CLAIMED BY THE DEMON KING: DARK ROMANCE
She thought she had everything.
A fated mate. A future. A home.
Until it all came crashing down.
He came back with another woman. A baby in her belly.
And just like that, Elara was nothing.
Framed for a crime she didn't commit, the only end for her was death.
But fate isn’t done with her yet.
A stranger steps out of the shadows.
Not just any man—the Lycan King.
Feared. Hated. Untouchable.
Part demon. Part vampire. Part wolf.
He doesn't save her, he claims her. Offers her a deal she can’t afford to refuse:
Be his Luna for one year.
She should’ve said no.
But he’s cold fire and temptation wrapped in darkness.
And when he touches her, it’s not just her body that trembles—it’s her soul.
Now, she’s trapped between two monsters:
The mate who wants her back…
And the king who never plans to let her go.
🔥 Sneak Peek – Elara’s POV:
“Tell me to stop,” he growled, his breath hot against my lips. “One-word, little wolf, and I’ll Walk away.”
My heart pounded so hard I thought it might crack my ribs.
I should say it. I should.
But then he touched me—just a whisper of skin against skin—and the air vanished from my lungs.
My mind screamed this is a mistake.
But my body… my body had already decided.
I leaned in, drawn to him like gravity itself had shifted.
“I hate you,” I breathed, and it came out too soft, too broken.
He gave me a look that made my knees weak. Dangerous. Hungry.
“Then hate me,” he murmured, brushing his lips over mine, “while I make you forget every reason you ever did.”
001| The Day My Mate Choose Another
~Elara~
The letter trembled in my hand, feeling heavier than any letter had the right to be.
I had practiced what I would say so many times, that I lost count on my way to his office.
This revelation was going to be difficult for both of us, but we still have each other.
But then I heard the voices.
Muffled and distant at first, until I heard the words that sliced through the still air, sharp as a blade.
“What do you mean you can’t tell her? I am not going to raise this baby in secret.”
It was Calistra’s voice.
My footsteps slowed, and my heart began pounding furiously.
This must be a misunderstanding. They are talking about something else, they had to be.
But then I heard Lucien's voice, low and unmistakable.
“Calistra, that child is as much mine as it is yours, but it’s too early. I just returned to this pack 2 days ago after being away for months… I can’t break the news to her yet. Give me some time.”
I froze.
His child?
I couldn’t breathe. My world suddenly blurred.
My hand on the doorknob trembled. Ney, my wolf stirred, as the feeling of fear and unease washed through us.
I pushed the door open. My stomach churned.
Calistra was sitting way too casually at Lucien's desk, and he was standing in front of her, his body half turned.
His eyes widened when he saw me. He quickly stepped away from her, as though she burned him.
“Elara—”
I looked between them, feeling the room spin under my feet.
“What baby?”
Oh Goddess, let this not be true.
“Luna Elara.” Calistra’s voice sounded deceptively gentle.
My eyes settled on the woman whose voice sounded too polished and controlled.
She was the healer that Lucien had brought home with him.
At least that’s what he said she was.
“Can someone tell me what the hell is going on here? Lucien?”
Lucien swallowed hard; his eyes narrowed. “It’s not what you think, I—?”
“Is it not? "What is it then?” My voice cracked.
I saw Calistra shift behind him. The soft expression that was once on her face was now replaced with a dark look.
“I’m sorry so Luna,” she murmured, “You must believe me, we didn’t plan for things to turn out this way. But I am pregnant now.” Her eyes were wailed up with tears, as perfectly as a rehearsed performance.
She’s admitting her pregnancy.
A tear rushed down my face before I could stop it, and more followed. I turned to him, and I felt my heart tighten.
“Is the baby yours?”
“I—" He trailed off, his shoulders falling slightly.
My wolf, Ney, howled inside me.
I took a step back, my hands flying to my lips, as my sobs cracked through the air like thunder.
“How—" My voice was barely a whisper. “How could you, Lucien? After everything….”
Here I was rejoicing that my husband was finally back after almost 4 months of being away, fighting a war at the Pack borders, and now this?
He moved fast, looking so desperate. “I didn’t mean to hurt you; it was a mistake...”
“A mistake? "It wasn’t a mistake when you were sleeping with me, or was it?” Calistra was very angry, and even though her voice was low, we heard her clearly.
Lucien gritted his teeth, “It shouldn’t have happened, Calistra; we were both drunk that night.” Lucien growled. His jaw was tightly clenched.
He turned back to me urgently, grabbing my face between his palms.
“Elara, I never wanted this. We got carried away after a major victory. I don’t remember it clearly. I swear by the moon. I love you Elara, please.”
But the damage is done. It’s too late.
She is pregnant.
I stared up at him, the man who was supposed to be mine alone.
‘You have already hurt me.’ I wanted to tell him that, but my throat felt so dry.
I swallowed the bile rising in my throat.
“So, what are you going to do about her pregnancy?”
He hesitated. He was silent, long enough to give me hope.
Then, his face hardened.
“I— The baby is mine.” He turned away, “I have to take responsibility for it.”
My heart dropped. I stepped back.
“The Pack needs an heir,” he added, his tone softer now.
As if that made it right.
As if that made me disposable.
Ney went silent.
I stared at him. Lucien, my mate, my husband.
I had always believed he would do anything for me, even if it meant burning down the world.
Yet, he stood there like a noble fool, defending another woman.
The same woman who now had a smug expression on her face, obviously enjoying how everything was turning out. The woman who was trying to steal my life.
“So, you are choosing her.” My voice was barely above a whisper.
I wish I would just wake up and find this to be a nightmare.
Lucien ran his fingers through his hair, like he was the one in pain. “It’s not that simple—"
I threw the letter I’d been holding into his chest. He caught it, confused.
“I was pregnant too.”
The room immediately fell silent. For a moment, I saw the smug expression on Calistra’s face falter.
Lucien blinked. His lips parted, but no sound came out at first. His hand twitched by his side.
“What?”
I didn’t repeat it. I couldn’t even if I wanted to.
The words felt like blood in my mouth.
“I was pregnant.” I said again, this time louder, as though it would reduce the pain.
He quickly opened the envelope and pulled out the contents. My ultrasound results.
His eyes flickered. Shock. Guilt. Regret.
My hands subconsciously moved to my stomach. I couldn’t help but notice how painfully empty it felt after that day. Even Ray could hardly bear the loss.
“It was three moons ago.”
Calistra’s face turned pale, and Lucien's face was blank at first, then he stepped back as the truth burned him.
“You…... why didn’t you tell me?”
I choked. “I never got the chance to. "You were gone before I found out.” A tear finally rolled down my face.
His face twisted; his shoulders slumped.
I laughed bitterly. “I woke up in the middle of the night. My stomach was on fire. "I thought I was going to die from the pain.” I choked.
Lucien took a slow step forward. “Elara—"
I shook my head. “The healer said it was a miscarriage, maybe stress or some internal imbalance. It was strange, the baby was healthy.”
I saw his eyes now, mine burning. “But now I know the truth.”
Lucien's face paled instantly. Panic flashed across his face.
“It was the moment you betrayed me, wasn’t it?”
He staggard back, like I had slapped him.
Calistra looked away, a bitter look on her face.
My body trembled, suddenly feeling weak.
Lucien stepped forward gently, reaching to touch me. I recoiled.
His voice broke. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”
“No, you didn’t care…. You—"
Suddenly, everything became blurry. Just before my legs gave way, I saw her smile.
I collapsed then, but I didn’t hit the floor.
Someone caught me.
002| Luna No More
~Elara~
~Elara~
Pain greeted me first as soon as my eyes opened.
I stirred, still feeling very disoriented.
The thoughts of what happened came to mind, but I wasn’t sure if what had happened was real, or just a dream.
But then, I heard the whispers flow in.
‘Did you hear? The Alpha now has an heir,’
‘It is with the woman he returned with.’
‘The Luna heard it and almost lost her mind. 'She fainted.’ Yet another said.
‘Poor thing…. She couldn’t even give the Alpha an heir.’
‘She has locked herself in for days now, I feel sorry for her.’
The words felt like daggers, piercing through my chest.
I hate my ability to hear further away than normal werewolves, especially on days like this.
I blinked twice, trying to adjust to the lightening. I don’t know how long I slept, but my head was throbbing with a headache. The ache in my heart made me even more aware of everything that had happened.
The door opened after that, and Mia, my assistant, stepped in.
Her eyes brightened as soon as she saw me.
“Luna, you are awake. Thank goodness.”
“Mia, where is Lucien, how are things going out there?” My voice was hoarse and tired.
She sighed.
“Luna, things are not looking good. After Alpha announced the pregnancy, horrible rumors began to spread.”
My heart slammed into my chest.
So, he had made the announcement already.
I clenched my fists, biting down on my lower lip to keep my sanity. “Where is he now?” My voice trembled a little.
Mia bowed slightly; her voice gentle. “He is presently in a meeting with the elders.”
My throat tightened.
Probably planning my replacement.
My fists tightened. “Who carried me back yesterday?”
“Beta Kyle.”
So, it wasn’t even Lucien.
My body shivered slightly. The ache flared into a rage.
“I need to see him now.”
Mia’s eyes widened slightly.
“Luna, I don’t think that’s a good idea—”
I ignored her and got straight into the bathroom to get ready. I needed to know what he was trying to do, why he was doing this.
As we got outside, the pack members greeted me, but it was not the same.
I could feel the detachment in their voices; I could still hear their whispers in my head.
Just as we approached his office, someone opened his door and stepped out.
Calistra.
Her eyes widened, and then a smirk appeared on her face.
“Luna Elara. Thanks to the Goddess you are okay.”
She sounded too sweet, too perfect.
I tried to ignore her and headed towards his office, but she caught my hand.
“Please let me apologize. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.”
Her nails dug into my skin. Her gaze was steely, not sorry in any way.
I yanked my hand free from her hold.
She stepped back, and then whispered with a sweet smile: “Luna, you should rest. This situation could really get worse. I’d hate to see you lose everything.”
My heart skipped a bit and I blinked.
Did she just threaten me?
I wasn’t sure.
Before I could say anything else, she leaned closer, her lips barely moving.
“Word of advice: reject and leave. Or I’ll make your life miserable.”
My wolf snapped at that.
Ney surged forward instantly. In a blink, I shoved Calistra back against the wall. It wasn’t too hard, but it was enough.
Everyone gasped. The sound echoed through the hallway.
I froze.
I saw the shocked expressions on their faces. Which turned judgmental.
Calistra fell on her knees, cradling her belly, as she let out a pain-filled growl.
A panicked voice came from behind me.
“The Luna attacked her!”
My heart tightened. “What—?
Calistra’s face was pain-stricken. I didn’t push her that hard.
"What the hell is going on here?"
It was Lucien.
He brushed past me like I was invisible, and rushed to Calistra’s side.
“She… she tried to hurt the baby.” Calistra whimpered instantly. “I— I just wanted to apologize.”
She was lying, that’s not what happened.
I stepped forward. “That’s not true. She threatened me—”
For the first time, Lucien's eyes snapped to mine.
They were dark and hard.
“Don’t you dare lie to me Elara, everyone saw it.”
My chest caved inward at his words.
“You believe her over me?” My voice was barely a whisper. I still can’t believe it.
He didn’t answer, instead he threatened.
“If anything happens to my son—” his voice was tight with pain and rage, but his gaze flicked to me, his jaw tightening. “Don’t make me choose.”
My mouth went dry.
I couldn’t speak, couldn’t bring myself to say anything else.
He turned, scooped her into his arms and carried her away.
I didn’t miss the smirk on her face. Ney whimpered.
003| The Crown, the Council, and the Poisoned Lie
~Lucien~
I could hardly catch my breath.
It all felt as though the walls of the council chamber were closing in on me, drowning me into a darkness I still cant fathom.
The twelve elders of the Pack sat at the table, all looking grim. These were the men who had watched me grow into the man I am today, their Alpha. They had fought to protect this Pack beside my father. They protect the interest of the Pack.
Yet, I can barely restrain myself from snapping their necks. Every word they said right now made my blood boil.
“You have to take responsibility, Alpha.” Elder Garrick’s voice was grave. “Lady Calistra carries your child. We cannot have two Lunas in one Pack, it is impossible.”
My jaw clenched, as I leaned forward. “Elara is my mate, my wife. I am not going to abandon her.”
Elder Malric who was the oldest of them all, snorted. “She is your wife, and yet she failed to give you an heir for three years. But, just one encounter with Lady Calistra, and she is already pregnant.”
My heart tightened. I clenched my fists. “Mind your words, Malric. She is still your Luna.”
Elder Zara spoke up then. “Alpha, we know you love your wife, but this is no longer about love, it’s about the survival of this Pack. The Star Night Warriors has warriors that are twice our number. We will be inviting bloodshed on our hands if we dishonor their Alpha’s daughter.”
“I didn’t dishonor her,” I growled, gritting my teeth. “It was one night; it was a mistake.”
The elders exchanged disapproving glances. “It is a mistake with consequences, Alpha.” Garrick’s voice was much calmer now. “Lady Calistra is still pregnant. The Star Night Pack would not accept anything less than a Luna title for her. It could also give us benefits, like an alliance with them. It will be good for the Pack.”
My head pounded. I am sure I am having a headache coming on. My wolf, Rion, growled restlessly within me. He too was not taking this well.
“I am not going to accept that.”
“You do not have a choice Alpha, its either that or we step in.” Malric’s eyes gleamed. “This Pack needs an heir, and without one, you’re easily replaceable.”
Replaceable?
The word punched all the air out of my lungs.
My thoughts spiraled out of control.
Elara. I couldn’t hurt her again.
I can still remember her tear-streaked face from last night. The shaking of her voice when she whispered about our miscarriage child. I was not there for her, I failed her too many times.
I rose to my feet, the chair screeching harshly behind me. “You will do no such thing. I decide what happens here.”
The elders bowed, but I could see the disapproval on their faces.
“We heard the Luna tried to harm Lady Calistra.”
I froze.
“She must not be harmed. Anyone who dares to hurt her will face punishment directly from us. Even if it is the Luna herself.” Malric’s voice sounded cold in the already tense room, sending it several degrees colder.
I clenched my fists. “You wouldn’t dare—”
“Our duty is to protect this Pack and its heir. Do not make us go against you.”
I shut the door to my office behind me.
For a moment, I struggled to even find my own breath.
Punishment from the elders directly? That would be worse than death itself.
Every breath I took suddenly felt like dragging chains. I walked to the window, trying to focus on my breathing, to regulate it, but the room felt too stuffy.
The Pack needed an heir. The Elders were determined to draw blood if they had to, to make it happen.
Elara.
She was probably still curled up in bed, hating me. I had broken her beyond forgiveness. But I still miss her.
I want my mate so badly. But she won’t want to see me, not after the pains I caused her.
I saw how she looked at me in the hallway when I picked Calistra up. She hated me now.
A sudden knock came, breaking through my line of thoughts.
Calistra stepped in.
I tried my best not to growl in irritation.
“Lucien, I wanted to thank you for helping me earlier. You were gone before I could. I heard you were in a meeting.”
I regarded her with silence, not trusting myself to speak for fear of snapping.
She, however, was not ready to regard my silence. She stepped in without invitation.
“You look so tense.” Her sweetness sounded feigned, not as Elara’s smoothing.
I looked at her. She wore a silk robe. Her long brown hair curled around her shoulders like they were its home. I looked away from her.
“It was a rough meeting.” I managed.
Suddenly, her hands reached up to my shoulders and began to massage. I stiffened.
“Relax Alpha, let me help you.” She purred.
Her touch didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel like Elara’s.
Rion rumbled uneasily too.
“Calistra, you—”
“Relax big guy.” Her breath fanned my neck. “You are stressed out. Let me take care of you.”
Her hands trailed down my body, trailing lower. My skin crawled under her touch.
“Let me help you relax.”
I caught her wrist before she could move further, my hold gentle but firm.
“No.”
She frowned. “Why, it’s not like we haven’t done it before?”
I sighed. “You are pregnant, and this is inappropriate.” My voice was tight. I was barely holding on.
Calistra pouted. “That’s unfair.”
I didn’t respond but stepped away from her.
It was obvious she didn’t like that. Her face darkened murderously…... and then, she forced a smile.
“This is hard on you, I get it. But think about the good part in all this. My father would be happy, you will have kids, lots of them if you wish, and a powerful Pack with my dad’s alliance.”
My heart tightened. Stop.
A soft knock interrupted us before I could respond. Elder Garrick and Malric entered.
It took everything in me not to groan from frustration. They were clearly making their point.
“Alpha.” Even their greetings felt like a forced courtesy.
But when they saw Calistra, their coldness disappeared. They bowed to her; with the same reverence they would have given to Elara.
“Lady Calistra, you look as lovely as always.”
Whether that was fake or true, I didn’t bother to check. I called in a servant to serve us all coffee while we discussed whatever they had to say.
Minutes later, a maid walked in then, balancing a tray in her hands.
She bowed slightly. “Your Coffee, Alpha. And Herbal tea for Lady Calistra.” She went ahead to serve the elders too.
I muttered my thanks, slipping into my seat, grateful for the distraction.
But just as she set the cups down, I noticed her hands trembling.
I tried not to think much about it, and sipped my coffee.
Calistra reached for her tea, lifting it to her lips, but then—
CRASH.
I turned sharply. The ceramic glass was now shattered across the floor, tea splashed everywhere.
Calistra screamed. I jumped to my feet immediately. “What the hell—”
The maid had slapped the cup from her hands, shattering the glass.
The maid dropped to her knees immediately. “Alpha, I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”
She was afraid, trembling from head to toe.
Great. I am already in a bad mood, and everyone is just going to make it worse?
“Is this how you do your job? You should be punished severally for this.” It was Elder Garrick’s voice.
Tears rushed down her face as she shook her head frantically. “No please—” She trailed off, choking.
“Luna Elara asked me to poison Lady Calistra’s tea. She wants her dead.” Her voice shook. “But I couldn’t do it, I swear I couldn’t bring myself to harm the Pack’s future heir.”
Calistra staggered back, her hands flying to her mouth.
My heart slammed in my chest. “What?”
“This is the second time already. Luna Elara is trying to kill the future heir of this Pack. Alpha, she must be punished for this.” The urgency in Elder Malric’s tone filled me with dread.
But I stood there frozen.
No. Elara wouldn’t do that. She couldn’t… right?
But I could see the maid’s fear, feel her panic. It was too real to be a lie.
My heart pounded. I had just begun doubting the one I swore to protect.
And suddenly, I don’t even know who the enemy was anymore.
“Alpha, we must—”
“Do not do anything; I will be the one to punish her.”
004| The Space Between Us
~Elara~
“Luna, the rumors are getting more intense, everyone thinks you are crazy now, what should I do about it?” Mia, my assistant and the only friend I had in the Pack, asked me with a serious look on her face.
I took a deep breathe. “Just let it be, rumors are bound to dissipate quickly.”
Her jaw dropped. “Luna, I…… I don’t think that is a wise idea, that woman is really cunny, I have no doubt she is the one doing all these. Just give me your command and I will have everyone spreading these rumors punished.”
I sighed. As tempting as the idea sounded, I wasn’t sure it was going to solve anything. It had more tendency of making the matter a lot worse than it already was.
Mia sighed when I didn’t respond and ranked her hand through her hair. “On a serious note, Luna, how are you handling it?" Mia’s voice was calm, and I could hear the pity in her voice. I shook my head. I don’t want anyone’s pity, but Mia was different.
She was in the same predicament as I now was, or even a worse fate.
Her husband found his fated mate, and she was living with her husband and his fated mate.
Her husband, Kyle who was also my husband’s beta, refused to reject his fated because he knew it would weaken his wolf.
He made Mia agree to it, and she has been miserable ever since then, only working herself to stupor.
"You need to be brave, Luna, stand up for yourself. This woman won’t stop until she has ruined your home completely like mine did. My bed has been cold for years now. Now they have pups, and it is almost as if I am not in the picture." She said and sighed deeply.
Even though she claimed she was over him, I could still feel the pain in her voice, see the pain in her eyes.
"We will be fine. I hope he gets to realize his mistakes soon."
Even I didn’t believe my own words, because these past few days, I had been forced to see the possible reality of a future without my mate.
"How do you manage Mia?" I couldn’t help but ask, she was literally the bravest she wolf I had ever met. She laughed.
"What can I do? At least he claimed his fate, so neither of us feels pain when they are together again. I just find a way to make myself happy with flings and affairs.” She shrugs.
“No one ever really sticks around, and even though they claim to love me, they never try to challenge the Beta. So, I just enjoy the affair and move on," she acted as though she was used to it.
"Does he know?" I asked, and she laughed.
"He doesn't care, Luna. They stop caring and getting jealous once they claim their fated mate. At least yours is a fling, maybe there is hope.”
My heart clenched. A picture of a cold faced Lucien not even reacting when I am with another man, sent a painful feeling through me.
Suddenly, my door was pushed open, hardly. Lucien walked in. He looked…… furious.
“Elara, how could you?”
I was clueless, but his cold cruel question and expression sent hot and cold shivers down my spine.
Mia noticed the tense atmosphere, and quickly excused herself with a curt bow.
As soon as she disappeared from the office, I took a deep breath and turned to face Lucien, who was almost exhaling smoke of fire.
“I don’t know what you mean.” My voice didn’t shake, thank goodness.
His narrowed, as his Adam apple moved, up to down. “Don’t you dare pretend you don’t know what am talking about Elara. I warned you that the next time you try to hurt her, I wouldn’t hesitate but punish you.”
I raised a brow, a scoff escaping my lips despite my shocked state.
“So, this is about Calistra, what other lies is she feeding you this time?” I folded my hands under my chest and stared him down.
“Lies? I saw it with my own eyes. You sent someone to poison her and the person even confessed to it. You dare try to harm the future heir of this Pack Elara.”
I gulped down my own spit. “I did? Well, that’s new. Who is this person I sent to poison her if I may ask?”
Mia hasn’t done anything yet, and she wouldn’t even stoop that low.
“Don’t pretend you know nothing about it, I can’t protect you this time around. You have to be punished for this.”
My jaw dropped. Was this really Lucien or was this an imposter?
I slowly got to my feet, my heart pounding in terrifying speed. “You are going to punish me, for something you have no evidence about, just because some stupid person testified that I sent her. Are you even listening to yourself?”
For a moment, something soft flickered in his eyes, his eyes narrowed. He looked away.
I almost thought that he was going to say something reasonable this time around.
“I have all the evidence I need Elara; everyone knows how crazy you’ve become for these past few days. I think you need time to rest and reflect on your actions as the Luna of this Pack.”
“What does that even mean?” My heart was tightening with every word he said.
“You are temporary dismissed from your office until further notice Elara. Take this time to think about all the wrong you have done, and know your place.”
My heart slammed in my chest. My eyes burned with unshed tears. How could he say something like that to me?
“You don’t have any right, I am as much as the leader of this Pack as you are. You can’t dismiss me from office.” Goddess why does this hurt so much.
His eyes darkened slightly. “I am your Alpha.” I could feel his alpha aura rushing out of him. Even though it was almost pushing me to submission, I held up against it.
“Half this Pack belongs to me; it was a gift my parents gave me before they passed away.” I don’t know why I am reminding him of this, but it clearly made him even more angry.
“It was merged the day we got married. I am the Alpha of this Pack now; you all listen to me.” He drew nearer with every word he said, I subconsciously took a step back. When did he become like this? It felt as though someone was piercing my heart with thousand needles.
Everything felt so choked up, the pain rushing through my veins with every breathe I take.
I walked across from him and ran out of the office. My tears were threatening to fall, and for one thing, I didn’t want him to get a glimpse of my tears.
I don’t know how long I ran, but I shifted to fur and continued running until I was far away from the Pack house, and right on a cliff.
I shifted back to skin, and threw on the cloth I had removed before shifting.
I stared down at the beauty of the greenwood beneath the cliff. The cliff was high up, and for a moment I wondered what would happen if I took one more step forward.
Lucien has never been this mean to me, how could someone change so much just in a couple of weeks?
He had been my first love, my one and only love. And now, I was already struggling for a place in his heart. Maybe Mia was right, maybe there was no hope.
I took another step forward, just one more step. Will it be worth it?
“Hey, if you really are going to jump from there, I think now will be the right time.” A deep male voice echoed from behind me.
I turned sharply, and my jaw dropped. “What the hell?”
005| The Cliff, the Curse.... and the King
~Elara~
All my life I had never seen someone as beautiful and yet so manly. He stood tall and strong, his aura was something I have never felt before, so strong and enchanting.
“You should really jump now if you are done staring.” He sounded nonchalant, and it took me a moment to stop listening to the sweetness of his voice and focus on what he was actually saying.
I blinked. “I beg your pardon?”
He smirked, showing his priceless pearly white teeth. “I mean no offence, but the wind hasn’t gotten so strong. If you jump now, you will definitely…… you know, end it. But if you wait more, I won’t guarantee the end. The wind from this point is usually so strong, it might carry you off to safety if it starts. You don’t seem that heavy anyway.”
My jaw dropped.
I tried to say something, anything at all. But my brain seemed too shocked to even make a simple statement. Even my wolf, Ney, was already screaming at the back of my brain.
“What…... what did you say?” I still couldn’t believe his approach. “Is that how you talk to people you are meeting for the first time.”
His eyes twinkled slightly. Was that amusement I saw in his eyes?
He shrugged. “Well, if that person is about to take her own life, then why be polite?” His lips curved upwards, and my heart skipped a beat.
‘Damn… he is gorgeous.’
I searched my head for something to say in return, but words failed me. He just got me at the neck point. I gawked at me, both in surprise and amazement.
“Who are you, I don’t think I have seen you before?”
For truth I would know if someone like him was a part of my pack. He clearly was too powerful for that.
His smile broadened. “I don’t think an introduction matters, unless you’ve changed your mind, to…. You know…. end it.”
Why did he keep saying ‘end it’ like it was the most normal thing in the world?
Well, technically it is…. but still……
I looked him down. He had a crazy white hair, very unnatural for our kind, and he felt different like he was a different being, but yet he felt so much like one of us. His pupils were strangely blue, and yet it felt so familiar in a strange way, as it seemed to be staring deep into my soul.
“So, are you going to jump now or do you need help?”
I blinked. “Really, are you kidding me right now?”
He shrugged again. “This could be your last chance, before I fully abolish any rights to, you know—” He gestured towards the cliff.
“But word of advice,” He took a step closer, or maybe many steps closer. I couldn’t keep up, because he was too fast, and in an instant, he was standing before me, pinning me down with his hot gaze.
“You should really consider if jumping now is really worth it. I don’t know why you thought this is a good idea, but that only makes you weak.”
My breath hitched. “I am not.”
He smirked, gently leaning closer to me, until our lips were almost touching. He was too close that if I leaned in a little, I would be touching his lips.
“This doesn’t have to end this way; I can help you.” He whispered lightly, his hot breath fanning my neck. I suck in my breath, my heart pounding hard.
“How?” My voice came out almost in a whisper, I almost feared he didn’t hear me, but he smiled.
“You will know soon.” He said, and just like that he was away from me.
Suddenly, I was yanked out from the cliff and was safely brought to a level ground. I found him hovering over me with that crazy smirk.
I stared into his sea blue eyes, lost in the mystery that hid behind that allure.
His lips, thin and slightly parted sent crazy feelings through me.
I could hardly breathe or think, and for a moment I almost wondered how it will feel if he touched mine.
“My king, we’ve been looking for you.” A voice called out suddenly behind me.
I turned and saw a strange looking man with red hair and crazy golden iris. His head was slightly bowed.
Just then, his words hit me like a rocket. Did he just say My king?
I looked up at the man standing before me, and quickly took a step back.
“King, as in the King?”
The other guy looked at me as though I was crazy, maybe I really was for not recognizing the Lycan king of the werewolves.
The one who everyone dreaded.
The one whose name I dare not call.
The Demon King.
I expected him to get angry that I didn’t even recognize him, but he only smirked.
“Guess that introduction wouldn’t be necessary anymore. See you soon, Elara.” With that he turned and walked away, the other guy following him.
Wait, how did he know my name?
My heart pounded but not from sadness anymore, but from something else I dare not mention.
The Demon King as was popularly known as, is a tribreed.
Maybe that was why everyone feared him, or the mere fact that he could make anyone and even an entire pack disappear without a trace.
He was an original Lycan, half vampire and still had Demon blood running through his veins.
Goddess, this is not good.
“Luna Elara!!”
I turned to see the bulk of our Pack warriors surrounding me. I frowned.
“What’s going on?”
Kyle, Lucien’ beta stepped forward. “You have been ordered to return to the Pack.”
“What?” You have got to be kidding me.
His face held no emotion at all. “Please comply with us, we have been authorized to use force if need be.”
Okay now I am really confused. “What nonsense are you spouting?” He took a step closer, his face dark with seriousness that scared me. “Don’t you dare take a step closer.”
Kyle paused lightly, but then his eyes darkened. He turned to the warriors and called out in a high command laced tone.
“The Luna has lost her mind and have attempted to kill the future heir of the Pack. We are to return her to the Pack house and keep her on lockdown. This is the Alpha’s command.”
The whole warriors bowed and then they began to match towards me.
“Run…” Ney whispered to me; I could clearly hear the panic in her voice. “This is no time to freeze Elara. Run, now.”
