Chapter 4
In the VIP room of the hospital, Kristie stood at the door of the ward, hesitating.
Ever since Harvey got into trouble, she had been staying in that ward almost day and night, never leaving, praying day and night, hoping that God would appreciate her sincerity and let Harvey wake up.
But later she learnt if her sincerity was a joke.
When Kristie thought of all the ways Harvey had deceived her, she wanted to kill him, but she knew that it was not the right time.
After taking a deep breath, Kristie pushed the door open.
Harvey was sitting on the hospital bed. Even in his hospital gown, he looked handsome.
Hearing the sound, Harvey tilted his head and his gaze fell on Kristie. His eyes were calm and without any ripples.
“Where have you been? I want to drink tea. I'm not used to tea made by others!”
Always a condescending tone.
Was this the important thing?
Kristie just found it funny, but at the same time she felt sorry for her former self.
How ridiculous had she been during these three years? She actually thought that Harvey only drank the tea she made and only liked to eat the food she cooked and that it was a sign of his deep love for her.
She did not want to be so foolish anymore.
Kristie walked straight to Harvey, pulled a chair over and sat down.
“Is this what you wanted to tell me?” she asked.
Harvey was waiting for tea, not Kristie who was sitting still with her thick brows furrowed.
Just as he was about to lose his temper, Kristie interrupted him, “Harvey, won't you explain?”
Kristie took out a stack of information and threw it in front of Harvey. On top was a photo of Harvey accompanying Susan in and out of the hospital for prenatal checkups, which made her particularly aware of the situation.
With the evidence of cheating in front of him, Harvey's expression changed slightly, but the next second he just said lightly, “Since you know everything, I won't hide it from you. The shares in the old man's hands are ours.”
Kristie felt like a basin of ice water was poured over her head and she felt cold all over.
This was the explanation Harvey gave her after he ‘woke up?’
“Harvey, you are so shameless!”
Kristie did not want to stay any longer, so she got up and left.
The man's cold voice sounded behind her, “Kristie, you know in your heart that there is no love or affection in a family like ours. It's not good for you to fight side by side with me and stand at the top of the pyramid hand in hand like before.”
Kristie turned her back to Harvey, but tears still flowed down her face.
If she had not seen Harvey with Susan with her own eyes, perhaps she would have thought that it would be nice to be a couple with him.
She could foolishly continue to deceive herself that the slightest difference in Harvey's attitude towards her was love.
But not at that moment.
The phone dinged. It was a picture sent by Frances.
Kristie opened it and enlarged the picture.
Harvey had already signed his name on the divorce agreement.
His vision blurred for a moment and his right hand, which was holding the phone, trembled slightly.
No matter how Frances asked Harvey to sign, at this moment, Kristie's heart still ached so much that she almost died.
“Kristie, no matter what happens in the future, you will always be my Mrs. Stokes. Susan and the baby in her belly cannot threaten your position.”
Cannot threaten her position?
Kristie really wanted to ask Harvey, his body and heart were all on Susan, so was this not a threat?
But it did not matter at this moment.
Kristie looked down at Harvey's signature on the divorce agreement and smiled faintly. After another month of the divorce cooling-off period, when her grandmother had finished the surgery, she would take her grandmother away and stay away from Harvey and the entire Stokes Family.
Kristie also did not want to be disgusted by this couple again, so she said, “Harvey, don't let Susan appear in front of me during this month, understand?”
Harvey thought Kristie had changed her mind, so his thick brows relaxed and his tone softened a lot.
“Okay, I agree. Her due date is exactly one month from now and I don't want her mood to be affected in this last month.”
What a coincidence.
Kristie's heart was breaking repeatedly, so she left without looking back, completely ignoring Harvey's voice behind her.
“By the way, I have asked a nanny to take care of Susan. She has a picky appetite and she only likes her cooking. During this time, you should…."
Before he could finish his words, Harvey frowned and looked up, only to see Kristie's departing back.
Harvey's brows were twisted and he suddenly felt dissatisfied. It seemed that there was something different about Kristie.
He knew that he was sorry for Kristie in the incident with Susan, but that night was an accident. Since God had given this accident an extra surprise, he would never give up on this child.
Harvey believed that Kristie would figure it out.
She loved him so much that she would accept Susan and the child for him and soon, she would replace Mavis by marrying into the Romero Family for him.
Christ was a fool and Kristie just suffered a little reputational injustice. Harvey believed that she would understand himself.
Outside the ward, Kristie leaned her back against the snow-white wall, slowly slid down to the ground and cried inconsolably.
After an unknown amount of time, Kristie slowly raised her head and looked at the afterglow of the setting sun outside the window. She reached out and wiped away the tears from her cheeks.
She thought that tomorrow would be a good day, and in a month, she would usher in a new life.
However, Kristie never expected that Harvey had already agreed to it, but right after that, he actually let Susan enter the house and bully her.
Chapter 5
The small western-style building in Crescent Haven was the wedding room of Kristie and Harvey. After marriage, they had always lived alone and did not live in the old house of the Stokes Family.
After days of running around and emotional ups and downs, Kristie was exhausted both physically and mentally. She had not slept well for several days and that day she stayed in bed for a rare time.
However, she was just sleeping when she was woken up by a loud noise.
Susan led her men directly into the villa and pushed open Kristie's door without any reason.
“Move in quickly and be careful. This bed was specially made for me by Harvey. If you bump into it, you will have to pay for it!”
Kristie frowned slightly, sat up with the quilt and the shoulder straps of her silk nightgown slipped down slightly, revealing her fair and round shoulders.
“Oh, Sister, you have not woken up yet. I'm so sorry! What are you looking at? Close your eyes and turn your back.”
Susan did it on purpose. Seeing Kristie's look, she scolded the workers but deliberately stepped aside to embarrass Kristie.
The five workers behind stared at Kristie.
Kristie sneered, picked up the nightgown beside her and put it on, went down barefoot, walked in front of Susan and slapped her without saying a word.
The movements were crisp and clear, while the sound of the slap was clear and pleasant.
Susan was stunned as he yelled, “You dare to hit me?! Harvey will not let you go.”
Kristie was not afraid at all. She glanced at the big bed blocking the door and asked coldly, “Did Harvey ask you to bring it here?”
“Yes, Harvey said that my baby and I need to get a good night's sleep. He made this bed specifically for us.”
Susan was very proud. She came here that day just to assert her sovereignty.
“Sister, the master bedroom has the best location and lighting. Do you mind giving up your room? After all, the eldest grandson of the Stokes Family in my belly is more important than anything else. What do you think?”
Kristie followed Susan's gaze and looked at her bulging belly. It was really a case of a villain succeeding.
With a slight smile on her lips, Kristie walked straight past Susan and went to the door of the room. The corridor outside was filled with bed frames, mattresses, bedside tables and a lazy sofa.
Standing at the railing and looking down, the hall was already full of things.
Susan was really preparing to move in.
Kristie smiled contemptuously, picked the one that saved the most effort and pushed the mattress against the railing. The mattress fell from the second floor and hit the crystal ornaments below.
With a series of ‘crackling’ sounds, the glass shattered all over the floor.
Everyone was stunned.
Kristie turned around and smiled at Susan as she explained, “This place is not suitable for you to raise your baby. Harvey will understand. Also, I, Kristie Swan, am an orphan and have no brothers or sisters. Miss Carey, please call me with my name directly. The most important thing is…."
Kristie paused and her eyes fell on Susan's lower abdomen. “You'd better hope that you give birth to a son in a month. After all, the old man has said that the shares will only be left to the eldest grandson.”
Susan was so angry that her face turned red and her index finger pointing at Kristie was trembling.
She originally thought that Kristie was a soft person, an orphan with a dull personality and she was just at the mercy of her, but she did not expect that this was not the case.
“Kristie, Harvey will never let you go!”
Susan picked up the phone and was about to call Harvey to complain.
“It's too much trouble to call, you can just complain to him directly,” Kristie interrupted and looked down at the gate.
Harvey was just entering the house from the courtyard corridor and was shocked to see the mess in the hall. “What's going on?”
Harvey raised his head and looked towards the second floor. His eyes were cold but with a hint of rage. After looking around, his eyes fixed on Kristie.
Kristie was wearing pajamas and robe, with long hair draped over her shoulders and her eyes were lazy and charming.
There was a flash of surprise in Harvey's eyes, but soon he frowned and turned to look at the workers as if he wanted to kill them.
How could she let other men see Kristie like this?!
“What a shame. Change your clothes!”
Hearing this, Kristie just found it funny. Harvey was really schizophrenic. Even at that time, he was still concerned about whether her clothes were appropriate.
“Harvey!”
When Susan saw Harvey, she wanted to fly downstairs like a butterfly. Kristie was worried for her when she saw this.
Harvey's expression changed as well and he ran upstairs with big strides.
“Susan, slow down, be careful of the baby in your belly.”
As he said this, before Susan went down the stairs, he pulled her into his arms and took care of her with care.
The scene was so disgusting and annoying at the same time, making her eyes sore and her heart aching.
Susan hugged Harvey, gave Kristie a provocative look and then sobbed and accused, “Mrs. Stokes seems to dislike me very much. Not only did she smash the new bed, she also broke the blue crystal you gave me. Harvey, she also threatened our child badly, saying…."
Susan deliberately left the following words blank.
Harvey's eyes suddenly changed when he looked at Kristie and were full of hostility.
“Harvey, I was the one who threw the mattress away and I was the one who smashed the things underneath. You should know the reasons. As for the others…."
Kristie had a clear conscience and her eyes fell on the two of them indifferently, “I, Kristie, disdain it.”
After saying that, she turned back to her room and locked the door from the inside.
Harvey's handsome eyebrows were twisted, he had no idea what Susan had done that day.
“Susan, what's going on?” he asked in the end.
“Harvey, you were the one who told me to take good care of the baby. I just want to live here, closer to you.”

Inside the room, Kristie leaned against the door, listening quietly to the conversation between the two.
The woman acted coquettishly while the man coaxed her softly.
It seemed that the outcome of this matter was not important and it did not matter whether Harvey knew about it in advance.
Since the ending was already decided, Kristie did not want to dwell on the process anymore, but her heart still ached when she saw how much Harvey cherished Susan and the baby in her belly.
Kristie laughed at herself and went to change her clothes.
That month, she had to settle the company's affairs. Stokes Group was her hard work and she could not abandon it just because of her and Harvey's emotional problems.
Kristie changed her clothes and put on some light makeup. When she opened the door, she did not expect that Harvey was waiting for her outside.
“Tonight, the old house is holding a banquet, you and I will attend together.”
