Chapter 3

Yorick didn't say anything, and I couldn't see his expression in the dim light.

It was not until Luis approached that Yorick lowered his voice and said, "Yolanda, I will pretend that I heard nothing. You'd better not have that idea anymore."

Luis sat down and excitedly handed me his trophy.

Yorick snorted coldly, "Bumpkin."

I smiled and said, "He is still young."

Young people always had reckless impulses and fearless courage.

Ten years ago, when I first met Yorick, I was a college freshman.

He had just entered the entertainment industry and was looking for the heroine for a new movie.

He went to various film and drama schools and finally found me who was visiting my friends there.

I became an actor in this way and signed with the agency behind him.

He brought me into the industry step by step, and I watched him as he gradually became the best actor.

I gradually admired and loved him.

At the celebration party, he got drunk and fell into my arms.

He held my hand tightly and said "Don't go" and "I love you".

After we slept together, he sat in front of the bed, smoking in silence.

I felt sad and thought he regretted it.

"Yorick, just pretend it never happened."

He turned around with a cigarette in his hand and stared into my eyes. "Yora, you like me, right?"

I was stunned. Lowering my eyes, I nodded.

He put out his cigarette and said, "Let's be together."

When he proposed to me, he looked at me devoutly as if he wanted to see through my soul.

I felt happiness overflowing my heart, and I didn't know how to describe it.

At that time, he was already successful and famous, but I was still an unknown actor.

My relatives and friends were not optimistic about our relationship, but I still stayed with him out of love.

For the sake of his career, he said he wouldn't make our relationship public for the time being.

As a result, we kept our marriage a secret for seven years.

Young and inexperienced people would always be blinded by their emotions.

I was obsessed with the affectionate look in his eyes when he looked at me, but I ignored the hidden attachment and longing in it.

I thought that the art film he starred in was for our love story.

But later, I found out that he wrote this script to commemorate his beloved girl.

He worked so hard to find the heroine just to express his longing for her.

He even trained me to be her substitute.

People always said that Yorick was a playboy, but in fact, he was loyal to someone.

But that person was not me.

When I used his phone to check the weather, I found that he had pinned a foreign city.

That was where Sharon was.

I smiled bitterly. Yorick was indeed infatuated with her.

He had loved her for ten years.

Chapter 4

"I'll go back home tonight. Let's talk then." Yorick said in a deep voice with some annoyance.

He hadn't returned to our home for a long time since Sharon came back.

But he didn't know that I hadn't been back these days.

I would go back to pack some things today.

I turned around and said to Luis in a gentle voice, "Luis, I have something to do tonight, so I won't come to you."

His originally happy face immediately turned gloomy, even a little aggrieved.

"Yora, tonight is my first time winning an award. Won't you come to celebrate with me?"

He talked as if I was an unfaithful person.

Just as I was about to change my mind, Yorick said coldly, "Don't call her Yora. You hooked up with a married woman. You are so shameless!"

Luis immediately became angry.

"Are you qualified to be her husband?

"Where were you when she was hospitalized for injuries while hanging on wires during filming?

"You were being photographed by paparazzi in a hotel with a female star, right?"

Yorick shouted angrily, "You!"

I chuckled and said, "You remembered it wrong. He was not in a hotel."

The leaked hotel photos of Yorick and Shirley Wilson happened before that.

When I was injured, Yorick was busy with something more important.

I wanted a divorce, but he regretted it.

When I was filming "First Dream", I accidentally fell from the air. Fortunately, there were protective measures below, so I only broke my leg.

At that time, Luis ran towards me quickly. He didn't dare to touch me casually and could only hold my hand gently.

"Yolanda, pinch me if it hurts. Don't bear it. The ambulance will be here soon.

"I'm sorry. I should have asked them to check the wire again."

His energetic face was distorted with pain.

I thought he was stupid. It seemed like he was the one who was injured.

The crew called my emergency contact.

They called three or four times before the phone was finally connected.

The phone was put on speaker, and I could hear Yorick's slightly nervous voice on the other end.

I thought he was worried about me.

But later I found out that he was at the airport to pick up Sharon.

To him, nothing could be more important than that.

"Yolanda is injured? Is it serious?

"I have something to do here. If it's not serious, I won't go over.

"That's all. Contact me when she's discharged from the hospital."

The call was hung up, and the busy tone mocked me mercilessly.

At that time, Luis looked gloomy. "Is he the husband you married for seven years?

"Yolanda, he's not worth it."

Now, Luis looked at Yorick and said word by word, "You are not worthy to be her husband."

I patted Luis and comforted him, "Don't be angry. I'll go deal with some things after this is over, and I'll find you later."

Yorick was trembling all over. "Yolanda, I'm the one who's angry!"

I couldn't understand him.

His lover had returned and the substitute would leave on her own initiative. Why was he angry?

"Yorick, Luis is right. There is no need to maintain our marriage anymore.

"Besides, the person you love has returned.

"Let's keep our dignity."
