Divorce

"Urgh… L-Leo… Arghh, I love it. Fuck me harderrr.. Argh.. B-babyy,"

Lilian moaned loudly with her eyes rolling into her head, and her slender fingers digging into Leo's hard back as he thrust into her repeatedly. She stood before them, speechless.

*

If someone had asked Hayley Forbes before now who she loved most in the world, She'd say her husband. And if someone else had asked her who she trusted most in the world, She'd say her husband. Yeah.. It's like that.

But something she should have had in mind a long time ago was that, men are deceitful and we can never trust them. But how could she believe in that saying, when Leonardo Anderson was literally the kind of man she had prayed for. He was handsome, caring, loving, well-mannered, kind-hearted, and even on top all of these, he was a multi-billionaire, and the CEO of the second biggest company in Clasold City. He was every woman's dream, and she was his only wife.

Hayley wouldn't say she married him for money. She was forced to marry him, though she had been reluctant at first, because of the rumors she had heard about him, that he was callous and ruthless, after they got married, she discovered they were indeed rumors because he was the sweetest man in the world, and gradually she fell for him. Fell for him and loved him harder than you can think of, well, until the day he betrayed her trust with another woman, Lilian Lopez. That bitch.

She had just returned from the studio as she was an aspiring artist. She walked into them in her matrimonial home, on her matrimonial bed, having sex. Leonardo was fucking the hell out of her, her moans filled the air as she dug her fingers into Leonard's back.

She stood there, struck dumb in disbelief and shock, tears flowing freely down my face. They were oblivious to her presence at first, until Leo pulled out of her, and Lilian opened her eyes after reeling back from her climax. In that instant, she caught sight of Hayley and gasped, tapping Leonard's arm for his attention. As he turned to face Hayley, there was no trace of remorse etched on his features, all she could see was irritation and anger. Hayley couldn't comprehend it, and she knew she couldn't bear to stay in that room, watching him still in bed with her after what she had just seen.

Without a word, she turned on her heel and raced downstairs, expecting him to come after her. But he didn't. Face flooded with tears, She flung her bag onto the sofa and collapsed on the couch, burying her head in her hands and sobbing uncontrollably. How could the person She loved and trusted more than anyone in the world betray her like this?

Hayley was still sobbing when she heard him call her name in an icy tone,

“Hayley!”

She lifted her head to see him standing there, his face bearing an arrogant expression. His shirtless frame glistened with sweat, his well-defined abs on full display.

Meeting his unwavering unremorseful gaze, She felt a strong urge to slap him, but she wouldn't dare. She feared him when he was angry, and she also prided herself on being a composed and calm lady.

Hayley stood up, facing him and waiting for an explanation, but he remained silent. They stood, locked in an intense stare, before she finally broke the stifling silence.

“Why?” Hayley managed to choke out amidst her tears. “Why, baby…"

He cut her off sharply, his voice laced with anger. “Don't call me that!”

His response caught her off guard.

“What?” She asked, staring into his eyes, wondering if he was truly the same man she had married three years ago.

He said nothing, his expression unreadable.

She scoffed at his audacity, “I shouldn't call you that?” As her rage surged, she couldn't hold back her anger anymore.

“How dare you say that? You lying and deceitful piece of shit! I have been nothing but an understanding and faithful wife to you, and this is how you choose to repay me? By bringing a whore into our matrimonial home! A home we have shared for years, Leo! How could you?!” The tears welled up, choking her words and rendering her speechless.

Leonardo remained unfazed, his expression devoid of any emotion, as if he was bored and tired.

Without saying much, he extended his hand towards her, handing her a file that she did not notice in his hand before. Her sobs momentarily halted as she stared at the file, then back at him confused.

“What is this?” She managed to ask, her mind in a state of turmoil.

He didn't sugarcoat or mince his words. He didn't fuss or muss.

With no hesitation, he said flatly, “Divorce papers. I need your signature.”

Hayley gasped in shock and disbelief, clutching her chest as if a sharp knife had pierced through her heart. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks as she sank back onto the sofa.

Despite her emotional state, he persisted, “I am going to marry Lilian, the woman you met a while ago. She is not a whore, but my first love, the woman I was meant to wed before being coerced into marriage with you to settle your family's debts, that in turn you give me what I need. Well, it's been three years… Still nothing. I think it is time to end this charade. I never loved you, Hayley. My heart belongs to her, and she carries my child, a task you have failed to accomplish in three whole years. I can't do this shit, called marriage, anymore. I regret marrying you, Hayley Forbes, and I'm done.”

His words struck her heart like a merciless knife, reopening old wounds. She couldn't comprehend what was happening.

Nothing pained her more than Leonardo's final words. She gasped for air, her body trembling and her heart racing with palpitations. The pain was unbearable, and she longed for it to stop. She couldn't continue to suffer in this way; the hurt was too much for her to bear.

Never did she imagine that Leonardo would divorce her because she couldn't bear him a child. It wasn't her fault, it was simply not her time to conceive. She had tried all methods to become pregnant, but to no avail. She had gone to several doctors to diagnose what the problem was, but medically, there was nothing wrong with her. During those times, Leonardo had encouraged and reassured her that everything was going to be fine, but now everything had changed.

As she looked at him, she no longer saw the loving man she had married, but rather the cold-hearted billionaire that none of my foster sisters wanted to marry.

Hayley rose to her feet unsteadily, staring at the documents Leonardo had impatiently tossed onto the sofa. She shook my head, wiping her tears with the back of her hand and attempting to compose herself.

Though Hayley knew he was the one at fault, She bent on her knees, begging him for a second chance. She pleaded desperately,

“My love, please. I am sorry if I have ever wronged you in any manner. I am sorry for yelling at you when I came home, for something that is my fault. Please forgive me. Do not leave me. I promise it will not happen again, Leo. I beg of you, do not divorce me, Leonardo. Please.” She beseeched, grasping his hand despite his efforts to shake her off, but he couldn't. Leonardo rolled his eyes.

She continued, “I am your wife, Leo. You call me mi reina. Y-you told me you love me. You promised me forever. Please do not do this to me, Leo. You vowed to stand by my side in good times and bad. You promised!” She said, her voice rising with pain and hurt.

She couldn't imagine a life without Leonardo in it. She loved him so much. He was her world. She was obsessed with him.

Hayley was not expecting a response from him, but his silence hurt her even more, still she kept pleading with him.

Hayley was interrupted when she heard the sultry voice of Lilian, addressing her husband,

“Coming to bed, baby?” She called from the staircase. Leonardo turned his gaze at her, responding affectionately, “Just a moment, sweetie.”

Hayley's broken heart tightened upon witnessing her husband's display of affection towards another woman, when she was in dire need of it. The urge to confront Lilian surged within her, but she restrained herself, although Lilian looked at her mockingly before walking away.

Leonardo finally forcefully pulled her hands away, his tone aggressive, “You heard her! Now let me go!” He barked, “You have a grace period of two days to sign those documents, or else I will force you to do so."

With those words, he left. He went to be with her, leaving her, his lawful wife, all alone, downtrodden and shattered.

Trembling, Hayley picked up the divorce papers and scanned them with my eyes, tears filling her eyes. He had already signed them.

That night, Hayley cried until she could no longer do so. The damage had been done, and the trust they once shared had been irreparably shattered.

In the days that followed, Hayley found herself drowning in a whirlpool of emotions. All her attempts to change her husband's mind were in vain. When the second day came for her to sign the papers, she was reluctant, but Leonardo and Lilian threatened to make her already miserable life a living hell if she didn't comply. He promised to do the unthinkable. And so, with a heavy heart, she made the brave choice to end their marriage. With a trembling hand, she signed the papers, letting go of the dreams they had once cherished together.

As Hayley closed that chapter of her life, She vowed to seek revenge against her unfaithful husband, Leonardo Anderson.

Pregnant

"It's been two weeks, Hayley. You need to stop crying over him. He is not worth a single tear that falls from your eyes." Emily, Hayley's best friend consoled her.

Emily sat down beside Hayley on the couch, gently patting her shoulder as Hayley lay still with tears streaming down her face. She was tired of everything. The anguish was too much to bear all at once.

It had been two weeks since Leo and her divorced, yet she still couldn't get over him. Hayley had gone to her family to seek their help to help her plead with Leonardo, but instead of supporting her, they abused her and kicked her out.

Hayley knew they never truly cared for her or considered her as family, especially her foster mother, Wendy Forbes. She despised Hayley so much that Hayley often wondered why she even adopted her in the first place. Hayley was aware that she had no place in that home, but she never imagined that in her time of need, they would turn their backs on her and leave her helpless. They made it clear that she had no one. They resented her. The Andersons resented her. Even her husband resented her.

With nowhere else to go, Emily had kindly offered for Hayley to stay with her, at least until she could gather herself again since she had no money to move in to a new apartment. Emily had hoped to comfort and cheer her up, but that was not possible. All Hayley ever did was cry all day.

In the depths of Hayley's mind, she tried to convince herself that the tumultuous events of two weeks ago were nothing but a nightmare. She was certain she would soon wake up from it and find her husband by her side once again. However, her delusion came crumbling down when the headlines of the morning news flashed on the screen. In bold, capitalized letters it read: "BILLIONAIRE, CEO OF ACS GROUP, LEONARDO ANDERSON AND ACTRESS LILIAN LOPEZ TO BE WEDDED ON SATURDAY." Another headline caught Hayley's eyes also: "BILLIONAIRE'S EX-WIFE DIVORCED DUE TO FAILED MARRIAGE."

Leonardo came up on the screen. There he was, looking immaculate with Lilian by his side.

It was a harsh reality that Hayley had to accept and move on from Leonardo, knowing full well that he would never change his mind no matter how hard she pleaded.

The tears were uncontrollable, and she found herself motionless on the couch, lost in her emotions. Her mind couldn't help but wander to thoughts of how things would be different if she had a child. Perhaps she wouldn't be enduring this pain and suffering. But it was futile to dwell on such thoughts now that she had to face the fact that Leonardo would no longer be a part of her life.

As the wedding day of Leonardo and Lilian drew closer, Hayley made the decision to leave the city and start afresh somewhere else.

Emily and Hayley sat at the dining table, eating. Despite her efforts to engage Hayley in conversation, her heart was heavy, and she couldn't bring herself to speak nor touch her food.

"Is something troubling you?" Emily asked, noticing her lack of appetite.

Hayley raised her head to meet her concerned gaze and shook her head, "No, Em. I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

She nodded, confident in her answer.

Then Emily sighed and continued to eat her food.

"I'm leaving Clasold City," Hayley announced abruptly to her.

She paused, looking at Hayley with her, her ocean blue eyes unwavering.

They were both quiet for a moment, until Emily spoke up. "That's for the best. You will be fine."

Hayley could hear the pain in her voice, but she simply smiled and nodded. Hayley could tell she was relieved that she was already beginning to move on after three weeks of non-stop tears.

Hayley tried to eat, although her appetite was non-existent, just as it had been for the past weeks. She stood up, intending to leave, but a wave of dizziness hit her, causing her to sit back down.

Emily rushed over to her, her concern evident in her agitated expression. "Are you alright?"

Hayley nodded, "Yes, I feel a bit dizzy though. Think I should rest." She tried to stand again, but this time she found herself dashing towards the bathroom, vomiting into the toilet. Emily patted her back and tucked her hair behind her ear while she emptied her bowels.

'This fucking illness struck again!' Hayley cursed inwardly.

She had been experiencing occasional bouts of vomiting for the past few weeks, but they ignored it, attributing it to malnutrition.

After Hayley finished, Emily helped her into a bath before she went to lay down on the couch. She gazed up at the ceiling, aware of Emily's eyes on her. She was always worried about her, and Hayley wanted to tell her that she was fine before Emily bluntly and abruptly asked her the question that caught her off guard.

"Are you pregnant?"

Hayley turned her gaze sharply towards her, staring at her as if she had misheard her.

"What?"

Emily asked again, undeterred. "I asked if you are pregnant, Hayley?"

Hayley inhaled exasperatedly, glaring daggers at her. Turning her gaze back to the ceiling, she struggled to control her growing anger. How could she even ask her that?

"Come on, answer me. Explain the strange illnesses you've been experiencing for the past two weeks. You've been vomiting, feeling nauseous, dizzy, and have lost your appetite. You look so pale, skinny... All symptoms of pregnancy!" Emily pressed, her tone demanding answers.

"Enough, Emily. Enough!" She snapped, sitting up sharply. "I'm already suffering as it is... please don't add to it."

"But... I-I just wanted to-"

"I am a barren woman, Em! Is that what you wanted to hear before you leave me the fuck alone?" She yelled, hurt and pain laced in her words.

"I'm sorry..."

Before Emily could finish her sentence, Hayley ran off to the bathroom again, feeling violently ill.

Hayley splashed her face with water, holding onto the sink as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She was a mess, just like Emily had pointed before. Thin, pale, and sickly.

Looking at Emily's reflection in the mirror, she spoke calmly.

"I'm not pregnant, Em. But I am sick. I need to see a doctor."

Emily nodded, "I'll get the keys."

*****

"Congratulations, Ms. Forbes. Here are the test results. You're two months pregnant!" The doctor exclaimed, handing Hayley the paperwork.

Emily and her exchanged a quick glance. Hayley could see the excitement on her face, but she couldn't feel the same as she turned to the doctor in disbelief. She took the results from him, examining them carefully herself. It was true, those were her test samples and the results were positive.

"Congratulations, Hayley. We're going to have a baby! My intuition was right, you are pregnant," Emily exclaimed with joy, a wide grin spreading across her face.

Hayley wanted to say something but she couldn't. Her emotions were an overwhelming mixture of astonishment, elation, and sadness. She watched as her surroundings faded into a blur, consumed by the thoughts racing through her mind.

She was pregnant, truly and unquestionably. Her, Hayley, was pregnant. The same person they had deemed "barren" and hurled derogatory labels at, was finally blessed with a child.

For so long, she had been labeled as infertile, made to feel like a sick and cursed woman incapable of bearing a child for Leonardo. But now, everything had changed.

She couldn't help but wrap her arms protectively around her flat stomach, a victorious smile creeping across her face.

This news was her key to finally winning back her husband.

Rejected

"Are you fucking serious right now?" Emily lashed out as they walked out of the doctor's office. Hayley had just revealed her plan to win back her husband with the news of her pregnancy. Needless to say, Emily was not on board with the idea.

Hayley paused at the entrance, attempting to justify her decision to her.

"I have to, Emily. He'll be happy to have me back."

But Emily wasn't having it.

"He kicked you out!"

"I left on my own," Hayley said in defense.

Trying to placate her, she added,

"Everything will be fine, Em. He's my husband, he'll take me back. He only cheated because I couldn't have children, which I completely understand. But now, I'm pregnant. Once he knows, he'll apologize and reverse his decision. He won't marry her. He won't marry her anymore!"

Emily looked at her in disbelief. She must have thought Hayley had lost her mind and was completely delusional.

"When will you get it in your head that Leonardo didn't divorce you because you couldn't have a child! He divorced you because he doesn't love you...Snap out of it, Hayley!"

"I am perfectly in my right mind. It's you who can't understand. I am a married woman, you're not.You don't understand what marriage is like. It has its ups and downs, and we work through them. I am going to be a mother soon. I want my child to grow up in a loving and safe environment. I didn't get that chance growing up, so I have to create it for my child. I need to get my husband back!" Hayley stated, determined to see her plan through.

Emily was taken aback by her response.

"You're a finished woman, Hayley."

Hayley ignored her comment, her mind solely focused on seeing Leonardo again. She longed for his smile, his touch, his soft lips on hers, his kisses that drove her crazy, and his caresses that ignited a desire in her that only he could sate. The thought of these things was too much to bear, and she couldn't wait any longer. Time was ticking, and she had to end that wedding as soon as possible.

"I have to go now. You coming with me, Emily?" Hayley asked eagerly.

"Absolutely not!" She spurned.

She shrugged, "Alright, I'm taking the car. You hail a taxi home. See you some other time, and stay safe! Wish me luck."

Without waiting for her response, Hayley went in to the park.

Emily watched her drive away with a happy smile etched on her face. She shook her head pathetically.

*

Hayley's car came to an abrupt stop outside the enormous mansion of the ANDERSONS'. Glancing at the time on the car clock, she saw that it was nearly seven pm. She turned her gaze to the grand and luxurious mansion stretched out in front of her, feeling a chill in her stomach. She gripped the steering wheel tightly and exhaled deeply, convincing herself that everything would be fine. She eyed the test results again, silently praying for it to be her salvation, as it was her only hope in this moment.

Passing through the security check, Hayley found herself approaching the house where she once lived.

The compound was adorned with beautiful decorations, and cars were neatly parked in the garage, indicating a large number of people in attendance for Leonardo's pre-wedding celebration. It was a shame that she would have to interrupt and bring an end to it all tonight.

As she opened the door to the venue, all eyes turned to her. Silence ensued.

"Who let this bitch into my house?" Lilian exclaim with venom in her voice.

Hayley huffed in annoyance. How bold of her to hurl insults at her when she was the actual bitch. The music that once filled the room had slowly faded away.

Hayley strode closer to them, standing before them and observing their expressions which were filled with resentment, hatred, and animosity, especially coming from the Forbes, her supposed family. Leonardo's face displayed a mix of irritation and anger as he whispered something to Lilian.

"The nerve of you to come here and ruin our moods of celebration, Hayley Forbes!" Dana Anderson, her ex-mother-in-law scolded sternly.

Hayley ignored her, her eyes straying from one individual to another, and then accidentally landing on her foster mother. Her face was cold and deadly, as per her nature. She remained unmoved, her calculating gaze making Hayley feel uneasy as her eyes remained fixed on her. Hayley quickly diverted her gaze to the others in the room.

"I have news to share..." Hayley announced.

Lilian immediately sprang up from her seat, pointing at Hayley and commanding for her to be removed since her presence was making her stomach churn, which wasn't good for her or the baby. Hayley could see the fear in her expression. But she couldn't fathom the reason why.

"Hey baby," Hayley said to Leonardo as he slowly approached her, "I just need two minutes, I beg of you."

He firmly grasped her hand and spoke in a low, guttural growl. "Do not make me angry, just come with me."

Hayley's weak gaze flickered as he dragged her along, her eyes darting back and forth between him and the others present. She wanted to deliver the news to prove them all wrong.

"Hear me out, Leo. Please, just hear me out" Hayley pleaded as he continued to drag her towards the gate. "I have good news, I swear."

"I have no interest in your nonsense!" he bellowed, his anger palpable.

Hayley had the urge to interrupt him with the news, but he abruptly stopped, turning to her. His grey eyes darkened and his brows furrowed in an angry stare.

Gritting his teeth, anger written all over his face, he said, "I don't want. to. ever. see. you. In my house again for whatever reason... You should know by now how you make me feel. I hate you, Hayley Forbes. You disgust me with your presence and your weakness!"

Hayley gasped in disbelief, staring at Leonardo's venomous words. She had no idea her calm and kind demeanor was despised by him.

Hayley didn't know when tears started streaming from her eyes again, whether it was from the time he slapped the security guard in front of her for allowing her inside his home or when he kicked her out of the gate by himself with more cruel words for a goodbye.

Hayley stood outside, crying. She begged him, but he arrogantly walked away. She was broken, shattered beyond repair. In that moment, she thought of ending her life as the pain was too much to bear. It was excruciating to watch the person she loved harbor such hatred for her without any reason.

She stood there, crying for who knows how long.

Eventually, she comforted herself, gathering the pieces of her broken heart and decided it was time to move on.

As Hayley made her way to her car, she heard someone call out her name.

"Hayley..."

Hayley stopped and turned to see her mother, Wendy Forbes, approaching her. The vicious woman who disliked her for no reason. Wendy smiled maniacally as she got closer.

As Hayley wrestled with her thoughts, she couldn't help but wonder what more she wanted from her. Maybe she had a change of heart and decided to show her some pity or love. But those hopeful thoughts were quickly crushed when Wendy spoke again.

"How will you cope now, my dear child?" Her words cut through Hayley like a knife, noticing the mockery in her tone.

"M-mother," She stuttered, hoping to seek comfort from her.

"Oh please don't call me that," she reprimanded in a cool, mocking tone. "We both know I am not your mother. You're just an abandoned and unfortunate trash I picked from the orphanage."

Hayley should have seen this coming. It was foolish of her to think she had changed.

"I am glad that we can finally be rid of you from our lives forever now...Hayley." She said with satisfaction.

"And FYI," she looked around carefully before continuing in a hushed tone, "I am the reason behind your divorce from Leonardo."

Hayley's heart thudded in her chest as she processed her words. She was in shock.

Wendy nodded, "Yes. You don't deserve any happiness, my dear. I convinced your father to sell you off to Leonardo because I heard rumors about him. That he was a cold-hearted and ruthless billionaire. But I was wrong. He changed after marrying you, showering you with love and care? That was never my intention. I wanted you to suffer in his hands. To regret every single day of your married life...You deserve to be miserable."

Hayley's eyes widened in disbelief as Wendy continued her confession. Hayley felt a painful constriction in her heart and hot tears welled up in her eyes. What did she ever do to deserve this from her?

"So I searched for ways to destroy your marriage, and I stumbled upon the perfect tool to use. Yes, Lilian Lopez. I made a deal with her, promising to keep her dirty secret in return. She never liked you anyway, so it was a win-win. I only turned Leonardo against you, the Andersons were a bonus. Maybe they hated you too, just like everyone else. ha!...Let me make this clear, Hayley. I hate you. Every time I see you, I feel an urge to kill you!" Wendy growled, her disgust evident in her voice.

Hayley couldn't believe what she was hearing. Tears streamed down her face as she realized the depths of Wendy's hatred for her.

With a shaky voice, Hayley asked,

"W-why, why do you hate me so much? What did I do to you?" Her sobs were uncontrollable as she continued, "All I ever did was be a good daughter to you. I never did anything to hurt you... If you hated me this much, why did you even adopt me in the first place?" Her voice was broken and full of hurt.

Wendy's laughter was mirthless as she stared at Hayley derisively, "You just happened to be a victim in my game of revenge, dear. Maybe someday you'll understand, but for now, run away as far as you can," her tone now serious, "Because if you continue to live around me, YOU WILL SUFFER! That is a promise to you, Hayley. It's best you do what's right for you and for everyone else. Either you kill yourself or disappear into thin air. Whichever you choose is perfectly fine by me." With that, she gave her a small smile before walking back inside.

*

Emily woke up in her room that same night, quickly rising to use the bathroom. As she made her way to the bathroom, she was suddenly halted by incoherent noises emanating from the dark living room. Checking the time, she saw it was just eleven minutes after ten pm. Who could possibly be in her house at this hour? She had not been expecting any visitors.

Her mind racing, she approached the living room cautiously, only to flick on the lights and find Hayley sitting on the floor. Startled, she dropped the bat she'd been carrying and rushed towards her.

Hayley was lost in her own thoughts and didn't even notice Emily at first. Tears streamed down her face, and she remained motionless.

Emily noticed a small bottle by Hayley's side, one she had missed before. Upon picking it up, she saw the word "POISON" boldly inscribed on it. Horrified, she flung it away when she realized the bottle was still sealed.

Her eyes turned to Hayley, filled with fear and concern.

"Oh my goodness, Hayley! What happened?" She asked, her voice trembling with worry and hurt.

Hayley lifted her head to look at her, forcing a faint smile. "T-they wouldn't hear me out, Em," Her voice broke, tears blurring her vision. "H-he wouldn't hear me out. They hate me! I didn nothing wrong! I did nothing wrong..." She cried out, the pain in her heart evident in her words.

Emily embraced her tightly. It pained her to see Hayley in such a state. As a strong woman, seeing Hayley reduced to sadness and despair frightened her.

Hayley could feel her heart breaking as Emily wept with her. And knowing that all this pain was caused by her ex-husband, the cold-hearted and callous billionaire Leonardo Anderson, the man she had devoted her entire being loving, only adding to her suffering. It tore Emily apart to realize that his family had wronged Hayley also.

They remained in that position for some time before Emily pulled away from the embrace. She cupped Hayley's face with both her hands and wiped away her tears. Their eyes locked onto each other's.

"You must promise me, Hayley," she stated firmly.

Hayley's sobs quieted down and she sniffled, unable to speak as she looked at her, her expression blank.

Emily pressed on, undeterred. "You must promise me, Hayley, that you will not let this slide. That you will not let these people get away with how they treated you! You will get your revenge against all of them, against those who turned their backs on you. Who betrayed your loyalty! Who broke your trust! Who hate and punish you without reason... Who have reduced you to this state you're in right now! Who have turned my best friend into this!"

As she spoke, her words incited more tears from Hayley's eyes. Emily's tone turned resolute. "You must promise me, Hayley! That you will become the vengeful ex-wife! The monster they want you to be, be it! No matter how long it takes, be it months or years. Gain the fame. Become that woman they think you can't be. You! You must get your vengeance against them all! Against Leonardo, against Lilian, against the Forbes, against the Andersons. No more weakness in you! Fuck being calm! Fuck being understanding! You will do this for yourself. For your unborn child. Promise me, Hayley!!" Emily shouted, her gaze locked with Hayley's intently.

Tears streamed down Hayley's face as she struggled to articulate a response. Instead, she simply nodded repeatedly, her face contorted in anguish.

Her expression conveyed her promise to Emily, and with that, they held each other tightly in a firm and heartfelt embrace.

A new life

**FIVE YEARS LATER**

"Come on, Daisy. We are going to be late!" Hayley called out to her child, making her way to her room and lingering by the doorway when she saw her. Daisy was standing in front of her dressing mirror, struggling to fix her bow.

"I'm coming, Mommy. I just need to fix this!" she murmured.

Hayley watched her, her heart melting at her cuteness. Her little angel. She approached Daisy and knelt to her level, embracing her and admiring her.

"Let Mama help you, baby," Hayley pleaded, but she stubbornly refused.

"No! I can do it myself!" Daisy protested, her grey eyes sparkling with determination. Just like Hayley, Daisy had an independent spirit and liked doing things on her own.

"I know you can, baby. But for today, let me help you. We're running late and you know today is Luna's birthday. She wouldn't want her best friend to be late," Hayley persuaded.

After a moment of consideration, Daisy finally gave in.

"Okay, fine."

"Good girl," Hayley praised, patting her head with affection while taking the bow from her.

At only five years old, Daisy already acted so grown up. She was smart, kind, and determined, just like her mother, Hayley. Although she could be a bit stubborn and temperamental at times, she was an overall good kid.

Her birth gave Hayley a new purpose in life, even though she was a constant reminder of her past. With her striking resemblance to her ex-husband, Leonardo, with those grey eyes and sometimes cold demeanor, Hayley couldn't help but be reminded of him. But Hayley never resented her for it. She was too innocent and lovable to be caught up in her grudges towards them. For her sake, Hayley had put a hold on her plans for revenge against them.

Five years ago, Hayley made a vow to Emily that she would get her revenge on everyone who had wronged her in the past. Those who had caused her endless suffering and made her life a living hell. But after fleeing the country and bringing her precious little angel into the world, whom she loved with all her heart. She had also found success as a creative artist, allowing her to provide for their needs. Hayley decided to find peace and let go of the past, believing it was best to bury it and move on. However, a part of her remained ready to revisit her initial plan, should the past ever cross her path again. But that seemed unlikely as she was now a thousand miles away from them and had not been in contact with anyone from Clasold City for the past five years.

"Is Uncle Adrian coming now?" Daisy interrupted her thoughts.

Hayley nodded.

"Yes, he will be here any moment."

They heard the doorbell ring.

"He's here!" Daisy exclaimed, running to meet him. Hayley stood up to greet him as well.

She met Daisy in Adrian's arms. He smiled widely upon seeing Hayley, his perfectly white teeth on display.

"Hi, Nina," Adrian greeted her with his deep, husky voice, walking over to her after gently placing Daisy back on the ground.

Hayley hugged him lightly before responding,

"Hello."

Adrian Lewis was one of the amazing people Hayley had met when she newly came to Kleeton City. He wasn't just a friend, but also her boss. Despite being a handsome CEO who had caught the attention of many ladies, he treated Hayley casually and made her feel special. He owned the company she worked for and had made numerous attempts to win her heart, but Hayley had always politely declined.

It had only been two years since Hayley finally began to heal from the damage Leonardo had inflicted on her, and she wasn't ready for a new relationship. Adrian had understood her reasons without pressing her for more. He promised to wait until she was ready, even though he didn't know the true extent of her past and decisions. He was perfect and kind, but Hayley had closed her heart off to any romantic feelings.

And as for her name, Nina? Yes, She changed her identity. In the pursuit of starting a new life in a new country, She left her past behind and created a new persona. But no matter how much she tried to bury it, she knew her past still lingered within her.

"We are ready, Uncle Adrian," Daisy exclaimed with delight.

"Alright, come here!" He lifted Daisy in his arms, leading them out the door to the garage where his car was parked. Hayley followed behind, making sure to lock her house.

Upon reaching the car, Adrian opened the door for them and they climbed in. He never allowed Hayley to open the door herself. It greatly annoyed him to see her exerting effort when he was there to assist her, even though no effort was needed in opening a car door.

With the ignition on, he stole a glance at Hayley again and complimented her.

"You look stunning, baby." His emerald eyes locked onto hers.

A blush crept onto Hayley's cheeks. She wanted to thank him when Daisy abruptly interrupted, "What about me? I'm the assistant birthday girl!" She pouted, pretending to frown.

"Oh, forgive me, my mistake... I was simply saving your compliment for last, Angel. You look stunning, too." Adrian beamed at Daisy, his smile genuine and warm.

Daisy reciprocated with a wide smile, revealing her gummy grin. "Thank you!"

Hayley couldn't stifle her laughter. Daisy and her dramatics!

Hayley appreciated how kind Adrian was towards her, filling the void of a father figure she never had. What was the point of seeking revenge when Hayley had a beautiful daughter to care for, a wonderful life to live, and a man who was slowly mending her broken heart?

As long as she avoided her past, the part of her yearning for retribution would remain dormant and she could move on without seeking vengeance.

The car came to a stop outside the amusement park, where Luna's birthday celebration was to be held.

As Hayley reached for the door handle, Adrian's hands unexpectedly covered hers, sending shivers down her spine as she turned and met his captivating and piercing green eyes.

"What?" Hayley asked, her inner self blushing under his intense gaze.

"Nothing. You just look so stunning in that dress, Nina. Can't wait to take you out later tonight."

Adrian said, causing her cheeks to flush with a rosy hue.

She beamed at him, "Thank you, Mr. Lewis. And I can't wait for our date tonight too," She said, staring at him.

"Mommy, let's go!" Daisy interrupted them, jumping between them.

"Okay darling, let's go," Hayley said, turning her attention to Daisy.

As Hayley turned to open the car door, Adrian had already done so, astonishing her with his speed.

When they got down Daisy clung to Adrian's legs. He crouched down to her level, kissing her temple before saying,

"Be a good girl to Mama, okay?" He advised, knowing Daisy had a penchant for mischief and often tested Hayley's patience and caused her headaches.

Hayley watched them, smiling as Daisy nodded obediently, showing off her teeth. Adrian stood back up, his gaze now fixed on Hayley.

"Promise to call me sometimes?"

"I will. Thanks for the ride."

"You're welcome, love. Would have loved to tag along, but you know... duty calls. Take care of yourself and our little angel, okay?"

She nodded in response.

With that, Daisy and Hayley held hands and walked into the park, making their way to Luna's birthday venue after saying goodbye to Adrian.

"Daisy!" Luna screamed with excitement as she saw them approaching.

"Luna!" Daisy called back, breaking free from Hayley's grasp and running over to hug her best friend.

Hayley watched with a smile as they embraced each other tightly before Daisy presented the painting Hayley had drawn for Luna as her birthday gift. Luna was in awe of her portrait and thanked Daisy before running off to show her mom, Clara Campbell.

"Mom, look. Daisy gave me this drawing," Luna exclaimed.

Clara smiled, "Do you like it?"

Luna nodded excitedly. Just then, Hayley caught up with them.

"Hi, Nina."

Clara and Hayley embraced each other warmly, while the children ran happily to join their other friends who were already seated and waiting.

The setting of the party was a picnic, laid out in the open. Other mothers were there, helping the children come together while Clara and Hayley caught up.

"How's everything going?" Clara asked her as they pulled out of the hug.

"I'm doing well. How about you?"

"I'm good. Thank you for coming..." She expressed her gratitude, knowing Hayley was a busy lady who rarely attended any occasion or party.

"Oh, no way...I wouldn't dream of missing this. Our baby is turning six today, I couldn't...besides, you know what Luna would do if I didn't show up at her party..." Hayley joked, and they both laughed.

They both watched in awe as the children were lost in their playful world.

"They're growing up so fast, Nina." Clara sighed. "Luna is six today, and in just two months, so will Daisy."

"I know, right?"

Clara and Hayley had been friends for five years. She was one of the amazing people Hayley met when she first arrived in the country. Hayley was pregnant with Daisy at the time, and Clara helped her start over. She helped her find a job, and build a new life. Hayley stayed with her for almost two years before moving into her apartment. Luna and Daisy had become best of friends during that time.

Clara and Hayley shared a bond that was stronger than that of sisters; they had faced and overcome so much together. Their friendship meant a lot to Hayley, and it pained her to know she was keeping her past and true identity hidden from Clara. But she wasn't ready to revisit it, perhaps it was best to leave it buried.

Two hours into the birthday party, Hayley realized she hadn't called Adrian as she promised. Caught up in the excitement of entertaining the kids, the thought had slipped her mind.

Without hesitation, Hayley excused herself and informed Clara that she needed to make a call to Adrian. Hayley asked her to keep an eye on the kids while she found a quieter place to make the call. Clara agreed, and Hayley left, entrusting her daughter's safety to her hands.

After approximately thirty minutes, Hayley's conversation with Adrian came to an end. Their phone chats were usually lengthy, peppered with casual topics. He was hesitant to hang up, expressing how much he missed the sound of Hayley's voice even though they just finished a lengthy conversation. Hayley pleaded with him, reminding him of the ongoing birthday party she had to be at. With reluctance, he agreed to let her go.

Hayley was blushing her way towards Clara and the rest of them, a sly grin etched on her face as she strolled, reminiscing on Adrian's clingy behavior earlier. However, the grin gradually faded as she raised her head to observe their countenances from afar.

Clara and the other mothers appeared anxious, some making frantic phone calls while others huddled together in conversation. Hayley's full attention was on Clara as she scurried towards her.

"What's happening?" Hayley inquired about getting there, glancing around and noticing their children's absence. "Where is Luna and Daisy?"

Clara turned towards her, her expression fraught with concern and her tone laced with trepidation,

"That's the thing, Nina. We can't find them."

Hayley's heart hammered as she struggled to process these words. She blinked repeatedly, trying to regain her composure.

"What?" She absentmindedly asked, slowly returning to reality, "What the fuck do you mean by you can't find them? They were right here when I left!" She barked.

"I-I..."

"Enough!"

Hayley's heart sank and fear consumed her. Without hesitation, Hayley frantically searched the crowded park for her child. The mere thought of losing her child, her sole reason for existence, was unbearable!

Daisy! Luna! Daisy!!

Hayley yelled as she walked around, searching every nook and cranny towards where one of the kids had directed her to, as that was where they were last seen. Clara followed closely behind, also calling out for them, but no response ever came.

Luna! Daisy!

The park was vast, and they couldn't possibly cover every inch without asking strangers for assistance.

"Excuse me, have you seen two little girls? One is blonde and the other a redhead." They asked strangers as they expanded their search, but they were always met with negative replies.

Hayley's heart shattered, and tears welled up in her eyes as she stood rooted to one spot, scanning the area and wondering where her child could be. Silently, she prayed to find her safe. She didn't know what else to do than call Adrian for help.

Hayley dialed his number, but it went straight to voicemail. Her heart sank as she tried multiple times without success. Going to the police seemed like the only option left. Hayley looked around one last time, but there was no sign of them. She was about to leave with Clara when they heard it.

Mom! Mommy!

Their heads turned simultaneously, locking their gaze on the sight of their babies scampering towards them. Hayley bent down, her arms outstretched and ready to hold her angel in a warm embrace. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she felt her tiny body against hers once again. Her goodness!

"Mom, I'm sorry. We were looking for you. We got lost." Daisy's voice was filled with remorse.

Hayley released her from the hug and looked at her, gently patting her head.

"It's alright, baby. You're with mommy now. I'm sorry I left you. I'm so sorry." Hayley apologized and hugged her tightly once more.

"Mom. I'm sorry I made you cry,"

Hayley blinked, holding her, "No, baby. Don't say that. These are tears of joy. I'm crying because I found you again,"

She looked at Hayley.

"Are you hurt?" Hayley asked, searching her face for any signs of injury.

Daisy shook her head, "No."

"That's good..."

"Mom, a man helped me find you. Will you say thank you to him?" Daisy's request caught her off guard.

Hayley was speechless for a moment as a result of the need for gratitude that overwhelmed her.

"Of course, darling! Who is he? Where is he?" She asked, eagerly.

Daisy pointed behind her, and she turned with a smile on her face to see someone standing behind her. Starting from his feet, her eyes traveled up to his face. The sun's rays glinted off of him, making it difficult for Hayley to see clearly until his figure became recognizable.

Hayley's eyes widened with disbelief as she recognized who it was, her smile faltering instantly. Her heart raced and her body shook. It can't be him. She squinted her eyes, and blinked multiple times, hoping that the man standing before her was just a figment of her imagination. But her hopes were shattered when he spoke, his eyes locked on Hayley's with a mischievous smirk etched on his lips.

"Hello, mi reina..." He greeted her in a familiar, taunting tone.

Hayley couldn't believe it.

"L- Leonardo??!"

Stalker?!

"L- Leonardo?" Hayley gasped out, her eyes widened in shock, still staring at him in disbelief. She absentmindedly pulled Daisy close to herself like she had seen a ghost, trying to shield Daisy's eyes with her hand so she wouldn't see him.

"Damien?" Hayley heard Clara call out, heading towards them with her focus solely on Leonardo. Hayley watched her as she approached them.

"Damien?" Hayley repeated in her mind, as if she didn't hear Clara right the first time.

"Damien... Oh my God, it's really you!" Clara exclaimed, her eyes alight with excitement as she recognized Leonardo, Hayley's ex-husband!

Damien?? Who the fuck is Damien? Hayley asked inwardly, staring at the two of them confused, as they exchanged pleasantries. They seemed to be familiar with one another and it fazed Hayley even more.

"Oh my God, I can't believe this!" Clara exclaimed, addressing him cheerfully, "You were the stranger who found the kids?"

Before her very eyes, Leonardo nodded his head in confirmation, a charming smile gracing his features as he conversed with Clara.

Hayley watched them, still in a daze of what was currently going on. On second thoughts, she started wondering if this man standing before them was truly her ex-husband or she was just hallucinating him to be the one, but she immediately recalled that he had called her 'mi reina', a sweet name only Leonardo used on her. What was going on?

"Nina," Clara turned to Hayley with a beaming smile, breaking Hayley out of her thoughts. She looked at Clara with a blank expression, uncertain of what to say.

Clara gestured friendly, "Meet Damien, the stalker I told you about that won't leave me alone. It's a good thing his stalking made us find the kids again." Clara innocently introduced.

Stalker??

Is Clara joking or what?

Her ex-husband was the stalker she had told her about? If Hayley recalled correctly, Clara told her she had a secret admirer/a stalker who had been pestering her for the past three months. She mean to tell her that man was Leonardo??

Leonardo had been in Kleeton City for about three months?

Was this a joke!?

"Damien, meet Nina. My best friend and the mom of the baby girl you found alongside my kid."

Leonardo turned to face Hayley. Instead of shaking hands, their eyes were locked in an intense stare. Hayley could see a hint of smirk on his face, it might have been invisible to Clara, but not to her.

Staring at him, flood of memories from the past came rushing back, taking her back to five years ago when Leonardo had rejected and left her. Hayley felt a surge of anger building up inside her, the dead part of her that wanted revenge coming back to life. Hayley was drowning in a whirlpool of emotions as she continued staring at him.

"Uhmmm... Hello? Are you two going to shake hands or say hi or something?" She heard Clara's voice, abruptly snapping her out of her trance.

Hayley wanted to refuse, but Leonardo stretched out his hand towards her.

"I'm Damien. Nice to meet you, Nina..."

There was something about the way he called her name that made her heart thud a bit.

Trying to compose herself and not let her anger get the best of her, Hayley looked at his hand stretched out in the air towards her, then she looked at Clara, whose expression was a look of curiosity and a tingle of disappointment, and Hayley knew she was wondering why she was behaving the way she was. But Hayley couldn't bring herself to say anything.

"Please forgive my friend, Damien. I don't know what's gotten into her, but trust me, she's not normally like this," Clara said in a conciliatory tone. Leonardo pulled his hand back, nodding in understanding.

Assessing him with a skeptical eye, Hayley couldn't still tell if he was truly the one. She couldn't seem to feel the cold demeanor she was once used to, to see the dark, grey, aloof stare that once emanated resentment five years ago. In their place stood a handsome gentleman who bore a striking resemblance to her ex-husband.

Rrrgg...

Her phone vibrated in her hand, interrupting her thoughts. She glanced down to see the caller's name flashing on the screen: Adrian.

"Hello," Hayley said, her gaze locked with Leonardo's in an unyielding stare.

"Hey, love," Adrian's voice came through the phone, "Please forgive me for missing your calls, baby. I left my phone at the office before heading to the board room for the meeting."

"It's alright."

"How are you? Is everything okay? Did you miss me or was something wrong?"

"The latter, but it's been resolved, you don't have to worry about it."

"Are you sure? Where are you right now?" He asked, his tone held a hint of concern.

"Still at the park, about to leave soon."

"Please give me a few minutes, I'll be there. And what about our little angel?"

"She's fine. She's with me." Hayley turned her gaze to Daisy, who was staring up at her. Hayley smiled at her, running my fingers through her lush blond hair fondly.

"Okay, baby. I'll be there soon."

"Alright, I'll be waiting." Hayley lifted her head, deliberately feigning ignorance to the faint jealous and inquisitive looks flickering across Leonardo's countenance.

She ended the call, letting out a sigh.

"Was that Adrian?" Clara asked.

"Yeah,"

Hayley nodded, feeling a sudden cool breeze brush across her face, carrying the scent of Leonardo's cologne. Her spine tingled and goosebumps formed on her skin. What was this feeling?

She couldn't still be in love with the man who shattered her, left her broken and on the brink of self-destruction five years ago, could she?

Hayley's gaze shifted back to his, she found him staring back at her with an inscrutable expression etched on his face.

Gradually, it dawned upon Hayley that this man was truly Leonardo. His grey eyes, intertwined with his sleek, all-black wavy hair, exuded a fierce yet irresistible charm that had once and still captivated her. Despite five years having passed, he still appeared remarkably younger and more handsome than ever. Hayley's eyes roamed over his figure, eventually settling on the pendant adorning his neck. It was a lion-head pendant. Those were the exact same pendant she had gifted him a few months after their wedding, as a token of her love and appreciation for him.

She was taken aback at the sight of it. Leonardo had stopped wearing the pendant merely two years into their marriage, dismissing it as a cheap accessory unworthy of his neck. So why was he wearing it now?

And why was he even here? Out of all the years that had gone by, why did he choose to appear before her now, just when she was finally beginning to move on from him and her past? After she had abandoned her plans of revenge and made the choice to let go.

Hayley met his gaze, then looked back at the necklace. Leonardo must have noticed her surprise, as he touched it gently, caressing the pendant as he spoke.

"It's a gift," he said, his smile widening, "From my darling wife."

Hayley scoffed quietly, glaring at him.

"That's a gorgeous necklace," Clara chimed in, her tone friendly.

"Thank you."

"..but you never mentioned having a wife...Are you married?" Clara asked, her curiosity piqued.

Leonardo's throat bobbed as he held Hayley's gaze, struggling to form a response for Clara.

Hayley watched his lips intently, anticipation bubbling within her for what he was about to say.

"I..." He started.

"Hey, baby." Adrian's arrival cut him off, effectively halting Leonardo's response.

"Fuck!"

Unwanted reunion

"Uncle Adrian!" Daisy exclaimed enthusiastically, freeing herself from Hayley's grasp and rushing over to Adrian.

Adrian lifted her up and affectionately kissed her temple before carrying her in his arms.

He gently patted her hair, "How are you, my little angel? Did you have a good time?"

He gazed at Daisy with fondness.

But Daisy shook her head sadly, "Not really. I got mommy worried."

Adrian furrowed his brow at her, mirroring her sad expression.

"Why? What happened?"

He turned to Hayley with curiosity, not even realizing Leonardo was behind him.

"What went wrong?" Adrian's voice was filled with concern.

Hayley shook her head, "It's nothing, Adrian. Don't worry about it."

Adrian frowned at her before turning back to Daisy.

"What happened, baby? Why was Mommy worried?"

Hayley tried to convey through eye contact to Daisy not to tell him, but she couldn't understand.

Daisy innocently told Adrian. "Luna and I got lost today. Mommy got worried."

Adrian's eyes widened, his brow furrowing even more. "H-How did that happen?"

"It's no big deal, Adrian," Clara interjected, "It's all been resolved. Right now, all you need to do is thank the stranger who found them."

Adrian turned to Clara, confused. "Stranger? Who was it? Where is he?"

"He's standing right behind you," Clara replied, smiling.

This should have been the moment for Hayley to be fraught with anxiety, but instead, She was expressionless, anticipating what would happen next when Leonardo and Adrian meet.

Hayley watched as Adrian turned his head to face Leonardo.

"Him?" He asked skeptically.

"Yes," Clara replied.

Without hesitation, Adrian extended his hand towards him for a handshake.

"Thank you so much for finding my daughter and her friend. I owe you one," he expressed his gratitude. "I'm Adrian. Adrian Lewis. May I know your name?"

Leonardo shook his hand, stealing glances at Hayley before returning his attention to Michael.

"I'm Damian. Damian Logan."

As they conversed a few more words, Hayley's mind drifted into a deep abyss. She watched Leonardo closely, unable to grasp her thoughts, but admiring his physique as her eyes roamed over his body.

He looked very good in his black leather jacket, taking her back to... Her admiration was abruptly disrupted by Adrian's words.

"I must admit Damian, you bear a striking resemblance to my daughter. It's almost as if you're her doppelganger. One might think you two are related," Adrian joked.

Gosh! If only he knew.

Leonardo chuckled, nodding in agreement.

"You're right. We do look alike, don't we, little girl?" He playfully ruffled Daisy's hair, but Hayley quickly stepped in and slapped his hand off.

"No, you don't! There is no resemblance whatsoever!" She scolded, her tone turning harsh and her eyes darkening.

Leonardo froze, retracting his hand and straightening his posture. Hayley's reaction seemed to have caught everyone off guard, including Adrian. They all looked at her with puzzled expressions.

"What's gotten into you, Nina? You're being very rude! It was just a joke," Clara reprimanded, disliking her behavior.

"I don't find such jokes funny," Hayley retorted, taking Daisy from Adrian's arms.

Adrian glanced at her but remained quiet, choosing to apologize to Leonardo instead.

"I apologize, man. Please don't take her words to heart," he pleaded.

But Hayley interjected sharply, "Let him take it to heart for all I care. I don't give two f's anyways."

"Nina!!" Clara scolded sternly.

Hayley knew they had perceived her behavior as rude, especially because this man had supposedly found her child and she was expected to be grateful. But if only they knew the true reason for her outburst. If only they could understand the pain she had endured at the hands of this heartless and callous man, standing before them in the guise of Damian whatever.

Her mind was filled with rage as the memories came flooding back. Hayley knew she couldn't stay there any longer, lest she do something she would regret later.

So without further discussion, she stated abruptly, "I want to go home."

Adrian and Clara turned to look at her, eyeing her with puzzlement as if they were expecting her to have done something.

"What?" Hayley asked irritably, annoyed by their unreadable gazes.

"What's the matter with you, Nina? Apologize to him. He found your child and this is how you repay him? Where are your manners?" Clara chided, clearly irritated.

Hayley retorted, "Apologize to him. For what? For stalking our children and spying on their every move? Do you even know this man? Can you be sure of his intentions?!"

Clara gaped at her in shock, shaking her head in disbelief.

"What has gotten into you, Nina?"

"Nothing is wrong with me! This is your fault, Clara. I entrusted my child's care to you and you allowed her to wander off into the arms of a stranger. A stalker! What is wrong with you, Clara?"

Hayley couldn't quite understand the root of her strange behavior, but in that moment she needed someone to vent her anger and frustrations on. And unfortunately for her, Clara had just happened to be her victim.

As Clara's face twisted with shock, she stepped back, unable to believe Hayley's words. "Are you seriously taking this out on me right now?" she asked in disbelief.

"I am taking it out on you!" Hayley retorted, her eyes sparkling with annoyance.

"Ladies, please. Enough! That's enough!" Adrian interrupted his voice firm. "Let's just be grateful that we found the kids, and stop blaming ourselves for our mistakes..." he turned to Damian, "I apologize for this, Mr. Logan. Perhaps we can talk some other time. Please. Here is my card." Adrian took out a business card from his suit pocket and handed it to Leonardo. "I am the CEO of MF Arts. You can always come to see me at the company."

Leonardo took the card, glancing at it before tucking it into his pants pocket. "Thank you. I apologize if I..."

"No need to apologize. We are very thankful to you. I believe my love is just having a bad day. Please excuse us, and forgive her outbursts. Trust me, she isn't usually like this."

Leonardo simply nodded and said, "I understand."

Hayley observed Leonardo closely, feeling annoyed by his façade of being a calm and understanding gentleman.

Adrian held her hand and whispered in her ear, "Let's go love. Come on."

Hayley exhaled deeply before nodding. She followed behind Adrian after he bid farewell to Leonardo and Clara.

When they reached the car, Adrian opened the door for her before getting in on his side.

Hayley could sense his sadness and worry at her behavior.

Adrian held onto the steering wheel, his gaze fixed on Hayley while she stared ahead at the windshield, her expression neutral.

In a demanding but composed tone, he asked, "What the hell was that? Who was that man?"
