Chapter 1
The weird mother-in-law and the aunt attacked.
At the family gathering, Leticia dragged my son into the bathroom for some reflection.
I stepped in to stop her, but she shoved me to the ground.
She persisted, grabbing a clothes rod to discipline my son.
In desperation, I slapped her.
Sadie scolded me for being ill-mannered, demanding I apologize to Leticia.
My husband Felix berated me for opposing his mom and sister.
I slapped Felix back, then stormed into the kitchen, grabbing a knife. "Anyone says another word, I'll slice you all!"

"Kane, go to the bathroom and reflect! How dare you swear at your young age!"
"Mom... I want my mom..."
From the living room came my son's cries and Leticia's scolding.
I hurried out of the kitchen to see Leticia dragging my son towards the bathroom.
Sadie and Felix were sitting on the sofa watching TV, ignoring my son's cries.
"Mommy… save me! My hand hurts."
My heart ached seeing my son's cute round face full of pain and tears streaming down.
I rushed forward to stop Leticia.
"Leticia, Kane says it hurts, please let him go."
Leticia, with her plump and somewhat fierce face, looked even more aggressive when I intervened.
"Shut up, Kaitlyn. I'm helping you discipline your son. You're too indulgent, that's why he's so unruly and dares to shout at me."
I didn't believe a word she said.
My son was usually obedient and polite, always correcting me if I accidentally cursed.
How could he possibly say something like get lost to Leticia?
But Leticia was a relentless type, and I didn't want to argue with her.
I smiled. "But Kane says it hurts, please let him go for now. I'll talk to him later."
I reached forward to pull her hand off Kane's.
Leticia's face turned red with anger, and she yelled, "He says it hurts, so it must be true?! He's definitely lying to escape punishment! I must discipline him today!"
"Kaitlyn, don't you know indulgent mothers raise spoiled children?! Look at what you've done to my nephew!"
She suddenly shoved me hard.
I wasn't prepared and lost my balance, falling heavily to the ground.
After pushing me, Leticia grabbed a clothes rod and walked towards my son.
She hit him on the face with the rod, then dragged him towards the bathroom again.
A red, swollen mark immediately appeared on his face.
My son cried even harder. "Mommy… it hurts, mommy…"
"Slap…"
Ignoring the pain in my body, I rushed up and slapped Leticia hard.
The slap stunned Leticia, giving me the chance to pull my son behind me.
His chubby little hands clung tightly to mine, tears streaming down his face. "Mommy."
I patted his head to comfort him. "Don't be afraid, mommy's here."
The slap not only stunned Leticia but also drew the attention of Sadie and Felix, who had been watching TV.
Sadie quickly rushed to Leticia's side, tenderly rubbing her face. "Leticia, does it hurt?"
Then she angrily shouted at me. "Why did you hit Leticia?!"
Felix also hurried forward to check Leticia's face.
As Leticia came to her senses, she started crying, "Mom, Felix, you have to stand up for me. I was just trying to discipline Kane, and he told me to get lost!"
Sadie gently consoled her, "Don't cry, dear. It breaks my heart to see you cry. I'll stand up for you!"
Sadie pointed at me and scolded, "What are you standing there for? Apologize to Leticia right now! How can you have no manners?!"
She then commanded Felix, "Felix, Leticia is your sister. Tell your wife to apologize immediately!"
Felix, looking displeased, frowned at me. "Kaitlyn, apologize to my sister."
I widened my eyes in disbelief. "Are you serious?"
Chapter 2
I couldn't believe these words were coming from Felix.
I was from Harresburg, and his family was from a rural area.
Sadie always wanted him to marry someone from their village, someone close by who could take care of her and Leticia in the future.
She has always disliked me, a daughter-in-law from the city.
Leticia, spoiled by Sadie, was arrogant and rude, and she believed I took her brother away, treating me terribly.
My parents were strongly against our marriage.
But Felix and I were college sweethearts, and he always treated me well.
So I didn't mind his poor background, nor Sadie's harshness, nor Leticia's rudeness, and married him despite my parents' objections.
After getting pregnant with my son the second year of our marriage, I quit my job as a design manager to focus on being a stay-at-home mom.
I always tried to keep the peace with Sadie and Leticia despite the occasional conflicts.
Today was Felix's 30th birthday, and Sadie and Leticia came from the countryside to celebrate. I'd been busy all day without a word of complaint.
I just thought, as long as Felix was good to me, it was enough.
But now, reality slapped me hard in the face.
Waking me up to the fact that being a love-struck fool was not wise!
"You'd better apologize right now! Or I'll have my brother divorce you!"
"How dare you! My mom never hit me, and you hit me!"
Leticia, seeing I wasn't speaking, grew even more furious.
Sadie scolded, "Are you deaf? My son told you to apologize to Leticia! What kind of thing are you?!"
I coldly looked at them. "My son is always polite to strangers, calling them brother and sister! He wouldn't tell Leticia to get lost for no reason! She must have done something to him!"
Leticia yelled, "What could I have done?! I was just playing with him!"
Sadie echoed, "Exactly! Leticia is a good kid!"
Felix's face turned dark with anger, glaring at me.
I picked up my phone and played back the surveillance footage. "Let's see the surveillance footage!"
The footage showed.
Leticia played with my son's teddy bear.
It was his favorite teddy bear, which he even sleeped with.
She held it high, then lowered it when he couldn't reach, repeating this for half an hour.
When he got tired and didn't want it anymore, Leticia cut the teddy bear into pieces.
She maliciously smiled and said to him, "Since you don't want it, let's throw it away."
Under the collapse, her son said, 'Get lost!'
Then came what I saw when I stepped in.
I turned off the footage. "See clearly? Leticia started it."
Sadie was unreasonable. "What do you mean Leticia started it? It's just a teddy bear! Cutting it up is nothing compared to Leticia!"
Leticia added insultingly, "I'm your elder! Your family claims to be cultured, yet you hit your elders? How uncultured! Apologize now!"
I sneered, "What kind of elder are you? Bullying a five-year-old, don't you have any shame?"
"Leticia compared to a teddy bear? A teddy bear has value! Leticia is nothing!"
Sadie sat on the ground, kicking her legs and throwing a tantrum. "Oh, what a sin! My hard-raised son doesn't care about his mother and sister once he has a wife! Letting this wicked wife bully us!"
Leticia also sat on the ground. "What a sin! Even teaching our Galvan family's grandson to be bad!"
Felix, his face red with anger, shouted, "Just apologize to my sister, it's not a big deal!"
I glanced at him. "You still think I should apologize?"
Felix frowned. "You shouldn't have contradicted my mom and sister."
In Felix's stunned eyes, I slapped him hard. "Contradicting your mother and sister? I've been good to you all these years, and you've become arrogant, haven't you?"
Chapter 3
Sadie and Leticia were dumbfounded on the ground.
Sadie was the first to snap back to reality. She jumped up and touched Felix's face, distressed, "Son, does it hurt?"
Leticia also got up and surrounded Felix, instigating, "Felix, you've married a viper! She's going to turn the Galvan family upside down!"
Felix covered his face, still looking at me in disbelief.
I sent my son to his room and quickly ran to the kitchen to grab a kitchen knife.
They were so scared that they kept retreating.
I slammed the knife on the table. "Shout! Why aren't you shouting anymore? If you shout again, I'll slice you up one by one!"
Sadie's face turned pale. "Kaitlyn, don't be impulsive!"
Leticia was also trembling. "It's illegal to kill, you have to think of Kane!"
I pointed the knife at the door. "You two! Get out of my house now!"
Felix, afraid they would provoke me further, hurriedly drove them away.
"Son, that viper won't hurt you, right?"
"Mom, she won't. Kaitlyn loves Felix. Let's go quickly. Felix will handle this."
The room finally became quiet.
Felix resumed his gentle demeanor. "Alright, honey, don't be angry anymore. Look at you, you were so fierce, scaring them away, and you even hit me. You've vented enough, put the knife down, be good."
My initially calm emotions exploded instantly.
Obviously, the one who suffered just now was my son!
I was the one facing their family's insults and forced to apologize!
Yet he thought I was fierce! That I scared them!
In the end, I was the sinner!
I broke down completely, hysterically shouting, "In your eyes, everything is my fault! Your sister is aggrieved, your mom is aggrieved! But I am not a person!"
Felix impatiently said, "Can you stop being so unreasonable? How did you become like this? It's really incomprehensible! Calm down yourself!"
With that, he sat on the sofa and started watching TV.
As if everything had nothing to do with him.
I suddenly felt disheartened, the infatuation seemed to be suddenly pulled out of my brain.
I coldly said, "Felix, let's get a divorce."
Felix still watched TV without moving.
I walked straight back to the room, picked up my son, and headed out.
Felix realized I was serious, quickly chased after me, and grabbed me. "Have you had enough?"
I sneered, "What? Get your filthy hand off my shoulder."
He didn't let go.
I put my son down. "Son, turn around."
My son obediently turned his back to us.
I grabbed Felix by the hair, swung my hand, and slapped him in the face. "If you mess with me again, I'll slam you against the wall and you won't be able to get off!"
Felix fought back while cursing, "Shrew! Shrew!"
I laughed mockingly, "Did you just meet me today?"
Probably, I had been playing the virtuous wife and loving mother for so long that he forgot I was the queen bee at Anaville University!
He stopped fighting back and resigned himself.
I clapped my hands, picked up my son, and left in high spirits.
I had to say, sometimes it felt great to be a shrew!
