Chapter 2

Tara was good at distorting the truth, and she even reached out and hit the girl who was my savior.

I got off the bed in a panic to stop her.

Then, Tara became even angrier. "I was puzzled as to why you didn't celebrate Valentine's Day with me yesterday. I didn't realize you had an affair. Gavin, don't you feel sorry?"

The girl covered the half of her face that was swollen from being hit by Tara. And the girl explained angrily, "I saved him. How could you frame me without knowing the fact? I..."

"She's my wife. I'm sorry." I felt really guilty. The girl said she didn't expect to save such an ungrateful person like me.

After the girl ran out, Tara still didn't believe it and said that it was a conspiracy.

I didn't explain anymore. She thought everyone was like her, who was so eager to have an affair with another person to seek excitement and warmth outside of marriage.

"Love bento, right? You cannot eat it!"

Tara snatched my lunch box away, but I soon saw the brand-name bag placed aside.

Tara immediately picked up the bag. The bag was very expensive, and she had liked it for a long time.

"It's not bad of you to remember to give me a gift to compensate me." Tara took the bag in her hand and didn't put it down, but soon she saw bloodstain on the scarf.

Tara failed to wipe it off. "Why are there much bloodstain? It's really bad luck. This is a good bag."

"It's my blood."

My voice was very soft, but my body was covered with wounds. Tara had been here for a long time, but she had never cared about me.

Only then did Tara notice the wounds all over my body. She stood there awkwardly, perhaps feeling a little guilty.

"Was it really an accident? I thought you were lying to me. You used to be jealous of Eric."

Tara said that whenever she mentioned Eric, I always quarreled with her.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Tara said, "I'm sorry, Gavin."

"Are you painful?"

"No."

I had become an invulnerable man. No matter how much pain I felt in my body, it was much less than that I felt in my heart.

Tara didn't know what to say to me, so we just sat there. Her phone rang, and then she said she was going to buy me some favorite food.

"Okay."

I leaned back on the bed and rethought our marriage.

Chapter 3

That day, Tara didn't buy food for me.

Instead, I saw the photo of the love bento made by Tara on Eric's Facebook.

Eric was allergic, so he specially wrote: Only your childhood sweetheart knew your diet, and the childhood sweetheart was the best!

I laughed out of anger. It seemed like Tara had forgotten about me, who was her husband and was in the hospital, but I didn't bother to call her.

The police investigation progressed quickly, but the surveillance camera didn't capture the driver's face, so they could only track down the car that had caused the accident.

I didn't expect that Tara would find me with Eric. She held a divorce agreement. "Sign it now. You're a womanizer, and you should get divorced with getting nothing!"

I looked at Tara in confusion. There was a hickey on her collarbone, and she didn't even try to cover it, but she said that I had an affair with someone else and should get divorced without getting anything.

"Get divorced, Gavin. I believed you were rushing out for me, but you was actually rushing out to meet your mistress. You had a car accident when you were dating, but you want me to take the blame."

"Gavin, we all know about it. Admit it. All men make mistakes." Eric spoke for Tara and said that I was wrong.

I didn't need to go through Ameri when I came back from Heibi, but the girl who saved me was from Ameri.

What's more, Eric showed Tara a video. So, Tara was even more certain that I had an affair.

"You two are really good at distorting the truth. The police are already investigating. I impossibly admit something I didn't do."

How ridiculous! Tara had been my goddess, but now she was a crazy woman.

She picked up a pillow beside her and hit and scolded me. She cried, "Gavin, you said you would love me forever, but you had an affair in such a short time."

She also said, "Gavin, you're so dirty."

My wound was torn by Tara's pulling, and the pain brought me back to some sanity.

"We're getting a divorce, but it's you instead of me who will get nothing."

Chapter 4

Tara and I had an unequal relationship at the beginning. Others all said that I was too flattering, but I was happy to do it because I loved Tara since the first time I met her in college.

I was willing to be flattering, and I was happy every time I saw her.

At first, Tara didn't agree to my pursuit.

One time, she was blocked by a group of people in an alley, and I happened to pass by and save her. Then, Tara said that she didn't expect that I was a kind-hearted man.

"There aren't many people who are brave enough to help others. Gavin, you are such a good man."

I didn't want Tara just to praise me. She got very close to me and said, "I hear that you have good grades."

At that moment, I was so shy that my ears turned red. From that day on, I was often with Tara under the pretext of tutoring her.

I really enjoyed the ambiguity and gradually got used to it. We went to concerts and traveled together, and Tara finally was my girlfriend.

We then got married. In order to be with her, I refused the company's assignment and stayed in Heibi.

After this accident, I realized that I would never be better than Eric for Tara.

...

For Eric's instigation, Tara posted photos of me and the girl on Facebook. And she posted I had a date with my mistress in the car, and then I had a car accident. This post sparked heated discussions.

Many people scolded me and shouted to beat the mistress!

They said that I deserved it and that I and the shameless mistress should be killed.

They also said that I was a man who just focused on the sex, and I could do anything for excitement.

They even didn't blur the girl's photos and photoshopped her photos into black and white.

I had warned Tara many times that there was no need to involve innocent people.

But Tara ignored my warning and said this was the price I paid for cheating on her.

Someone even came to the hospital to find me. I called the police and informed Tara to delete the post and give a clarification.

Finally, Tara sneered. "Well, if you sign the divorce agreement and get divorced with getting nothing, I'll let you go. Otherwise, just wait to be cyberbullied."

Tara said that I was really disgusting now, and I didn't even pretend to protect the mistress.

"I've explained it so many times. I came back to celebrate Valentine's Day with you. I even called you after the accident."

"Eric has inquired into it. Don't continue quibbling, Gavin."

"You're really disgusting!"

Did she really believe Eric's words?

This online violence wasn't over yet. When I prepared to apologize to the girl and tell her that I had called the police, I saw a group of people swarming there.

They made trouble at the funeral, smashed the flowers, and even threw down the portrait of the deceased.

I stepped forward to stop the troublers, but Tara told me not to waste my energy.

"This is a live broadcast. Gavin, let everyone see how you protect the mistress and direct at me."

Tara put her hands on her waist and led a group of women to beat the girl. The girl knelt, crying and begging them not to destroy the funeral.

She looked at me with sadness and said she was regretful.

"I shouldn't have saved you. Couldn't you let the funeral go on?"

"Sorry." I apologized to the girl and felt really guilty. I knew she shouldn't be involved.

Just when everything was in chaos, the policemen came in, but Tara's expression didn't change.

"Don't move, and squat down." A policeman came in with a serious look. "Mr. Brown, the investigation is finished. The car accident is serious. The driver is suspected of deliberate murder. Please cooperate with us."
