Chapter 2

It was clear that Stella didn't agree with William's proposal at first.

William leaned in and whispered something in her ear.

Stella's face lit up with excitement immediately.

It was easy to guess that he probably told her how much Levi favored Isla and the fact that she could have sons.

Stella cleared her throat, glaring at me. "Owen, William's marrying Isla, so Zoe is yours now.

"You are an illegitimate son, but marrying a legitimate heiress? That's a favor from William! Don't you forget it!

"To show your sincerity, sign this agreement and give up your claim to the Lewis family inheritance."

I faked an excited expression. "Great! I'll sign!"

Stella's face brightened as she quickly pulled out a document from her purse.

As soon as I signed, she snatched the paper and left. She was grinning, with William in tow.

I overheard William laughing. "What an idiot. Once I marry Isla and inherit the Lewis and Clark fortunes, we'll see if Owen comes begging me for money!"

The Lewis Group had always been involved in shady dealings.

In three years, all of it would be exposed, and people would come to blackmail them.

In my past life, I worked hard to avoid being dragged down with the Lewis family.

I exhausted countless resources and money to keep it all under wraps.

After my father died three years ago, Stella was supposed to run the company, but all she cared about was enjoying the money.

William was the same.

They had no idea what I had done for the family.

Now, they were rushing to let me escape this mess. How could I say no?

Besides, William's life with Isla won't be as perfect as he imagines.

The real show is just beginning.

Chapter 3

William and I were having our weddings at the same venue.

In my previous life, Levi had introduced all the guests to me, as I was the one marrying Isla.

But now, Levi was leading all the elites and dignitaries toward William instead.

Through the crowd, William shot me a smug look.

Suddenly, a pleasant voice came from behind me, "Aren't you worried?"

I shook my head. "A man's future depends on his ability."

Zoe raised her eyebrows slightly. She was surprised, then a smile appeared on her normally cool face. "Owen, you're really something."

Not far away, Levi respectfully guided an elderly man with white hair into the venue.

William was excited. He rushed over, bowing and nodding eagerly.

The man was calm and composed. He exchanged a few polite words before turning to leave.

When he saw me, he stopped suddenly, frowning slightly.

Seeing this, William rushed over to shoo me away.

"You're in the wrong place, dressed so shabby!

"Do you even know who this man is? If you make him angry, I'll..."

Then he quickly turned to the man, saying, "We don't know him, sir. Don't be upset. I'll get rid of him right now!"

Before William could finish, the man approached me and grabbed my hand.

"Are you Owen?"

I smiled. "Mr. Garcia, I hope you've been well."

William and his mother, Stella, were both left speechless.

Sameul laughed, "The last time I saw you in London, your proposal was a revelation! I had to leave in a rush and didn't get your contact information..."

I smoothly replied, "It's an honor to know you, Mr. Garcia!"

I gave my number to Sameul's assistant, and the other big names surrounding William suddenly started flocking toward me.

Just like in my previous life.

William's face twisted with rage, his nose practically crooked from anger.

He grabbed Isla and stormed off.

Moments later, I received a message from him: [Just wait and see. The Clark Group will be mine!]

Chapter 4

After the wedding, I brought Zoe back to my place.

Zoe stopped me.

"You're a good person, very decent," she said. "Although we got married today, I'm sorry, but I can't be a real wife to you.

"We do our own thing, and don't interfere with each other. How does that sound?"

Zoe had striking looks, with a figure just as stunning as any celebrity.

In her wedding dress, she looked like a goddess, drawing the constant stares of the men nearby.

I looked into her eyes. "You love someone else, don't you?"

Zoe nodded and said softly, "When I was young, my family went on a vacation.

"I snuck away to swim in the river. My foot slipped, and the current knocked me over. I couldn't get up.

"A boy about my age saved me.

"I've liked him ever since, but I never knew who he was."

She looked at me and smiled sweetly. "Pretty silly, don't you think?"

She pulled a necklace from her pocket, with half of a jade pendant hanging from it.

Slowly, I reached into my pocket and pulled out my piece.

Zoe's eyes widened in shock.

I smiled. "It was me."

In my past life, I didn't realize until a few years into our marriage.

Zoe never had children because she and William were never truly husband and wife.

She had always been in love with the boy who saved her. That boy was me.

Back then, I had a wife and children. Of course, I never made any moves toward Zoe.

It wasn't until later that I learned Isla had betrayed me, and then my brother had me killed.

Now that I've been reborn, I'm determined to be with the girl who truly loves me.

Zoe looked at me, her big eyes glistening with emotion.

I didn't make a move. I simply escorted her back to her room like a gentleman.

There's plenty of time ahead.

I returned to my room and had just closed the door when there was a knock on the door.

I opened it to find Zoe standing there, looking delicate and beautiful.

"The night is short," she said.

She smiled and fell into my arms.

The night passed.
