Chapter 1

On the day of Olivia Riley’s engagement, a video of her being kidnapped and abused suddenly played on the big screen in the banquet hall.

Her fiancé immediately called off the engagement. As her world crumbled, her childhood friend, Noah Carter, stepped forward and proposed to her in front of everyone.

Moved by his gesture, she accepted.

Yet, six months after their wedding, she still chose to end her life, by poisoning herself, taking two lives with her.

After reading the diary she left behind, my parents rushed to bring me home from the psychiatric hospital that very night.

My mother, weeping uncontrollably, begged me to avenge my sister.

My father sealed off all information and placed her body in a freezer in the basement.

It wasn’t until I read her diary myself that I learned the truth.

The reason behind her abduction and humiliation was none other than her husband, Noah.

The child in her womb… wasn’t hers at all.

It was an embryo created from Noah and his former lover, Ava Turner.

What my sister had believed to be redemption was nothing more than a well-crafted lie.

Tears burned in my eyes as I clutched her diary.

He dared to destroy my sister like this?

Then I would make them pay, with their lives.

——

In the dimly lit living room, Mom clutched her chest and sobbed,

“Other than this diary, we have no evidence to bring that beast Noah to justice. My poor Olivia… why were you so impulsive…”

Dad’s eyes were red as he hurled an ashtray across the room.

“This is all my fault. I was the one who agreed to the Carter Family’s arranged marriage. I ruined my daughter’s life…”

As they spoke through broken sobs, the full truth finally became clear to me.

Five years ago, my father had arranged for my sister to marry Noah’s older brother, Jack Carter.

But Olivia, who had loved Noah since childhood, couldn’t accept the news.

She jumped into a river to take her own life.

Noah saved her and promised that he would never let his older brother marry my sister.

So, he devised a vicious plan.

He arranged for someone to kidnap and humiliate my sister, then released the footage on the day of her engagement.

As the heir to the Carter Family, Jack could never marry a woman with such a stain on her reputation.

And so, just as planned, he refused to marry her.

In the end, Olivia got what she wanted, she married Noah.

To prevent future complications, Noah publicly proposed to my sister, putting on a perfect act.

But after their marriage, she lived a life of quiet suffering.

Still, every time she visited our parents, she forced a smile to reassure them.

Earlier today, she came home in a daze.

The moment she saw Mom, she broke down in her arms, sobbing.

Then, that night, she wrote her final diary entry and took her own life.

When I opened the diary, the final page contained her last words, written just before the poison took effect.

Today, I overheard a conversation between Noah and his assistant.

That video from six months ago, the kidnapping, the abuse… it was all his doing.

He did it for Ava.

Even the child in my womb… it’s not mine. It’s the embryo of him and Ava.

Why he is so cruel to me…?

I rushed to confront him, but he just laughed and said I must’ve heard wrong.

I cried and told him I wanted to abort the child and divorce him.

He threatened me, said if I dared to abort it, he would tell everyone I was carrying the child of a kidnapper.

That I was divorcing him to hide my shame.

He said, ‘Olivia, stop being so stubborn. Besides me, who else would take you?

You don’t want to ruin your reputation and drag your family down, do you?

Your parents only have two daughters. Your sister is already mentally ill and useless.

If you ruin yourself too, what will they do?’

He threatened her, warned that if she spoke out, he would destroy our family.

Her words were stained with tears… raw, hopeless, broken.

I’m sorry, Mom and Dad. I don’t want to drag you down. But I’m so miserable… I’m sorry…

I ran my fingers over the tear-soaked page, trembling with rage.

I wanted to kill someone.

When she was just ten years old, my sister was beaten by a class bully.

He chopped off her long hair, bruised her entire body and broke her right hand.

Chapter 2

The doctor had said that even if her hand healed, she would struggle to hold chopsticks.

But the other family had a powerful background.

In the end, they were merely given a verbal warning and ordered to pay compensation.

That night, I pried open the window and slipped out.

By the time my parents received the police report and rushed to the scene, the class bully was already lying dead at the front door.

I was covered in blood, nearly beaten to death by the bully’s family.

When I saw my parents arrive, I smiled and said, “He dared to hit my sister, so he died.”

They said I had bipolar disorder and sent me to a psychiatric hospital.

Over the next ten years, my sister visited me regularly.

She brought pastries and little gifts and she would sit and share the colorful stories of her life with me.

Most of the time, I couldn’t understand her happiness. But through the iron bars, she would hold my hand and say, “I’m happy just holding hands with my sister. You are too, right?”

Half a year ago, she visited me for the last time.

She looked worn out but forced a smile and said she was getting married, her fiancé would protect her the way I always had.

But I didn’t know then that he was the one who had hurt her the most.

He was the one who pushed her to her death.

“Dad, Mom,” I said quietly. “From today onward, I am Olivia.”

If anyone dared to hurt my sister, I would kill them all.

Mom dressed me in my sister’s clothes and tied my hair into the same low ponytail she always wore.

She even stuffed a small pillow under my shirt.

When she looked at me, she broke down in tears again.

At that moment, I must have looked exactly like my sister.

The doorbell rang.

It was Noah.

When he saw the expressions on my parents’ faces, a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.

“Honey, why didn’t you answer my call? I came to pick you up.”

He smiled and wrapped his arm around my waist, clearly testing the waters.

“Dad, Mom. I was too busy yesterday and forgot to take Olivia to her prenatal checkup. She got angry and ran home.”

My father forced a smile and waved a hand.

“Hmm, I’ve already scolded her. Tell her not to throw tantrums.”

My mother, eyes red from crying, added,

“Noah, pregnancy is very hard on women. You need to be more considerate of her…”

Noah breathed a sigh of relief.

“Dad, Mom, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Olivia.”

After a few more polite talk exchanges, he impatiently pulled me toward the door.

Mom hurried out behind us and clutched my hand, her gaze filled with a thousand unspoken words.

“Olivia, take care of yourself.”

I patted her hand and nodded.

Then I got into Noah’s car without looking back.

As soon as the car started moving, the smile vanished from his face.

“You’re smart not to tell your parents about this. Olivia, as long as you stay by my side and give birth to this child, I’ll keep my promise to protect you for life.”

“Otherwise, I don’t mind destroying you and the Riley Family. Understand?”

I said nothing. I simply raised my hand and gently stroked my stomach, lips curving into a silent smile.

Noah glanced at me, sighed and reached out to hold my hand.

“Olivia, forget about today, okay? I’ll make it up to you for the rest of my life. I promise.”

“Let’s have our own child next time and maybe two more, okay?”

I began to tremble, biting my lips to hold back any sound.

“It’s my fault. If you want to cry, go ahead, sweetheart.”

His voice grew softer, almost a whisper.

“As long as you give birth to my child with Ava and fulfill my final wish, I will cherish you for the rest of my life.”

My trembling worsened.

‘Noah, you probably won’t get that chance.’

Just as I was about to draw the dagger and end everything, his phone rang.

He answered the call, frowned and suddenly jerked the steering wheel, speeding off in the opposite direction.

Chapter 3

“Ava, don’t cry! I’ll come and save you!”

He charged like a madman to the door of a bar.

I followed him inside and saw a pure-looking woman being dragged into a private room by several drunks.

Noah’s eyes flared with rage. He grabbed a wine bottle and rushed forward.

The bar manager recognized him and immediately ordered his staff to pull the drunks away.

The leader of the group, a burly man with a dark face, was struck by Noah and forced to kneel on the ground, sobering up quickly.

He pointed at me, standing behind Noah and pleaded for mercy.

“It was all her idea! Miss Olivia, you didn’t tell us this girl had a special status...”

The drunken men all turned to me, begging for help.

Ava threw herself into Noah’s arms.

“Noah, I’m so scared... Did Olivia ask them to teach me a lesson?”

“Olivia, I know. Ever since Jack’s accident, you’ve been afraid I’d take Noah away from you.”

“So, you wanted to find these people to ruin me, right?”

Slap!

Before I could speak, Noah slapped me hard across the face.

“Olivia, I never thought you could be so vicious!

You’ve dirtied yourself, so now you want to drag Ava down with you? Since that’s the case, you’d better take the punishment from these men for her!”

I stood there, stunned. Noah was even more of a lunatic than I was.

“Didn’t you just say you wanted me to give birth to this child properly?”

“You don’t deserve it!”

Leaving those words behind, he waved his hand and shoved me and the drunken men into the private room together.

As the door locked behind us, the leader’s face twisted into something sinister.

“Miss Olivia, do you remember us?”

“Half a year ago, we had a day and night of fun… Tonight, we’ll make sure you have a good time again…”

I suddenly understood, these were the same men who had kidnapped and abused my sister.

Ava had found them to recreate the scene, intending to hurt her again.

Looking at the various props on the table, I smiled in satisfaction.

How wonderful.

Line up and I’ll take you one by one.

The dark-faced man lit a cigarette and blew smoke into my face.

“I’ve never played with a pregnant woman before. This must feel amazing!”

I snatched the cigarette and pressed it hard against his right eye.

“Ah!” The stench of burning flesh filled the air.

As he screamed, I kicked him hard in the groin.

The dark-faced thug instantly curled up on the ground like a martial artist, writhing in pain.

“You dare to fight back, you bitch! I’ll beat you to death!”

The second man picked up the spiked whip from the table and swung it at me.

I caught it, wrapped it around his neck several times and yanked hard.

He let out a blood-curdling scream, clutching the torn flesh on his neck before collapsing.

“Damn it, this woman has strength! Let’s take her down together!”

The third man grabbed me from behind and the fourth kicked me in the stomach.

When his foot made contact with my belly, he hesitated.

I gave him a wicked smile, grabbed his leg and drove my elbow into it.

Crack. He howled in pain, clutching his broken limb.

I reached back, seized the hair of the man behind me and threw him over my shoulder.

Then I pounced, striking him left and right, each punch landing squarely on his face.

Ten minutes later, the men were bound and gagged, smelly socks stuffed into their mouths.

I looked over my handiwork with satisfaction and flexed my aching fists.

It had been over a decade since I’d gotten to beat someone like that.

The last time was when I took down that school bully.

He’d mocked me, saying I was too weak to fight.

He hadn’t known I was born with freakish strength, three punches and he was dead.

Even in the mental hospital, I never slacked off.
