Chapter 4
Wanda wrapped herself in a bath towel and left the bathroom. Without a word and without giving Jazzy any chance, she went straight to the bedroom and locked the door.
When Jazzy reached the bedroom and found that the door once open only for him was locked, he truly panicked. This was the first time Jazzy felt cowardly in this breakup.
"Wanda, open the door, why do you want to lock the door? Before, no matter how angry you were with me, you never locked the door."
"Wanda, open the door, let me in, I’m willing to explain to you..."
Listening to the constant knocking outside the door.
Wanda thought her heart would not waver, but at this moment, she suddenly felt so sour and bitter. She leaned weakly against the door and every knock seemed to hit her heart.
Until late at night.
Jazzy cried and pleaded, never giving up, "Wanda, what do you want me to do to make you forgive me? As long as you say it, I’ll do it!"
In this relationship, Jazzy had never compromised so much, never begged for forgiveness so humbly. In the past 998 breakups, it was Wanda who stood outside the door.
Many times, even if the breakup was because of Jazzy’s fault, as long as Jazzy apologized a little, Wanda would soften, choose to forgive, couldn’t wait to open the door and throw herself into Jazzy’s arms.
But now, the two had swapped positions.
Still, Wanda was unwilling to open the door.
Until the next morning.
There was no sound outside. Wanda thought Jazzy had left.
But when she came downstairs, she saw Jazzy, who had never cooked, making breakfast in the kitchen in a panicked yet funny way.
The eggs were all burnt by him. There were several red spots on his arms. His fingers were also wrapped with bandages from cutting vegetables. His hair was messy and he looked miserable…
Jazzy saw Wanda standing at the kitchen door and he quickly tried to tidy up his miserable look, "Wanda, don’t look at me, I’m so embarrassed now, you know I’ve never cooked, but your chef isn’t here, I was worried you’d be hungry this morning..."
He spoke gentle and considerate words, his tone no longer like the frivolous, impetuous man before.
This reminded Wanda of the 172nd breakup. On her way to Jazzy’s house, she was lost in thought and didn’t notice the road, then was knocked down by a child on a bicycle.
Although she told Jazzy it was just minor injuries. But when Jazzy knew, he immediately abandoned the billion-dollar project he was negotiating and rushed to the hospital without hesitation.
He clearly used to love her so much... But why could he love another person deeply at the same time...
Wanda felt as if a fishbone was stuck in her throat, the pain sharp and said with difficulty, "I’m sorry, I was just very tired yesterday and wanted to be alone, you don’t have to embarrass yourself like this..."
"I should be the one saying sorry."
Jazzy walked to Wanda with a trembling voice and hugged her tightly, "It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have ignored your feelings. From now on, I’ll treat you twice as well, never break up easily and never make you so tired and sad again."
Never break up again?
Wanda looked at Jazzy in her arms, smiled bitterly and recalled the conversation between Jazzy and his friend in her mind.
"You and Wanda have broken up for the 999th time. You once agreed that if you are still together after the 1000th breakup, you’ll get married."
Chapter 5
"There will not be a 1000th breakup. From now on, I will cherish her and treat her twice as well. I will never give her the chance to break up for the 1000th time."
That was right. Just as he told his friends, he would never give the 1000th chance to break up. He wanted to keep two people by his side.
Wanda never doubted Jazzy’s love for her. But she couldn’t accept that her boyfriend had two lovers at the same time...
In the evening.
Jazzy leaned on the sofa and asked cheerfully, "Wanda, do you remember what day it is the day after tomorrow?"
"Of course I remember." Wanda gazed out the window.
The day after tomorrow would mark the anniversary of their 1999th day of love. Jazzy had mentioned this day countless times.
Of course, Wanda had also been looking forward to it. In the cabinet of the study, there was a pair of Star Love diamond rings that Wanda bought at a high-end auction abroad for 2000 dollars.
Originally, Wanda planned to wear them with Jazzy on the anniversary day. And now, she was about to leave the man she had loved for 1,997 days.
Jazzy smiled mysteriously, "The day after tomorrow, you have to prepare well. I will give you a huge surprise."
Wanda nodded slightly, "Okay."
She shouldn’t have expected it, but there was a slight ripple in her heart. She also understood that after loving for 1,997 days, how could she say she didn’t love him anymore.
The anniversary came soon.
Early in the morning, Jazzy mysteriously covered Wanda’s eyes and drove her to witness the surprise. Along the way, Jazzy didn’t allow Wanda to remove the blindfold.
"Today will definitely make you unforgettable...
"You don’t know, for today, I have been preparing for a long time and spent so much effort..."
"You must be looking forward to it..."
Wanda listened to Jazzy talking non-stop.
But she wasn’t particularly eager for Jazzy’s surprise and instead asked, "If one day, you don’t love me anymore..."
"No!"
As if touched on his reverse scale. Jazzy braked suddenly and stopped the car in the middle of the road.
He removed Wanda’s blindfold and stared at her seriously, "Wanda, never think like that. I will always love you and I will never let you leave my side!"
He was so serious, so solemn. So much so that Wanda was momentarily stunned.
If she hadn’t overheard Jazzy’s conversation with his friend, she would have been moved.
But Wanda didn’t expose him, "I was just speaking casually. I believe you, don’t be so serious."
Jazzy complained with dissatisfaction, "Don’t make such jokes again, you almost scared me to death."
They arrived at the scene of the surprise.
Jazzy helped Wanda remove the blindfold.
In front of her was the Sea Lake Manor.
To celebrate the 1,999th day of love, Jazzy spent a fortune to book the entire Sea Lake Manor and had it lavishly decorated in advance.
The moment the blindfold was taken off, countless balloons and white doves soared into the sky around them.
The guests who had already arrived clapped their hands in celebration, "How romantic."
"I’m so envious."
"Jazzy spoils his girlfriend too much. To honor this day, he booked the entire Sea Lake Manor. It’s said he spent tens of millions just for the decorations."
"Not only that, every guest who came to congratulate, as long as they brought their lovers, will receive a pair of jade bracelets symbolizing a happy marriage."
"I heard that Jazzy chartered a plane to bring the Royal Orchestra from Paris to perform for Wanda."
"Wouldn't it cost hundreds of millions?"
"I'm so envious. If my boyfriend could do this to me, I'd be willing to break my legs."
Amidst the envy, Jazzy took Wanda's hand and came to the center of the venue.
The Royal Symphony began to play at that moment, a soft tune of I Do.
As Jazzy finished singing the song, under the romantic atmosphere, the crowd around couldn’t help but start chanting in unison, "Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her..."
Under the weight of everyone’s expectant gaze, Jazzy walked toward Wanda.
Just when everyone thought the two were about to embrace and kiss and Wanda closed her eyes, a sudden cry shattered the harmony,
"Husband, you... why are you here?"
