Chapter 1

My sister signed up for the deep-sea diving class opened by my husband, Caleb Robinson, and insisted on going into the sea before she even finished her training.

When the accident happened, instead of saving me, who was gradually losing consciousness in the sea, Caleb held Ella when she was having cramps onto the boat.

Another trainee, Isaac Phillips, stopped him and said that I might die in the sea if Caleb didn't send me to the hospital.

However, he glanced at me with disgust. "Ella is your sister. Can you please stop treating all women as your love rivals?"

He didn't know that while he was rescuing her, I was also attacked by a sea creature.

Losing feelings in my legs, I gradually sank to the bottom of the sea. I was really dying.

——

Before diving, I felt vaguely ominous.

But I finally agreed as Ella begged me, and Caleb also promised not to go to the deep water.

In his many years of work as a senior diving coach, none of his trainees met any accident.

So, I had to agree.

But when we really reached the bottom of the sea, Caleb just let Ella go deeper. When a bunch of sea creatures inexplicably attacked us, he immediately protected her in his arms and swam upwards.

Being attacked by an unknown creature, I felt a tingling pain in my legs, and soon, they became numb. My consciousness began to fade away, and I tried my best but couldn't swim at all.

Isaac was the first to perceive that something was wrong with me. He pulled me out of the attack of sea creatures and swam upwards with all his might.

By the time we struggled to swim out of the water, Caleb and Ella had already boarded the boat.

I shook my dizzy head and tried to take off the mask to talk but found that I couldn't control my hands.

Isaac pulled the rope and said anxiously, "Mr. Robinson, there's something wrong with Leah. She couldn't swim at all in the sea just now because of the wounds caused by the sea monsters. Please help pull her up first. Let's take her to the hospital as soon as possible."

But Caleb frowned at me in disappointment.

"I taught you guys how to dive myself, but why can't she react to such a small accident?

"If you try to play cute and delicate, play it nicer. If anyone knows my trainee is as artificial as you, they will regard me as an unprofessional coach!

"Ella is a novice, and she remembered to follow my teaching and gets on board. Leah once went cave diving with me. Can't you see why she's pretending she can't swim now?

"It's just because I protected her sister when the sea monsters attacked them just now. This jealous woman treats her own sister as her love rival again!"

At this moment, I no longer cared about my broken heart because my hands had lost feeling.

I couldn't grab Isaac anymore and began to slide out of his arms.

Isaac hurriedly took off my mask. "Leah, what do you feel now?"

Before I lost control of my tongue, I shouted to Caleb, "Help me, I'm not acting. I can't feel my limbs, I..."

Isaac also became gradually exhausted and could hardly hold me.

The sea water poured into my mouth and nose.

Seeing this, Isaac dragged my head so that my face could be in the air and held me tight in his arms.

"Mr. Robinson, pull the rope! There's something wrong with Leah!" he shouted, too.

However, Caleb just fixed his eyes on the part where Isaac's and my bodies were attached together, looking strange and weird.

"You must be fooled by this slutty bitch. She's alright! Just hear how loudly she just shouted," he said.

Then, he threw down a lifeboat.

He said, "Isaac, I'll give you a chance to see who she is! I'll take Ella to the hospital first and come back to pick you up later! If you don't want me to disturb you two, just send me a message. I won't delay your boat sex on the sea."

Meanwhile, Isaac carried me onto the lifeboat with all the strength he had left. I was so angry after hearing what Caleb said that I almost fell into the sea.

I didn't want to die but could no longer speak as loudly as I just shouted.

"Caleb, please... Take me with you... I don't want to die..."

Maybe he was a little touched by my begging, but eventually, he still sailed back without me.

"Leah Moore, you're so pathetic. You are an adult, so be more sensible, okay? I will not tolerate you bullying Ella anymore!"

Bully?

When did I bully her?

I just wanted to get on the boat and go to the hospital with them.

The stabbing pain deep in my head and the numbness of my tongue made me only utter only a faint cry for help. "...I will die..."

He didn't hear it.

Chapter 2

My voice was drowned out by Ella's artificial cries.

"Caleb, I didn't mean to!" she said.

I struggled to see her whole body leaning in Caleb's arms.

"Caleb, was I injured by the sea monsters? I can't stand upright!"

Isaac roared at them, "You bastard, Caleb!"

But he just sneered and gently held Ella.

"Don't be afraid, I will take you to the hospital right away," he said.

As their boat sailed away from us, I saw Ella sitting on his lap, and he carefully rubbed her feet.

"Do you think it's okay? Maybe a little softer? Today is your first time diving in the deep sea, and you did a good job! It's normal to cramp in a panic, but if you're really injured by the sea creatures, I can't examine you now, so we have to go to the hospital!" he said.

With thousands of creatures on the seabed, there were also thousands of unknown dangers.

"If you feel unwell, please let me know immediately, and I will take you to the hospital as soon as possible. If you carelessly ignore small accidents, you may not even know how you died."

That was what Caleb told me hundreds of times when he taught me how to dive.

But when I really had an accident, he completely forgot all those words.

No, he remembered everything but just forgot about me.

Now, he could only see my half-sister who would destroy anything that belonged to me that she couldn't snatch.

After laughing at me viciously, Ella wore a pitiful face when she said to Caleb, "Don't worry about me. Just pull Leah onto the boat, okay? She's also frightened. What if she's not pretending?"

But Caleb just sneered, "You are just too naive to see through her nature."

Isaac shouted abuse, "Caleb Robinson, you bastard, she's your wife! Don't you even worry if she dies?"

In my blurred vision, Caleb and Ella sailed farther and farther away.

At this moment, my heart sank into the dark and deep seabed.

Lying on the lifeboat, I felt the switch of burning and coldness in where I still had consciousness. But the pricking pain kept lingering near my left chest.

It was like thousands of antis consuming my heart.

I couldn't move my body below the neck but could still clearly feel the pain.

Isaac took out his cell phone with trembling hands to call for help.

I looked at him to show my gratitude but couldn't say anything now.

I knew I was dying.

"Leah! Hold on a little longer. I've called the police for help!" he said.

I shook my head at him bitterly, looking at the black spot of Caleb and Ella's ship in the distance. I slowly closed my eyes, tears rolling down the corners of my eyes.

"Leah! Don't sleep!" He called my name in panic and gave me first aid frantically.

I was still dead.

But my soul was pulled by a force and floated rapidly towards their ship.

When I floated to Caleb, he had already changed into clean clothes and was sitting at the dining table drinking coffee.

But his coffee had already been cold.

Ella came out of the locker room, stared at him for a few seconds, and deliberately fell to the ground.

"Hiss... It hurts..."

Hearing the noise, he stood up so hurriedly that coffee was spilled on his body.

His white shirt was stained, but Caleb, a man with germaphobe, didn't even notice that and hurried over to help Ella up.

I had never seen him so nervous.

Even when I got my foot pricked while cave diving, he treated me calmly and seemed to have everything under control.

Ella pursed her lips and sobbed.

"Caleb, it's all my fault for insisting on going to the deep sea. Will I die?" she said.

Hearing that, he couldn't help hugging her more tightly and commanded the captain to speed up.

Meanwhile, he took out his cell phone, knelt beside her feet, and carefully checked if she had any wounds.

His hand slowly slid across Ella's smooth and intact legs. His hot breath made her shiver and groan, "Caleb, stop..."

His hand stopped awkwardly, and his face instantly turned red.

Caleb said, "Ella, why don't you check yourself? If you can find the wound now, the doctor can treat it quickly when you go to the hospital."

However, she put her legs on his lap and said softly, "You must be more professional than me. Please help me now, it's just... I feel a little itchy... but I can bear it!"

She looked at him with watery eyes like a frightened deer.

She was seducing him, and she succeeded. Caleb was turned on because of these seemingly seductive words.

How to attract people's care was her best capability.

She stole my dad with ease in the past, not to mention stealing a man who had been attracted by her in the first place.

Caleb's hands clenched involuntarily. He stopped checking Ella's legs and hid aside.

Although I knew he was controlling himself, my anger still surged.

The pain gnawing at my heart became more and more unbearable.

Ella talked about me hypocritically, "My sister might have been injured in the attack. Let's go back and pick her up. My father will be mad at me if she is injured."

As she spoke, tears kept falling down from her red eyes.

She spoke as if I was the one who bullied her at home.

Caleb became more sympathetic to her.

"She faked to be so delicate! What could happen to an experienced diver like her? Besides, Isaac is taking care of her, and maybe he has gotten laid with her!" he said.

A man who cheated on his wife feared most if his wife would cheat on him.

Isaac and I were in the same archaeological team. Due to the dull work, we liked to challenge our limits and signed up for a diving class together. That was how I got to know Caleb.

If it was really like Caleb's guess, I wouldn't have married him.

However, after being instigated by Ella, he became more and more convinced that Isaac and I were having an affair.

He grabbed every chance to indicate that I cheated on him.

I didn't invite Isaac to dive this time. It was Ella who invited him by my name.

I just couldn't simply kick him back.

If it weren't for Isaac, I would have been the sea creatures' lunch.

After the ship docked, Caleb immediately drove Ella to the hospital.

He was in a hurry and lost his temper in the emergency department because he couldn't cut in line.

"My sister was attacked by some unknown creatures in the sea and is feeling very unwell now. Examine her now, or you won't be able to bear the consequences!"

The doctor was also frightened by his tone and immediately gave her a rough body check. Then, he speechlessly asked Caleb and Ella to wait in line.

He grabbed the doctor by the collar. "Is that what you do as a doctor? Can't you see she doesn't feel well?"

Ella wept silently, tugging his sleeve with her little hand. "Caleb, I... I feel better now, let's get in line!"

The intimate way she called him immediately made the other anxious family members of the patients in the emergency room look at them critically.

However, Caleb put his arm around her waist and glared back at them one by one.

I had never seen him behave so chaotically and childishly.

When my fever from the flu reached 104 Fahrenheit degrees, he seemed as if nothing had happened and asked me to wait in line in the middle of the night.

I was shivering with fever and wanted him to hold me to keep me warm, but he said in disgust, "We're not at home. It will make others uncomfortable."

The doctor at that time even noticed there was something serious with my body as I almost stumbled and requested Caleb to carry me to the bed to have a rest. Caleb refused to do so, saying that I couldn't take up the first aid bed just because of this trivial fever.

However, after hearing Ella's weep, he didn't even care about his face, which he valued most, and urged the doctor like this.

Everything he said and did made me realize that I was a joke.

I used to think he was just a calm and aloof person, but now, it turned out that I was not so important in his heart.

Unfortunately, I realized it too late.

Chapter 3

After they queued up for the examination, Ella was intact from the accident.

Lowering her head in shame, she looked as if she had done something wrong.

"Caleb, I..."

Instead of blaming, Caleb comforted her, "Fortunately, nothing happened; otherwise, it would be a big problem!"

So, he knew there would be a big problem if someone was injured by those sea creatures.

But he didn't know that my biggest trouble was that I lost my life.

After being comforted, she still looked worried.

"I don't want to go home, Caleb. I'm afraid that my father will know I left my sister at sea..." she said.

Caleb immediately called my dad, Michael Moore, and said that Ella and I were going to have a small gathering today, and that she would stay at our house.

He didn't suspect anything.

To him, I should satisfy all of her requests. He even thought I should give my house to her, let alone accommodate her for a night.

What I didn't expect was that he brought her back to our new house that we had not yet moved into.

He and I planned to have a child by the end of the year, so we bought a villa in a school district.

Ella lived in the house I had carefully decorated but never lived in for a single day.

As Caleb entered the house, I realized that someone was already living in the villa.

It was Caleb's mother, Melissa Shaw, who didn't visit my ward when I had an accidental miscarriage but reprimanded me for failing to protect my baby.

Such an insult was uncontrollable to me, so I told her that I wouldn't take care of her when she got old.

However, my words got on Caleb's nerves.

"That's my mother! You have to take care of her when she's old! Just accept whatever she says! Do you want me to kill her for such a small matter?" he said.

That was the most intense argument we had ever had.

For the sake of family harmony, he promised that Melissa wouldn't live with us.

It turned out that she had lived in this wonderful villa a long time ago.

Perhaps Melissa hated me, she also looked up and down at Ella with displeasure.

She asked, "Why did you bring her back? Where's Leah?"

I was a little surprised for a moment.

The first person who cared about me was Melissa, who hated me all the time.

How ironic!

Soon, I realized that maybe she perceived at the first glance that Ella stole Caleb from the experience she fought with Caleb's father's mistresses when she was young.

Ignoring her protest, Caleb led her to a guest bedroom.

He said, "Mom, she's staying here for the next few days. Please don't embarrass her. Michael will argue about this."

My ghost laughed miserably.

Melissa just sighed and quit stopping him.

"Caleb, you have been married, don't mess around with your marriage!" she said.

He looked speechless and glanced at her without saying anything.

She shook her head and sent me a message: [Leah, are you going to abandon your family? You have failed to protect your unborn baby, and now, are you going to give up your husband? Come to the villa and kick your bitchy sister out! She makes me uncomfortable!]

For the first time, I felt a hint of warmth amidst Melissa's curses.

This world was really crazy!

That night, Caleb returned to our little home instead of staying in that villa.

Finding out I didn't come back home, he had a momentary blank face and immediately cursed in rage.

"Damn it!"

After hesitating, he called me, but no one answered.

After hesitating, he called me, but no one answered. My cell phone was damaged in the water when I was attacked by sea creatures, so no one answered his call!

He didn't give up and started calling Isaac.

Still, no one answered.

Caleb was so inflamed that he punched the coffee table hard into pieces. It survived from being smashed by an iron ball five years ago.

It was just like our marriage, broken and bloody.

Caleb looked at his bleeding hand in astonishment, his eyelids twitching.

"Fuck!"

Gentle as he was, he would curse when I irritated him.

When I thought he was going to the hospital for bandaging, he collapsed on the sofa.

The blood stopped dripping after a while, but he forced a lot of blood out of his hand like a lunatic and only stopped when he grimaced in pain.

Then he took a photo of his injury and sent it to me.

Caleb: [Leah, I'm injured! You'll have half an hour to go home, or we're done!]

My ghost was laughing so hard beside him, and all his torture himself was to make me anxious and go home as soon as possible.

He thought I was messing around with Isaac!

I don't understand. Shouldn't he be outraged and catch us in a hotel or something?

What was he trying to prove by deliberately creating this miserable scene?

Was he trying to prove that I still loved him?

All my love for him had gone when he left me in the sea.

And it was impossible for me to love him when I became a ghost!
