Chapter 3
I couldn't stand it anymore; my tears flowed uncontrollably.
This trash—he was so arrogant, and right in my own house.
In my daughter's room.
I had to kill him. Absolutely.
Fighting back my emotions, I went to find my daughter.
She was silent the entire way. I tried everything to cheer her up, but she didn't say a word.
Several times, she opened her mouth to say something, looking at me, but in the end, she closed it with tears in her eyes.
My heart ached, but I hugged her tightly.
"Nina, don't be afraid. Whatever happened, Mommy's here. I'll avenge you."
Finally, her tears flowed, and she timidly whispered.
"Mom, I'm scared."
"Mom, Dad said not to tell anyone."
"He said if anyone finds out, he will kill me."
I held her even tighter. I needed to give her enough sense of security.
I wanted my lively, cheerful daughter back.
"Don't be afraid. Anyone who bullies my Nina, I'll kill them first."
Yes, I would kill him first.
I found a fruit knife in the kitchen and stuffed it into my pocket before heading to Maya's house.
As I approached the door, I could hear laughter inside.
Liam was there.
"Alex, your grades have been great lately. Keep up the good work, okay? Uncle will come over to tutor you every day."
"Uncle, can I go to your house again?"
"Not right now. That nasty woman is back, and she's as fierce as a tiger."
"Then bring Nina next time!"
"Sure, I'll bring her tomorrow."
Damn it!
I kicked open the slightly ajar door.
Liam saw me, startled for a moment, but quickly regained his composure.
"Monica, what are you doing here?"
I looked at him with my back teeth clenched.
"What do you think I'm doing? Don't you have your own home? Don't you have your own kid? Why are you so eager to tutor someone else's child?"
"What nonsense are you talking about? I'm a tutor. What's wrong with helping a child study?"
Huh!
A tutor.
"Did she pay you? Even a single penny?"
"Did you ever get a single cent from her?"
Maya, seeing me, smiled smugly.
"I offered to pay him, but Liam didn't want any. It's not my fault."
Chapter 4
I couldn't be bothered to look at her. I hadn't come today to argue about tutoring fees.
I walked straight toward that trash. He instinctively backed away.
I forced him into a corner, trapping him against the wall.
He shrank, pretending to be an innocent little kitten.
"Auntie, what are you doing?"
Looking at this beast, all I could think about was my daughter crying out in pain.
I pulled out the fruit knife and stabbed straight at him.
Maya screamed, and Liam reacted quickly. Just as my knife was about to plunge into that animal's stomach, Liam pulled me away.
"Monica, what are you doing? Are you crazy?"
Yes, I was crazy!
Completely insane!
I swung the knife wildly at Liam.
"Liam, your daughter was bullied, and you really didn't know anything about it?"
His eyes flashed with anger.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Are you trying to ruin Alex's future?"
"Your daughter's life has been ruined by him, and you don't care? Is she even your daughter?"
For a brief moment, guilt flickered in Liam's eyes—but only for a moment.
Maya stood protectively in front of that beast, while the creature peered out from behind the two of them, taunting me.
"Uncle, save me! I really didn't do anything."
Liam snatched the fruit knife from me and slapped me hard across the face.
"Monica, enough."
But I could never give up. I grabbed at him relentlessly, scratching and clawing at him.
He viciously kicked me in the stomach.
I was knocked down and couldn't get up, that beast stood over me, looking down with disdain.
"Auntie, but I really do like Nina, please just let me have her."
Despite the sharp pain, I grabbed his ankle, causing him to lose his balance and fall heavily to the ground.
Liam, like a protective hen, quickly cushioned his fall, then turned.
Immediately, he started punching and kicking me again.
"Get out! Just go! Stop embarrassing yourself here!"
Chapter 5
I wanted to call the police, but Nina is so sensitive.
If I reported it, others would find out, and she wouldn't be able to handle it.
So I endured it, waiting for the right moment to take that beast down.
But before I could act, he did something even worse.
I saw a video online of my daughter being bullied.
In my own house, in my daughter's bedroom.
She was screaming in pain.
Her face was clearly visible.
Her face was full of tears.
And that beast? His face was blurred out, completely unrecognizable.
With bloodshot eyes, I stormed into Liam's training center.
I grabbed his collar.
"Liam, did you see that? This is the person you brought into Nina's life!"
His face turned ashen.
"What's wrong with you now?"
I threw my phone at him, thinking he'd be just as furious as me.
But after just one glance, he turned to question me instead.
"How do you even raise your daughter, to let something like this happen?"
I grabbed a nearby chair and smashed it against him.
"Liam, is Nina not your daughter? Don't you care about her at all?"
"Just because he's Maya's son, and you like Maya, you're willing to give our daughter to that beast?"
He slapped me.
"Stop talking nonsense."
"Nonsense? Liam, can't you see? Can't you see our daughter being abused?"
"Can't you see what that beast has done?"
Finally, Liam looked at the video again, showing a hint of emotion.
The office door opened, and Maya walked in with that beast, as if she owned the place.
