Chapter 2
After I returned to my rental house, Sarah called me.
"Olivia, Nicole wants Liam to go to school in the city. Rent a house for her and find someone to get her into a better high school."
Just like in my previous life, they wanted to use my money to rent a house. And I had to be responsible for their daily life.
If I disagreed, Sarah would cry on the phone and say, "Liam is the only boy in the family. You should take care of him."
They didn't pay a penny and just spent my money.
I had a very difficult time during that time, as I had to support Nicole's family and my parents.
But this time, I didn't want to do so again.
"Mom, I've put all my money into financial management lately."
The mother, Sarah, said incredulously, "Don't you trust those things the most? You're afraid that you'll lose everything if you're not careful. Don't you just want Liam to go?"
I sighed, "Mom, of course I want Liam to come here. I have a friend who made a lot of money some time ago, and he told me a way to make money."
"Really?" She was still a little skeptical.
"Really! Mom, why would I lie to you?" I said in a firm tone.
Sarah didn't say anything. I knew she was moved.
"Okay then. Remember to tell me as soon as you make money. I'll go talk to Nicole first."
After hanging up the phone, I sneered.
They still wanted to use my money. No way.
After a period of normal life, I went to get off work and came home every day, ate delicious food and enjoyed my life.
Until one day, I had just finished a meeting and found that my cell phone was flooded with calls.
Looking at this time point, I remembered that it was at this time that Liam was diagnosed with cancer.
Another call popped up on my phone.
I answered the call. Immediately, I heard Nicole's roar. "Stupid girl, where have you been? Why are you answering the phone now? Did you know Liam was sick?"
I asked knowingly, "What happened to Liam?"
Nicole said anxiously, "Liam was diagnosed with a health problem during the school physical examination. He went to the hospital for a checkup and the doctor said it was cancer! Come back quickly and find a solution."
I pretended to be embarrassed. "But I can't go back now. The hospital sent me to another place for inspection."
"I don't care. You have to come back. You are Liam's cousin. How can you just stand by and watch him die?" Nicole said gritting her teeth.
To put it bluntly, she just wanted me to pay for the medical expenses.
Only a fool would go back. I rolled my eyes.
I didn't want to continue arguing with her, so I just hung up the phone.
Seeing that the phone was still ringing, I turned off my phone and changed my phone number.
Chapter 3
On the weekend, there was a hurried knock on the door, followed by Nicole's yelling.
"Olivia, open the door!
"You damned bitch. Are you jealous that Liam is the only boy in the family, so you deliberately let him die without helping him?
"Come on. Come and take a look. The girl who lives here is called Olivia. She is a bitch who wishes her cousin would die."
I picked up the bucket full of water, opened the door and poured the water out.
"Ah!" Nicole screamed.
"I'm sorry. I didn't see you. There was a water leak in the house just now, and I was using a bucket to pour the water out." I said the words of apology. But there was no apology on my face.
"You bitch. I'm going to tear you apart." Nicole pounced on me with disheveled hair.
I dodged to the side. She fell to the ground. Then she wanted to get up and rush towards me, but was held back by the person following her.
"Don't forget why we are here," Owen whispered in her ear.
She stopped reluctantly, but still glared at me fiercely.
At this time, Sarah came over, held my hand and said, "Olivia, why can't I contact you recently?"
I calmly took my hand back and said, "Oh, I changed my phone number."
Sarah was speechless.
Quinn asked me, "Why?"
I looked helpless and waved my hand. "There is a flea that is so annoying."
"You..." Upon hearing this, Nicole was about to rush up and hit me again, but was held tightly by Owen.
"Olivia, I want to ask you a favor. Liam has cancer. It's definitely not possible to treat him in a small hospital. Can you transfer him to a big hospital?"
Sarah begged me.
"Sure." I agreed without thinking.
I couldn't just let go of the hatred for the person who killed me in my previous life.
I quickly completed the transfer procedures for Liam.
"I didn't realize you were so filial." Nicole looked at this VIP ward with great satisfaction.
"Of course, I have to. I have even invited the most authoritative doctor for Liam."
After all, they were the ones who pay for this money. And I was already looking forward to their reaction later.
"My dear daughter. I has something to discuss with you. It is about our accommodation problem..."
Before Sarah could finish her words, a nurse came in.
"Who are Liam's family members?"
Nicole came forward quickly. "I am. Is the doctor here? How is Liam?"
The nurse said, "Come with me to pay the fee first."
"Olivia, go pay the bill quickly." Nicole pushed me forward.
I looked at her in confusion and said, "Didn't my mom tell you that I put all my money into my financial account? I have no extra money."
"How is that possible? I don't believe it. Give me your bank card so I can check it." As she said that, Nicole was about to snatch my bag.
I immediately glanced at the nurse and hid behind her.
"Hurry up. Are you going to pay the fee or not? If you don't pay, he won't be able to get follow-up treatment," The nurse said with some impatience.
"I'll be there right away. Right away." Nicole looked at the nurse in a flattering manner, and glared at me fiercely before leaving.
I smiled. I had arranged the best ward and the best doctor for Liam. I would make her spend a lot of money this time.
Chapter 4
Sure enough, she came back after a while with a gloomy face.
"Olivia! You did this on purpose!" Nicole said angrily.
I looked innocent. "Nicole, what are you talking about?"
"What's wrong?" Sarah asked Nicole.
"You don't know what your daughter has done!" Nicole threw a list at Sarah.
Sarah looked at the list in confusion, and Owen also leaned over to take a look. When they saw the payment of two hundred thousand dollars on the list, their faces suddenly changed.
"Olivia, how could you choose such a shady hospital to cheat Nicole?"
"God, you've swindled me of all the money I've earned in my lifetime."
Faced with the questioning from Sarah and Nicole, I immediately burst into tears.
"Nicole, I just want Liam to get the best treatment and get well soon. Don't misunderstand me.
"You can check it online. This is the best hospital. I begged the dean to find a specialist for Liam. But you say this to me now!
"Although experts are expensive, they can ensure that Liam will not have any sequelae in the future."
I started to cry and looked really hurt.
"Mom, Olivia did the right thing. I don't want any sequelae," Liam said.
Hearing that Liam said so, she gave up.
"Then there's no need for a VIP ward."
After hearing what Nicole said, Liam spoke first before I could even start to show off my acting skills.
"I'll live in this ward. I'm the only boy in my family. Don't I deserve such good treatment? I won't live in a regular ward with those poor people."
When Liam saw that the facilities in the VIP ward were so good, with a single room and an independent toilet, he naturally didn't want to go to the ordinary ward anymore.
"But we don't have much money left." Nicole said with a sad face.
"I don't care. I'm going to live here. If you don't have money, you can go to the construction site to work." Liam started to make trouble unreasonably.
Owen rolled his eyes and then smiled strangely.
"Okay, Liam, just live here peacefully. Your cousin is a doctor here. If you have any problem, just ask Olivia."
Nicole immediately chimed in. "Yes, Liam, your cousin will definitely not ignore you."
The couple had a lot of bad intentions.
I didn't know what they were thinking. They just wanted me to pay for the follow-up.
No way.
I ignored them and turned away.
Sarah stopped me and said, "Olivia... where do you think we should live?"
She looked at me ingratiatingly.
I thought about it and said, "Just stay at the house I rented. I'll go back and pack my things and stay at my friend's house."
Hearing this, they all breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that I would ignore them again.
But they didn't know that my house lease was going to expire in a week and I would need to pay the rent again.
