Chapter 6
Sharanya's pov.
Finally, after two hours of travel, our flight landed at our destination safely.
We stepped out of the airport.
His car and one ambulance were present there as they were taking many directly to the hospital.
"I want to go with Maa," I said to him.
"Let her go, there are so many tests left. You can meet with her tomorrow." Was this brown-eyed monster kidding? How could he have said that, huh? I couldn't leave my mother alone.
I said, "I can't leave her alone. I am going with her." I said, and was about to step inside the ambulance, but stopped feeling a clutch in my hand.
"You are going with me, Sharanya, and it's final." Much to my annoyance, he said sternly.
"This time I won't be able to obey you, sir," I said, removing my hand from his clutch.
"Then do whatever you want, aur ghar akele aajana, (come home alone)" he said as he sat inside his car, giving me a hard glare.

They did so many tests, and the reports would be out the day after tomorrow. It's already evening. Please make my mom fit and fine.
"My baby, it's already evening. You should go home now," Maa said to me.
"You can manage, right?" I asked.
"Of course Sharanya, I am not that weak," she said to me.
"Ok then, I'll come to meet you tomorrow. Please take care of yourself and you'll be fine soon," I said and kissed her palm, making her smile.
"Sharanya, you are alone, right? (How will you go alone?) " She asked, concerned, and I looked at her.
"Uhh..noo maa, actually Neil Sir's driver is waiting for me outside. I am not going alone." Oh yeah, I lied to Maa because I didn't want her to get tense.
She smiled and nodded, while I sighed in relief.
"OK maa, I'm leaving now, please take care," I said as I walked away.
Now what to do? I have no one here with me. I had a little cash with me, but I didn't want to use it now. Hell, I didn't even know his residential address.
GOOGLE?
Yes, Google would help.
I took my phone from my purse; this phone was very special to me because my mother had given it to me on my 18th birthday two months before. She bought this in Emi.. She was the best; she did so many things for me.
Turning on the mobile data, I searched for his address on Google.
I think I found it. After all, he was a billionaire.
Now I have to find the route. With the help of Google maps, I started walking, following all the directions. I was getting scared. I walked, praying to God. Just then, one car stopped in front of me and I took two steps back, being scared.
The driver stepped out and said, "Neil Sir, ordered me to drop you at his mansion." I looked at him suspiciously.
"Ohh hello driver uncle, stop lying, OK you can't kidnap me. I am Sharanya Iyer and I know the direction of his house. I'll go alone," I said angrily.
"I am Neil Sir's driver and he told me to drop you safely." He said it again, and I stomped my feet in frustration.
I tried to sound confident while admitting that I was scared.
Suddenly, my phone started ringing from an unknown number. I picked up the call.
"Stop your drama and get inside the car. Don't create a scene in the middle of the road." Before I could reply, he cut the call.
It was a brown-eyed monster.
"Driver uncle, do you have any cameras?" I asked, looking here and there because I was scared; how did he get to know?
"No, actually sir, I am on call," he said, showing his phone.
Ughhhh, I will be getting mad very soon.
I sat inside the car while the driver-uncle drove off.
We reached it in 20 mins.
Stepping out of the car, I looked at the mansion in awe. It was so beautiful, like, so beautiful.
With shivering hands, I rang the doorbell, and one butler opened the door, giving me a look. I didn't say anything and stepped in. I found Neil Sir. His brother and wife were sitting in the living room.
"Ohh, finally you are here." It was Anusha Maam.
I stopped a few metres away from them, fiddling with my scarf.
"Go and freshen up, then make tea for me," Anusha ma'am said. Alternatively, you could say, order.
I raised my eyes to her."Woah Miss, whatever, why are you looking at me like that? You are mad, so you have to work," she said to me. I didn't say anything and glanced at Neil Sir, for once, who was using his phone while sitting comfortably.
Yeah, right I was a maid only. OK, sharu control.
"Nadira bii." She called someone.
And one lady came out of the kitchen. She was like my mother's age.
"Show this girl her room," she said to her.
Nadira Bii nodded and turned towards me, "This way." I nodded and followed her upstairs. Just then I heard Anusha mam speaking, "I don't know why your room chose a room for her in this mansion. Servant quarter me toh reh sakti thi na woh. (She could have stayed in servant quarter)"
She showed me the room and I thanked her. I nodded, smiling, and Nadira Bii said, "If you need anything, then call me." I nodded, smiling, and she left.
I dumped myself on the bed. I was so tired. I didn't sleep properly last night, then I flew and then walked for 20 minutes, uhhh.
My stomach growled in hunger. I didn't even have my lunch. Uhhh, what to do now?
Shift Anusha told me to make tea for her.
I took out my outfit from my luggage and went to the restroom.
I went down and straight to the kitchen. Now I have to make tea for her.
"Nadira bii, can you please tell me where the sugar is?" I asked her softly, and she nodded and helped me. I made tea for her and went to the living room; she was watching some shows on TV.
I gave the tea to her, "Now go and help Nadira Bii cook dinner."
I nodded and went to the kitchen.
Chapter 7
I went to the kitchen and started helping Nadira Bi. Though I was so hungry and I didn't know how to or whom to request food, ughh, my baby's small stomach wants food.
"What happened, umm?" Oh, she didn't know my name.
"Sharanya," I said, and she nodded. "What happened, Sharanya? You are looking disturbed. " She questioned me softly.
I said, being a little embarrassed. "Umm.. actually I'm so hungry and I didn't even have lunch."
"You don't need to get embarrassed. I'll give you cookies," she said, making me smile.
"Here have it." She took out a few cookies for me on a plate and gave them to me.
"Thank you so much." I thanked her and was about to take a bite, but the plate was snatched away from my hand.
"You dumb girl, you are here to cook, not to eat." It was Anusha Ma'am.
"And Nadira Bii, why did you give her these expensive cookies to eat, huh?"
"Ma'am, she was." Nadira Bii tried to say but Anusha Ma'am cut her off, "What she huh? She can't have these foods. If she is hungry, she can have food later from the servants' quarters but not from here, "said Anusha ma'am, turning towards me.
"You aren't here to enjoy luxurious things, you are just a normal servant, so do your own work and oil on your own wheel," and she left.
I wiped the lone tear which had escaped from my eyes and looked at Nadira Bii, who was giving me a pitiful look.
I smiled sadly at her and started helping her again.
After some time,
"Sharanya, the dinner is ready; can you handle it because I have to leave for my home, where my husband and children must be waiting?" Nadira Bii asked.
I assured her, "It's OK nadira, I'll manage," I assured her, and then she left.
With the help of other butlers, I set the dining table, and then the servants left for the servant quarters.
They sat for dinner and I served them, praying to Ayyiappa that they finish their dinner so that I could have something.
"Why are you standing there? Go to the servant quarters. You will get your food there." Anusha ma'am said. I didn't know anyone at the servant's quarter, and Nadira had already left.
Still nodding, I went out and walked towards the backside of the mansion.
I stepped in, and they were all having dinner. "Can I get something to eat?" I asked, stuttering a little, grabbing their attention.
"Sorry, we didn't know that you were coming today and we don't have extra food today." One girl, who was older than me, said
"It's OK, no problem," I said, and walked out. I wiped my overflowing tears; it's just a start; Sharanya, you have so many things to bear. It's OK Sharanya
It's alright, Sharanya, you won't die if you don't eat for a day.
I took a deep breath and stepped inside the mansion, looking down. They were still having dinner. I didn't say anything and went to the room where they told me to stay. I couldn't say it was my room because I didn't have any rights.
I sat down on the couch facing the window. No one asked me if I had dinner or not, not even Neil Sir, though I didn't expect anything from him still, I had no one with me..no one to complain to; no one to ask for something. I was alone.
I found a jug of water and a glass. At least there is water for me. I drank a glass of water and started looking outside the window. Why this hunger? God please make me sleep so that I can forget about my hunger.

Neil's pov.
Did she have her dinner or not? But I think she didn't as she stepped inside the mansion after five minutes of going out to the servants' quarters.
I think I should check on her.
Wait, what? Why should I? She was a cunning girl, and still I was thinking about her. I tried to help her in every possible way, but all she wanted was to marry me so that she could get my luxury.
Let's just check on her. She must be enjoying her new room with a wardrobe full of expensive clothes and all the expensive makeup, even new phones and laptops were placed in the wardrobe.
I walked towards her room and was about to open it, but stopped. How could I just step in without knocking? Damn, Neil Ahuja. I knocked on the door twice and then stepped in.
My eyes wandered around her room, and I found her sitting on the couch facing the large window. The lights around her were dim, and I couldn't see her face as she was looking outside. Her long hairs were falling on her back while her hands were shining in the moonlight.
"Sharanya," I called her, and she turned towards me, looking at me with her innocent eyes and then looked down.
Innocent huh? She wasn't innocent at all.
A few hair strands were falling on her forehead while her puffy cheeks were glowing in the moonlight and her pouty lips looked more pink.
"Sharanya, why didn't you sleep yet? You finally got the luxurious room and even the bed is really soft and comfortable," I said, as if I was mocking or taunting her.
She sighed then looked at me, "Sir, please not today. If you want to shout at me, taunt me, or anything, then please do that tomorrow, but not now sir. I am so tired today." Her voice was just like a mere whisper. It was like she didn't have any energy left in her.
I didn't say anything and turned to leave. Just then I heard her murmuring something to herself, but I heard it "Not for once he asked me about food."
She didn't have dinner, but Anusha told her that it was time to go to the servants' quarters for dinner. Oh yeah, of course, Madame wants delicious and tasty food, not that servants' quarter food.
"You went to the servant quarters for dinner, right?" I asked again. "Then you didn't have your dinner? You aren't a royal queen of somewhere, and of course that's why you don't want the servant quarter-made food," I said, chuckling a little, and she looked at me while a tear escaped from her eyes, her FAKE TEARS.
She also got up from the couch and looked at me. "Yes, I did go to the servant quarters for dinner, but there wasn't extra food for me. They hadn't cooked anything extra for me." She said, looking at me with her teary eyes.
"And I didn't need your delicious food, sir. I am thankful to my God for everything he gave me, though I am a little angry today that he didn't give me lunch or dinner, but it's OK, I know he planned something best for me." She sounded like a kid when she uttered those words.
That means she just had breakfast before coming to Mumbai. After that, she didn't have anything. She must have been lying to gain my sympathy.
"You are lying right" I asked, and she chuckled.
"Yes sir, I am lying and I just know I am lying. Now can you please leave. Nope, actually I should leave. After all, it's your house only. Should I just go and sleep on the lawn?"
"Sleep only here," I said as I exited her room.
Promo
"Sharanya, what are you waiting for? Go to the servant quarters and have your breakfast," said Anusha Mam while sipping orange juice.
"Sharanya, sit here and have breakfast with us," said another voice as I turned to leave.
Chapter 8
She didn't have dinner. I could say it by seeing her face. Ughh, stop thinking about her She was acting as Neil. I went to the lawn to get some fresh air.
I sat down on the chair, gazing at the stars; just then I saw one servant coming out of the quarter.
"Did Sharanya eat anything?" I didn't want to ask him. I still asked him.
He stood in front of me, looking down, "Sir, actually we didn't cook extra food, so." I didn't let him complete his sentence. "Means you all didn't give her dinner. At least you all gave her something to eat," I shouted, making him flinch.
"So..sorry sii.r." He apologized, stuttering.
"Out of my sight right now," I shouted, and he literally ran out of the place.
I went inside the mansion and straight to the kitchen.
I found a packet of pasta. I started making pasta for her even though I hated her, because I didn't want her to starve.
I quickly made white sauce pasta for her and went to her room. After knocking on the door, I stepped in. She was sobbing softly, looking out of the window. If I wasn't here, then why was she acting?
"Sharanya," I called her, and she turned towards me and her eyes travelled to my hand, but she immediately turned her gaze, looking down at her lap.
"Have it", I said, placing the plate beside her.
"I donn't want it," she said softly.
"Come on don't waste food, it's a sin" I said this time she didn't say anything and just took the spoon and started having it silently.
"Thank you, sir," she said softly, getting up from the couch.
"I'll just go and dump this plate in the wash basin," she said, and walked out of the room.

next morning,
I woke up yawning. Thank you, God, for filling my stomach the previous night.
My eyes travelled to the wall clock. It was 7.am. I woke up so early. Getting off of the bed, I thought to put my few dresses in the cupboard which I brought with me.
I opened the cupboard; it had so many branded outfits and even a new laptop and smartphone. These things weren't mine. I didn't deserve all this. I closed the cupboard and took out my other dress and went to the restroom.
After changing, I went to the kitchen where Nadira Bii was already there.
"Good morning." I wished she had stepped inside.
"Good morning, Sharanya." She wished me back.
"You woke up so early?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Sharanya I am going to give this green tea to Anusha Mam. Can you please make black coffee for Neil Sir? "She asked and I nodded.
I said, "Ok, I'll do it," and she walked out.
I took out the jar of coffee powder and just then I felt a presence behind my back, which eventually made me uncomfortable and scared.
I turned, and my eyes went wide. It was a priyank.
He was eyeing me head to toe, making me uncomfortable.
"Do you want something?" I asked, and he smirked.
"Oh yeah, I want a cup of coffee," he said, leaning close to me. What the hell?
"Mo...move...back," I stutteringly said, and he chuckled.
"Why?" He whispered and raised his hand to touch my cheeks, but before that, I jerked his hand.
"Don't tease me," I said, glaring at him.
"Ohh I am scared." He made a scared face and leaned closer to me again.
God help me please.
"Priyank, where are you coming to the gym room?" I heard the monsters yell, and he moved back, groaning in frustration.
"Coming brother," he yelled back, then looked at me, "I'll see you later," and he left.
I sighed in relief. What was that? This sample was bad and I knew it.
Good, please protect me from him. He was worse than that brown-eyed monster.
I quickly prepared black coffee for the brown-eyed monster and told the other butler to give it to him.
__________________________
I served breakfast to them with the help of Nadira Bii. Now I have to go to the servant's quarters to have my breakfast.
"Sharanya, what are you waiting for? Go to the servant quarters and have your breakfast," said Anusha Mam while sipping orange juice.
I turned to leave. Just then I heard another voice, "Sharanya, sit here and have breakfast with us." My eyes went wide and my mouth opened in shock. It was a brown-eyed monster, and he said that.
"Neil, what are you saying? Are you out of your mind? She is a maid here. How can she have breakfast with us? "Anusha ma'am said to him.
Anusha, firstly, she is not a maid here; she is here to study and help you with household work. After all, you don't do any household work and mom didn't say that she is a maid, so stop treating her like one," Neil Sir said to her while I was rooted at my place.
"You are going against me just because of this mere little girl," she yelled at him.
"Sister-in-law doesn't say anything wrong, bro." It was Priyank.
"I am just saying the point anusha, she is not a maid here, she can have breakfast with us," the monster said again.
"But Neil," she tried to say, but Sir cut her off. "It's my home, Anusha," Sir said, shutting her up.
She started having her breakfast silently.
"Do I need to invite you, Sharanya, to sit and have breakfast with us?" Neil Sir asked sarcastically.
I sat silently and served myself breakfast.
"I am leaving for the office. Bye Neil, bye Priyank," Anusha said, standing up.
"Bye bro," I sighed as Samar also left.
I didn't look up as the monster was sitting just opposite to me and continued having my breakfast. Just then, my phone rang.
I picked up the call; it was from Lekha ma'am.
"Yeah mam?" I asked.
Sharanya, your admission is done at St. Xavier's College because of your scholarship. I already told Neil to look into the other things. Your classes will start next week. " She said, and my lips broke into a smile, the genuine one.
"Thank you so much, Mam," I said, smiling from ear to ear.
"No need now, bye" and she hung up the call.
"Happy now?" "Sir?" he asked, getting up from the chair, and my eyes shot up at him.
Why are you looking at me like that? "You must be very happy, and you are getting all the things you wanted," he said, looking at me while buttoning his blazer.
"Wait, who are you?""What are you talking about?" I asked, and he chuckled and walked towards me.
"Stop this drama, Sharanya, you aren't innocent, and yes, you got into one of the best colleges in Mumbai because of your mother," he said, shaking his head. No, no. I got admission because of the scholarship and not because of his mom's money.
"Sir." He cuts me off. "I don't have time for your nonsense here. Take my card and do anything you want, because I know you want these things only." He said, and put the card in front of me on the table.
"All this money is more than your standard. Use as much money as you want. It has more money than you think." he said, and left.
