Chapter 1
On the day my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I quietly deleted the test report and told him that it was just a mild cold.
That night, my husband ran towards his lover excitedly.
After I found it out, my husband knelt on the ground and begged for my forgiveness.
I held his hand and said, "It's okay. Just forget about it."
Later, my husband lay on the hospital bed, dying.
But his lover left him.
I was the only one who didn't leave or abandon him.
"Don't worry, my dear. I will definitely accompany you well until the last moment of your life."

It was a complete surprise to know that Alberto Fletcher had early-stage gastric cancer. At that time, he had just returned from a business trip and immediately ran to the bathroom to take a shower.
The medical examination center couldn't contact him, so it called me.
It turned out that some time ago, Alberto's company had a routine physical examination, and Alberto paid extra for a cancer screening.
I didn't expect that he would actually be diagnosed with early-stage gastric cancer.
I was shocked to hear the news. He was only in his early thirties. How could he get the cancer?
I asked the doctor to keep it a secret. After all, there was still a chance of cure in the early stages. I was worried that when he heard the diagnosis, he would have a psychological burden, which would affect his treatment.
In just a few minutes, I was even considering whether to go abroad for treatment. At this time, Alberto came out of the bathroom and saw me holding his phone.
He had been sleepy, and suddenly became tense.
"What are you doing?"
I was startled by the sudden roar.
I pouted a little unhappily.
"Just now, the medical examination center said it couldn't get through to your phone, so I wanted to see what was going on. Why were you shouting so loudly?"
Alberto was obviously relieved.
With a wet body, he hugged me from behind and apologized softly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I just forgot to turn off the airplane mode when I got off the plane."
I left his embrace calmly and looked into his eyes. There was really no trace of lying.
He said he forgot to turn it off after getting off the plane, but he actually was still on the phone when he arrived at the doorstep.
Such a poor excuse and excited reaction implied he was hiding something.
"Oh, by the way, what did the doctor say?" he asked.
I also shook my head and lied.
"Nothing. The doctor told me to tell you that your physical examination is fine, except for a cold. The cancer screening is also with no problem."
"Really?"
I nodded with absolute certainty.
Alberto's brows raised with joy, and he hugged me tightly again.
"I said that doctors outside the hospital should not be trusted. He took my pulse and said I might have cancer."
So that was the reason why he suddenly wanted to do a cancer screening.
Alberto felt a sense of excitement as if he had survived a catastrophe.
He took out a bottle of good wine from the wine cellar and said he wanted to celebrate it.
He had just been opened the bottle when his phone rang.
I accidentally glanced at the caller ID, which was Lily.
He went to the balcony to answer the phone and then came back, looking a little hesitant.
Finally he picked up his coat.
"Dear, there's something urgent going on at the company, and I need to handle it."
Whatever it was, it was too hasty.
I gently grabbed his sleeve.
"The wine is ready. Can't you stay?"
Alberto pinched my cheek, using a coaxing tone.
"Be good, this is really important. I'll come back as soon as I'm done, okay?"
"Then I have something important to tell you now."
I resisted and didn't let him go.
Chapter 2
He was a little unhappy with my pestering.
"Bella, be obedient!" Now that he said that, if I didn't let him go, I would seem very immature.
"Okay, go ahead." Half an hour after Alberto left.
The doctor sent the physical examination report to my email, and told me to take him to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible, otherwise if he reached the late stage, everything would be over.
I opened the email.
After seeing the confirmed diagnosis, I silently deleted the email thoroughly.
I made a phone call to someone I trusted in the company.
And she told me that a month ago, a new intern named Lily Camille was recruited to the company.
Soon after she worked there, she was able to go in and out the president's office freely.
That staff also sent me Lily's address.
Garden One.
In an area where every inch of land is costly, how could she, a newly graduated intern, afford to live in such a place? I felt more and more uneasy.
I picked up the car key.
And I went to Garden One.
When I arrived at the gate of the community, I had already thought of an excuse to get the security guard to let me in. But after seeing the license plate, he let me in without asking any questions.
Alberto and I took turns driving the cars in our house, so it seemed that he had really been here.
The community is composed of townhouses, with wide views everywhere.
Except the townhouse in the corner.
It was in a hidden place and away from the magnolia that Alberto hated.
Sure enough, I saw the car he drove away outside the villa.
I hid behind the greenery.
On the windowsill, light and shadow are scattered.
The two bodies intertwined. They were kissing passionately.
The window was not closed tightly.
With the wind's help, I could even hear their sweet words.
"Little fairy, you really make me unable to leave you for a day."
"Alberto, if you are like this, what should Bella do?"
"Do not talk about that rigid old woman when we're together."
Lily smiled happily.
"Alberto, you are so bad!"
...
That night, I stood outside for a long time.
I didn't leave until I saw the sunrise.
During this period, Alberto took the time to send me a message.
"Honey, go to bed early. I may not be back tonight."
I read the cold words in the message no less than ten times.
I tried to see a hint of guilt.
However, reality woke me up.
Because at noon, Alberto sent another message.
It was to inform me that he was going to have a business trip.
The powerlessness and dull pain of being cheated on broke me down.
I squatted in the corner and cried for a long time. I finally forced myself to calm down.
In fact, there were traces of his abnormality.
The day before my birthday, I found a platinum necklace in Alberto's pocket.
The pendant was a little bear holding a heart.
I was ignorant at the time and took the necklace, asking him if it was a gift for me.
Thinking about it now, Alberto's eyes at that time were filled with a little embarrassment.
That was right. How could such a youthful and playful design be given to a boring and rigid old woman like me?
I found the necklace in the jewelry box.
If looking closely, I could see that the heart can be twisted, and when opened, the letter L was clearly engraved inside.
It turned out that they had been together a year ago, or maybe even earlier.
I couldn't hold myself anymore and instantly got out of control.
I smashed everything I could see, then dug out the magnolia-scented perfume from the bottom of my closet and sprayed it all over myself frantically.
Chapter 3
Finally I ran out of the perfume.
Like a deflated ball, I immediately curled up in the ruins and crying silently.
For a timeless time, the painful mood was relieved a lot until I remembered that he had a terminal illness.
I got up from the ground.
I wiped away my tears and called housekeeping to ask them to clean the room.
Alberto came back on the third day.

Just like last time, the first thing he did was to go to the bathroom to take a shower.
I glanced at his phone and it was on airplane mode again.
Maybe he was afraid that Lily would call him and I would answer the phone.
Alberto had already changed into his pajamas. He gently hugged my waist from behind and buried his head in my hair. His tone was full of fatigue as if he really just returned from a "business trip".
"Honey, I miss you so much."
Didn't he dislike me for being boring? How could he act like we loved each other deeply?
Oh, I almost forgot.
I was by Alberto's side when I was eighteen.
I witnessed him from a vendor to a business tycoon in Ocean City.
The company had just gone public, and he needed a perfect public image to maintain the company's image.
There was a chill on my neck.
When I looked down, I saw it was a diamond necklace.
"I bought this for you on a business trip. Do you like it?"
I dodged his kiss.
Holding the necklace, I lowered her head and said "I like it".
Just then, the doorbell rang.
The takeaway I ordered had arrived.
It was spicy barbecue.
I specifically selected the restaurant on the application with the lowest rating and a half-star sanitation environment.
Looking at the table full of junk food, Alberto was in disbelief.
"Honey, don't you hate me eating junk food? Why do you order so much today?"
I picked up a skewer of blackened meat and fed it to him with my own hands.
"Hubby, I was wrong in the past. I restricted you too much. Actually, it's okay to eat these things occasionally."
"You've been so tired on your business trip, so just treat it as a reward. I've already iced some beer in the fridge. I'll get it for you right away."
"From now on, every time you come back from a business trip, we will relax ourselves like we are doing now."
Alberto ate with gusto.
I perfectly played the role of a housewife, pouring him beer and feeding him. I was so busy that I didn't have any time to eat.
Early stage of business.
We often set up stalls until three or four in the morning.
Alberto's favorite thing was to go to the barbecue restaurant after closing the stall, order some barbecue, and drink cold beer to relieve fatigue.
I had personally seen the production process of semi-finished ingredients, and the hygiene standards were not up to par at all.
He had stomach problems.
So I studied how to make barbecue for several days and made it for him at home every time.
At that time, he was clearly moved to tears.
But I don't know since when, no matter how delicious the food I cooked at home, it became a restriction that prevented him from eating out in his eyes.
...
Unconsciously.
Alberto finished all the barbecue on the table.
I saw him touching his belly with satisfaction.
I feel relieved too.
After enjoying the delicious food,
Alberto had already fallen asleep on the bed while I was clearing the table.
It seemed that these three days had really exhausted him.
I just didn't know how long his broken body could last.
While he was asleep.
I fished out his cell phone from his trouser pocket.
The original unlock code was my birthday, but that was wrong this time.
I tried his birthday again, but still couldn't get it to work.
Later, I remembered that the staff in the company sent me Lily's resume.
I input her birthday.
It worked!
We had been together for fifteen years, and I have never looked through his phone.
The trust that was ingrained in our blood made me never think that he would cheat on me.
Just like he told me, I told him that the physical examination report said he was healthy and he believed it.
The chat records were clearly shown there.
As early as three years ago.
None of them had been deleted.
