I Made Him a Billionaire CEO,Then He Betrayed Me with His Secretary Summary

After three years of transforming Evan Fox from a poor scholarship student into a powerful executive, a single question about a mole I never had reveals his betrayal. Chapter 1 of I Made Him a Billionaire CEO,Then He Betrayed Me with His Secretary

We'd just finished drinking, both of us drenched in sweat, about to cross that final line.

Then Evan Fox stared at my flat stomach and asked out of nowhere:

"Babe, what happened to the mole that used to be here?"

Every ounce of heat between us evaporated.

I didn't press him. I just stood up, calm as anything, and pulled my clothes back on.

"Something came up at the office. I'm heading out."

"I spent three months putting together tomorrow night's gala. Go or don't go. Your choice."

The buzz of alcohol faded from his eyes. He knew the choice I was offering him wasn't just about the gala.

So the moment I left, a text came through:

"I'm sorry. I promise it won't happen again."

I deleted the message without replying.

The night of the gala, he showed up as my date.

His phone buzzed once.

One glance at the screen, and he lost it. Got up and walked out in front of everyone.

Every person in that room knew I'd spent months building this gala as a launchpad for his career.

And now I'd been discarded like trash, left standing alone.

I didn't cry. I didn't make a scene. I simply took the microphone from the host and spoke, voice perfectly even:

"Mr. Fox had an urgent matter to attend to. In the meantime, let's invite Mr. Chavez to the stage to discuss the roadmap ahead."

After I stepped down, I took my seat and glanced at the social media post Claudia Swanson had just uploaded. I laughed.

I'd spent three years pulling him from a scholarship kid to the top of the industry.

If he didn't appreciate that, he couldn't blame me for taking it all back.

The room went quiet for three full seconds before the whispers started, rippling outward like a current.

……

Countless eyes landed on me.

Some pitying. Some mocking. Most just entertained, waiting to see how the show would end.

Everyone knew this gala had been organized specifically for Evan.

No matter how smoothly I'd covered for him, I knew the truth.

The moment he walked out of that ballroom, I became the biggest joke in the industry.

I held it together for two solid hours. I smiled, I networked, I saw off every last executive. Only then did I sit down and open my phone.

A post from three minutes ago. Claudia's.

The secretary Evan had personally recruited. The one who couldn't even pass her probation review without him pulling strings.

The photo was a rain-streaked car window, blurred and moody. The car was the Maybach I'd given Evan last year.

The caption read:

"So it's true. Some people really will drop everything the second you're upset."

The location tag read Harborview Residences.

The condo I'd paid for in full. The one I'd put in Evan's name. Worth north of ten million dollars.

Below the post, there was only one comment. From Evan.

Three words.

"I'm here."

I stared at those three words and smiled.

Five years ago, I'd first met Evan in college.

He was wearing a T-shirt washed so many times it had gone white, working a part-time gig at one of the campus stalls.

He couldn't even bring himself to spend a few bucks on a boxed lunch.

He was nothing like the trust-fund boys around me, the ones who blew their nights drag-racing and bar-hopping.

There was a light in his eyes. Something clean and stubborn.

He said he was going to make it in this city on his own terms.

And I fell for it.

I covered his tuition and living expenses for three years.

I connected him with the best mentors in the field. I pulled strings to get him internships at top-tier firms.

The year he graduated, I went against my father's fierce objections and put up two hundred million in seed money.

I founded a company from scratch and paved every inch of the road for him.

He said he hated schmoozing, so I took every meeting, every dinner, every toast on his behalf.

Without my family backing me, the only way to close deals was to drink until I was hospitalized with a bleeding stomach.

The first thing I did when I woke up was finalize his partnership with the biggest player in the market.

He said the senior employees didn't respect him.

So I stepped in personally and fired three veterans who'd been with me for years, just to clear the way for him.

He said he wasn't the romantic type, that he didn't care about holidays or any of that sentimental stuff. And I believed him.
