Chapter 1
After Daniella was marked as Alpha Darren's mate, Daniella discovered that Alpha Darren had a childhood sweetheart. Alpha Darren took care of Camilla, his childhood friend and female wolf, with great attention and even brought her to his house along with Daniella. He considers Camilla's needs and feelings more important than Daniella's needs and feelings.
Daniella observed everything in silence. She stopped competing, stopped arguing, and stopped demanding. On the contrary, Daniella, with her limited abilities as a wolf healer, quietly offered herself as a healer to the Sharp Claws pack without Alpha Darren's knowledge.
After Daniella obtained the agreement to be signed, she began patiently waiting for the day when she could leave Black Shadow the pack led by Alpha Darren. In the end, all she left for Alpha Darren was the severing of their mate bond. "Alpha Darren, I don't love you anymore."

"Uncle, I volunteer to become a healer in the Sharp Claws pack," said Daniella calmly. Uncle Jerremy is Daniella's uncle, from whom Daniella's healing abilities originate and have been developed through him. Currently, Daniella is trying to ask for his help to be a mediator so she can apply to go to Sharp Claws pack and become a healer there.
Uncle Jerremy, sitting across from her, looked surprised, and when he came to his senses, he tried to question Daniella's determination to leave. "Daniella, with your healing abilities and skills, I honestly say you are more than capable of handling this role in another pack. But I heard your wedding ceremony with Alpha Darren is scheduled for next month. Leaving now might result in the severing of your mate bond."
Daniella certainly understood what Uncle Jerremy meant, but she was indeed exhausted and wanted to escape from Alpha Darren. She did this merely to untangle the chaos in her heart.
"Uncle, I have already decided and thought everything through. This is my application letter. Please sign here as my sponsor to go there. The Sharp Claws Pack may not be as large as the pack led by Alpha Darren, but they have had an open healer position for almost a decade, and I want to try to fill that position there. I heard that they are in need of a healer after the fight with the neighboring pack. With my skills, I have a great chance of being accepted there. This is a great opportunity, isn't it?"
Uncle Jerremy hesitated as he looked at the application letter submitted by Daniella. It is true that the Sharp Claws pack needs post-war healers, as the neighboring pack has overwhelmed them in healer their members, and until now many members have not yet received treatment. But their war is not over, which means Daniella must face the consequences if she stays there.
Even strong wolves cannot survive there for long; Sharp Claws is prone to warfare and is a pack with extreme instability, which means it is very dangerous. No one can be a hundred percent sure that they can survive there without leaving wounds.
Although Uncle Jerremy is not too worried about Daniella's abilities and safety, he is concerned about the potential impact of Daniella's mate relationship with Alpha Darren. Not to mention the chaos between packs that will ensue if Sharp Claws is caught bringing a potential Luna from the largest pack led by Alpha Darren.
"Daniella, you don't need to push yourself too hard. With Alpha Darren here, whether you want to empathize, participate, or develop your abilities in the Sharp Claws pack or not, this pack will consider the prospects of your future healing abilities. You will be known as Luna with healing abilities." Even though Uncle Jerremy spoke ambiguously, Daniella understood the implied meaning. But right now, all she wants is to sever the mate bond with Alpha Darren.
Alpha Darren, who is her mate, also possesses healing abilities. Without hesitation, he often tends to his injured pack members, whether their wounds are minor or severe, which they sustain after battles. Actually, the pack would willingly and without issue sacrifice a woman from their ranks to go to another pack only if it was with Alpha Darren's permission, even if she was the prospective Luna there.
Daniella remembered back when she entered Alpha Darren's territory; it was none other than the Alpha himself. Daniella was just a healer in a small settlement struggling to survive. On a stormy night amidst the war between packs, Daniella saved Alpha Darren after he was severely injured and nearly killed.
Then, when Uncle Jerremy helped Daniella heal the Alpha from his wounds, Alpha Darren indirectly learned healing from Uncle Jerremy. After recovering, the Alpha, who was intrigued and felt that this event was permitted by the Moon Goddess, immediately asked Uncle Jerremy for permission to take Daniella to his pack and make her the future Luna for Darren.
That's how Daniella ended up in this pack with the Alpha and became the prospective Luna for that man. For years, what Daniella did was only prove her abilities as a healer, but she could not escape the title of future Luna introduced by Alpha Darren directly.
That made it impossible for her to develop her healing abilities within the pack because she was so revered as the future Luna. Yes, until now, no matter how hard she tries to be recognized for her abilities, she feels it is impossible to escape the label of "future Luna."
"Have you told Alpha Darren that you want to end the mate bond he created himself and join the Sharp Claws pack as a healer?" asked uncle Jerremy, bringing Daniella back from her reverie.
Their mate relationship did not happen because of fate or being arranged by the Moon Goddess; Alpha Darren seemed to have randomly chosen Daniella and made her his mate. Maybe the true mate is Camilla, but they can't be together for one reason or another that Daniella doesn't know. "Don't worry, Uncle."
"I will tell Alpha Darren myself," Daniella said firmly and resolutely, although her clenched fists and pale knuckles betrayed her anxiety. She could already imagine his angry expression, his jaw clenched tightly, and the seething anger as Alpha Darren would refuse to let her go.
Chapter 2
After Uncle Jerremy heard the assurance and strong determination within Daniella, he finally felt there was no other choice but to fulfill the woman's desire. However, he was actually also afraid of being blamed; Alpha Darren was the strongest Alpha in a pack at the moment. If the Alpha is enraged because of Daniella's departure, who knows what will happen next?
"Alright. As long as Alpha Darren agrees to this, both the pack and I will not object." Uncle Jerremy actually regretted Daniella's hasty decision. The position of prospective Luna is the most coveted position by many, and Daniella wants to let it go just like that. However, Uncle Jeremy is trying to understand his niece; Daniella must have another reason behind this. Uncle Jeremy must remain neutral and believe that Daniella would not act so recklessly if something significant had not happened in her relationship with Alpha Darren.
"Thank you, Uncle. I will make sure he agrees, and I won't blame anyone for my departure," Daniella replied confidently while taking back her application form for the healer position at Sharp Claws. But a strange feeling began to creep into Daniella, for some reason; as soon as she left Uncle Jerremy's house, a sense of worry started to grow in her heart. Even though she had spoken with full confidence and consideration, convincing Alpha Darren to agree to her moving to another pack would be a challenge in itself.
However, their wedding ceremony is only a month away. There was a time when Daniella dreamed of marrying Alpha Darren, imagining a happy life with cute little puppy heirs. But now, she no longer wants that to happen.
A few days ago, Daniella and Alpha Darren had just discussed their wedding plans. The Alpha said dismissively, "Our pack is very busy; who has time to attend our wedding? It would be better if we just eat simple food and register ourselves to get proof of the validity of this marriage—don't think about unnecessary things and disrupt the pack's daily work system." Okay, their wedding ceremony started to feel unimportant to Alpha Darren, while the ceremony party of the leaders was highly anticipated by the pack, an Alpha from the Black Shadow pack chose a wedding without many attendees. And Daniella will soon find out the reason.
That night, Daniella heard him talking to Camilla on the balcony. "Don't worry, Camilla. I will never get married. As long as I don't want it, no one will ever be able to force me." That's when Daniella realized the real reason why she didn't want the marriage to continue—because of Camilla. The realization of that fact left Daniella feeling empty. Their mate bond felt like it had ended even before they had started it. She decided to leave this pack to end everything sooner, but will the Alpha agree? Furrowing her brow, Daniella pondered the situation.
Because she was preoccupied with her own thoughts, she didn't pay attention to where she was walking and bumped into a very hard chest. "Ouch!" Daniella staggered, her ankle twisted, and she almost fell, but a strong arm caught her waist just in time.
"What's wrong with you? You seem so dazed; you didn't even respond when I called you a few times just now," a low, captivating voice interrupted Daniella's thoughts. Even after three years together, Daniella still blushed shyly when she suddenly had to do something intimate and intense with the Alpha.
Staring at Alpha Darren's calm face, Daniella became aware again, feeling a slight discomfort. After all, she had just planned a way to manipulate Alpha Darren into approving her application to become a healer in another pack. But Daniella didn't expect to meet that man right now.
"It's nothing, just thinking about some healing methods I've recently learned," Daniella replied, trying her best to hide the truth. Alpha Darren raised an eyebrow, as if sensing something was off, but he didn't press Daniella to be honest and talk to him.
On the contrary, the Alpha suddenly squatted down, rolling up Daniella's pants to check his mate's ankle. He pressed gently, and Daniella gasped sharply in pain. Without saying anything more, Alpha Darren carried her effortlessly. "This is a severe sprain. You need to rest for a few days. Don't walk too much for a while." Daniella squirmed uncomfortably in the Alpha's lap, trying to break free and get down.
"Put me down. If anyone sees us, it will look bad." Alpha Darren ignored Daniella's protests and gently patted her hip. "Stop moving! You are already injured—stay still!" But as he carried Daniella a few steps, his phone suddenly rang. On the other end of the phone, Daniella could still hear a cheerful and spoiled woman's voice.
"Alpha, are you at home? I think my wrist is a bit sore, and I need a healer to check on me." When the Alpha heard the complaint from the woman on the other end of the phone, Alpha Darren's usually indifferent expression softened with a faint smile.
Daniella sighed inwardly; she knew very well it was Camilla. She was getting used to the sudden phone calls from that wolf woman, and she was getting used to seeing how Alpha Darren's expression became so enthusiastic and rushed for that woman.
Sure enough, before reaching the count of ten, Alpha Darren immediately put Daniella down, his face suddenly looking anxious. And Daniella wouldn't be able to stop that man from leaving, let alone choose her. So Daniella could only put on her flat face to wait for how the Alpha would make an excuse to leave now.
"Beta Collin just called. There are some of our pack who returned injured due to a misdirected attack. They are all waiting for me to decide what we should do about this. This is urgent, Daniella. I have to leave immediately," he explained, even though Daniella already knew the obvious lie of the Alpha.
Chapter 3
Alpha Darren rushed a few steps forward but seemed hesitant. He turned around and asked, "Daniella, you have the ability as a healer. This is just a minor injury—you can handle it yourself, right?" Minor injury? Just a few minutes ago, he had just said it was serious. Or maybe, in his world, she would never be more important than Camilla.
Daniella remembered one night last summer. Her finger was scratched while slicing a watermelon, and her nail almost broke too. Alpha Darren was by her side, carrying her and forcing her to sit on the sofa while the Alpha took care of her, even though it was just a small cut, not a serious injury. Now, thinking about how much has changed, Daniella's chest felt tight, and her eyes welled up with uncontrollable tears.
Daniella turned quickly, not wanting the man to see her fragile state. Even though she was an healer, this was nothing serious, and she could handle it with her abilities. But he left Daniella in this state for the sake of a wounded Camilla. Isn't it obvious that Daniella is no more important than that wolf woman? Daniella's gaze suddenly fell on a coat with a missing button—a reminder of the bitter events from a week ago.
That night, Daniella went to meet Uncle Jerremy, who was holding a meeting with the healers. They all partied, and Daniella drank too much. Because Uncle Jeremy's place is in a remote area, it's difficult to get a vehicle at night.
Besides, Daniella was not as strong as the werewolves who could come and go easily without a vehicle. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, Daniella tried to use telepathy, but she remembered that their telepathy had been blocked by the Alpha since Camilla's return among them. Half-conscious and with a shaky voice, Daniella tried to call her Alpha. "Alpha, I can't find a ride. Can you pick me up?"
At that moment, Alpha Darren was having dinner with Camilla. Camilla's spoiled voice, trying to feed the Alpha, could even be heard and understood by the drunken Daniella. "I am with Camilla. It's already late at night, and it's not safe for her to go home alone. Wait another two hours; I will take her home first, or you can contact Beta Collin to pick you up." He didn't even ask his own Beta to pick up Daniella. Instead, he asked Daniella to contact him herself. Alpha Darren was very concerned about Camilla's safety but never thought that Daniella was also a woman alone at night.
Moreover, Daniella is just a healer, in the middle of the night, where the entire pack knows that she is the future Luna. But Daniella was considered by the Alpha to be stronger than Camilla, the she-wolf. Daniella walked twenty kilometers in the dark before the headlights of the Alpha's black car suddenly pierced through the night. Ah, Daniella remembered they had just had dinner together; that's why the Alpha came with his luxury car.
"Daniella, are you crazy? Do you think lying is fun? I have circled the location you gave me and didn't see you anywhere!" Alpha Darren shouted.
"I am not lying, I am just..." Before Daniella could finish her sentence, Alpha Darren roared, pulled her into the car, and slammed the door shut. The sound of metal buttons clinking against the floor was barely audible amidst his angry tirade. His strength as an Alpha sent shivers down Daniella's spine when the man was angry. However, since that day, Daniella understood—she would never be as important as Camilla to the Alpha.
Forcing a smile, Daniella said softly, "I am a healer. I can handle it. You have to go—don't keep Camilla waiting." Any concerns that Alpha Darren might have felt towards her vanished as those words were spoken. Moments after the Alpha truly left, Daniella decided to go to Jerremy's uncle house.
There will be many healers coming there every day; chatting with them is much better than lamenting her fate as a pitiful Luna candidate. Daniella lifted her head. She wiped the corners of her wet eyes. She didn't care about her sprained ankle; she could still use the Alpha's vehicle that was at their house.
During her journey, Daniella counted how many times Alpha Darren had left her for Camilla, and she had already lost track of the count. Camilla's cheerful and spoiled voice on the phone? Any healer knows well that Camilla is not sick.
However, Alpha Darren always acts as if he is under Camilla's influence, eagerly running to fulfill her calls. Sometimes Daniella really felt like they were true mates, but Alpha Darren never explained anything about Camilla other than that she was just a childhood friend who was a she-wolf. Limping, Daniella finally arrived at Uncle Jeremy's residence. As expected, many of the healers there seemed to have nothing to do.
Some of Daniella's fellow healers, who knew her well, teased her as she entered, their tone filled with playful jokes. "Daniella, you and Alpha Darren really need to relax during the day! Don't let yourselves get too tired."
"That's right, Daniella. Alpha Darren is the leader of the strongest pack; he is the backbone of the pack. If you exhaust him and he can't perform his duties as an Alpha, you might face protests from many of the pack."
Daniella forced an awkward smile and waved her hand as a sign of impossibility; in reality, no one dared to protest their Alpha partner. And again, the reason for her limp was that she rolled up her pants to show her swollen and bruised ankle. "Not like that. My ankle was just sprained when I hurried here," Daniella explained, perhaps to cover up the chaos in her relationship with the Alpha for the umpteenth time.
