Chapter 3
I admired the pink heart diamonds between my fingers and refused to even look at them.
When Francis heard that, his face turned pale instantly.
After six years of dating, I know that he cares most about others exposing his identity as an illegitimate child.
Sure enough, he could no longer control his temper.
“Selma, you are a mistress yourself, why do you involve me?
“Besides, I have already checked your travel itinerary and it is exactly the same as my father's recent trip. You stayed at the Travis Family's old house last night.
“If you didn't hook up with my dad, who else could it be.”
Francis suppressed his anger and trusted his intuition very much.
It was only then that I remembered that Francis's father had been on business trips with us these days.
Plus, their wedding dates were set on the same day as mine.
So, misunderstandings were understandable.
But he did not wait for me to explain.
Anne, who was standing by, came up and snatched the pink heart diamond ring from my hand.
The sharp nails scratched a bloody mark on the back of my hand.
“How can a bitch like you be worthy of this diamond ring? You just hooked up with Francis’ father for money, unlike me and Francis that are truly in love and loyal to each other.”
Looking at the marks on the back of my hand, beads of blood were oozing out, I frowned slightly.
I suddenly felt that it would be a waste of time to explain to such a person.
“Anne, don't you like this pink diamond? Now that you have it in your hand, let's buy it today.
“After all, some people only wear can buttons throughout their lives.”
Francis's eyes swept over my fingertips and he pretended to be cool, put his arm around Anne and went to the front desk to pay the bill.
But he became embarrassed when she swiped the card.
“Sir, your card has been blocked.”
Francis frowned and took out another card from his wallet. The result was still same.
Anne felt a little embarrassed, although she did not know what was going on. But still, the eyes of people around her made her feel ashamed.
She pulled Francis's sleeve and tiptoed out of the store, wanting to slip away quickly. “Francis, is there something wrong with the bank? Otherwise, let's go to other stores.”
Francis's knuckles turned white and he did not understand what was going on for a moment.
The rich young man, who usually had to import even a bottle of water from abroad, felt for the first time the constraints of being penniless.
I raised my eyebrows and blocked their way. “Aren't you loyal? How come you can't even afford a 50,000 dollars ring? It seems that our Mr. Travis's love is really worthless.”
I took out the supplementary card that Isaac gave me and waved it in front of the two of them.
Then I said, "For a ring worth $50,000, it’d be wiser to hand it over to me, your elder, don’t you think? After all, we wouldn’t want to tarnish the Travis Family name, would we?"
Francis's eyes were as cold as ice, staring at me intently. It seemed as if a violent storm was about to blow in those black eyes.
“It was you who asked that old man to freeze my bank card.”
Old man?
The handsome face of Isaac popped up in my mind.
I curled the corners of my lips and smiled. “I guess so.”
“Good, very good.” Francis clenched his fists in anger and a layer of paleness appeared between his knuckles.
He turned around, took out his phone and called his group of friends.
“Hey, Mr. Travis, how come you have time to call me? Ever since that guy left, you've been staying at home drunk every day. Now that you've come to your senses, are you willing to come out and hang out with us?” Nathan Clements teased.
Francis's eyes darkened. “Stop talking nonsense. Transfer 50,000 dollars to me. I need it urgently.”
Chapter 4
Nathan wanted to continue teasing the iceberg. But after hearing his unhappy tone, he immediately transferred 50,000 dollars to him.
After all, for rich kids like them, 50,000 was just the cost of a meal.
When the money arrived, Francis paid it immediately. No packaging was needed, just left with the naked ring.
Looking at Francis’s back, which was so gloomy that it could kill people, the sense of revenge in my heart was rippling and it was very satisfying.
The system was also online at that moment. “After being pissed off by Francis for seven years, today I can finally make him suffer a setback. I declare that you, the host, are my venting god.”
I curled the corners of my mouth. “Of course. I, Selma Miranda, am not the kind of person who would tolerate bullying. If it weren't for the bonus, I would have cut him into pieces.”
As I waved my hands around, Isaac's video call came at this moment. The man on the screen was born with a handsome face.
The handsome brows were three points similar to Francis's, but three points colder than Francis.
“Honey, where are you? I'm done here, I'm going to pick you up and take you to the bridal shop now.”
A man who was always stern and cold in front of his subordinates, acted sweetly in front of his wife. Her eyes even changed from cold iceberg to spring breeze.
The people who were about to leave the meeting were stunned and immediately retreated after they realized what was happening.
I looked at Isaac in the video, who was frowning and asking for a kiss and felt helpless.
Ever since confirming the relationship with Isaac, he became so clingy every day.
Even at that moment, he had changed from a popular man to a clingy little dog. As soon as he saw me, he wagged his tail up to the sky.
Looking at his anxious eyes, I moved my fingers slightly and sent him a location to share.
But I did not expect that as soon as I got into the luxury car, I was greeted by a passionate kiss.
Before I could even react, my coat had disappeared. “Isaac, are you born in the year of the dog?"
I pulled at my collar, trying to cover up the most obvious strawberry.
However, he raised the corners of his lips slightly and showed a wicked smile. “Honey, we were apart for three hours and twenty-six minutes. Don't you miss me at all?”
After that, he took my hand and placed it on his abdominal muscles.
The scorching body temperature scared me so much that I immediately pulled my hand back.
“Stop it, we're in the car,” I said, trying to calm myself, even if my cheeks were burning and my breathing became faster.
After finally arriving at the destination, we got out of the car in a hurry.
Suddenly, the phone vibrated. It was a message from Francis.
[Francis: Let's meet.]
Isaac saw me standing at the door, frowning at his phone.
He turned around and asked me, “What's wrong? Whose message is this?”
“It's fraudulent information, ignore it,” I answered shortly before I deleted the text message, turned off my phone and followed Isaac into the bridal shop.
Inside the store, employees took out skirts from storage.
That was a wedding dress designed by a Parisian master specially hired by Isaac based on my personality.
A black veil cleverly wraps my figure and the shoulder-length tube top just reveals my white collarbone.
Simple and elegant, it looked very much like a divine angel.
While touching the wedding dress that was handmade by hundreds of people, I took a photo in the mirror.
After that, I uploaded it to my Instagram with the caption, [Pure black veil, the most beautiful wedding, I wish to be with you.]
I also did not forget to upload a photo of Isaac’s back, I took that secretly when he was sleeping.
As soon as the post was published, a group of people liked it and sent their blessings.
But it did not work for Francis’s group of friends, they kept commenting and insulting me.
Chapter 5
[Oh, you're still so shameless to flatter an old man after marrying him. Everyone knows that you slept with your ex-boyfriend's father.]
[What you said is not right. Selma said at the beginning that she would not marry anyone other than Francis in this life. How could she marry someone else? I think she just wanted to get revenge on Francis, so she deliberately posed for the photo.]
[Hahaha, you 're right. Selma had been licking our Francis for six years and we couldn't get rid of her.]
[Now that I'm following Francis's father, it's probably because I want to be on the same household registration book with Francis.]
They chatted unscrupulously in my comment section. The worst possible words reminded me of the six years I spent as a bootlicker.
Back then, in order to successfully pursue Francis, I put aside my pride and pursued him for three years; tried every possible means to create chance encounters and took great pains to integrate into his circle.
He liked to go to bars and dance, so I searched for bar makeup. I was wearing a revealing tube top miniskirt and ran into him in the same bar.
He liked fitness and traveling, so I made my own nutritious meals and shared them on my Instagram, trying my best to create common topics.
Thanks to my careful planning, Francis noticed me.
After getting drunk one time, we had sex, but the relationship did not progress.
Me and Francis continued the relationship without any status. So, everytime he invites me to see his group of friends, I get teased.
“Mr. Travis is really good to his pet. He always takes it out for a walk whenever he goes out.”
I hate their insulting words. However, Francis did not care at all.
When I angrily criticized those rich young men, I got scolded by him in return. “It's just a joke, why do you take it so seriously? If you can't afford to have fun, just go back.”
Thinking of how humble I was in the past, my fingertips flew across the screen. I promised I would return all the grievances I suffered in the past.
As I typed and could not wait to send it, Isaac, who had just changed his clothes, appeared behind me.
“So you have been reading messages just now because of these people?” Isaac's voice was slightly displeased.
I was startled and was about to explain, but Isaac had already taken out his phone. “I don't want to see the Clements family, or other families in the city tomorrow.”
After hanging up the phone, he put his arm around my waist and spoke gently. “Since you have become my wife, let me handle these junk messages for you from now on.”
Isaac spoke in a domineering tone, but his eyes were full of heartache when he looked at me. That was a look I had never received in the seven years I had followed Francis.
My heart skipped a beat for no apparent reason.
Leaning in Isaac's arms, I nodded vigorously and replied softly, “OK.”
That night, the Parisian designer took many photos with us and even invited us to dinner.
As I got home, it was already past ten o'clock in the evening.
Just as I was blow-drying my hair, my phone, which had just been charged and turned on, started buzzing.
It was the text messages from Francis.
[Francis: Nathan and the others were just joking with you and you let my dad destroy their family? Selma, do you really have to torture me to death?]
[Francis: I 'll give you one last chance. Go to the old place and wait for me. If you behave well, I'll make peace with you]
[Francis: Selma, why didn't you come? Don't be so shameless. My patience is limited. I will wait for you for one last hour.]
[Francis: Selma, is my dad such a good sleeper? He's already so old, what do you want from him? How can I be better than an old man like him?]
