Chapter 1

On the third day of the business trip, I changed my profile photo of WhatsApp into a popular one.

My boyfriend suddenly sent me a message. "We’re out of condoms. Buy some when you come back."

Stunned, I subconsciously replied with a question mark.

However, he immediately withdrew the message and explained, "I was playing Truth or Dare. I lost just now. They asked me to send that."

I was skeptical and accidentally entered a direct broadcasting room at night.

She said, "My boyfriend encountered something very embarrassing today. He sent a message he planned to send to me to his sister and asked her to buy condoms for us."

Unfortunately, her boyfriend's account name and profile picture were exactly the same as my boyfriend's.

Then I heard the blogger talking about her love life with a smile.

My heart sank.

I had just experienced what she said this afternoon.

But I was the poor sister she mentioned.

I didn't want to associate these two things together.

However, the profile picture and online ID made me overthink.

My boyfriend named Carter Becker. I had helped him decide his profile picture and online name.

In the lower right corner of his profile picture, there was my special logo.

Unfortunately, the blogger only showed the picture for a few seconds. I couldn't enlarge it to check.

My mind was in a mess, and I couldn't listen to anything she said.

Right at this moment, Carter suddenly called.

I paused and answered the call.

His slightly panting voice came from the other end of the line.

"Vivi, are you asleep?"

His voice was mellow, which was particularly attractive.

Usually, when I heard this kind of voice, I would make fun of it.

But now, I was a little annoyed.

As soon as I heard his voice, I remembered what the blogger had just said.

"Vivi, why are you ignoring me?"

Seeing that I didn't speak, he muttered in grievance.

I ignored his question and asked, "What are you doing?"

He paused and said lightly, "I'm missing you. I'm looking forward to your return every day. When you're not at home, I’m so bored at home."

Just as he said this, the livestream channel became active.

The blogger who was sharing her love stories laughed out loud and said, "We women can't be stupid. Men's words are the most unreliable. Don’t believe them when they say they miss and love you."

When she said that, I heard it clearly in the video.

Even her voice sounded in my ear.

Now, my guess was confirmed.

My boyfriend has become someone else's boyfriend.

Carter didn't seem to notice this and was still smiling cheekily at me.

However, I was not in the mood at all.

Carter, do you really think I'm a fool?

When he sent a message to me in the afternoon, I noticed that something was wrong.

He was usually a shy person.

Even when we kissed, he was devout and careful.

Last time, someone spoke dirty words in front of me.

He was so angry that his eyes turned red. He fought desperately.

He said that I was his bottom line, and no one could touch it.

Why would he say such things to me just because of a game?

It turned out that a woman's sixth sense was really amazing.

The person who once said that he would love me forever began to treat me like a fool.

When I realized this, my eyes turned red, and a strong sense of unwillingness spread in my heart.

Carter and I had been neighbors since we were young.

Ever since he could walk, he had been following me.

The neighbors would always tease him when they saw us. "The bodyguard is out shopping with Isaac again."

At that time, he was eight years old, even shorter than me.

However, he straightened his neck and shouted at them, "What bodyguard? I'm protecting my future wife!"

In junior high school, we were young and ignorant.

I met a guy I was interested in. From time to time, I would observe him with my classmates.

Carter had learned of this.

He almost cried. He ran to the door of my house and cried, "Isaac Evans, you can only be mine in this life. You can't like anyone else."

I thought that his fondness was just out of habit.

He was used to my presence, so he didn't allow me to get close to others.

When I was in college, I had my first boyfriend.

When Carter, who was in his third year of high school, learned about this, he desperately bought a ticket and rushed to my school.

He was drenched in the rain that day, and his deep black eyes were full of hurt and unwillingness.

He looked at me, shivering.

The rain was mixed with tears.

He was as pitiful as an abandoned puppy.

He said, "Isaac, I’ll wait for you to break up with him. I will also be admitted to this university. At that time, can you like me?"

He spoke in a humble manner.

He behaved so lowly.

Thus, when we got together, he wished he could tell the whole world about this.

That was how he was.

However, before I knew it, he had changed and become a stinky man.

Chapter 2

Carter chatted with me for a while, but most of the time he was the one talking.

I was silent and occasionally responded.

He noticed that something was wrong with me and said cautiously, "Vivi, are you tired? Why don't you go to bed early? I won't disturb you anymore."

I forced myself to suppress the anger that was about to erupt and hummed in agreement.

"I love you, Vivi. I'll wait for you to come back."

In the past, when I heard him say that, I would only feel happy.

But now, I only felt disgusted.

I didn't want to talk to him anymore and hung up the phone directly.

At the same time, the blogger in the video showed a meaningful smile.

She said, "Guys, it's late at night. Our nightlife starts again. Let's call it a day."

The blogger finished speaking.

But the comments were full of envy.

[Your boyfriend really has a strong body. You two just slept in the afternoon and he came back in the evening. I don't know if you can hold on.]

[I'm willing to exchange ten pounds of fat for such a boyfriend!]

[I hope so. I envy you again.]

I looked at the comments, and my hands couldn't help trembling.

All of a sudden, the image of them being together flashed through my mind, and a wave of discomfort surged through me.

I quickly put down the tablet and rushed into the bathroom.

They really made me sick.

The business trip was originally scheduled for a week.

But I was eager to go back to see him.

So I raised the efficiency of the project.

I planned to end my business trip early and go back early to surprise Carter.

It only took me three days to finish all the work.

I came back early.

When I got home, Carter was not there.

The house was cleaned up.

No one could tell that someone had lived here recently.

However, the mango I had deliberately placed on the coffee table was rotten.

It seemed that he had been living a good life at someone else's place these days and didn't go home.

I took a deep breath and suppressed the urge to question him.

I wouldn’t just make trouble for him just like that.

It was too easy for him.

It was said that those who cheated on lovers had to swallow a thousand needles, and he was no exception.

The house we were living in now was a graduation gift from his parents when Carter graduated from college.

This place was very close to my workplace, so he coaxed me to move here.

At that time, he pulled me and said pitifully, "Vivi, if you stay far away from me, what should I do when I miss you? I've seen your photos for several years. It's not easy for us to be together. Can't you satisfy my wish?I want to see you every day."

My heart softened easily. Since he said so, I couldn't resist at all and agreed.

But now that I thought about it, I felt disgusted.

Could it be that he had also said these words to another woman?

There were too many memories of the past here.

The more I thought about the past, the more disgusted I felt.

I calmed down and contacted the real estate agent.

Just as I was discussing with the real estate agent when I should go see the house, Carter sent me another message.

This time, he directly reposted a video.

Before I could click on it, his message arrived.

"Vivi, the wedding dress is so beautiful. When you come back, let's go and have a look, okay? I'm looking forward to seeing you put on the wedding dress for me."

I read his message, but I didn't reply.

Instead, I clicked on the video he reposted.

Carter didn't usually like to watch short videos.

But now, when I clicked on his home page, I found that he had watched hundreds of videos.

Moreover, it was all posted by the same blogger.

I clicked on the account and saw that the other side was from the same place as me.

And the video Carter sent me was posted by her.

The video said, "When will the person I love bring me here?"

I collected myself and clicked on the comments section.

After browsing through thousands of comments, a comment came into view.

An unfamiliar account had tagged Carter.

Needless to say, I knew who this account belonged to.

Carter, I really don't know if I should call you stupid or naive.

He thought that I would not be so bored as to flip through the comments section.

So he just reposted it to me fearlessly.

I felt a chill in my heart.

I felt sad for the three years he had spent on me.

I didn't reply to his message, so Carter didn't give up. He continued, "Vivi, our parents already know about us. When are you going to marry me?"

"I've already passed the legal age of marriage. You can't fool me anymore."

When I saw this message, I suddenly remembered.

Carter had proposed to me several times in public and in secret, but I had always used his age as an excuse to gloss it over.

And he took it seriously.

But he didn't know that the reason why I didn't agree to his proposal was that I wanted him to be more mature.

Before this business trip, I thought about getting married.

I would agree if he proposed again after I come back from my business trip.

However, reality was often cruel.

People like him didn't deserve to be loved at all!

I thought about it again and finally understood.

I was very capable at work.

I could help him a lot at work.

Other than his so-called love, this was probably another reason for him to do so.

Chapter 3

I didn't reply to him.

He was anxious.

He began to call me.

I still didn't pick it up.

Even if I didn't see him in person, I could guess how anxious he was at this time.

But all of this was nothing compared to what he had done.

I didn't answer his calls or reply to his messages.

He still hadn't come back to our house.

After staying at home for two days, I went to meet the real estate agent.

The real estate agent I found this time is very reliable. The houses he showed me around were all to my liking.

After seeing several houses, I chose one to rent.

My new home was not far from the company, only a few minutes' drive.

As soon as I signed the agreement with the real estate agent, my mother suddenly called.

After answering the phone, I didn't have time to speak.

She said, "Vivi, what are you doing? Why didn't you answer Carter's call? He’s worried."

My mother's tone was full of complaints as she urged me to call back as soon as possible.

"Mom, I'm busy. I'll contact him when I'm free. Don't interfere."

"No matter how busy you are, you have to reply to him. But don't forget that your Uncle Leo is treating you to dinner this weekend. Be there on time. Don't be late."

Mr. and Mrs. Carter were very nice to me. They wanted me to be with Carter.

After knowing that we were really together, she treated me as their own daughter.

They looked forward to our marriage more than Carter did.

To put it bluntly, this treat was to urge us to get married.

But it was completely impossible for me to be with Carter.

I had to make it clear to them.

I thought about it and agreed.

Carter came back on the day I packed my luggage and was about to move.

He was stunned when he saw me.

He quickly put down his things and pounced on me.

"Vivi, you're finally back. I missed you so much."

As he approached, I smelled a faint perfume that I never used.

I furrowed my eyebrows and pushed him away.

The skin that he had touched seemed to have been burned by fire.

I couldn’t stand it anymore.

Carter looked at me with a sad expression. "Vivi, what's wrong? Why did you push me away?"

Because you're disgusting! You're even more disgusting than a cockroach in the sewage!

I roared in my heart.

However, my face was calm.

"Where did you come from? Why do you smell so bad."

He was stunned and his face turned pale. He lowered his head and sniffed.

Then he stammered, "I just went to a party with my friends. They brought their girlfriends with them. I must have accidentally touched them."

How intimate he must be for his body to be covered with the scent of a woman's perfume.

I suppressed my disgust and said, "It's too smelly, just like the mud in the sewers."

Carter's expression froze and he didn't know what to do. "Then I'll go take a shower right now. It won't stink after I wash it clean."

He walked to the bathroom in a panic.

I looked at his back and said lightly, "It's dirty. No matter how you wash it, it's alreay dirty."

He stopped in his tracks and almost lost his balance.

He looked back at me and almost couldn't keep the smile on her face.

"Vivi, what's wrong with you today?"

His smile was stiff and he looked like he was about to cry.

Guilty people like him couldn't stand being indirectly insulted.

"Carter, you're not young anymore, why can't you understand my words?"

I was so indifferent that it made him feel terrified.

He panicked and quickly walked over to me, asking anxiously, "Vivi, did someone tell you something?"

I looked into his eyes and said calmly, "Do you know a popular female blogger recently? Her name is Mia Holmes."

As soon as I finished speaking, his face turned pale.

He looked around and I didn't dare to look into my eyes.

"I don't know. I don't know her. Vivi, don't listen to her nonsense."

When he lied, his ears would turn red.

He didn't even notice that.

I stared at his red ears and said coldly, "We've known each other for so many years. You should know that I hate deception the most."

"Carter, if you lie to me, you’ll go to hell."
