Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Eva's POV

"Come on Eva it's already midnight", Layla shouted.

"Fuck I gotta go, my mum said I should be home by 12:00am" , I hurriedly picked up my costume and wore it without even tieing the lace of the corset.

"At least can I get your number?"

"Next time, I promise ", I said, running out of the room.

I felt really dizzy so Layla was the one who drove me home.

"We're here, come out!". I heard Layla's voice interrupting my sleep.

She carried me through my front door at two in the morning.

The lights were still on.

My mother was sitting in the living room with her arms folded and a bitter look on her face. I knew immediately that I was in serious trouble.

"Layla, I've got it from here," I said quickly.

Layla looked between me and my mother, made a face that said good luck and disappeared back through the door faster than I had ever seen her move.

"Two in the morning Eva."

"Mum, I can explain..."

"I've been calling you since eleven." She stood up and the disappointment on her face was somehow worse than the anger. "Do you know how worried I was?"

"I'm sorry, I just lost track of time..."

"Sit down." I sat.

She paced for a moment .I watched her and noticed for the first time how tired she looked. Tired in a deep way.

"I need to talk to you about something," she said.

"Mum it's two in the morning, I just want to go to bed. We'll talk when I'm up"

"I know what time it is." She stopped pacing and looked at me directly. "We're behind on everything Eva. The rent, the bills, your school fees. Three months behind on the fees. I've been trying to manage it but I can't anymore."

The dizzy warm feeling from the party evaporated instantly.

"How bad?" I asked quietly.

"Bad." She exhaled. "I've been seeing someone for four months. I didn't tell you because I wasn't sure but he asked me to marry him and I said yes and before you say anything I need you to understand that I did this for us."

I stared at her. "You're getting married?"

"He's a good man. Wealthy, stable, kind. He'll cover everything. The fees, the debt, all of it."

"Mum, you don't even know him properly..."

"Four months Eva. He's coming tomorrow. Him and his son."

"You're serious."

"Dead serious." Her voice was firm but her eyes were soft. "I need you to be okay with this."

I didn't say anything for a long moment. My head was spinning from the drinks and the night and this conversation happening at two in the morning and the fact that apparently my entire life was changing while I was out at a party.

"You would've at least told me, I would've tried to...,"

"Eva...if I can't handle this, means you also can't", she cut.

I said finally. "Whatever."

I went to bed without another word.

I called Layla before I even got out of bed the next morning.

"I have good news and bad ...".

"Start with the good one", Layla said without allowing me to complete the sentence.

"He was incredible," I said the second she answered.

She screamed. I had to hold the phone away from my ear.

"I knew it. I knew from the second he walked over I knew..."

"Layla, every girl at that party wanted him and he chose me."

I was grinning at the ceiling like an idiot and I didn't even care. "Like out of everyone there."

"Because you're that girl obviously. Details, now!."

"I'm not giving you details."

"Eva, I carried you home."

"His grip, the way he looks at me ," I said. "That's all I'm saying."

Layla made a noise that was half scream, half wheeze. "And his dad apparently is just as fine. You know people talk about his family all the time. CEO of something massive. Nobody's really seen him but they say Logan looks exactly like him."

"Interesting genetics then," I said.

"Talking about dad, the bad news is my mum is remarrying to another man. My mum can't meet up with our needs".

"That's nice, you'll have a rich dad to support you and your mum financially. Your mum made a wise decision ".

We talked for another twenty minutes about nothing and everything and by the time I hung up I was almost okay about last night.

Almost okay about my mother's news. Layla said it was fine. The new stepfather was fine. A stepbrother I had never met was fine. Everything was fine.

I spent the day at school distracted and happy in a way you feel after a really good night. Logan found me between classes.

He fell into step beside me . "You disappeared."

"I had to get home."

"Hope you enjoyed last night?", "yess", I said without being able to control the way I smiled.

We walked in comfortable silence for a moment and then he touched my hand briefly as we reached my classroom door.

"Later?" he said.

"Maybe." I pushed the door open. "I've got a thing tonight."

"What kind of thing?"

"Family thing." I shrugged. "My mum has a visitor coming."

Something unreadable crossed his face for a second. "Okay. Tomorrow then."

"Tomorrow," I agreed.

My mother had cooked enough food for ten people.

She was nervous. I could tell by the way she kept adjusting things that didn't need adjusting and checking her reflection in the kitchen window. She was wearing the blue dress she saved for important occasions and her hands wouldn't stay still.

"Mum, relax," I said.

"I am relaxed."

She was absolutely not relaxed. The knock came at six exactly.

I crossed the living room and turned the handle and pulled the door open with a smile ready and then every single thing in my brain came to a complete stop.

Logan was standing on my doorstep...with his father.

Chapter 3

Eva's POV

His eyes went wide for one second and I just stood there, unable to move. Hope this isn't what I'm thinking.

I hope it's Logan coming with his dad to show him his soon to be girlfriend which was me.

His father was older, sharper, and expensive. He was smiling at me warmly with Logan's exact eyes.

"Eva!" My mother appeared behind me. "This is Ryan. And his son..."

So It's true, this is my mum's soon to be husband.

"Logan," I said. My voice came out strange and flat.

My mother blinked. "You two know each other?"

Logan looked at me. His jaw was tight and his eyes said a hundred things he couldn't say out loud.

"School," he said quietly. "We go to the same school."

Ryan extended his hand with a wide easy smile and I shook it and smiled back. He said something that must have made sense but I couldn't hear it.

All I could hear was my own heartbeat. Logan was going to be my stepbrother.

The boy I had slept with last night was going to be my stepbrother and his father was standing in my doorway smiling at me like I was already family and I had to stand here and pretend.

I stepped back and let them both inside. The door clicked shut behind them.

Dinner was the most uncomfortable experience of my life. Ryan was chitchatting with my mum and my mum laughed

at everything he said .I hadn't seen her so happy in years. They looked good together but Ryan looked much younger, I'd say he was 37 while my mum was 42.

I stared at my food and felt sick. Logan sat directly across from me and every time I looked up he was already looking.

I looked at my food again.

"So the plan is a small ceremony," Ryan was saying. "Just family, nothing elaborate." He reached across and covered my mother's hand with his. "We've wasted enough time already."

My mother smiled at him and something in my chest pulled tight.

"And the house," Ryan continued, looking at me directly now. "It's big enough for everyone comfortably. Eva you'll have your own room, your own space. I want you to feel at home."

"Thank you," I said.

My voice came out normal.

"Logan can show you around when we move in," Ryan added. "He knows the place better than anyone."

I felt Logan go still across the table without looking at him.

"Sure," Logan said. "Happy to."

Immediately we were done, my mother washed and I dried the plates.

"He's lovely isn't he," she said.

"Mum." I set a plate down carefully. "I need you to think about this properly."

"I have thought about it."

"Four months isn't very long..."

"It's long enough." She handed me a glass. "Eva I've been alone for eleven years. I've been struggling for eleven years.

Ryan is a good man and he wants to take care of us and I am not going to apologize for saying yes."

"I'm not asking you to apologize. I just think..."

"There is nothing you can say that will change my mind." Her voice was gentle but completely certain. "I love him. And I am marrying him."

I dried the glass slowly and said nothing. There was nothing to say.I couldn't tell her why I was really panicking. I couldn't explain that the polite boy sitting across from me at dinner had had his hands all over me less than twenty four hours ago. That I got wet by just his touch.

I put the glass away and excused myself. The night air outside was cold and quiet.

I sat on the front step with my arms around my knees and stared at the empty street and tried to arrange my thoughts. It wasn't working.

I heard footsteps behind me. I didn't need to turn around to know it was Logan.

He sat beside me on the step leaving a gap between us. We sat in silence for a moment.

"We need to fix this," he said quietly.

"There's nothing to fix. They're getting married."

"Eva..."

"My mother just told me nothing will stop her. Your dad looks like a man who gets what he wants." I turned to look at him finally. "What exactly do you think we're fixing?"

He looked kind of frustrated.

"I like you," he said simply. "I liked you at that party and I liked you this morning and I cannot just switch that off because our parents decided to..."

"You have to," I said. "We both have to."

"That's not..."

"Logan." My voice came out steadier than I felt. "Whatever happened last night doesn't exist anymore. It can't."

He looked at me for a long moment.

"Fine," he said finally.

He stood, said goodnight to my mother through the door and got into Ryan's car without looking back. I watched the car disappear down the road and sat on the step alone for a long time.

Later that evening I visited Layla and told her every single detail.

Eva." She stared at me when I finished. "You slept with your stepbrother."

"He wasn't my stepbrother then."

"He is now."

"Layla I know."

"Like he is literally..."

"I know!" I pressed the throw pillow beside me over my face. "I know, I know, I know."

She was quiet for a second. "Was it at least worth it?"

I threw the pillow at her.

They got married exactly one week later.

Small ceremony, just family, exactly like Ryan had said. My mother wore cream and cried happy tears and Ryan looked at her the way men look at things they have been waiting for and I stood beside Layla in the back and held it together.

"Are you okay?" Layla whispered.

"No."

"Do you want to leave?"

"I can't leave."

She held my hand through the whole thing without asking anything else. That was why she was my best friend.

Ryan's house was a mansion.

That was the only word for it. Wide entrance, high ceilings, a staircase that curved upward . My mother walked through it and looked at me with happiness.

My room was on the second floor. Large, clean, looking like a masters bedroom. More space than I had ever had. Windows lllloverlooking the garden, a desk, a wardrobe already waiting.

And right next door, separated by one wall, Logan's room.

I unpacked slowly and put my clothes into the wardrobe. Books onto the desk. I was arranging my things on the dresser when the knock came.

I turned around slowly and already knew.

I opened the door and Logan leaned against the frame with his arms folded looking at me the way he had across the dinner table last week.

"lYou good?" he said.

"Fine."

"Liar."

I turned back to the dresser. "What do you want Logan."

He stepped inside and closed the door.

"I want you Eva, I want to be inside you, I can't take my mind off your perfect body". He said quietly.

"But...but we're now step siblings".

"No one said I can't fuck my step sister, Eva you're my responsibility, you're mine to please. I know you want me inside you, just say it!!". He stepped closer raising my chin up.

I looked at him without saying a word. He gripped my waist and pulled me closer. We hugged and one hand went down to my ass, rubbing it and spanking it while the other pinched my nipples so hard, I felt my clits throb.

"You've been a huge distraction Eva...". He murmurs, lips brushing my ear.

He took my hand to his dick, I could feel how hard he was through his trousers. I took my hand inside and pulled out his hard cock. Only seeing it made my nipples hard.

"logan...I want your dick", I whispered while my hand wrapped tightly around his hard cock.

"Get on your knees little sis!", my legs moved before my mind caught up .

I pulled down his trousers with force and his balls sprang out, his dick was upright waiting for me to suck it.
