Chapter 4

Valery pulled her fingers out of Kaelen’s grip so fast the sudden loss of friction made her skin sting.

"Back off," she breathed, her voice raspy as she yanked her heavy Enforcer vest back over her shoulders, zipping it clear up to her chin to block out the overwhelming heat still radiating off the three men. "The fever is down. That doesn't mean we’re throwing a party."

Kaelen didn't step back. He stayed looming over her, sweat still glistening on the hard contours of his bare chest, his golden eyes watching every movement of her hands with the quiet, terrifying possessiveness of a wolf that had just tasted blood.

"You can put your armor back on all you want, Valery," Julian drawled from the shadows. He marched over to an old iron supply chest by the cavern wall and kicked the rusted latch until the metal snapped with a sharp crack. "We can still feel your pulse pounding in our own throats."

"Let it pound," Valery snapped, stepping around Kaelen and unrolling a worn, ink-stained sheepskin map onto the stone table. "Because if we don't figure out who set that trap at the altar, none of us will have throats by morning."

Sean cleared his throat, pushing his silver hair out of his eyes as he stepped up to the table. The violent tremor in his hands was gone, replaced by the sharp, calculating focus of a military strategist, though his pale blue eyes still burned with a dark, lingering intensity whenever they flicked to Valery's neck.

"The spell at the altar wasn't just sabotaged," Sean said, leaning his hands flat on the rock table. "It was rigged with blood-bound silver. That metal doesn't exist in the wild. It’s mined exclusively in the deep trenches of the Northern Reach—territory controlled directly by the Pack Council."

"The Council elders wouldn't mine blood-silver without an official decree," Kaelen grunted, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through the stone floor. He stepped up beside Valery, his massive shoulder deliberately brushing against hers, sending a small, electrical thrum of energy down the tether. "Which means this wasn't an ambush by a rogue gang. It was an execution order from the top."

Valery looked down at the map, her eyes narrowing as she traced the red-inked trade lines running from the northern mountains down into the borderlands of Jagged Ridge.

"They wanted all four of us dead in one strike," Valery said, her voice dropping into a cold, surgical tone. "Think about the fallout. If the Bloodfang Alpha, the exiled Lycan prince, the chief Beta strategist, and the High Enforcer all turn to ash at the altar... who steps in to claim the territory?"

The air in the cavern instantly turned heavy.

"Marek," Kaelen spat, his jaw clenching so hard a muscle twitched violently along his cheek.

The name hit the quiet cavern like a physical strike. At the mention of it, Valery’s heart gave an involuntary, bitter spike—a sharp surge of anger that radiated straight down the tether line. Both Kaelen and Julian snapped their heads toward her, reacting instantly to the ripple of her emotional shift.

Marek. The Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. Her former Alpha. The man who had rejected her three years ago, branding her a defective, rebellious rogue when she refused to submit to his pack laws, forcing her into the dangerous, solitary life of an Enforcer.

"Marek has been pushing for a unified Council seat for two years," Sean analyzed, his eyes scanning Valery’s rigid posture. "If the three major threat vectors in Jagged Ridge are wiped out, Marek’s pack automatically inherits the borderlands by default rule of succession."

"That bastard," Julian growled, a wicked smirk curling his lips even as his dark eyes burned with lethal intent. He leaned against the table, his long fingers idly tracing the edge of Valery’s arm. "He didn't just want the land. He wanted to erase the woman who proved his precious pack laws were complete garbage."

Valery glanced at Julian’s hand near hers. The subtle, skin-to-skin touch sent a soothing wave of warm energy through the bond, instantly smoothing out the bitter edge of her rage. She didn't pull away. She used the surge of power to sharpen her focus.

"Marek thinks we’re dead," Valery said, her silver eyes locking onto the map's center. "He thinks the altar trap turned us to ash or drove our wolves into a mutual slaughter. Right now, he’s waiting for his scouts to bring back confirmation of our corpses so he can march his army into Jagged Ridge under the guise of 'restoring order'."

"Then we give him his confirmation," Kaelen grunted, his large hand slamming onto the parchment right over the Crescent Moon territory. "We let his scouts march into the ridge. But instead of corpses, he finds an ambush."

"No," Valery countered instantly, looking up to meet Kaelen’s golden glare. "An ambush is what an Alpha does when he wants a bloody turf war. We aren't fighting a turf war, Kaelen. We are burning his legitimacy to the ground."

Sean raised an eyebrow, a faint, approving smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "You have a tactical blueprint, Enforcer."

"Marek’s power relies entirely on the perception that he is the rightful protector of the ancestral laws," Valery explained, her voice dropping into an icy whisper. "If we simply slaughter his scouts in the woods, the Council will label us rogues and send the entire northern alliance to hunt us down. But if we expose the fact that he used forbidden blood-silver to murder council members and desecrate sacred ground..."

"The Council will be forced to strip his rank," Sean finished, his eyes lighting up with calculating appreciation. "Or at the very least, his own pack elders will turn on him from the inside."

"To do that, we need physical proof," Julian added, tapping his sharp claws against the stone. "The unused blood-silver crates. Marek wouldn't keep something that toxic near his main compound. He’d store it at his forward supply depot on the river border."

"The River Redoubt," Kaelen identified instantly, his eyes narrowing. "Guarded by two squads of Crescent Moon elite enforcers."

"Then that’s our first target," Valery declared, her voice ringing clear through the subterranean chamber.

The Triple Eclipse Bond flared in response, vibrating with a unified surge of dark anticipation. For the first time since the explosion at the altar, the magical tether wasn't tearing them apart with agonizing fever or territorial friction. It was locking their minds into a single, lethal weapon.

Kaelen leaned down, his massive frame blotting out the light, his golden eyes burning with an intense, dark devotion that sent a shudder straight down Valery’s spine. "The River Redoubt is heavily fortified, Valery. Even with the four of us, a direct assault means a bloodbath."

"We aren't doing a direct assault," Valery replied, a cold, dangerous smile touching her lips as her silver eyes flashed under the amber glow of the braziers. "We are going to weaponize the bond. You three are going to feed me your aura projections. I will walk through their front gates, neutralize their command structure from the inside, and you three will wipe out the perimeter before they even realize the ridge has a new sovereign."

Julian let out a low, raspy laugh of pure delight, dropping to one knee beside her and looking up at her like a predator admiring its master. "Gods above... I love a woman who plans a massacre before sunrise."

Sean picked up his tactical daggers from the table, spinning the steel in his hands with quiet precision. "I’ll prep the gear and scout the river routes."

Kaelen didn't pull back. He reached out with one broad, calloused hand, his fingers cupping the side of Valery's neck, his thumb tracing the sharp line of her jaw. The skin-to-skin touch sent a steady, high-voltage current of power lacing through their blood, sealing their unspoken pact.

"Your command, Enforcer," Kaelen whispered, his deep voice carrying the absolute weight of an Alpha’s yield. "Where you lead, we burn."

Chapter 5

The current of energy from the Triple Eclipse Bond vibrated beneath Valery’s skin like a sheet of white-hot iron.

In the shadows of the pine forest surrounding the River Redoubt, three Alphas—three of the most feared predators in the borderlands—loomed just paces behind her. Valery didn't need to turn around to know their positions. Through the magical tether fused inside her skull, she could feel the heavy, thumping rhythm of Kaelen’s heart, the shallow, held breath of Julian crouching in the brush, and the cold, tactical drive pulsing inside Sean’s mind.

"Fifty yards from the main gate," Sean whispered through the bond line, his voice echoing with absolute clarity inside Valery’s head. "Two sentries in the eastern watchtower, three perimeter guards below. They’re armed with silver-tipped longbows."

"Let me snap their necks from behind," Kaelen growled low, his dominant Alpha aura surging, eager to breach the forward line.

"Hold your wolf, Kaelen," Valery cut in coldly. Her gloved hands clenched into fists as she drew a portion of their raw aura away from them, pooling it into her own core. "You know the plan. I walk in first."

Valery didn't wait for a response. She stepped out from the pine shadows, her boots planting firmly on the muddy track leading up to the timber gates of the River Redoubt. Pitch torches flickered along the ramparts, casting long, dancing shadows across her dark Enforcer coat as it snapped in the night wind.

"Halt!" a coarse shout echoed from the watchtower. Two Crescent Moon guards leveled silver-tipped arrows directly at Valery’s chest. "State your name or we drop you where you stand!"

Valery looked up, her silver eyes flashing dangerously in the dark.

Instead of reaching for her weapons, she unchained the fused aura of the Triple Eclipse Bond. Her own Enforcer resistance, Kaelen’s brutal dominance, Julian’s chaotic Lycan magic, and Sean’s icy precision slammed into the guards like a psychic shockwave.

The two sentries gasped. Their knees buckled, their lungs seizing as if invisible, heavy hands had crushed their throats. The notched arrows slipped from their trembling fingers, clattering uselessly down the wooden scaffolding.

"Open the gate," Valery commanded. Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a dense, magical weight that rattled the iron hinges.

The gatekeeper below, already slumped against the timber under the suffocating aura pressure, instinctively threw his weight against the iron release lever. The heavy oak doors groaned, swinging wide open.

Valery stepped into the inner courtyard.

A dozen elite Crescent Moon warriors stood in battle formation with steel drawn, but their faces were dead pale. In the center stood Commander Lucan—Alpha Marek’s right hand. The heavily built warrior stared at Valery with wide, bloodshot eyes, as if looking at a ghost returned from the grave.

"Valery...?" Lucan swallowed hard, his hand shaking violently against the hilt of his broadsword. "You... you were supposed to be ash at the Forbidden Altar. The scouts reported you and those Alphas were obliterated!"

"Marek always was a fool for wishful thinking, Lucan," Valery said, her boots crunching heavily on the damp gravel as she closed the distance. "Where are the blood-silver crates shipped from the Northern Reach?"

Lucan snarled, trying to summon his own pack aura to shatter her pressure, but the combined force of the bond surrounding Valery was an impenetrable wall. "You think you can walk in here alone and demand answers, Rogue? Kill her!"

The elite guards didn't get to take a single step forward.

From the shadow of the upper ramparts, a massive, dark silhouette plunged downward with a deafening roar.

Kaelen landed dead in the center of their formation, the sheer force of his impact cracking the stone paving. In one fluid, brutal sweep of his claws, he tore through the throats of the two lead warriors, spraying hot blood across the mud.

Before the remaining guards could form a line, Julian materialized from the doorway like a demonic shadow. The dark magic tattoos across his bare chest flashed a violent crimson as he slammed into three warriors, snapping their necks bare-handed while letting out a raspy, dark laugh of pure satisfaction.

"Too slow, Crescent Moon dogs!" Julian wheezed, wiping blood from his jaw with his forearm.

Sean crossed the threshold of the open gate, his twin tactical blades gleaming under the torchlight. With terrifying, surgical efficiency, he stepped past Julian, driving his steel precisely between the ribs of the remaining two guards trying to scramble toward the alarm bell.

In less than thirty seconds, the entire courtyard was neutralized. Only Commander Lucan remained, dropping to his knees with his sword clattering to the mud, paralyzed by sheer terror.

Kaelen closed in, his broad, blood-stained hand closing around Lucan’s throat, hoisting the heavy commander off his feet until his boots dangled uselessly in the air.

"Where are the crates?" Kaelen growled, his voice like grinding stone.

Lucan choked, his eyes darting frantically toward the reinforced iron trapdoor at the corner of the courtyard. "In... in the underground vault... but you won't touch Alpha Marek... He has the whole Council backing him!"

Valery stepped up, drew her silver carving dagger, and drove it clean through Lucan’s thigh without blinking.

Lucan let out a blood-curdling scream as the Enforcer magic scorched through his nerve endings.

"I don't need the Council's permission to gut Marek, Lucan," Valery whispered directly into his ear, her silver eyes cold as ice. "Tell your Alpha... his High Enforcer is back, and she brought the butchers of Jagged Ridge with her."

Kaelen snapped Lucan’s neck with a sharp twist of his wrist before tossing his corpse onto the timber pile.

Sean moved quickly to the iron trapdoor, using his blade to shear off the rusted lock. He kicked the heavy oak door open, exposing a flight of stone steps leading down into an underground vault stacked with wooden crates bearing the official wax seal of the Northern Reach.

Julian dropped into the cellar first, kicking the lid off the top crate. Inside, hundreds of blood-silver ingots gleamed with a toxic, reddish-silver light—irrefutable proof that Marek had smuggled illegal metal to trigger the explosion at the altar.

"Flawless evidence," Sean said, inspecting the Council seal stamped into the ingots. "This is enough to brand Marek a war criminal before the High Court."

Valery stood at the threshold of the cellar, watching the toxic glow reflect in her silver eyes.

Suddenly, a violent spike of heat flared down the line of the Triple Eclipse Bond. The massive expenditure of aura in the heat of battle was triggering another wave of fever in their veins.

Kaelen, standing directly behind Valery, moved on pure instinct. His broad, blood-slicked hands wrapped firmly around her waist from behind, pulling her spine flush against his burning chest.

"Valery..." Kaelen rasped hoarsely into the crook of her neck. He held his breath, fighting the wild wolf inside him that screamed to sink his fangs into her bare skin. "The bond... it’s amplifying every time we bleed together."

Julian climbed out of the cellar, leaning heavily against the wooden doorframe with ragged breath, his dark eyes locked on Valery with raw, unyielding hunger. "He’s right, Enforcer. My skin feels like it’s catching fire again... and I’m not spending this night on a cold stone floor."

Sean stepped out of the vault, his hand trembling as he leaned against the timber wall, his pale eyes dark with the same suffocating desire. "The circuit needs to be grounded... now."

Valery felt her body shudder under the heavy, possessive grip of Kaelen's hands. Power and erotic tension coiled tightly inside her blood. But instead of yielding to the heat, Valery turned within Kaelen’s arms, locking her silver eyes onto the Alpha's golden glare.

Her hand shot up, gripping Kaelen’s jaw with an unyielding hold, forcing the giant Alpha to yield his gaze to her.

"We secure the evidence first," Valery commanded, her voice raspy, yet dripping with absolute dominance that made all three men freeze in their tracks. "And after that... all three of you belong to me tonight."

Chapter 6

Kaelen kicked the iron-bolted oak door of the officer’s quarters so hard the latch pin nearly tore free from the timber frame.

Before Kaelen could even kick it shut behind them, the Bloodfang Alpha whipped Valery around, slamming her back flat against the iron-studded planks. The air between their chests blew out hot, thick with the sharp tang of fresh blood and un-dried battle sweat.

"Enough, Valery," Kaelen rasped, his breath blasting hot against her mouth. His blood-stained hands pinned both her wrists above her head against the rough wood. "Our wolves nearly died holding this heat in through the fight below. Don't ask us to wait any longer."

Valery didn't pull against his grip. Her silver eyes locked onto Kaelen's without a single flinch.

"Take your hands off my wrists, Kaelen," Valery whispered coldly, "or I will shatter this tether until your eyes burst."

Behind Kaelen, Julian stepped inside with ragged, shallow gasps. The Lycan prince yanked at the leather straps of his chest armor until they snapped, letting the steel plates clatter onto the carved stone floor. The magical tattoos across his ribs flared a vivid purple, standing out like fresh welts against his flushed skin.

"Let her go, Alpha," Julian growled, his voice hoarse and lethal. "You’re only driving her into another feedback loop. You're going to get us all killed."

Sean stepped inside, shoving the iron deadbolt into place. Sweat dripped from his chin onto his leather collar, his usually cold, calculating blue eyes now dark with raw physical strain. "Kaelen, drop your hands. She controls the circuit."

Kaelen held Valery’s gaze for two agonizing seconds. The veins in his neck bulged, his jaw clenched so hard the muscle twitched violently. But feeling the icy promise in Valery's silver glare—and the sharp, creeping pain radiating into his own chest from the Enforcer’s mental pushback—he slowly loosened his grip and dropped his arms.

He took a heavy step back, his broad chest rising and falling in ragged heaves.

Valery didn't waste a second. She drew a slow, steady breath, rubbing the faint red marks on her wrists, then unzipped her heavy Enforcer jacket and threw it onto the strategy table. She was left in her dark, sleeveless linen tunic, clinging to her damp skin.

She walked straight to the center of the broad timber bed in the corner, sitting down squarely on its edge. Her silver eyes swept over the three men circling her like restless predators.

"You want relief from this fever?" Valery said, her voice smooth and freezing cold, cutting straight through the static in their minds. "You get it on your knees."

Julian let out a harsh, dry laugh. "On our knees? A Bloodfang Alpha and a Lycan prince?"

"You heard her order, Rogue," Sean snapped through gritted teeth. He didn't waste time on pride. He stepped straight to the bed and dropped heavily onto his knees against the carved stone floor, placing his trembling hands flat on Valery’s thighs.

The instant Sean’s palms hit her legs, a violent shockwave of pure relief shot up his arms. Sean gasped, his head dropping forward onto Valery’s knee as the suffocating pressure in his skull began to bleed out into the circuit.

Julian cursed under his breath. His pride collapsed in an instant. He crossed the room in two long strides and dropped beside Sean, locking his hands over Valery’s ankles and leaning his forehead against her shin.

Kaelen stood alone in the middle of the room, his massive frame shaking under the weight of an Alpha’s ingrained ego. His fangs glinted under the oil lamp as his jaw worked in silence.

"Kaelen," Valery said softly, her silver gaze pinned to his golden eyes. "Yield."

A low, agonized growl tore from Kaelen's chest. Slowly, heavily, the Alpha of the Bloodfang pack dropped to his knees on the stone floor, right between Sean and Julian.

Kaelen reached out with his broad, calloused hands, wrapping them around Valery’s waist and pulling her forward until her chest was inches from his face. He rested his forehead against her collarbone, letting out a long, shuddering exhale that felt like scalding steam against her bare skin.

The circuit closed.

The wild fever that had been threatening to burn their minds out instantly smoothed into a deep, steady hum of power. The heavy air in the room settled, vibrating with a high-voltage current flowing out from Valery, looping through all three males, and returning to her core.

Valery tilted her head back, her fingers weaving into Kaelen’s dark, thick hair, holding his head firmly against her chest. She rested her left hand on Sean’s shoulder and her right on the back of Julian’s tattooed neck.

"Listen to me," Valery whispered, her voice carrying an absolute dominance that echoed along their shared tether. "Marek thought he could use this magic to turn us into mindless beasts. He thought we’d tear each other apart over blood and territory."

Kaelen lifted his head slowly, his golden eyes clear and focused once more. "He miscalculated."

"He failed," Valery corrected, a faint, cold smile touching her lips. "He didn't create four rabid monsters. He gave me three Alphas who will level his gates when I give the command."

Julian looked up from her ankles, his dark eyes glittering with lethal intent. "When do we move on the Crescent Moon compound?"

"At dawn," Valery said. "We haul the blood-silver crates straight to the High Council meeting at the border post. We lay out the proof before his pack elders can sweep it under the rug."

Sean lifted his head from her knee, his tactical focus sharp once again. "If we catch him flat-footed at the border post, the Council will have no choice but to strip his authority on the spot."

"And if he resists?" Kaelen asked, his deep voice thick with quiet, promised violence.

Valery leaned down until her face was inches from Kaelen's, her silver eyes burning cold beneath the amber lamplight.

"If he resists," Valery whispered, her fingers tightening in Kaelen's hair, "we tear his pack down brick by brick."
