Chapter 1

Today was the wedding day of me and Steven.

During the toast, as soon as Steven and I approached, we heard someone say,

"Look, even Steven is married. How can you, as a girl, not be in a hurry? Women are different from men. Once you get too old for marriage, you will regret it for sure."

"That's right. It's better for women to marry a nice husband than to have a successful career. You just graduated, and it's the best age for blind dates."

I frowned inwardly and noticed that my husband's cousin was at a loss because of being pressured to get married.

"Your coat looks really nice,"

I walked up to her and changed the subject with a smile,

"You have such good taste. Next time we go shopping, can you help me pick something out?"

When she saw me, it was as if she had seen a savior.

"Riley, if you like it, I'll send you the link right away."

I smiled and nodded.

Steven, who has a handsome appearance, hugged my waist, full of confidence and happiness,

"As long as you like, buy them all."

When hearing his words, Tina, my sister-in-law looked at us teasingly.

"Alright Steven. I know you love your wife the most. It's really annoying that you always show affection in front of us. So despicable."

"Haha, my little brother married a wife and gave a dowry of 150 thousand. Tina, I remember you married me without any dowry. I'm really jealous of him."

When hearing the sarcastic teasing from Spencer, Steven's big brother,

the people at the wedding banquet had a frozen smile on their faces.

Yes, the dowry given by the William family to me was150 thousand.

And the dowry given to me by my family was a commercial shop in the downtown area, with an annual rent of nearly 160 thousand.

I didn't think I took advantage of them.

However, it was obvious that Spencer felt himself the most disadvantaged.

When he got married, his parents didn't give him anything except for a house.

Now, when his younger brother got married, he got both dowry and a car.

So, Spencer earnestly advises his cousin,

"In the future, when looking for a husband, remember to choose an honest man like Steven. It costs thousands of dollars to get married, and the in-laws still can't make it to the wedding."

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole hall fell silent.

Not only did Tina's face turn red and green, but Steven's parents also had an unpleasant expression.

I remained calm and explained again without getting annoyed,

"Sorry, Mr. William and Mrs. William. My parents are on a business trip abroad. It's not that they don't want to come, but they really can't make it back. I apologize to you on their behalf once again."

Actually, my parents would be able to return to the country next week.

The William family had invited a psychic and determined that the banquet must be held today.

"Okay, not a big deal."

Karen, Steven's mother smiled lovingly.

"Riley, you are already our daughter-in-law. Just call us by our names."

I was a bit shy, so I lowered my head. Steven spoke for me.

"Mom, we just got married. You need to give Riley some time to adjust."

"You spent 150 thousand as the bride-rice, and she still needs time to adapt?"

After Spencer finished speaking, and seeing me put on a cold face, Steven's mother reluctantly glanced at him.

"Shut up! You got yourself a "good" wife for free, but for so many years, you haven't given me and your dad a grandchild."

After saying that, my mother-in-law, Karen smiled at me with a face full of joy.

"Riley, you and Steven have to work harder. You are still young and can definitely have a healthy child as soon as possible."

The relatives around me echoed one after another.

But I looked at Steven with confusion.

He was infertile, and I wanted to live child-free.

"Children? Never think about it."

Steven looked embarrassed and was about to pull me out to say something.

His older brother Spencer angered me again,

"Steven, don't give your wife so much freedom. Nowadays, women think they can do everything they want and don't consider the future."

I pushed Steven away and smiled at everyone at present,

"You don't have to worry about me. I never planned to have children."

"What?"

"Mrs. William and Mr. William, I am a DINK."

Chapter 2

Except for the female cousin, everyone looked at me as if I were a monster.

"Oh my god! How can a woman live without children?"

"What contribution can a woman without children make to this society?"

The discussions among the relatives of the William family really embarrassed Steven's parents.

Spencer looked disdainful.

"You've gone crazy after watching too many short videos. What do you think Steven marries you for?"

"Spencer! Don't be so rude to Riley!"

After Steven shouted this, there was silence.

Seeing his embarrassed expression, I couldn't help but sneer.

Sure enough, he was never a reliable one.

At this moment, I would no longer have any tolerance for his big brother,

"Spencer, you are mistaken. I am married to Steven, not married into your family."

In order to make me understood, I kindly explained to them,

"The dowry is equal to the my dowry. After marriage, Steven and I will establish our own household. Even on the festivals, we will each go back to our own families. Whether to have children or not, it's entirely up to me. Moreover, even if we really have children, they won't be take William as their surname!"

After all, Steven's impotence was real and incurable.

If it weren't for this, I wouldn't have married him.

"Mom, did you hear that? This slut wants to cuckold my brother! Mom? Are you okay?"

Steven's mother's face turned pale, clutching her chest, about to faint.

The William family rushed forward. Midst the chaos, Steven's eldest brother blamed me for causing his mother's illness and even wanted to attack me.

However, my friends were all protective of me.

As soon as I mentioned living child-free, they put down their chopsticks and gathered around.

One of them was 5.9 foot and worked out all year round.

She stretched out her left hand, before Spencer had a chance to touch me, she picked him up and threw him to the corner of the table, with his four legs in the air, crying in pain.

Except for Steven, who was over 5.9 foot, the other men in the William family were at most 5.6 foot.

Seeing Spencer being so humiliated, they all stared at me with round eyes, full of hatred, but no one dared to approach me again.

Steven felt humiliated. He clenched his fist and said coldly to me for the first time,

"Riley, I always listen to you no matter what you wanna do, but you should never lay a hand on my family."

I rolled my eyes.

I didn't start it first.

Without waiting for me to retort, my friends laughed heartily.

"You loser, if it weren't for you pretending to be so obedient and decent, would Riley even look at you?"

"Back then, you said in front of us that you would protect Riley for a lifetime. But I didn't expect it to be so short. You have to pay for the price for what you've done."

My friends were better at teaching him a lesson than me.

Feeling warm inside, I took off my high heels and prepared to take them to the next door for a big meal.

I was really starving.

I had to fill my stomach first, and then I'd have the energy to deal with this mess.

As I was about to leave, Frank, Steven's father, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke,

"Steven, apologize to Riley."

The other family members were all shocked, and Steven's mother Karen spoke in a stuttering manner out of anger,

"Honey, why should Steven apologize to her?"

Frank looked at me coldly.

"On such a joyous day, you shouldn't put too much pressure on Riley. Whether she has children or not, she is a good daughter-in-law in our family."

He seemed to speak for me.

However, the next sentence revealed his true intentions.

"Riley, actually Steven has already told me about your health condition. With the advancement of medical technology, as long as you are willing to receive the treatment, you can definitely have children."

I looked at Steven, saw him avoiding my eye contact, and then understood everything.

Clearly, it was his physical problem, but for the sake of his pride, he was willing to lie.

Spencer burst into laughter.

"So it turns out you are infertile."

The relatives looked at me with disgust and mockery.

I knew that even if I told the truth at this point, they wouldn't believe it.

I didn't want to argue with them anymore, so I signaled to my friends to stop quarreling.

Things had come to this point, and I had seen through that Steven was not a good person.

That was enough.

"Steven, meet me at the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce at 3 tomorrow afternoon."

After finishing the meal, I went to KTV with my friends again.

At first, everyone was still not completely relaxed, afraid that I was hurt but pretended to be cool.

Later, they realized that I really wasn't that sad, so they started teasing me one by one and pouring me drinks.

Just when I was feeling dizzy, and my cheeks were flushed,

a pair of black sports shoes appeared before my eyes.
