Chapter 4
I returned home in a daze and returned the money my parents gave me intact.
My mother looked at the money in surprise and asked me, "Didn't you say you were going to buy a ring for Marla? But why did you return it now?"
I looked at my mother, forced out a smile that was sadder than crying, and then told her the whole truth.
"Mom, even if I love her so much, I can't save her and her father."
After a long time, her weak voice came, "Zac, let me do this bad thing. If Marla hates someone in the future, let her hate me."
I looked at her in shock, firmly disagreed with her doing this, but she insisted on going. She even took my key, locked the front door of the house, and went to the hospital alone.
Before leaving, she also took away the couple ring between me and Marla.
When she arrived at the ward, Marla had just regained consciousness.
Mom walked over with a fierce expression and said coldly, "Marla, you are really a jinx. It's bad enough that your dad has uremia, and now you have heart problems."
"No, Auntie, my father has already received donations from some kind-hearted people for his illness. My own illness is not a big deal." she pleaded in a low voice.
Marla's eyes were filled with shock. She just woke up and knew that she had myocardial disease. But when she heard my mother, who had always treated her as her own daughter, said such words to her, tears couldn't stop flowing from her eyes.
My mother sarcastically laughed and said, "My son is destined to be rich and successful. It's because you have studied good temper, and your father doesn't seem to have much time to live, otherwise why would I agree your dating him? Now you are also a burden, aren't we all burdens in this family?'
Marla got up from the sickbed crying and knelt on the ground, saying, "Auntie, please, I won't bring trouble again to you, please..."
A hint of struggle appeared on my mother's face as she clenched her fists tightly, and then continued to put on a cold and ruthless look.
"Marla, stop daydreaming. You are just now blocking my son from getting rich, and now I even want to beg you to give my son a way out."
After saying that, my mother immediately turned around and left, but tears welled up in her eyes in that instant.
That night, Marla sneaked out of the hospital because she still didn't believe what my mother said.
The script was designed by Dion, and for Marla, these were all the details which were unnecessary.
When she pushed open the door, I was tightly embracing the Levin family's daughter and kissing passionately, filling the room with subtle and ambiguous sounds.
When I looked up, I looked at Marla with a blaming look, "What are you doing here?"
There was surprise, sadness, and disbelief on her face as she struggled to speak, "Why, Zac, this can't be true, right?"
Before I could answer, Stacy Levin, who was sitting in my arms, said with a triumphant tone, "Marla Hawk, how dare you ask? Your family has so many problems, while we're so wealthy and don't have so many issues in my family. Everyone who's wise enough knows that Zac will choose me."
"No, Zac, you are not like this." Marla still refused to believe.
I looked at this beloved girl in front of me and knew that I had to be cruel in order to save her.
So, I tried to make my gaze look fierce, "How could I not be like this? You, a jinx who only brings trouble, what if you cause problems for my parents in the future? Do I have to play an adult game with you here for you to believe completely?'
I pulled Stacy closer to me, looked at her with a superior expression and said, "For Stacy, it's different for me. Since she is the only daughter in her family, as long as I marry her, everything in the Li family will be mine."
Chapter 5
In that moment, deep despair filled Marla's eyes.
I held Stacy's waist and walked out. Because I was afraid that if I looked at her longer, I would not be able to resist telling her that everything was fake, that it was all just a play.
But when I turned around, Marla was tightly holding onto my pants.
"Zac, I won't drag you down, and I can't be without you. Didn't you say before that we would face difficulties together?"
I interrupted her and said in a cold voice, "Marla, do you really think I would love you? If it's not because of your pretty look, I wouldn't be interested in you."
"Also, don't you feel it yourself that is there any difference between you now and a dog?"
I blurted out all the cruel words I could think of.
Marla was trembling all over.
"Marla, do you really like being my dog so much? Will you do whatever I tell you to do?"
On Marla's desperate face, it seemed that she saw the hope and instantly her eyes glittered.
But the words I said afterwards shattered all her hope.
"Kneel in front of us and lick clean Stacy's high heels that had just been dirtied."
There was a trace of stubbornness on Marla's face.
I shouted in my heart, "Please don't."
But it only lasted for a few seconds before Marla was still stubborn stubbornness, and she knelt down directly.
While I was racking my brains to figure out how to stop her from taking the next step, Marla's mother appeared.
She pulled Marla up from the ground, slapped her, and questioned her, "Marla Hawk, what are you doing?'
Marla looked guilty, quickly straightened up, and asked, "Mom, why are you here?"
Marla's mother was so angry that she couldn't catch her breath, "If I didn't come, how would I know that my daughter with my much efforts is being treated like a dog! Come now, go home with me."
She held Marla's hand, wanting to take her away.
But Marla seemed to be stuck on her feet, standing still and refusing to move.
Her mother angrily said, "If you don't come back with me, I will pretend that I never had a daughter like you."
After finishing speaking, she walked straight out, but when he reached the intersection, she was hit and killed by a fatigued truck driver.
Marla rushed out, holding her blood-covered mother, crying heartbreakingly.
And Dion appeared by her side at this moment, like a savior.
He squatted down and hugged Marla, using the gentlest voice to say, "Sorry, I'm late, Marla Hawk."
Chapter 6
"Marla, have you forgotten that this old woman can no longer see anything?"
Dion's voice pulled me out of my memories.
If he hadn't said it, I would have forgotten that my mother were blinded by him too.
New and old grievances surged up in this moment, and I wished I could turn into a vengeful ghost and swallow him.
I rushed forward and shouted at him, "It's all because of you, you killed Marla's mother and turned my home into this."
But no matter what I was saying now, it's all like bullshit, or even worse than bullshit.
Marla smiled at him and said, "Dion, how could I forget? But doesn't she still have one eye?'
Dion laughed and personally removed my mother's blindfold.
When my mother saw Dion, who was almost naked and had blood stains on his lower body, a look of despair appeared on her face.
"Auntie, is it worth it to turn your family into this for Zac? It's better to be good and tell me. Otherwise, you may not be able to bear the consequences." Marla squatted in front of my mother and spoke with a gentle tone, saying the most vicious words.
"Marla, my family owes you, but your uncle has already given his life for it. Isn't that enough?"
She grabbed my mother's hair and lifted her face. "Well, how could it be enough? It was him who told my mother about my whereabouts back then, otherwise how could my mother die? My mother has been dead for so many years, and the interest is more than just a little when I only appeared now."
Although I couldn't feel pain in my soul, I still now felt a suffocating pain in my chest.
So that was how Dion talked to Marla. No wonder she hated our family so much.
Marla stood up and looked down at my mother. "Now you still refuse to be convinced until you're faced with grim reality." She called in a few big men who had just left and pointed at my mother.
Then she sat on the sofa behind and prepared to watch the show.
I knelt directly in front of Marla and knocked my head heavily several times, "Marla, please let them go, because it's all my fault, please!"
When Victor heard my mother's scream, he got up and rushed over, "Marla, I'm going to kill you."
Halfway, Dion kicked me to the ground.
Victor seemed crazy, laughing up to the sky, "My brother, did you see that? This is the woman you loved for a lifetime."
When that group of big men went out, my mother was thrown on the ground like a rag.
"Come on, isn't your son enjoying a life of luxury? His mother and brother have been treated like this by me, but why hasn't he shown up?' Marla sarcastically said.
I desperately said to her, "I'm here, I'm here. Please spare my family. Please, don't torture my family."
When Marla walked towards my mother with a glass of wine, Victor suddenly shouted loudly "What a crazy woman, Marla Hawk, my brother has already died, he died seven years ago, and now your heart is from my brother."
