Chapter 1
The criminals hiding in the cruise ship killed me and hid me in cold storage.
Later, they disguised themselves as tourists and held an ice cream party.
At the party, when Sebastian Fuller was kissing his first love, she smiled and asked him, "Your wife is also on this cruise ship. Aren't you afraid that she will find out that you are having an affair?"
Sebastian smiled faintly, his tone filled with indulgence.
"She's not important. Even if she died, I wouldn't shed a tear. But you are different..."
He hugged the woman and continued affectionately, "You are my life."
For three whole days, he indulged in a sweet flirtation with his love on the cruise ship, unaware of the passing time.
On the fourth day, Sebastian didn't see me and sent me a message with a frown.
"Where did you go?"
No one replied to his message.
Just three days ago, as they were being intimate, his wife was murdered and hidden in the cold storage unit behind him.
Sebastian and I had another argument, and the silent treatment lasted for a whole two weeks.
I want to go on one last long-distance trip with him before getting divorced, trying to recapture the passion we had when we first got married.
Unexpectedly, he told me he wanted to take his first love with him.
"Nicole has wanted to go to the beach for a long time. She also likes cruises. We'll take her along on this trip," Sebastian said calmly.
It was not asking but informing.
I was tired.
In the past six months, every argument and cold war we had was because of Nicole Griffin.
She completely captivated Sebastian's attention when she returned from overseas.
He stopped picking me up from work to have dinner together, ceased accompanying me for shopping, and even lacked the patience to wait for me to get a manicure done.
The message he sent me every day was that he'd be working overtime.
Those messages pushed me further and further away.
I had confirmed with his company's employees that he had never worked overtime those days. Instead, he left early every day, even before the end of work.
It was obvious who he went to see.
Even this time, I wanted to have our last intimate cruise trip together, but he had to bring Nicole.
I looked at him quietly.
Even though I remained silent, he didn't notice the slightest unusual of me. He kept his head down, engrossed in his phone, occasionally flashing a gentle smile.
Suddenly, I felt that everything was so dull.
"Whatever. You decide it. I'm tired."
Then, I got up and went to the guest bedroom.
There was still no response from behind.
I chuckled with self-derision, a bitter taste lingering in my mouth.
I couldn't comprehend the reason why I was desperately holding onto this marriage.
When I reached the bedroom door, I halted.
Finally, I made up my mind, turned back, and said, "Sebastian, let's get a divorce."
He didn't give any response.
He stood up wearily, rubbing his temples, and was nonchalant as he said, "Avery, stop being silly.
It was you who said you wanted to go on a cruise trip with me. Now that the tickets have been purchased, you're saying you want a divorce and don't want to come.
Even if we get divorced, let's discuss it after the trip."
After saying that, he walked into the study.
I knew that he must have gone to make a video call with Nicole again.
Three days later, Sebastian and I boarded the cruise ship in total silence, completely ignoring each other's existence.
Only after Nicole boarded the cruise ship did a faint smile appear on his face.
He reached out to take Nicole's luggage, asking, "Why did you bring so much stuff? Did you pack a bunch of delicious food and fun things?"
She laughed carefree, playfully leaning towards him, and said, "You know, I'm a foodie, and I can't live without delicious food.
Moreover, since I finally got to go on a cruise trip, I had to wear pretty dresses. You better take lots of pictures of me later!"
Sebastian smiled and rubbed her head. "Go in and check your room."
Nicole smiled shyly at me and greeted me, "Avery, I might trouble you and Sebastian to take care of me during this period."
Then, with Sebastian's urging, the two of them left one after another.
Bitterness spread within me.
Sebastian was so warm and friendly towards others. However, he must have noticed that I was still holding onto my luggage.
I sighed deeply.
Carrying the heavy luggage alone, I made my way back to the room assigned on the cruise ship.
The room was dark, and I tried to turn on the light but found it was broken.
Just as I was about to turn around and find someone to help, someone covered my mouth from behind.
I panicked and tried to scream for help.
However, I was swiftly silenced by the criminals who had been hiding on the cruise ship without hesitation.
As I took my final breath, I happened to see Sebastian holding Nicole's hand, happily touring around the cruise ship, engaging in conversation and laughter.
Chapter 2
After my soul left my body, I witnessed the masked criminals who had killed me skillfully hiding my body away.
They had eliminated all traces of their actions.
The cruise ship's freezer was filled with ice cream.
In order to better conceal me, they informed the organizers of the cruise ship party that in celebration of the upcoming departure, there would be an ice cream party.
Upon hearing about the ice cream party, Nicole jumped up in excitement.
"That's great! I love ice cream..."
She was so excited that she lost her balance when she jumped up and almost stumbled.
Sebastian reacted almost immediately and rushed forward to catch her around the waist.
"You've grown up so much, yet you still act like a child.
If I weren't by your side, you would have cried if you fell."
Although his tone carried a hint of helplessness, it was full of doting.
As I floated around them, I couldn't help but be stunned by what I saw.
Sebastian used to speak to me with the same gentle tone a long time ago.
But I didn't know when it had changed.
All his energy and attention were shifted to Nicole.
In the past, I never believed in the saying, "When the ex cries, the current one loses."
But now, I had suffered a crushing defeat.
It was strange. I raised my hand and wiped the water off my face.
Why would a ghost cry?
I struggled several times, only to realize that no matter how hard I tried to float away, I couldn't escape from this cruise ship.
Perhaps it was because my body had been frozen, making it impossible for me to drift away.
Those criminals placed my body in the cold storage unit for over half an hour. Even my spirit was enveloped in the chilling cold.
I couldn't stop shaking, and frost slowly formed around my hands and feet.
It felt as if I had returned to the coldest winter three years ago.
In order to beg for mercy from Sebastian's enemies, I knelt in the snow for three days and nights.
Later, the other party was moved by my sincerity and spared him. They even provided him with partial financial assistance when his company faced bankruptcy, helping him make a fresh start.
After that, my legs started to suffer from coldness.
He held me in his arms with red eyes, knelt on the ground, and said devoutly, "Avery, I will never let you down."
On the thought of that, I couldn't help but smile bitterly.
I was already dead, and Sebastian remained unaware of it.
He continued to be immersed in the happiness of being with Nicole, laughing and talking together, unaware of the passing time.
The ice cream party attracted almost all the passengers on the cruise ship.
Someone suggested lighting up the dance floor.
All the young people who wanted to dance could choose their partners and join in for a dance.
Nicole and Sebastian were the last couple to go up.
She wore a cute dress, and her graceful dance moves made her look even more beautiful.
Sebastian held her tightly with one hand while his other hand lightly rested on her waist. They gazed lovingly into each other's eyes, their expressions filled with a hint of intimacy.
I recalled the past when Sebastian had physical contact with other women due to his social engagements outside.
I happened to see it, and we had a big fight when we came back.
I blamed him for not having clear boundaries with others.
After listening to my outburst in silence, he softened his tone and apologized to me, "Avery, I promise to be more careful next time. Without your permission, I will make sure not to touch any other woman, not even a handshake. Is that okay?"
But now, it seemed that all those promises he had made back then had been forgotten.
Or maybe he did, keeping his distance from any woman as promised.
However, Nicole was the exception.
They finished the entire dance together.
Then, thunderous applause followed.
The passengers below the stage praised them, saying, "What a lovely couple they are! They dance so well!"
"This young couple are so perfectly matched and loving. It reminds me of my husband and I when we were young!"
"I wish them to be together forever!"
Those words reached their ears.
Nicole blushed and looked up at Sebastian timidly.
At first, Sebastian was slightly taken aback, but he didn't offer any explanation. Instead, he smiled and silently acknowledged it, walking off the stage hand in hand with Nicole.
Chapter 3
In the midst of the lively party, Nicole suddenly grabbed Sebastian's hand and pulled him outside, hiding in an inconspicuous corner of the party.
She took the initiative to tiptoe and gently rubbed her nose against his.
"What should I do? I really wanted to kiss you just now."
Sebastian was slightly stunned.
Then, he chuckled.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and said, "If you want to kiss me, then kiss."
Without waiting for Nicole to take a move, he took the initiative and leaned down, pressing his lips against hers.
They embraced tightly, sharing a passionate kiss.
Their entwined tongue and passionate embrace made them appear as the most affectionate couple in the world.
Sebastian's breathing became increasingly rapid, while Nicole found it hard to catch her breath from the intense kissing.
She finally released Sebastian and giggled as she asked him, "Your wife is also on this cruise ship. Aren't you afraid that she will find out that you are having an affair?"
He smiled faintly, his tone full of doting.
"She's not important. Even if she died, I wouldn't shed a tear. But you are different..."
He hugged her and continued affectionately, "You are my life."
After saying that, Sebastian kissed her again.
For three whole days, he indulged in a sweet flirtation with her on the cruise ship, unaware of the passing time.
"I've heard that the moon looks especially beautiful from the cruise ship. Will you accompany me to see the moon tonight?"
He didn't hesitate at all.
"Sure."
Sebastian, with his first love, had just sat down to enjoy the view of the moon.
At this time, a piercing alarm suddenly echoed throughout the cruise ship.
Everyone was on alert, gathering together without knowing why.
"What happened?"
"The alarm suddenly sounded. Is there any danger on the cruise ship?"
After the alarm stopped, the staff on the cruise ship made an emergency announcement.
"Attention, please.
We have unidentified individuals on board this cruise ship. In order to prevent harm, we kindly ask all passengers to stay together with your companions and not to wander alone!"
Immediately afterward, the three-day ice cream party was called off.
The staff on the cruise ship had serious expressions as they conducted a personnel check.
People around realized something was wrong and started discussing it.
"Look at this situation, someone must have had an accident."
"I heard from my sailor friends before that whenever an ice cream party is held on a cruise ship, it's likely that someone has been killed and their body hidden."
Some timid passengers instantly shrank back in fear upon hearing this.
"Seriously? I'm easily scared, please don't frighten me!"
A sense of fear and anxiety enveloped the entire cruise ship.
Nicole frowned tightly, and she subconsciously moved closer to Sebastian's arms.
"What should we do, Sebastian?
Are we so unlucky?"
Just as I thought it was going to be a lovely cruise trip, something like this happens!"
Sebastian's gaze remained fixated on Nicole from beginning to end.
Seeing that the person in his arms was scared, he held her hand tightly and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Soon, the staff on the cruise ship approached Sebastian and began asking questions while taking notes.
"Sir, are your family members all with you?" the staff asked.
Sebastian held Nicole's hand tightly and said without hesitation, "Yes."
The staff looked up at him hesitantly, repeating the question to verify once again.
"You have no other family members scattered, right?"
Sebastian nodded affirmatively.
