Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors
Alex
An elderly woman in a wrinkled grey blouse and long brown skirt walked up to the counter where a teenage boy could be seen checking the register; a gentle smile appeared on her face while staring at the young man.
"Little Alex, your shift was over a while ago. You should go home soon; overworking yourself won't allow this old lady to be at ease," the old lady said to the youth with a warm tone.
The teenager slowly looked up from the register and smiled at the old lady before replying.
" It's fine, Granny. I'm waiting for the other person to come take over before leaving, he'll be here soon." The youth, Alex, replied in an equally friendly tone before returning to what he was doing.
The old lady shook her head before moving to the other side of the counter.
…..
Ring!!
The bell that was fixed above the door of the store rang, signifying that someone had either entered or exited the store.
" See you tomorrow, Granny; take care of yourself!" Alex called out from the entrance of the store where he worked part-time while waving at the old lady in a grey blouse who was the owner of the store.
Ring!!
The bell rang again as Alex left the door to close and began to walk home. He was carrying a small plastic bag with some fruits in it, and on his other hand was a copy of the latest released season of the manga: lucky reincarnation.
Alex hummed happily to himself as he walked home, a happy-go smile plastered on his face. He was a young man with exquisite features and a height of 5'10ft with spiky red hair, and striking azure eyes. He could easily become a model and idol if given the chance.
"Oh, Alex. Done with today's shift?"
"Yes Mrs Green, see you tomorrow"
"Alright, take care of yourself, and remember to say hi to your mom for me"
"I'll do that,"
" Alex boy. Going home now? Thanks for helping me look after my child while I went off, do come by sometime."
"Sure will Mrs. Harry"
"See you tomorrow Alex, do come early and help me with carrying a few things first"
"Sure. I'll come on time, Mr Rick"
Alex exchanged kind words with a lot of people before finally getting off the street and taking a turn into another street; it could be seen that Alex's relationship with those around where he worked was really good, and they all liked him.
'I wonder what I should do for the rest of the day; I almost forgot that I have to pick up Lucas from school', Alex rubbed his face while thinking. Lucas was Alex's little brother who was in junior high school; his school wasn't that far from the shop district and, luckily, on the way to their home.
Alex walked for another five minutes before finally reaching the school area. He could see the building of the school at a distance and a lot of students in blue uniforms pouring out through the gate.
"Hmm, looks like I arrived a little late. Where could that brat be?" Alex sighed as he prepared to ask some students if they had seen Lucas but before he could approach the first set of students closest to his position, Alex heard the sounds of voices coming from an alley to his left. The voices were a mix of screaming and cursing, which, for some reason, made Alex feel slightly suffocated.
"Are they fighting? So close to a school?" Alex muttered to himself with a look of contempt on his face before deciding to walk over and stop the students.
Although he was approaching adulthood, he considered himself as one. Therefore, he had the responsibility of preventing fights between students.
Alex walked into the alley and finally found the source of the voices. But his expression changed after seeing the people who were fighting. His eyes trembled, the manga copy and plastic bag in his hands fell to the ground as he subconsciously released his grip on them.
"L-Lucas?" Alex managed to call out the name, his voice cracking from strong emotions that were boiling inside of him and were about to explode.
In front of Alex were three people, two of which he did not know, but they were probably the same age as himself, while on the floor was the third person, who was only a fourteen-year-old boy with red hair similar to Alex's.
This boy was Lucas, Alex's younger brother. He was currently in a very miserable state, with blood covering the ground around him as he curled up on the ground while the other two boys stepped on him.
When Alex muttered his brother's name, his voice attracted the attention of the three and they all raised their heads to look at him.
Alex's eyes immediately turned bloodshot when he saw the pained look on his brother's face, the bruises on his face as well as the blood running down his torn lips.
Lucas opened his mouth and mouthed an inaudible "brother, help me" to Alex.
The fearful look on Lucas's face made Alex almost go crazy on the spot.
"Hey, isn't that this brat's brother?" One of the two boys who had reduced Lucas to this state asked with a smirk on his face while gazing at Alex.
" Yeah, I know him. He must have been the one who told this brat to stand up to his bullies, how dare he talk back at our little sister because she was bullying him? He made her cry just because she poured toilet water on him?" One of the boys laughed and kicked Lucas again which brought a pained groan out of Lucas.
" What?!* Alex voiced out as all the angry expressions on his face vanished immediately after hearing the words of the boy, his face became scarily expressionless with his eyes wide open.
He remembered Lucas asking him for help against his bullies and he had told his little brother to tell the bully off. So the bully was the sister of these two, and they had beaten his brother to such a condition just because their sister cried after Lucas confronted her?
Looking at the deadpan expression on Alex's face, the two boys thought that he had been stricken by fear and they could easily intimidate him.
"Listen here, punk, you'll have to compensate our sister in the place of this brat, or else we will beat him up every day," One of the boys laughed and turned to kick Lucas once more.
"Argh" Lucas screamed and curled his body as hard as he could.
The boy turned to look at Alex but suddenly saw that Alex was already running toward him with a murderous look on his face.
"What the?!" The two boys had not expected Alex to suddenly attack without saying a word, they were unable to react.
BAM!!!
Alex's fist slammed heavily into the face of the boy who just kicked Lucas, breaking his nose instantly and sending him flying back while drawing an arch of blood in the air.
"Ahhhh" The boy screamed in pain before crashing into a dumpster in the alley and passing out instantly.
"You!!" The other boy shouted at Alex and attacked him; he sent a fist at Alex's cheek, which landed fiercely.
Bang!!
The punch smashed into Alex's face, forcefully throwing his neck to the side and causing Alex to spit out saliva; his cheek tore up from the inside as a stinging pain washed through that part of his face and a sour-sweet taste burst out.
It was blood!
The boy didn't stop and continued to rain punches on Alex. Alex didn't let the pain from his cheek cloud his mind, he raised both hands and protected his body with his arms.
After finding an opportunity, he grabbed hold of the boy who just punched him and attacked with a fierce knee strike which smashed into the boy's stomach and forced him to bend over.
Alex did not wait for him to stand up before kicking him away, the boy landed heavily on the ground and rolled for a few meters before coming to a stop.
He groaned in pain as he stood up; the boy shot a glare at the devil-like Alex, who was marching toward him.
"You're crazy!" The boy cursed, and he immediately turned around and fled after saying that.
"Come back here, you bastard; I'm going to kill you!" Alex roared and chased after the boy like a madman.
"Leave me alone! Someone help!" The boy screamed while running toward the exit of the alley. He was frightened by Alex's ferociousness and did not dare to face him alone after his brother refused to get up.
"I said stop!!" Alex screamed back as he picked up speed, he was slowly catching up to the boy.
He finally caught up to him just before the boy could leave the alley and jumped at him.
BAM!!
Alex collided with the back of the boy, and both of them went tumbling forward without restraint; they realized that they had arrived in the middle of the road when they finally stopped tumbling.
Many people immediately turned toward them, after all, they had suddenly flown out from an alley into the middle of the busy road.
But Alex wasn't thinking of any of these at the moment, the image of Lucas kept flashing in his mind and filled him with rage.
Alex got up with a bit of effort and walked over to the other boy, he was about to throw another punch when suddenly.
Honk!!
The loud horn of a truck rang from behind them. Both of them looked back simultaneously and saw a mini white truck speeding in their direction without any sign of slowing down.
Alex and the boy looked at the approaching mini truck with horrified eyes, they knew that they would not be able to make it out of the way before the truck reached them.
For the last few seconds, Alex
got back his rationality upon realizing the situation that he was in and only one word came to his mind.
"Fuck!"
Crash!!!
Transmigrated. System?
Alex felt a great wave of pain wash through his entire being as he was sent flying away after getting hit by the truck, along with the other boy, of course.
He landed heavily on the ground after flying for a few seconds and bounced around like a broken toy before finally coming to a stop. Alex was unable to describe the state that he was in at that moment.
He had lost his ability to see and everywhere was as dark as the darkest of night, even though he vividly remembered that it was daytime just a while ago. Alex had also lost his ability to feel and couldn't feel a thing right now; not even the pain he had felt just some seconds ago.
The last thing Alex heard was the screaming voices of people and the screeching of tyres before finally losing the ability to hear as well. It was as if he were in a dreamlike state and his consciousness was slowly disappearing.
'So this is how it ends? I didn't get to finish my manga.' Alex lamented inwardly, and the image of Lucas suddenly appeared in his mind.
'Well, at least he's alright now.'
It was the last thing that Alex thought about before succumbing to the sleepy feeling that was clawing at his consciousness.
"Pitiful child!"
Just before Alex could completely drift into the warm embrace of death, a calm but deafening voice echoed in his eardrums; those were the last words that Alex heard before everything went silent.
.....
"A…"
"Ale…"
"Alex!"
"ALEX!!"
Alex, unsure of how long had passed, started to hear someone calling his name.
The voice was very low at first and almost inaudible but it slowly grew and soon became a scream in his ears.
'Huh, who's calling my name? Didn't I die? Is it the devil calling my name?' Alex thought to himself as he struggled to respond to the voice, he felt very disoriented, as if he had been asleep for ages.
BAM!
"Alex, wake up!"
The sound of someone slamming hard on a table shook Alex greatly, followed by a loud annoyed female voice. This action managed to wake Alex up and he jumped to his feet with a jolt.
Alex, now standing on his feet with a look of confusion on his face, stared at the young lady in front of him.
This girl was a beauty that was rarely seen, she had fair skin and an enticing figure. Her face was round and exquisite with a straight chin, long red hair that reached her back, and sharp brown eyes that glared at Alex with annoyance. Soft-looking red lips that bent in contempt, slightly revealing a set of white teeth.
This girl looked to be 18 or so years old and was wearing an outfit that made Alex frown even more in confusion.
She was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt with a knee-length black skirt, her shirt had the emblem of a dragon attached to her left chest area and a big red cloak wrapped around her shoulders. This was similar to the uniform of mages in many anime and manga that Alex had seen in the past.
"Why are you staring at me like that? Do I look like a ghost to you? Quickly stop staring at me and give me a pass into the library, I wonder why the academy still keeps someone who continues to sleep on duty like you here!" The girl said with a snort.
Alex "..."
Pass to the library? What pass?
Seeing that Alex still wasn't reacting, the girl stomped away in anger while threatening to report Alex.
After the girl left, Alex sat back on the counter where he had been sleeping; over a hundred questions were currently jumping inside his head and Alex was unable to provide an explanation for any.
The most pressing questions are…
" Didn't I die after getting hit? Where is this place?" Alex scratched his head as he racked his brain for an explanation.
He looked around himself and discovered that he was sitting at a counter in front of what seemed to be the entrance to a library.
An open door was behind him and inside, Alex could see tall shelves filled with thick books as well as reading tables and seats.
Alex looked at himself and saw that he was in a similar uniform to the girl's just now.
White shirt with a dragon emblem, slightly faded black pants, and an old white cloak.
Alex could immediately tell that his uniform was very old compared to that of the girl with red hair and needed to be changed.
A thought immediately came to Alex's mind after realising a few things.
"Did I get transmigrated?!"
As a manga freak and anime lover, how could he not be familiar with this type of plot? This was the perfect start for an isekai manga!
Immediately after thinking this, Alex got hit by a flood of memories that made him hold his head in pain.
This process lasted for a few minutes and Alex was in head-splitting pain during those minutes.
After the memories finally stopped coming, the pain also stopped and Alex was now weakly resting his head on the counter desk; he was currently covered in so much sweat like someone who had done a marathon under an enraged sun.
It took Alex over five minutes to get himself together and sit up straight; he could still feel slight pain in his head, but he could manage such a level of pain; his pain tolerance wasn't so weak.
Alex began to think of the memories that he had gotten just now.
Firstly, Alex found out that he was in a world called Eldoria, which was a world of magic filled with mages who were able to use elemental attacks, and each person was born with a single element.
Of course, humans were not the only beings on Eldoria. There were beasts and demons too. Beasts that lived deep in the forests outside cities and demons that came from cracks and resided in abandoned cities and forbidden zones.
Cracks are splits that form in the air and open a gateway for demons to leave their realm and enter Eldoria.
Another thing that Alex got from the memory was about the former owner of this body he had transmigrated into. The former owner was also called Alex, he was from an average family with ordinary parents who were not mages and had a little sister who was only 15 and had only one year left until her awakening period.
(People awakened at the age of 16 to 17. Outside this period and still yet to awaken, they should just give up and live as normal humans.)
Alex had been lucky to awaken a rare element at the age of 15, an early awakening!
And his element has been the space element!
His parents had been very excited about this news and thought he was a rare magic genius. They had worked very hard to send Alex to one of the magic academies in the city, but the truth was devastating. Alex had failed to improve after four years and was still stuck at the apprentice mage rank, which was the lowest of all ranks!
"How tragic" Alex could not help but exclaim at this part of the memory.
The former Alex had been bullied and humiliated for four good years because of his trash talent and even the academy stopped supporting him.
He had decided to get other jobs just to help his parents with sponsoring his career as a mage, as they couldn't spend everything on him anymore, but he had ended up working himself to death, after which Alex took over.
"Sigh, you lived a really tragic life, brother. But don't worry, I'll help you look after your parents and sister like my own family." Alex said with a sign. He could not help but think of his family back on earth, what were they doing now? Were they mourning him or preparing a burial for him?
"It's no use thinking about it, I can't go back so I might as well focus on what's in front of me." Alex said with resignation, coming to terms with things.
"But shouldn't there be a package for every transmigrator? Where's mine?" Alex muttered in confusion but it turned out that he had been too quick to complain because the next moment…

Alex stared at the window in front of him blankly, unable to understand what he was looking at.
[Due to the system breaking down, several parameters of the system have been broken. Required exp for leveling up is now fixed, repeatable missions no longer have limits and can be completed continuously even when capped. Penalty function disabled, rewards for missions are now fixed]
Alex slowly read everything on the window again to make sure that he wasn't seeing things, he concluded that everything was real after reading it for the fifth time!
"Doesn't this mean…" Alex covered his mouth, not daring to finish what he was about to say but he already had the thought; it turned out that this broken system could help him get stronger continuously without increasing the difficulty of leveling up and the missions were relatively simple as well!
He also would not be punished for failing to complete missions!
" The system isn't broken, it's fixed!" Alex could not help but shout out with a burst of loud laughter. He hoped that the system would never get fixed and would stay like this forever.
While Alex was still enjoying the excitement from his system, he heard the sounds of approaching footsteps.
Alex looked to the side and saw a tall man walking over to him with a serious expression on his face. He had neat black hair and a normal face that could easily be lost in a crowd, he was wearing casual clothes and looked to be in his thirties.
Alex knew this man from his newfound memories, he was addressed as teacher Arnold and was the teacher for general mana circulation for class four students which happened to be the class Alex was in currently.
He was a mage at the Mid Expert Mage rank and he had the fire element.
Behind him was the girl who had woken Alex up and threatened to report him after he failed to process what she was saying earlier.
The duo stopped in front of Alex's counter and stared at him with equally contempt filled gazes; they were looking down on Alex.
"Alex, why did you refuse to give Laura a pass into the library? Unlike you, she's the star of the academy and our hope of getting a good result in the upcoming competition. You shouldn't try to hold back others just because you are trash!" The man spat at Alex viciously.
Alex's eyebrows bent in a frown, the words of the teacher were quite hurtful and weren't something that should be said to a student, especially considering Alex's situation; this could drive a student into doing something horrible.
Seeing the frown on Alex's face, teacher Arnold smirked before saying once more.
"You are a class four student like her but you remained at the Mid Apprentice Mage rank despite spending four years in the academy, it's natural that you will feel jealous and want others to fail too. But you shouldn't do that to Laura, she's the hope of the academy and you should assist her instead." Arnold's tone was very pretentious as he gazed down at Alex, the red-haired girl beside him whose name was Laura also raised her chin in arrogance.
As the goddess of the fire class, she had a lot of admirers including Alex but he suddenly started to act like he couldn't understand her this afternoon; this irritated her so much, how dare a weak trash ignore her?
Alex forced himself to calm down, he could not afford to offend this teacher; at least not now.
"I'm sorry, " Alex said half-heartedly while bowing his head.
Teacher Arnold and Laura grinned evilly, they were satisfied with Alex's response.
"And I heard you were sleeping on duty. The academy decided to let you work here out of consideration for your misfortune but you don't even take it seriously, you'll be punished for this.
You are dismissed for today and your pay for the month will be halved, now go." teacher Arnold said and chased Alex out of the library.
"Trash"
Alex heard Laura's voice when he walked past her, he looked back and saw her glaring at him from the corner of her eyes.
'Such arrogance. Just wait, all of you. I promise to give you all the greatest surprises of your lives.' Alex thought to himself as an evil smirk formed on his face.
Alex left the library and walked through a long corridor before arriving in a large hallway with quite a few people walking through. Some were in similar uniforms as Alex while others were in casual clothes, those in casual clothes were obviously teachers or staff of the academy.
As for the students, they all had similar uniforms as Alex. The only difference was the color of their cloaks which represented the class they belonged to; the darker the color of their cloak, the higher their class.
One could see students with very bright red cloaks, Azura red cloaks, dark red cloaks, and blood-red cloaks. They were in the order of class one, class two, class three, and class four.
Alex had an almost metallic silver-colored coak and was the only one with the space element in the entire academy.
"Good afternoon, senior"
"Good day, senior Alex"
"Yo, Alex. Not at the library today?"
"You aren't trying to slack off work, are you?"
A few people greeted Alex as he walked through the hallway, Alex could feel the deep mockery in their words so he didn't answer them and just kept walking; even the junior students still ridiculed him, no one respected him.
Alex ignored all of them and kept walking till he was outside the academy building, he gazed back at the tall building of the academy and could not help but open his mouth in awe.
Although he had seen the academy from his new memories, seeing it like this for the first time still had a different effect. The academy was only a single-story building but was unimaginably large and had so much space to fit in a whole town's residents.
This was Dragonic Magic Academy and was one of the average magic academies in Balon City, Alex had spent three years of humiliation in this place and this was going to be his fourth year.
"But things are going to be different this time, I'm going to avenge those three years of humiliation!" Alex said with a cold look in his eyes before walking off.
He remembered that he(Alex) used to pick up his little sister whose school was on the way to their home, she was currently attending a normal school while waiting for her awakening; their school just happened to be under the Dragonic Magic Academy which would help the students get easy admission into the academy when they awakened.
"According to the memories I have, this little sister of mine would often come out with unusual appearances and bruises but the old Alex did not try to do anything because he was scared of offending those from powerful families," Alex said to himself as he walked towards the school premises.
He was thinking of how he was going to resolve the matter without causing harm to his new family.
Alex soon arrived and met some students of the school, they were in dazzling blue uniforms of different sizes with the girls wearing blue hats.
The boys only wore the school's blue uniform and blazers.
"Look, it's a mage from Dragonic Magic Academy"
One of the students immediately pointed at Alex when they saw him, since their school was under the academy they would obviously recognize most things about the academy. Alex's silver-colored coak was quite eye-catching, he had been popular during these three years. After all, most students here had siblings in the academy as well.
"Humph, it's just that trash. Let's not bother with him." another student said disdainfully while looking at Alex.
"Don't be like that. Even if he's trash, he's still a senior and we shouldn't offend him."
" What senior? My brother said that he has only this year left and would leave the academy by the time we awaken."
" Oh, then we should really ignore him. Don't want his bad luck spreading to us."
Alex ignored the words of these kids and patiently waited for his little sister. He was forcing himself to not throw dirt at these students; that was all he could do with his space element as a
magic apprentice, he was unable to carry anything heavy.
A figure soon appeared in Alex's line of sight and he immediately recognized her from the memories.
Reading to get exp!
A small figure, long red hair that reached her back, big round eyes that blinked cutely every few seconds, and a round small face like a doll. Dressed in the school's blue uniform and old hat was Alex's little sister who was only fifteen, her name was Emily and she had a striking resemblance to Alex.
Alex could not help but marvel at how good-looking his sister was, she was cute and small; the perfect sister figure.
But his face immediately turned cold after she got closer and he was able to properly see her appearance, he could not help seeing her figure overlapping with that of Lucas.
Her red hair looked rough and her uniform was covered in drops of juice, her cheeks were bruised like someone had slapped her repeatedly. Adding to Alex's anger was the pitiful look on her face as she walked quietly with a head slightly lowered.
"Emily," Alex muttered while clenching his fists, he wanted to punch the face of whoever did this to his cute sister!
"Big brother?!" Emily gasped in surprise when she saw Alex. She was the one who usually waited for him, why was he so early today? Didn't he have work in the library?
'Oh no, big brother is going to see me like this!' Emily shrieked inwardly and immediately put on a happy face as she smiled warmly while walking over to Alex. Her current expression was a great contrast to her previous lifeless look, the way she switched expressions so quickly pained Alex even more.
This meant that she was already used to it and was now proficient in changing expressions within seconds.
Alex decided not to expose her, he would solve things soon.
"How was school today?" Alex asked with a smile while rubbing Emily's hair.
This action caught Emily by surprise and she was unable to hide it from Alex, he chuckled. Of course, she would be surprised since the old Alex never did this.
"Mm, school was fine." Emily quickly recovered from her surprise and responded while offering a charming smile. The bruises on her face were unable to hide her beauty even a bit.
"You fell, sorry about it. Don't worry, big brother will take care of things soon." Alex said with concern while gently touching her left cheek with the back of his hand.
Emily reacted to this and pulled back slightly while holding her cheeks.
"Ah, yes. I slipped while going to class, didn't know you would notice." she said with an embarrassed smile.
The pair of siblings talked about random stuff as they left the school premises, a group of students watched them from a distance as they left. They were three girls who were around Emily's age and were in similar uniforms.
"Hehe, her brother didn't dare ask what happened to her. Such a loser, I would be ashamed to have a brother like that." one of them said with a mocking laugh.
"Of course, he won't dare to, he knows his place." another girl voiced out.
"There's nothing he can do anyway, I can always ask my sister to deal with him if he tries to make trouble with us." The last girl who had red hair like Emily and Alex added, her tone was arrogant like a certain someone Alex saw not long ago.
....
The two reached home after walking for about thirty minutes, their house was located in the outer part of Balon city where a lot of houses with old cracked walls could be seen.
They found their mom preparing dinner in the kitchen and their dad wasn't back from work yet, Alex went straight to his room after greeting his mother.
Alex took off his uniform and changed into an ordinary shirt and shorts, he sat on the bed in his room that was wrapped in an old bedsheet.
Alex began to feel the energy in his body, since he was still in the Apprentice Mage rank, his soul sea wasn't big and he easily located it.
Currently, in Alex's soul sea were two different types of energies, which were the space and lightning energy. One was his naturally awakened element while the other was gifted by the system.
Another thing that Alex also noticed was that the mana in his body was very scattered and he was barely able to control it.
"This must be the reason he wasn't able to improve in four years, his affinity with mana is at rock bottom!" Alex sighed after this discovery.
He then tried directing the mana into his soul sea but he was only able to get a very small amount to enter. The amount of mana could not even be considered a wisp and Alex would have missed it if not that he could feel its presence.
He immediately knew that he would not be able to get anywhere by following the normal method that other mages use to improve themselves, luckily he had his system!
Alex looked to the side of his bed and couldn't help but appreciate the effort of the former Alex. The dude had a pile of books which included books from his first year in the academy till the time he died in the library.
Since he wasn't good at magic, he had decided to excel in his studies; this was how he had been able to move up in class despite his horrible mage talent.
Alex moved closer to the pile of books and began to fish out books related to mana circulation. Mana circulation didn't just involve moving mana around one's body or ways of using mana, it covered a very wide range of anything that had to do with mana like crafting magic equipment, spell structure, magic items, and anything that had mana in it.
He also picked books about magic beasts since that was part of the mission of the system as well.
For the following hours, Alex did nothing but read these books that had been stored for years. He would receive a system notification whenever he finished a book.

Alex stared at the amount of exp he had acquired within this short time, he still wanted to read more but he had to stop for now because it was time for dinner and his sister had come to call him.
Alex closed the book and climbed down from his bed, he approached the door and opened it to see his sister standing respectfully outside.
"Come on big brother, everyone's waiting for you downstairs." Emily smiled at him before running off, Alex followed behind her in slow steps.
They arrived at the dining room where their parents were already waiting for them, the table had been set and their parents sat next to each other at round dining table, Alex and Emily occupied the remaining chairs.
They chatted while eating. Although the old Alex had suffered humiliation outside and was wearing a downcast expression most of the time, he was always cheerful when around his family so Alex did not have to worry about them getting suspicious of him.
They talked about how Alex was doing in the academy and if he needed anything, his father would get it for him as long as he had enough funds to spare.
Alex obviously turned down this proposal, he had his own plans and did not want to stress his parents.
All he needed to do right now was to keep reading, as long as he kept reading he would get stronger. The only thing that would be of help to him currently were books, and it just so happened that he worked at a place with thousands of them!
'This must be beginner's luck!'
They also talked about the upcoming all-academy star competition. Alex's father asked if their academy had decided to join this year and if Alex had plans to join.
"Don't tease the boy, just let him grow in peace!" Alex's mother pinched his father's waist while scolding him. As his mother, she was very sensitive to these kinds of topics and was defensive of her son whenever it was brought up.
Given Alex's circumstances, how could he possibly make it into the competition?
Alex only smiled at his mother's action. He could feel her protectiveness and it reminded him of a lot of people in his past life, he vowed to give her a very big surprise; it was a mission from the system anyway.
Alex finished his food and immediately went back to his room, he had readings to do!
