Chapter 1
My Revenge Plan in My Second Life
I was reborn.
In my previous incarnation, I was the concubine of Charles Luker, the Earl, the heir to the Duke.
Charles had a girl in his dreams who had been tantalizing him.
Because of his dream girl's dislike for me, I was abandoned to a tormenting life with Charles' subordinates like a toy.
Eventually, under her instructions, I was tortured to death.
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself alive again and returned to the day when I became Charles' concubine.
This time, I would send both Charles and his dream girl to hell.

On the day I died, it was snowing heavily in the capital.
It was the coldest time in winter, but I was left with only a terribly ragged undershirt, which was so stained with blood that I couldn't even see its original color.
I was covered with whip wounds, the tendons in my arms and legs all cut, and half of my tongue clipped out of my mouth.
I wanted to cry out, but I could only mumble.
Elizabeth Swallow stood before me and lifted my chin with her delicate shoe, clicking her tongue in disgust while looking at me, whose eyes were already swollen.
She snapped with heavy sarcasm, "Who can still recognize this is the beautiful and charming Lady Simons? Look at how hideous you look now. You can even give me nightmares."
She turned her toe and trampled on my face heavily.
"You don't know yet, do you? You are already three months pregnant."
The fact that I was pregnant with a child stunned me.
With bloodshot eyes and acute pain in my chest, I uncontrollably spat out a gush of bright red blood, which streamed down my cheek into the mud, instantly filling the air with the pungent smell of blood.
I was eager to reach out and touch my belly, but I was too powerless to do it.
At the sight of the scarlet lines in my eyes, Elizabeth giggled.
"Your child is so lucky that he has managed to stay with you even after being tortured like this. But he'll die along with his mother very soon.
"Your child will accompany you on your way to the underworld.
"How do a cheap woman like you deserve to bear Charlie's child?"
My heart overflowed with overwhelming hatred.
I had never hated someone so much and never yearned to kill someone so much.
I hated these hypocritical dignitaries, this unfair hierarchical world, and my own powerlessness even more.
I was so powerless that I could neither save myself nor my child.
I let out a hoarse and horrifying howl with all my strength.
Elizabeth took a step back in fright but was incensed when she saw that I still had the strength to resist.
"Anyone! Send Lady Simons on her way to hell!"
I closed my eyes with a smile on my lips.
Charles Luker, Elizabeth Swallow, if I had an afterlife...
When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the first day I was accepted into the Duke's Manor as Charles' concubine.
Chapter 2
"The Earl is a little drunk. Lady Simons, please take care of him tonight."
Charles was already hammered when he was brought to my room.
I had known since my previous life that he was extremely reluctant to take me as his concubine.
At this time, he was so obsessed with Elizabeth that he would make every attempt to please her.
However, Elizabeth had been wandering among him and other men, tantalizing him.
Charles was the Earl and also the heir to the Duke. Though he was born with good looks and a powerful family, he was possessed by frenzied affection for Elizabeth.
I sat on the luxurious bed, staring at the man sleeping soundly beside me.
If he woke up at this moment, he would see the intense resentment in my eyes.
But now, he was still murmuring Elizabeth's name in his sleep with his eyes closed and his cheeks flushed with alcohol.
What a devoted man he seemed. But it was a pity that he acted it to the wrong woman.
I uttered a cold laugh and slapped Charles on the face, but he seemed not to notice and just turned over and continued to sleep.
The timing of my rebirth was perfect.
This morning, my gambler father had just sold me to the Duke's Manor at the "high price" of 50 silver coins.
The Duchess wanted Charles to marry her niece and had rejected his repeated requests for his marriage to Elizabeth. Furthermore, the Duchess was disappointed at Charles' indulgence in beauty, so she chose me and sent me to Charles' bed.
Soon after, I would be handed over to Charles' subordinates at Elizabeth's request and eventually tortured to death at her instruction.
At this point, Charles had just met Elizabeth and was deeply bewitched by her.
I looked at myself in the bronze mirror.
My looks were the reason for the Duchess' decision to choose me.
I looked undoubtedly stunning with my lustrous dark hair, rosy lips, white teeth, and fair skin as delicate as the finest porcelain.
Despite my extraordinary appearance, I was born and raised in a lowly family, so my beauty only brought me trouble and made me a pawn in the power game between the Duchess and her son Charles.
However, if I could use my beauty wisely, it could also be my good weapon, which would become even more lethal after being strengthened by hatred.
I was allowed the chance to live again, but the despair I had been through at my last gasp in my previous life was still vivid in my mind.
In my previous incarnation, I was so blind and meek that I had ended up putting myself at the mercy of others. But this time...
I made up my mind when I reached out and snuffed out the flickering candle flame.
Chapter 3
The next morning, when Charles sobered up and saw me beside him, he was as livid as he used to be in his previous life.
He grabbed my arm and dragged me off the bed.
My existence seemed to be a reminder that he was too weak to even decide on his own whether to have a concubine.
I fell to the ground, tears welling up in my eyes as I looked up at Charles.
He was caught off guard the instant my eyes met his.
Even though he had met countless women, he was still dazzled by my appearance at his first sight of it.
But I knew he couldn't allow himself to be bewitched by me, for he considered himself wholeheartedly faithful and devoted to Elizabeth.
He came back to his senses.
Then, he raised his voice and questioned me with heavy hostility, "How dare you lowly maid sleep on the same bed with me?"
My eyes turned misty, my long and thick eyelashes slightly fluttering as I gently tugged at the hem of his clothes and begged for mercy with a meek and appealing look.
The light shining in through the window made me look even more vulnerable.
Men would always pity women instinctively, and so would Charles, who claimed that he would be loyal to Elizabeth until death.
His tone and face noticeably softened as he talked to me again.
"As a concubine, you must behave yourself from now on. When I marry my future countess, I will find you a good place to go. As for my love for you, don't even think about it."
With that, he turned around and left.
I let out a snorting laugh, slowly stood up, and looked out of the window without any expression.
"Charles Luker, I can't wait to see how much the love you speak of you have."
Out in the courtyard, fallen leaves flew along with the wind.
A storm was coming.
