Yara looked sad. "But no matter what, she is your sister. Although she did something wrong, we should give her a chance to change."

Yara said this sincerely, but I just felt extremely ironic when I looked at her.

Gael ruffled her hair and reassured her, telling her to go downstairs to the supermarket to buy drinks.

As soon as Yara left, Gael called me. He called five times in total, but there was no answer.

He didn't show any signs of worry or anxiety about not being able to reach me. Instead, he seemed to grow impatient with each unanswered call.

After a while, Larry called Gael, his voice filled with urgency. "Gael, there's another case of a body being dumped by the Disability Admirers Organization! The location is near the police station. They're getting more audacious. You need to watch out for Ro..."

Before Larry could finish speaking, Gael hastily ended the call and dialed Yara's number.

The phone rang twice without any response. Worry and concern filled his face.

When the doorbell rang, he stood up instantly, rushed to the door, and his frown relaxed. But when he saw it was the delivery guy, his smile stiffened a little.

"Hello, this is a package sent by Ms. Rose Xavier. Please sign for it."

Gael quickly signed his name on the express delivery note, threw the package to the ground, and ran to the supermarket downstairs in a panic.

I watched all of this with a cold gaze, feeling a chilling emptiness inside, as if a gust of wind had passed through.

I floated to the doorway and crouched down, trying to hold the package close to my heart but failed.

It was a tie that I had carefully chosen with my first paycheck.

Gael and I made an agreement that we would buy each other gifts when we earned our first money.

But he didn't need me as his sister anymore. He had forgotten about our promise, and of course, he wouldn't accept my gift because it didn't matter to him.

Chapter 5

In the next two days, Gael treated Yara like the apple of his eye, fearing that she would be in danger.

Larry, who wanted to know how I was doing, got annoyed by my brother's ignorant attitude.

He said worriedly, "Rose has been out of touch for so long. You should go and find her. I'm not going to persuade you to reconcile, but just make sure she's okay."

My brother's face darkened when he heard this.

"Larry, Rose has done unforgivable things. If she knew she was wrong, she wouldn't have repeatedly targeted Yara. She is someone without manners and with a cruel heart!

"I feel guilty towards Yara. I must take good care of her. Rose will bully Yara again if she comes back!"

He sneered. "Don't worry, someone who ran away at the first sign of trouble, how could anything happen to her? The people who are with her might be in trouble instead."

He continued to speak, his mouth opening and closing.

I listened for a long time, so long that I couldn't hear his voice anymore. My mind drifted away, far away to the point where I couldn't recall what his last kind words to me were like.

Then the call between my brother and Larry was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Mr. Xavier, there's a package for you. It's quite heavy."

Gael took the package with a puzzled expression and placed it on the floor. He picked up a pair of scissors to open it.

I stared at the box, and my heart beating faster and faster.

There were still bloody marks from my fingerprints on the bottom of the box.

Before I died, I watched the murderer put the photos of me being abused and my severed hand into it.

He handed the cardboard box in front of me and said with a taunting and sinister tone, "This is a gift for your brother."

As Gael began to open the package, I couldn't control my trembling.

"Gael, soon you will know that I truly didn't deceive you." I silently repeated these words in my heart.
