Chapter 1

On the morning of the wedding with Logan Dent, I had just flown back from abroad.

I arrived at the hotel straight from the airport, still in full makeup and wedding dress, with no time to rest.

Before the ceremony started, I tried to catch a quick nap in my room, but I was interrupted by a woman in a wedding dress who claimed to be Logan's wife.

Accompanied by her entourage, she barged into my room, hurling accusations that I was a home-wrecker and a threat to her happiness.

She shouted, "Look at how brazen mistresses have become these days, daring enough to show up in a wedding dress and disrupt my wedding!

"You shameless mistress, just watch how I deal with you!"

She rallied her group to destroy my belongings.

They shredded my hair and wedding dress, broke my arm, killed my dog, and even ruined the life-saving medicine I had painstakingly brought from abroad for my mother.

They stripped me bare and dragged me to the wedding venue, forcing me to apologize.

As the woman prepared to rip away my last shred of decency, Logan finally arrived.

I glared at him with eyes full of despair.

"I will make sure you pay a hundredfold for today's humiliation!"

My assistant arrived with my marriage gifts and my beloved dog, Happy. I touched up my makeup and held Happy close as I tried to rest, but the noise outside the door was incessant.

"These mistresses today are out of control, openly provoking the bride at her own wedding. I'm going to make sure Scarlett gets her revenge."

"Scarlett and Logan have known each other since childhood, and they finally reached this day. This cheap woman cannot ruin it."

"Yes, I've always despised mistresses who are driven by money. I'll make her cry for sure."

"Thank you, everyone, for supporting me. I promise you won't be left wanting after this."

Though I was against their violent approach, I couldn't help but feel that times had truly changed, with mistresses becoming so audacious.

However, I thought, "Ultimately, shouldn't they be seeking answers from the man involved?"

I had just turned thirty-five, seven years older than Logan, and ran a law firm.

Fortunately, our relationship had always been stable.

I had carefully evaluated him for three years before accepting his proposal.

During this time, not only did he take excellent care of me, but he also tended to my mother, who suffered from ALS.

He handled all our daily concerns, and my mother spoke highly of him.

In return, I opened an art studio in his name.

Whether it was profitable or not didn't matter as long as Logan didn't feel like a failure while taking care of us.

Besides the year-end bonus, I entrusted most of my earnings to him for management.

In the past year alone, he had handled at least three million dollars.

Half an hour ago, we had a video call.

Since my mother couldn't attend the wedding due to health reasons, he had returned to my home to address her "Mom", making her extremely happy.

I was grateful for such a good partner when a sudden, loud knocking interrupted my thoughts.

I thought it was someone from the wedding company.

When I opened the door, a mob of angry faces stormed in.

"Are you Jennifer Portman?"

"Yes, I'm Jennifer. Who are..."

Before I could finish, someone smashed a bottle over my head.

The cold liquor drenched me, and a sharp pain followed.

Blood trickled down, mixed with the alcohol.

I felt dizzy, my head buzzing.

I let out a scream, clutching the door handle desperately to keep from collapsing.

Rage surged through me. I wiped my eyes, only to find my hands smeared with blood.

I looked up in shock, only to receive another brutal slap to the face.

The woman standing in front of me, gripping a broken bottle, was wearing the exact same wedding dress as I was.

Her eyes were wide with fury, her face twisted in a snarl as if she wanted to devour me whole.

Her voice was sharp and filled with venom.

"You shameless, old hag! Thinking you can seduce my husband with your desperate antics!

"Today, I, Scarlett, will make you regret ever trying to steal my man!"

Chapter 2

Happy rushed to my side, barking furiously with its back arched.

I couldn't understand a word they were saying.

Regardless of any misunderstandings, they had to answer for their actions.

I covered my head and turned to grab my phone to call the police.

Scarlett Bullock hurled the broken bottle at me and shouted, "She's trying to call for help—stop her!"

Immediately, two burly women shoved their way through the crowd and came charging at me. They seized my arms and twisted them painfully.

"Ah!"

My arm felt like it was about to snap.

I cried out in agony.

Scarlett quickly located my phone and, with a fierce motion, smashed it to the ground.

The phone shattered into countless pieces.

I shouted, "Let go of me! You're committing a crime!"

"Committing a crime? We're just dealing with a home-wrecker!"

"In the past, we'd just toss you in a ditch. Who has time to listen to your whining?"

"A shameless mistress who tries to steal Scarlett's man doesn't deserve to wear a wedding dress or get married. Dream on!"

One of the heavier women yanked off my veil, sending a sharp pain through my scalp.

Gritting my teeth, I snapped, "I'm not the one trying to seduce anyone. I'm here to get married today!"

A crowd had already gathered at the door.

Scarlett let out a derisive snort and glanced at the four open suitcases in the room, her face clouded with disdain.

One suitcase contained the expensive jewelry, watches, and confidential documents I brought for my trip abroad.

The other three were filled with my marriage gifts.

It was a collection of precious gemstones, rare artworks, and non-heritage collectibles, including gold bricks for strategic reserves, as well as property and business certificates.

After the wedding, these items were meant to be moved to the house I purchased under Logan's name.

Scarlett's eyes gleamed with fury. "This bitch has really been milking Logan for all he's worth.

"She's not just scamming Logan; she's also encouraged him to dump me. If every woman had such a greedy mistress around, how are we supposed to live?

"For someone who's destroying other people's marriages, do you think I should let her go?"

I could hardly believe my ears.

I thought, "Is it possible that on the same day, in the same hotel, there could be another groom named Logan?"

The odds were astronomically small.

It took me only a moment to realize that the Logan Scarlett was talking about was the same Logan I was supposed to marry today.

"I can't let her get away with this!"

"Taking down a mistress starts with me."

Scarlett had successfully stoked the anger of her entourage.

Every one of them was burning with rage. I suddenly found these people even more terrifying than I had imagined.

Outnumbered and with my phone destroyed, I endured the pain and tried to reason with them.

"Please let me go. There's been a misunderstanding. Logan and I just got married. We're legally married. If you don't believe me, you can call Logan to clear things up..."

Before I could finish, Scarlett kicked me sharply in the knee.

I collapsed to the floor, unable to control myself.

She continued to kick my back mercilessly.

I began to cough violently, wracked with pain.

For a moment, Scarlett's friends looked uncertain.

"You're married to Logan?"

"Scarlett, is this true?"

Scarlett looked up with a haughty expression and gave me another kick.

She said, "She's a complete fraud. Can you trust anything she says?

"You're bold to act so brazenly as a mistress. Logan promised me he'd only marry me. Do you think you're going to get him to help you?

"Sorry, but he's too busy preparing a surprise for me right now."

Scarlett smirked, caressing her belly with a smug expression.

"Let me fill you in on a little secret. I'm pregnant with Logan's child. So, you say you're married? Why isn't he asking you to have his baby?"

She turned to her entourage with a wicked grin. "Since she loves stealing other people's husbands so much, let's give her a surprise she won't forget. First, let's strip off this hideous wedding dress!"

Two burly women pushed me roughly to the ground, their faces lit with a twisted excitement.

"You filthy bitch, in the old days, they'd have stripped you naked and paraded you through the streets."

I struggled weakly, trying to protect myself.

I said, "Scarlett, stop! Don't escalate this. I'm bleeding from my head and need medical attention.

"Want Logan? Fine, I'll give him back to you. I'll divorce him tomorrow. I always keep my word."

But Scarlett only pressed her foot harder into my face, grinding it down mercilessly. "Regretting it now? Too late. Today, you're going to get a lesson you'll remember for the rest of your life.

"Girls, this trash has nothing but a sinful face and a useless mother. Don't be afraid. Keep stripping!"

Her bridesmaids descended on me like a pack of wild animals, tearing at my wedding dress.

When that didn't work, they grabbed scissors and started cutting.

"Logan loves my long hair. Why should she have it? Cut her hair off, and let's see how she attracts men now!"

Happy paced anxiously in front of me, barking at them desperately.

I knew that resisting only fueled their frenzy.

I gritted my teeth and stayed silent as they shredded my wedding dress, leaving me in just my undergarments and a transparent slip.

My head was reduced to uneven patches.

But my surrender didn't make them stop.

Instead, it only seemed to excite them further.

Scarlett's eyes glinted with cruel satisfaction. "Isn't it thrilling to take what others cherish? Today, I'm going to destroy everything you care about!"

Chapter 3

Scarlett strode over to my suitcase and picked up a bracelet I'd bought for 800 thousand dollars.

Inside the suitcase were two things of immense importance to me. A confidential document and a box of life-saving medicine for my mother.

Given her current rage, I feared she might do something utterly insane.

"Scarlett, please don't touch my things!" I pleaded, my voice trembling.

Without a word, Scarlett turned with a sinister smile, raising her hand and smashing the bracelet onto the floor.

It shattered into a million sparkling fragments.

My heart ached as I clenched my teeth.

She sneered, saying, "Your things?

"If you hadn't latched onto my Logan and deceived him, he wouldn't have bought you all this fancy stuff.

"Logan is my husband. His stuff is mine, so everything here belongs to me!"

I didn't want to argue with her. Logan had been living off me for years.

I said, "These things are expensive. I spent a lot of money to get them. If you want them, take them, but it's a shame they're broken."

Scarlett's anger seemed to be triggered anew.

"You think I'm going to accept your cast-offs? You think I'm some kind of trash collector?

"With Logan as mine, I can have any good thing I want. Why would I care about your junk?"

Yet her entourage's eyes showed they were eager for what they could get.

"You seem to cherish these items. Did you forget what I just said about destroying everything you care about?"

Scarlett crouched down, grabbing what was left of my hair and forcing me to look up.

Blood from my reopened wounds blurred my vision.

"Girls, smash those two boxes of jewelry!

"Aunt Alice, don't you need 300 thousand dollars for my cousin's engagement? That's nothing. I'll cover it.

"Aunt Lisa, Logan and I are thinking of getting a new car. We'll let my cousin practice with the old one. Even though it's an old one, we've only had it for two years.

"Ladies, I won't let you work for nothing. See these gold bricks? The harder you smash, the more gold bricks you'll get."

As she spoke, Scarlett gestured, and her friends lunged at my suitcase like they were on a caffeine high. They shoved and jostled each other to get to it.

Scarlett flashed me a triumphant grin.

"Bitch, open your eyes wide and watch how we destroy everything you worked so hard to get.

"Today, I'm going to make you regret ever trying to steal my man.

"Smash, and smash hard!"

The room was soon filled with the clattering of broken jewelry.

The sound of destruction echoed, with priceless items—watches, artwork, designer bags, high-end cosmetics—shattered and scattered like a battlefield.

My heart felt like it was bleeding, and my anger made my eyes bloodshot.

"Scarlett, you bunch of idiots, do you even know the value of these things?

"You could bankrupt yourselves and still not pay it all back!"

Scarlett only laughed coldly. "Look at you, acting like you could still buy these things once Logan is out of the picture.

"I'm smashing my own stuff. Why are you getting so worked up?

"But seeing you brought down a peg and in distress, I'm feeling a lot better."

Scarlett seemed to have found her sweet spot.

Her eyes scanned the wreckage, and then, with a smirk, she picked up a document folder from the debris.

I widened my eyes in panic, my voice trembling. "Scarlett, don't touch that folder. It contains crucial information.

"If I lose my job, it's one thing, but you'll be in for trouble you can't shake off."

Scarlett's eyes lit up with interest, and she exchanged knowing glances with her entourage.

Scarlett said, her voice dripping with mockery, "You're so anxious, huh?

"Well, I have to take a look then."

I shouted, "No, Scarlett, don't open it. You'll regret it if you do."

"Still trying to threaten me? Now I really want to see what's inside."

Carelessly, Scarlett ripped off the folder's seal. As she looked at the contents, her entourage's faces turned pale.

"What language is this? It looks like symbols. I don't recognize any of it."

"And there's a photo of someone. Look pretty fierce."

"This must be really important to this woman. How about we leak it online? Someone's bounds to recognize it."

"Yeah, Scarlett has thousands of followers. Surely, a kind-hearted online translator will help."

I struggled to shout out again.

"Scarlett! Don't post it. If you do, you'll really regret it."

Ignoring my pleas, Scarlett followed her friends' advice and took a photo of the document before posting it on a short video platform.

As her friends cheered and celebrated, I let out a small, victorious smirk.

These fools had no idea their arrogance had just set off a major disaster.

When they glanced over at me, I quickly put on a look of feigned panic.

"Look at her. Her face went completely pale."

"Ha! Serves her right for being a mistress. She's getting what she deserves."

"She said we'd get into trouble. Maybe she's the one worried about her own mess, not wanting Scarlett to post it."

Suddenly, Scarlett's eyes fell on a box on my nightstand.

"Oh, what's this? It's packed in such a fancy anti-collision box."

She picked it up and shook it vigorously.

My heart leaped into my throat.

Inside that box was the medication my mother needed to treat her ALS.

After I was Falsely Accused of Being A Mistress
