In my last life, Jessica pushed me down the stairs. And Ryan, who should have been home from work hours ago, didn’t “find” me for another seven hours.
If he had just come home earlier, my baby and I might have survived.
Now, I finally understood.
I was the world’s biggest fool. Ryan, my so-called angel in a white coat, was actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He had played me for years, and I thought I had married for love.
Thank God, my eyes were finally open. I had a second chance to see this man for who he truly was.
I wiped away my tears, tore the receipt into tiny pieces, and flushed it down the toilet.
Ryan’s motive was suddenly crystal clear. I came from a wealthy family. My father had built his massive medical group from the ground up.
When Ryan and I married, my father had high hopes for him, even giving him a key management position in the company.
And Ryan didn’t disappoint. He was hardworking and ambitious, quickly earning my father’s trust. My fathe
