Chapter 6

While negotiating with Daniel, Dolly and Cora stood by, wanting to speak but hesitating.

Especially Dolly, her eyes were about to pop out and fall to the ground.

She was unwilling to let me take away Daniel's property, but she was also afraid that I wouldn't divorce him, which would be detrimental to her grandson.

When I was packing my luggage, she stood outside the bedroom door and kept pointing fingers at me.

"If it were in our hometown, a woman who can't bear children would be hanged to apologize to her husband's family."

I couldn't be bothered to deal with her, but she kept talking and I couldn't help but retort, "There are still rules in our hometown. Useless old people over sixty have to be thrown into the mountains to feed the wolves."

"When are you going up the mountain, since you're already in your sixties?"

Dolly is sixty-three this year, and I made her so angry that she walked unsteadily.

Daniel is fine, leaning against the door watching me pack, with an unclear expression.

I left with my suitcase, and on the way, he suddenly said, "Actually, you don't have to leave."

"I don't have such a good tolerance to share a room with the other woman."

I walked straight past him and headed towards the door.

When I reached the door, I suddenly turned around and looked straight at Cora.

She was startled and couldn't hide the expression on her face. She could only awkwardly force a smile, trying to maintain her innocent and pure image.

After a long time, I sneered.

"Daniel, you will regret it."

I glanced at Cora's belly with a meaningful look and left gracefully.

Chapter 7

After leaving the Allen family, I found a hotel and lay there for half a month in a row. It's fake to say that I'm not sad.

When my friend heard about my situation, he came all the way from the neighboring province to visit me.

I made an appointment with her at the coffee shop.

"Did you hear that Daniel's mistress is pregnant? Is it true or not?"

"Yeah."

"But isn't Daniel...?" My friend gestured twice, suddenly realizing.

"The child isn't Daniel's?"

My face looked ugly for a moment, but I still nodded.

As early as six years ago, Daniel lost his fertility.

That's also the reason why I haven't mentioned the child for these years.

Besides me, the only person who knows about this is my friend who is a doctor.

I felt sorry for Daniel at that time, and I was afraid of hurting his self-esteem, so I didn't tell him about this.

"What are you going to do?"

I looked at the coffee absentmindedly and said after a while, "Whether he gets divorced or not is his own business, and I won't interfere."

Although I no longer have feelings for Daniel, and even have some resentment, the past feelings were not fake, and I don't want to ruin his expectations for the child.

"Let it be like this, sometimes not knowing is a kind of happiness."

My friend nodded without saying anything.

Just then, a figure suddenly walked over.

Chapter 8

"Julia Ann!"

It was Daniel.

Daniel tightly grabbed my wrist and said, "Where have you been these days? You didn't answer my calls or messages. Do you know how worried I was about you?"

A series of questions made me a little confused, and I couldn't help but say, "What's it to you?"

Does he think I'm trying to commit suicide? I thought.

I shook off his hand, feeling speechless in my heart, and said, "Who do you think you are? Do you think you're worth me dying for?"

Daniel didn't answer, his gaze locked on my friend sitting across from me, with an unpleasant expression on his face.

"It's only been half a month since the divorce, and you're already eager to find a new partner?"

Anger appeared in his eyes, and there was even a hint of grievance in his voice.

I was quite speechless.

I glanced at my friend, who had a look of enjoying the show on their face.

I was instantly at a loss for words, "What? Is it not allowed?"

"You are allowed to have an affair while married? But I'm not allowed to be single and date?"

"Why didn't you care about this before?"

Daniel was momentarily speechless after being confronted by me. When I mentioned the affair, all his anger suddenly dissipated.

After a long while, he lowered his eyes and said, "During the half month you were gone, I missed you a lot."

"Julia, I regret it. I can't let you go."

"All I want is a child. When she gives birth to the child, I will give her some money, and then we can remarry."

Daniel's voice was low and his tone was indescribably gentle.

"Is that so?"

My gaze went past him and landed on Cora behind him.

Clearly, she had heard everything.

But she didn't say anything, and even smiled.

"Daniel, look at the clothes I bought for the baby, are they cute?"

She took out a small piece of clothing and gestured with her hand.

Daniel's expression instantly softened, and he smiled gently, "Cute, just as cute as our baby."

"Julia, I know you like Daniel, but we are already married. I hope you stop bothering my husband."

Cora suddenly changed the subject and shouted loudly.

In an instant, the eyes of the entire coffee shop fell on us.

"And I'm already pregnant, Julia, please be kind and don't destroy my family, okay?"

She said, suddenly kneeling down to me, implying that I am the third party, and leading everyone to attack me.

I almost laughed, "What? Kneeling down so easily? It's really hard for you without becoming a slave."

"Daniel Allen, manage your mistress! Don't come out and disgust me!"

Daniel's face turned pale, and he was about to pull Cora up with a black face.

But before Daniel could act, Cora suddenly rushed towards me and tightly hugged my legs.

I was startled for a moment and instinctively pulled my leg out, trying to distance myself from her.

But with just this simple action, she seemed to be hurt and fell backwards.
