Chapter 4
Lucius's face turned cold.
"She dares? She would love to sleep with me every night and now, I finally agree to go to bed with her, she would be happy."
"But she went too far this time. It will take another eight months for you to give birth. You can't let her threaten you everywhere. It's better to teach her a lesson in advance."
A hint of pride flashed in her eyes and it quickly changed into an innocent one.
"I heard, master in martial art break their vows and return to secular life for the sake of their loved ones. So, who are you doing this for, Lucius?"
The icy cold pool water drowned me and a piercing chill soaked through my limbs and bones.
In that moment, I heard my almost suffocating heartbeat.
Lucius smiled and affectionately scraped the tip of her nose.
"You clearly know, but you still ask me?"
The girl kept shaking his arm, causing his regular breathing in turmoil
"Then, why did you agree to marry Rachelle?"
"If you don't tell me, I won't eat tonight and your baby will starve to death."
Lucius sighed deeply after losing the heated conversation.
"Since the world doesn't allow it and outsiders don't accept it, I can't show off my true lover."
"I want to protect her. Rachelle has a good nature and for me, she is the best choice."
His calm and peaceful gaze for many years, were filled with turbulent waves at this moment.
"So, she has to be good, so we can't be discovered by others, okay?"
The piercing words pierced through my heart one by one.
I couldn't tell whether my body hurt more or my heart hurt more.
The memories chasing after him gradually blurred.
I thought we were childhood sweethearts, I thought our love was a bond, but in the end, it was nothing but a lie to cover up his true feelings.
It was ridiculous that I had been waiting him for twenty-eight years and my only wish was to make him leave the martial arts and live an ordinary life with me.
The young man who promised me in front of God that he would never let me down was eventually lost in my memory.
The tense nerves suddenly snapped and blood kept gushing out from under my body.
Lucius finally realized something was wrong and angrily shouted at the bodyguard beside him.
"What are you waiting for? Go bring her out!"
"If anything happens to her, you don't have to work anymore!"
In unconsciousness, the cold body fell into a warm embrace.
The sandalwood scent lingered at my nose and I seemed to have returned to the time before he entered martial arts world.
But as soon as I opened my eyes, the dream was over.
I was moved to the guest room, where Lucius was sitting beside the bed.
His face was filled with a chill as if a storm was about to come.
"Why didn't you tell me it hurt? Did you know your corpus luteum was ruptured? If you were a step later, you would have died!"
"Rachelle, when will your bad temper change? I don't have time to guess your thoughts every day. I'm really tired of you doing this."
Ignoring his words, I turned my head around the room.
When it was first renovated, this room was originally intended to be used to store miscellaneous items and it was no different from a rough draft.
I didn't expect I would be the first person to move in now.
I smirked from the corner of my lips and didn't even glance at him.
"Ah, are you tired? Don't worry, it will be as you wish soon."
"Don't waste your time acting with me, go and spend time with your little lover."
I struggled to sit up and knocked over all the medicine he had brought me at the bedside.
"This is the villa I bought, I don't need you to play the master."
"If you don't take Noella and get out, the next ones to be beaten will be you."
Lucius was completely enraged. He immediately stood up and yelled at me.
"Enough! Do you have to be so aggressive?"
Chapter 5
"I brought Noella here to help you two get along well and clear up misunderstandings, not to make a fuss for no reason!"
"Noella is my bottom line. She can't be stimulated when she's pregnant. Think clearly for yourself before she gives birth. If you can't be a calm mother, she can only stay in this villa. You can take care of yourself."
As soon as he finished his words, he left without looking back.
I looked at the medicines scattered all over the floor and couldn't help but sneer.
He really did everything he could to protect that little niece.
The laughter downstairs continued and I took out my mobile phone, preparing to send one last surprise to Lucius.
That night, the servants prepared a table full of food.
Most of them were meaty.
Watching the man move his knife and fork without hesitation, I remembered how he had a fight with me over a piece of steak when we were on a date.
The true love and fake love were so obvious.
I walked around the villa and everything that used to belong to me was thrown into the trash can by Noella.
Thanks to her, it saved me a lot of effort.
Before leaving, I took one last glance in the yard.
Holding a shovel, preparing to dig out the peony tree I planted with Lucius.
A shadow suddenly appeared above my head.
When I raised my eyes, Noella was standing in front of me with a smile on her face.
"Rachelle, are you looking for something? Sorry, that bouquet of flowers has already been shoveled off by the servant. Lucius knows I'm allergic to pollen and he's afraid I'll feel uncomfortable."
"Or do those flowers have any special meaning to you? He's too careless. I'll go and talk to him for you."
She had the demeanor of a hostess and I sneered at her.
"No need, thanks to you, it's been shoveled, saving me from having to do it myself."
"But I need to remind you that it's my territory. You have to look at the owner before you beat the dog. If you touch my things, you must pay a price."
"Since you collected those pieces of garbage for me, we'll write it off. But stealing is dangerous. If you steal what is not yours, you will lose as much as you stole. You better be careful."
Hearing me cursing Lucius like garbage, her face instantly turned cold.
"What are you worth pretending to be in front of me? Slandering anyone if you can't get what you want. That's all you're capable of!"
"It's not your turn to remind me how I do things!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she screamed and tore her nightgown.
Ran towards the swimming pool and jumped in.
She couldn't swim, so she could only keep splashing around in the pool.
Time passed minute by minute and Noella's face became paler and paler.
One second before she drowned, Lucius finally arrived at the scene.
He rescued her to the edge of the swimming pool and held her in his arms, then turned his head and glared at me.
He slapped me in the face and his voice was full of anger.
"Rachelle, you have no brain!"
Noella hid in his arms, tightly clutching her stomach with both hands, shivering.
"Rachelle, I-I've already admitted my mistake, but why can't you forgive me?"
"The child is innocent. When the child is born, I am willing to die to atone for my mistake. Please spare the bloodline of the Brussels ...."
Before I could say anything, Lucius' face darkened and he ordered. "Rachelle, kneel down and apologize!"
I looked up in disbelief. "You think I did it?"
After putting the coat on Noella's shoulders, he turned and approached me with a fierce gaze.
"Who else could it be if not you? Was there a third person just now?"
"I've tolerated you many times. I think I've treated you well. For your feelings, I broke Noella's leg. For your face, Noella will be sent abroad after she gives birth to her child."
"What else do you want from me? Is this what you're giving me in return?"
Lucius reached his hand, trying to push me into the water again.
I closed my eyes in despair, waiting for the final judgment.
Just one second before touching me, he let out a long sigh.
He turned, held his niece in his arm and left.
I tore up his martial arts technique books and burned them.
The love that was poured into it also vanished.
I sold the villa at a low price.
Lucius never showed up again for the next three days.
From time to time, passers-by expose his photos online.
Outside the Heavenly Eagle Sect, he knelt on the steps, apologizing and asking his great grand master permission to leave the sect.
In the corner of the photo, Noella was always holding an umbrella, waiting beside him.
On the morning of the wedding day, Lucius was waiting on the beach for the bride's wedding car to appear.
In a few minutes later, he saw a figure wearing a beautiful floral white dress.
As soon as he lifted the veil, it wasn't me, but a mannequin.
A girl mannequin with makeup like a clown.
Lucius' face turned pale in an instant.
"Where's Rachelle? What is this?"
It was a girl mannequin I asked someone to bring on the wedding venue and put on a clown make-up.
A sense of unease surged in his heart.
And he was about to call me to inquire.
The next second, his assistant hurried over, his voice urgent.
"Mr. Brussel, it's not good, your affair with Ms. Devervelt has been exposed."
"And, Ms. Verhoeven is going to marry Anthony Spencer."
