Chapter 2
Jasper was busier than me. He was the boss of the company.
I had more free time than him. I often sent him messages, and I could send him several messages when I saw a cute puppy on the side of the road.
I would take a picture of my food and send it to him at noon every day.
Seeing through our chat history, the green screen was filled with messages from me. Occasionally, he would reply, "Mm."
"Got it."
The latest message was that I took a B-ray report for him yesterday. "Jasper, we will have a baby."
Jasper only received a cold reply, "Got it."
I hadn't turned on the lights for him for several nights, nor had I sent him any messages.
I thought that Jasper would be relieved. When he just started his business, I used to pester him. I was afraid that he would be too tired from staying up late, so I bought a lot of late-night snacks to go to the company and shared the food with his staff.
The colleagues in the company were always curious about their boss's love life. When a strange young girl suddenly appeared, they surrounded me and asked me about my relationship with Jasper. They asked me if I was his girlfriend.
There was a smile on my face, and I felt that there were pink bubbles on my head.
Jasper interrupted us. "She's not my girlfriend."
Jasper sighed helplessly and pulled me back. "Can you not be so childish?"
"Do you have to let others know about our relationship."
"Daisy, you're an adult. You should have your own things to do. Don't focus on me."
I felt a little wronged. He said on the phone that he was a little tired, so I braved the heavy snow to go to more than a dozen shops to buy desserts, but he told me that they were childish.
At that time, I just wanted to make him happy. That's all.
It was the same thing, bringing him late-night snack, but when it was Malory's turn, his gazes became gentle.
I can't get blown by the wind or caught in the rain during my one-month leave from pregnancy. At home, I can only watch TV series or browse my Instagram.
Seeing that there was a photo of Jasper in the new post in Instagram, I immediately clicked on it. After being with him for so long, his profile picture had always been simple. He severely posts anything in his Instagram.
His first post of Instagram was a photo of the employees of his company, with each of them holding a cup of milk tea.
Then, Malory sent a comment, "Jasper, is the milk tea I made delicious."
Jasper replied, "It's delicious. Thank you."
On the first day we got our marriage certificate, I tiptoed and gently kissed Jasper, asking, "Can you post an official announcement on your Instagram for our relationship."
Jasper refused me without hesitation. "Daisy, you know that I don't be interested in those things."
My friend said that one of us was like a little sun, and the other was like ice.
I updated my Instagram every few days, but Jasper never liked.
Malory would occasionally update her Instagram, and every one of them was liked by Jasper.
On New Year's Eve, Malory and I posted on our Instagram at the same time. I sat next to Jasper and watched him ignored my post and give Malory's post a like.
I grabbed his phone and asked, "Why didn't you give me a like? Why did you give a like to Malory instead?"
Jasper was taller than me. He stretched out his long arm and easily took back his phone. "Everyone knows that she is like my sister, but no one knows about our relationship."
I casually gave him a like and then continued to read the post in Instagram. I couldn't care less about these things anymore. If it were in the past, I would definitely pester Jasper to post an Instagram for me.
After the likes, Jasper immediately sent me a message.
Jasper: "I'm working overtime today. I'll be back later."
"Got it," I replied…
Jasper sent me another message. "It's not just me and Malory. Everyone in the company is coming tonight."
I didn't reply. I didn't ask or care.
Chapter 3
The next morning, Jasper suddenly asked me, "Did the doctor say anything?"
I looked at him strangely and asked. "What?"
His gaze fell on my lower abdomen. "The baby."
I understood what he meant.
"Tell me when you will have an examination and I will go with you."
After staying at home for so long, hadn't he found anything unusual? I smiled and said, "No need."
"The child is gone."
Jasper grabbed my hand and frowned. "Daisy, what did you say? Say it again."
I looked at Jasper indifferently and said, "I said that the child was gone."
With a crisp sound of glass, Jasper put the coffee cup heavily on the table.
Before Jasper left, he glanced at me coldly. Then, he grabbed his jacket and left.
Looking at his behavior, I sneered. What was he angry about? Didn't he ask me to do it myself.
When we got married, Jasper would always take precautions against pregnancy. I wanted a child, so he told me, "Daisy, you're so young. You'll regret being a mother so early."
Jasper had never wanted to have a child, so I should be happy to abort the baby. It was just that I didn't tell him, which made him angry.
Finally, I had cured from the surgery, my colleague asked me to go to a nearby bar to have a rest.
The colleague gave me a list and I roughly read it over. "Don't refuse yet. Go back and think about it."
Under the dazzling light of the bar, Jasper was outstanding for he had handsome facial features. Standing in the crowd, he was tall and straight, and Malory was next to him.
There were many people. When someone walked over, Jasper subconsciously held Malory in his arms.
They looked like a couple.
The man was handsome, and the woman was flamboyant and beautiful.
I got home earlier than Jasper. In the evening, I received a call from an unknown number.
The other end of the line was noisy, accompanied by deafening music.
"Hello, are you Jasper Torres's wife?"
I frowned because no one knew about our relationship except a few people. It was just that Jasper didn't want me to tell them.
So when the other party asked this, I couldn't help frowning. I wanted to agree at first, but then I remembered that Jasper had once told me angrily, "Daisy, we are secretly married. Don't talk about our relationship everywhere."
I thought about it and replied, "I'm not."
"Ah, okay. Jasper Torres is drunk."
I didn't continue to care about it, because there were many colleagues around Jasper, including Malory.
Everyone in the company knew that Malory was Jasper's younger sister with no biological relation.
It was the first time Jasper had brought me to the company. Someone started to kick up a fuss. "Mr. Torres, is that your wife?"
I smiled and nodded. But Jasper said with a cold expression, "No, don't take jokes. It affects a girl to find a boyfriend."
My smiling expression froze in an instant.
Just now, Jasper had shown up with Malory. His subordinates were making a fuss, and he said, "She's just my childhood sweetheart and sister."
The subordinate, who was not afraid of getting into big trouble, added, "Your dear sister, Mr. Torres."
But Jasper didn't explain.
Late at night, the rustling sound in the room woke me up. Jasper's face was slightly red, his suit tie had been pulled off, and a few of his buttons had been undone. He looked extremely sexy.
Jasper pushed the door open forcefully and turned on the light.
I narrowed my eyes and looked at Jasper impatiently. "Jasper, it's late. Can you be quiet?"
Jasper looked at me and said. "I'm drunk."
"Oh," I replied.
Then I lay back on the bed and covered myself with the quilt, ready to go back to sleep.
Jasper deliberately made a sound to make me impatient. I had been on leave for so long and had to go back to work tomorrow.
"Daisy, someone just called you. Why did you say that you are not my wife?"
I closed my eyes and replied impatiently, "Didn't you say it was a hidden marriage?"
"Can you turn off the light now?"
Perhaps it was because my voice was too loud, but this was the first time I had answered him in such a furious manner.
He was probably stunned.
I covered my head with the quilt and asked, "Can you turn off the lights now?"
After a while, the lights in the bedroom was turned off, and Jasper did not come in again.
Chapter 4
I've been officially working since my vacation. I've stayed at home for too long, and the air outside is particularly fresh.
When I got up in the morning, Jasper returned home after exercising as usual.
Jasper and I looked at each other, and neither of us spoke and did our own things silently.
Jasper had already washed up, and the breakfast he had just bought was on the table, including porridge and eggs.
I liked soy milk and donut for breakfast. Every time Jasper saw me eat these, he would frown and say, "Daisy, it's unhealthy to eat donut."
I used to think that Jasper finally cared about me, so I threw away all donut in front of him. After that, I had never eaten donuts again.
For the sake of Jasper, I had been forced to change my living habits.
I like durian. Jasper likes oranges, but he doesn't like peeling oranges.
Jasper thought that there were too many white lines on the orange vein, so I put on disposable gloves and cleaned them up.
The juice from the orange peel seeped into my nails, which made my nails slightly yellow.
But when I ate the durian, Jasper would only say, "It stinks. Don't buy it in the future."
I had never eaten durian again.
I had always been the one to accommodate him.
Just as the atmosphere was gloomy, Jasper said, "I'll send you to work."
Jasper had always been like this. He could do whatever he wanted, and his tone was firm. However, I didn't intend to refuse. It was the morning rush hour, so I couldn't take a taxi. Besides, I could not be late for the morning meeting today. The best way was to ask Jasper to send me.
Besides, we are husband and wife. It's normal for him to drive his wife to work.
Jasper's car was clean and tidy without any extra items. There was a faint wooden fragrance in the car.
He drove fast on the road.
The car drove quickly into the next corner, leaving only a dozen minutes' drive to my university. I turned to look at Jasper and said, "Don't drive the car to the university gate later..."
Jasper glanced at me in confusion and asked. "Why?"
"There are many people at the university gate."
The phone of the car suddenly rang, and the name of Malory flashed on the screen. Without any pause, Jasper answered. "Malory."
Malory said anxiously, "Jasper, come here hurriedly."
There was a sobbing tone in her voice as she said, "My tires burst and I am on the highway. I don't know what to do."
After hanging up the phone, Jasper looked at me.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Daisy, you get off now."
"Malory is in trouble. I'm going there now."
Malory always liked to play this trick, and Jasper was always willing to play with her.
She could call for help when the tires burst, or a doctor when she was sick.
No matter what happened, Malory had to find him for help.
I smiled and didn't object. I pushed the door open and said, "Okay, see you tonight."
"I have something to tell you. Go home early in the evening."
