Chapter 1
I was a natural medicine body and the blood in my body could cure all diseases.
In the previous life, after curing the paralyzed legs of the princess of Akso City, I learned that the Woodward Family had said that the person who cured Dale would be the heir of the Woodward Family.
Dale was forced to marry me. Laurence, who climbed the mountain to pick snow lotus for her, heard the news and lost his mind for a while, fell off the cliff and his whereabouts were unknown.
A year later, Dale found Laurence’s frozen body.
She forced me to cut my wrist and bleed to save him.
“It was obvious that we would grow old together when Laurence picked the snow lotus to cure me, but you killed him! Georgie, didn’t you say that your blood is a magic medicine? Then let Laurence come back to life!”
I lowered my head to coax her, “Laurence has been dead for a year. I can only cure diseases, not bring the dead back to life.”
But Dale didn’t listen to my explanation and watched me bleed to death.
When I opened my eyes again, I went back to the day when the Woodward Family asked me to treat Dale.
Looking at Dale, who was sitting in a wheelchair with a pale face, I raised my eyebrows.
“Miss Woodward’s legs are useless. No one can cure them.”
——
Hearing what I said, Dale slowly raised her head and looked at me, her little face flushed with anger.
“Get out of here!”
I smiled faintly and turned to look at Mrs. Woodward beside me.
“Mrs. Woodward, if my Richardson Family says that the disease cannot be cured in this world, then it is really hopeless. You should consider having another child as soon as possible while you are young.”
As soon as the voice fell, the teacup in Dale’s hand hit me directly.
I dodged it sideways.
The teacup worth one thousand dollars fell to the ground and broke into pieces.
The startled Mrs. Woodward hurriedly apologized to me.
“Mr. Richardson, I’m sorry. I apologize to you on behalf of Dale. She is like this because of her body…”
I waved my hand indifferently.
“I understand. I won’t argue with a disabled woman.”
Seeing Dale trembling with anger, I turned around and left the Woodward Family.
Mrs. Woodward chased out and begged in a low voice. “Mr. Richardson, is there really no way? I heard that the Richardson Family has a secret technique to cure all diseases. As long as you can cure Dale’s leg, the Woodward Family can meet any of your requirements.”
But it was not that I couldn’t cure it, it was that I just couldn’t. In the last life, Dale blamed me for Laurence’s death, stubbornly believing that if Laurence brought back the snow lotus, her leg would be cured.
If she thought calmly, she would know that the snow lotus was just a tonic. The so-called special effects were all hyped up by others.
But after she found out that I used blood as medicine to cure her leg, she watched me bleed to death in order to save Laurence.
Before she died, I heard the conversation of the Woodward Family servants. It turned out that Laurence didn’t fall off the cliff because of picking snow lotus.
It was because he knew that he couldn’t possess the Woodward Family’s property and when he tried to climb up the ladder, he was discovered by the husband of the sponsor and thrown off the cliff.
In this life, I would no longer be involved in their entanglement. I hoped they could really grow old together.
“Miss Woodward’s legs, I can’t help.”
Dale followed me out and heard what I said and there was anger in her sweet voice.
“Mom, Laurence has already flown to the snow mountain. When he brings back the Snow Lotus, my legs will definitely be cured. Don’t worry about my affairs.”
Mrs. Woodward sighed.
“The Snow Lotus only has a restorative effect on your legs, but it is far from enough to let you stand up again. The Richardson Family is your last hope…”
Dale was still stubborn.
“I said, Laurence can cure me.”
Chapter 2
I looked at Dale deeply, said goodbye to Mrs. Woodward and left.
Just as I walked out of the Woodward Family gate, a black commercial vehicle stopped in front of me. The woman came out of the car and knelt in front of me.
“Mr. Richardson, please save my daughter…”
It turned out that in the accident a year ago, not only Dale was injured, but also her mortal enemy, Angela, from the Austin Family.
After the car accident, Angela became a half-dead disabled.
But after experiencing the tragic last life, I would not use my blood to save people at will, so I rejected Mrs. Austin’s request.
Mrs. Austin did not entangle anymore and wiped her tears and left.
A week later, I received an invitation to the Woodward Family banquet.
Laurence came back with Snow Lotus. Mrs. Woodward was afraid that there was something wrong with Laurence’s medicine, so she asked me to check it on the spot.
At the banquet, Laurence stayed by Dale’s side.
Mrs. Woodward walked to my side with a sad face.
“I’m not afraid that the medicine Laurence brought back is useless. I’m just worried that I’ll disappoint Dale again and she won’t be able to accept this blow. We’ve tried everything over the past year. I’ve watched the hope in Dale’s eyes disappear little by little. As a mother, I really can’t do anything…”
Without waiting for me to start comforting her, Laurence pushed Dale over.
“Auntie, don’t worry. I can definitely make Dale stand up. For this Snow Lotus, I almost died in the snowy mountains.”
Dale held Laurence’s hand, looking moved.
“Laurence, when I stand up, I will wear the most beautiful wedding dress and marry you.”
“Dale, I will wait for that day.”
Laurence turned his head and looked at me, his smile ambiguous.
“I’m different from those quack doctors who cheat. I’m sure I can cure Dale’s legs.”
As soon as the words fell, the faces of the famous doctors who had treated Dale’s legs turned ugly.
“Mr. Russell is so arrogant. Are you sure you can cure Miss Woodward’s leg?”
“How dare you, a nonmedical professional, question our level?”
“Even Mr. Richardson from the medical Richardson Family said that Miss Woodward’s leg cannot be cured. I don’t believe that you, a young man, have this ability!”
Dale didn’t think there was anything wrong with what Laurence said and smiled proudly.
“I believe Laurence can definitely cure me!”
I couldn’t help but sneer.
Laurence thought I was laughing at him.
I was so angry that I gritted my teeth, but still forced a smile.
“Mr. Richardson, I heard that you are the most outstanding doctor of this generation of the Richardson Family, but you first rejected the Woodward Family and then rejected the Austin Family. It’s hard not to suspect that you can’t cure diseases at all.”
I raised my glass to toast him.
“Then I look forward to the day when Mr. Russell makes Miss Woodward stand up.”
Seeing that I didn’t get angry but laughed, Laurence clenched his fists.
“Are you angry that I stole your limelight? I know you want to marry Dale, but Dale likes me and I’m the only one who can cure her legs.”
Dale, who was sitting in a wheelchair, spoke sarcastically. “Georgie, even if you have the ability to cure me, I won’t marry you, not to mention that you are a quack. When my mother introduced you before, I thought you were a great person, but it seems that’s all. I tell you, the only person I like is Laurence and I will marry him. Even if you appear in front of me again and again, I won’t look at you more.”
I just felt irritated when I saw them singing the same tune. “Mrs. Woodward asked me to come here to check Mr. Russell’s medicine. Since Miss Woodward trusts Mr. Russell so much, I don’t need to meddle in other people’s business.”
Chapter 3
After I finished speaking, I wanted to leave, but Laurence blocked my way. “Georgie, what do you mean by this?”
I frowned. “It means literally. If you don’t understand, look it up in the dictionary!”
Laurence’s face suddenly turned cold. “Georgie, do you dare to bet with me? Bet on who can cure Dale’s leg. The loser kneels down and admits defeat and is not allowed to enter Akso City from now on!”
I paused and turned to look at him.
“I can bet with you, but I won’t cure Dale. I will cure Miss Angela of the Austin Family! In ten days, let’s see whether you can make Dale stand up or I can make Angela wake up. Laurence, do you dare to bet with me?”
As soon as I finished speaking, the scene exploded.
“Didn’t Miss Austin become disabled? This is much more difficult to cure than Dale’s leg.”
“Yes, if the Austin Family hadn’t spent a lot of money to keep Angela alive, Angela would have been dead long ago.”
“If Mr. Richardson can make Angela wake up, it would be a miracle in medical history!”
“A month is short enough. How can ten days be possible?”
Hearing the discussions of the people around him, Laurence’s eyes flashed.
“I promise you, with so many people here as witnesses. Georgie, you can’t regret it if you lose.”
I curled my lips.
“I won’t lose.”
Dale smiled, as if mocking my arrogance.
“Angela is already a living dead woman. You can’t even cure my legs and you still want to cure Angela? Georgie, if you admit defeat now, I can consider not driving you out of Akso City.”
My eyes passed over her legs without leaving a trace.
“Dale, medicine is three-point poison, be careful that Mr. Russell’s medical skills are too superb. Don’t let you get some strange disease again if you fail to cure your legs.”
After saying that, I turned and left.
Laurence was just a college student who graduated from finance and his parents were ordinary workers. It was simply a fantasy to say that he had the means to cure Dale’s paralysis.
That night, the news of our bet spread throughout the Akso City.
Some people even opened a bet on who would win between me and Laurence. In order to encourage Laurence, Dale bet 1 million dollars on him to win.
The next morning, Mrs. Austin took me to the hospital.
I took out the blood medicine I had prepared in advance, lifted Angela’s head and carefully fed her to drink.
It would take at most seven days for Angela to wake up.
“Mr. Richardson, thank you. Whether Angela can wake up this time or not, our Austin Family will remember your kindness. You can raise any needs and we will do it if we can,” Mrs. Austin said and was about to kneel down to me again.
I hurriedly supported her.
“Mrs. Austin, I don’t want to save Angela for anything, I just want to win. Don’t worry, I will definitely make Angela wake up.”
Mrs. Austin was moved to tears.
“I also heard about the bet between you and Laurence. Our Austin Family bet 1 million dollars on you. When the time comes, both the principal and interest will be delivered to you. Mr. Richardson, don’t refuse this. This is what you deserve.”
Just as I was about to speak, I saw Laurence pushing Dale toward me.
“I wonder why you took the initiative to save Angela. You are really after the Austin Family’s money.”
Laurence stepped forward to advise Mrs. Austin.
“Mrs. Austin, don’t be fooled by Georgie. He can’t even cure Dale’s leg. How can he wake Angela up? Be careful not to end up with nothing.”
Mrs. Austin looked impatient.
“I believe in Mr. Richardson, so please don’t bother, Mr. Russell.”
Being ruthlessly despised by Mrs. Austin, Laurence’s face turned pale.
