Chapter 3

Dad stopped and looked back in confusion.

Levin excitedly pointed at the computer screen, "Look, this figure is exactly the same as Jennifer."

In the video, I was wearing a loose robe, with a round hat covering my figure, and a white mask covering my face tightly.

Uncle Levin has been quite familiar with me over the years. He recognized my back at a glance.

Dad glanced disdainfully and sneered, "Enough, Levin. You still want to use this method to make me care about Jennifer. I'm currently handling a case, and you need to be responsible for your actions in this outfit."

"If this jinx Jennifer really dies, remember to notify me as soon as possible. I will definitely celebrate."

Ignoring Levin's dark face, Dad turned and left.

Levin was already very confident that the deceased was me, but there was still a lack of evidence.

In this matter, only by throwing evidence in my dad's face would my dad be convinced.

As soon as my dad walked out of the police station, he was stopped by Grandma who was waiting at the door.

Before Grandma could speak, my dad roared fiercely.

"I've told you, don't play this childish game with this jinx anymore."

"If she wants to die, she can die at the edge of the universe. Don't bother me!"

Grandma's eyes turned red instantly, and she angrily walked up and slapped my dad.

"How did I give birth to such an ungrateful beast like you?"

My dad wiped his face and stared angrily at Grandma.

"How could I have such an unreasonable mother like you? You have gone completely crazy for that jinx."

Grandma had to leave with a look of despair after a big argument with him.

Looking at Grandma's hunched figure, I really wanted to follow her. But my soul couldn't obey and could only be taken away at the moment Dad left.

Perhaps my obsession was too deep, and my soul could only revolve around Dad.

There was a sharp pain in my chest, like being pricked by a needle.

Dad, I have never lied to you.

Dad went to buy the bag that Emilia liked the most, hurriedly rushed home, and at the moment the door opened, a wave of food fragrance floated in the house.

Mom was serving the dishes.

Emilia heard the movement and walked out of the kitchen with a spatula in her hand.

"Dad, you're finally back."

Dad was a little surprised, "Why are you cooking in the kitchen by yourself? Let your mom do it."

Emilia shyly lowered her head and said, "I know you have been working very hard these days. I made your favorite dish and I hope you like it." After speaking, she showed a smile, seeking praise.

Dad smiled and touched her head.

"Emilia is the best-behaved child!"

Mom also kept praising Emilia.

This warm scene made my eyes feel a sting.

The affection that should have belonged to me had been taken away by Emilia.

Just like that night eight years ago, I was the one who got hurt.

Emilia tore apart my stuffed toys and angrily roared at me.

"Why is it that your parents often buy you toys, but no one buys them for me?"

Uncle and aunt didn't have diplomas and could only rely on odd jobs to make a living. The conditions were indeed not very good.

My parents often told me to understand the situation of my uncle. I often gave her some small toys and had always been very accommodating to her.

But this did not make Emilia grateful. Instead, she felt that I insulted her by giving her toys that I had played with.

I was so angry that I cried and wanted to run home overnight.

Uncle and aunt passed away, and Emilia became an orphan.

I felt sorry for her and felt sorry for her experience, so I had always been accommodating to her.

But as long as it was something I liked, she wanted to take it away.

She accused me of stealing things at home and caused me to be punished.

She knew that I had good grades, so she deliberately put cheat sheets in my pencil case and then accused me of cheating.

The homework I stayed up late to finish was hidden and thrown away by her.

I could overlook these small things.

But I absolutely couldn't accept it, she started cursing my parents to death.

So I started fighting with her directly at home.

She cursed my parents to die early. I was blinded by anger.

"It serves you right that your parents are dead."

The moment I said it, I regretted it a little.

I wanted to apologize, but Emilia cried and ran to report me.

She swore to make me lose my parents like her.

After that, she became even more relentless in framing me.

Now she had finally done it, my parents had become her parents.

Chapter 4

Emilia said she cooked for Dad herself.

There were four dishes on the dining table, except for the dark green vegetables made by her, the rest of the dishes were made by mom.

Dad knew clearly that Emilia couldn't cook at all.

But even so, he was still very happy.

Unlike me, even if I cooked for Dad every day, I wouldn't get a compliment.

Since being neglected by my family, I have tried my best to make dad and mom happy.

I wanted them to know that I love them very much.

When Emilia didn't come, Dad and Mom all comforted me every day.

Two years ago, it was mom's birthday.

I especially learned several dishes that Grandma often made for Mom.

I waited in the living room until late and finally waited for them three to come back from going out to play.

I couldn't wait to uncover the covered dishes and present the sumptuous meals in front of them. I humbly spoke, with a hint of pleading in my voice.

"Happy birthday, Mom."

Mom just smiled awkwardly.

But Dad's face immediately turned black when he saw the dishes.

She went crazy and rushed forward, knocking over my dishes, and yelling at me like a mad person.

"You did it on purpose, didn't you? These are all dishes that your uncle likes."

"You knew it was your mom's birthday today. You knew your uncle was gone, and you still reminded me and tortured me in this way."

"You jinx, you should be the one who dies."

"Get out of here, don't appear in front of me again."

Mom just silently watched without saying anything.

Until now, when I thought of the scene that day, my soul still trembled with fear.

I was too young at that time; I wanted my parents to be happy and accept me again.

But I really didn't understand. It was a kind of harm to Dad.

Now that I'm really dead, Mom and Dad must be very happy to know!

Dinner hadn't started yet. Mom had been looking at Dad hesitantly.

I knew Mom wanted to ask me how I was, but she didn't dare to say it.

Dad just snorted coldly, and Mom fell completely silent.

After dinner, Emilia sat happily in the middle of Mom and Dad watching TV.

Suddenly, Emilia asked, "Dad, have you not been in touch with Jennifer recently?"

Dad's smiling face suddenly turned dark, with a clear look of disgust in his eyes.

"Don't talk to me about her."

After hearing this, Emilia couldn't help but show joy in her eyes.

"Okay, Dad, I won't mention it anymore. Don't be angry."

She must be very proud now. She finally killed me.

From now on, my parents were all hers.

Dad's phone rang.

After answering the call, Levin's impatient voice came from the other end of the line.

"Kaleb, the hotel manager has confirmed the photo. The person who checked in at the hotel is Jennifer."

Dad immediately roared, "How old is she? How dare she go to a hotel."

"She is still playing hide and seek with me until now, making you all run around."

"Levin, why do you still want to find her, this kind of jinx? Letting her die outside would be considered eliminating harm for the people."

He roared angrily, expressing his dissatisfaction.

After a while, Levin finally found an opportunity to speak.

"Kaleb, the room that Jennifer opened is the room where the murder happened."

The words that Dad had just prepared to say were directly held back, and he shut up directly.

It seemed that he remembered something. Soon, he regained his composure.

"Levin, I didn't expect that as a criminal police officer, you could still lie at such a critical moment?"

"You don't have a daughter. Since childhood, you treated Jennifer as your daughter. Is she worth you doing this?"

Dad's obsession with his younger brother was too deep. He was always immersed in his own world.

As long as it was something related to me, his rationality as a criminal police officer would disappear, becoming completely unreasonable, and his IQ would approach zero.

Levin was extremely angry and instantly raised his voice, almost shouting out his words, "Kaleb, I now officially order you to come to the Criminal Investigation Detachment to cooperate with the investigation of the dismemberment case."
