Chapter 6

But she was even more unreasonable than I had thought!

No matter how much she made a scene, she still had to pay her debts.

After being sued by my boss, she refused to pay for the car repairs and became a judgment defaulter.

Furious, she stormed into my boss's office and shouted, "Ethan Carter, how can you be so heartless? Is it worth it to treat me like this over a little money?

"Withdraw the case and apologize to me now. Then I might forgive you. Otherwise, I will never talk to you for the rest of my life."

My boss just said, "Call security!"

From then on, whenever she was within 1,500 feet of the company, the security guards would immediately come out to stop her.

So she changed her strategy.

After her old apartment was forcibly seized by the court, she packed her bags and went to my boss's home.

"My apartment was taken by the court, and I have nowhere to go. This is all because of you, so you must take responsibility!"

My boss ignored her completely.

After all, his home was heavily guarded, and she couldn't get in at all.

After waiting outside his house for a few days, she had no choice but to leave in disgrace with her luggage.

But she never thought of giving up.

Taking advantage of her job as a waitress, she sneaked into a business dinner party my boss was attending, pretended to trip, and spilled red wine all over him.

My boss pushed her away with a cold face.

People around them watched with mocking eyes.

This trick was too obvious, and anyone with a discerning eye could see through her intentions.

Some of my boss's business partners even teased him, saying he was lucky.

My boss responded with an embarrassed smile.

Would you want to be so lucky? he thought.

Amira's mother cried every day for her unreasonable daughter.

She borrowed money everywhere to pay off Amira's debts while Amira was busy causing trouble.

I grew up with Amira because our mothers were close friends, and naturally, we became friends too.

Since her father passed away early, my mother took great care of them both.

I would share everything I had with her, whether it was food, toys, or anything else.

But ever since she became infatuated with the idea of a powerful CEO falling in love with her, she fantasized about him changing her fate and helping her rise to a different social class.

In my past life, I advised her repeatedly against it and helped her countless times, only to be blamed by her in the end, losing my life.

At that moment, I knew she was beyond saving.

And allowing her to continue down this path was the best punishment for her.

When Amira's mother found out I was Ethan's secretary, she wanted me to plead with him on their behalf, hoping he would show some leniency.

But Amira didn't take this matter seriously at all and said, "It's just a little money. Once I marry Ethan, I'll have as much as I want."

But she forgot that the premise was that she could actually marry my boss.

Chapter 7

The first time I met my boss's fiancée was at our office.

She truly lived up to the image of a pampered young lady from a wealthy family.

Her skin was tender, her eyes were big and bright, and she had two dimples when she smiled.

I was mesmerized.

She was even more beautiful than the movie stars I had seen on TV.

This was the kind of sweet, innocent girl that a CEO would fall in love with.

The key was that she was quite capable.

She graduated from MIT and served as the public relations director in her family business.

How could Amira naively think that my boss would give up such a beautiful and well-matched young lady to marry her, a girl with nothing to her name and a few screws loose?

But Amira was always confident.

One day, I went downstairs to buy coffee.

From a distance, I spotted two familiar figures.

Amira, with her arms crossed and an expression like a malicious supporting character in a novel, said, "Miss Moore, I advise you to give up. You can't compete with me. Although you are Ethan's fiancée, he doesn't love you at all. It's just a marriage of convenience between you two. If you're smart, you should stay away from him and stop bothering him."

Sophia looked puzzled and asked, "Who are you?"

Amira arrogantly raised her head and said, "You just need to know that he is my future husband, and only I can be his wife."

Sophia couldn't help but chuckle.

Amira's face darkened and she said, "What are you laughing at? You don't understand him at all. He will never be happy with you."

Sophia seemed to ponder this.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

My boss's fiancée, being his childhood sweetheart, had known him for over 20 years and naturally knew him better than Amira, an outsider, ever could.

Besides, the whole company knew how deep the feelings were between my boss and her.

During the toughest times, it was she who stood by my boss.

My boss rarely smiled, but every time he saw his fiancée, he would show a hint of a smile.

As soon as Sophia returned to my boss's office, she shared the incident as a joke with him.

My boss's face instantly turned cold.

He couldn't believe Amira would be crazy enough to harass his fiancée.

He made a call with a serious face.

It is time to teach that woman a lesson.
