Chapter 2

Maeva, who was always told to work in her new family's house, was like a stupid woman who didn't know anything. Never mind watching the news on television about her parents' plane crash, Maeva had to steal time just to rest.

After Calief arrives, there is a moment when Maeva cries in front of Calief and asks to see her mother's corpse, Calief just says that her mother cannot be found.

Maeva thought Calief couldn't do anything either. Both her parents were in a plane crash in the middle of the ocean, what could they do? The team that was supposed to find them didn't come up with anything either.

Now Maeva suspected that her parents hadn't really been in a plane crash. But based on Calief's conversation with the doctor, her mother is dead.

Maeva's heart was completely broken by Calief.

"I want to go home!" Maeva cried with such a cold voice.

Calief furrowed his brow. Perhaps because she was too shocked, Maeva pretended not to know that her uterus had been removed. This was evident in her uncharacteristic tone.

Just to talk to Calief, Maeva adjusted her tone to make Calief feel comfortable with her. Maeva never shouted at Calief. Aside from yelling, Maeva never spoke coldly and harshly.

Maeva never asked Calief for anything. But Calief often bought her useful things like books, a more comfortable mattress, and many other things.

Calief never gave Maeva luxury items because he didn't want the things he gave Maeva to be taken by other family members.

That alone was enough to make Maeva happy.

Maeva's clothes are always worn out. It's a far cry from what Reyka wears. What about jewelry? Maeva doesn't even have any, while Reyka changes into fancy jewelry every day.

Calief's presence was not enough. Maeva was so afraid that Calief would feel uncomfortable around her that she treaded carefully.

Whatever Maeva did for Calief.

"Yes, dear, I understand. But you just had an operation. How can you go home right away? We should at least wait for you to recover. I don't want anything to happen to you, and you just take it easy, I'll always be by your side," Calief whispered softly.

It didn't work on Maeva's heart anymore. Maeva still showed no reaction. Even when Calief kissed her forehead, Maeva didn't move.

Suddenly the door opened and some members of her family entered. Maeva's eyes fell on Reyka.

Maeva remembered Calief talking to Reyka sometimes. They both showed warm, bright smiles.

Reyka called Calief Calief's brother and Calief called Reyka Kitten. Maeva thought their family relationship was so close that there was no problem with the nicknames, but it turned out that it was because they were romantically involved.

Reyka's position in the family was the same as Maeva's. The difference was that Maeva came with her mother, while Reyka came with her father.

When Reyka came to the house, Calief was there, and Calief fell in love with Reyka right away. It was love at first sight.

In the end Reyka got engaged to Kilian. But Reyka still likes to approach Calief.

Maeva realized it now. She is nothing more than an object that can be discarded at any time when she no longer serves Calief.

Maeva once told Calief that Reyka liked to torture her more than others. Instead of warning Reyka, Calief told Maeva to forget about Reyka's actions because now the girl would not torture her anymore.

Maeva should have realized that from that moment on, but she thought that Calief just felt bad about warning Reyka because of their family relationship.

When she saw Calief, Reyka's face immediately became so happy. Reyka approached Calief excitedly and hugged him. The other family members were happy to see their closeness.

Calief was about to return Reyka's hug before he noticed Maeva's gaze. But Calief also had a heavy heart to reprimand Reyka's attitude, which was so sweet in his eyes.

"Maeva, sometimes Reyka does not understand the situation. But look, she brought you something. Kitten is good," Calief praised while he stroked Reyka's hair.

Calief had never done anything like this with Maeva. Maeva often felt jealous, but she tried to understand Calief and Reyka's relationship as family. She also learned to accept Reyka as her own sister.

Maeva now notices the big difference in the attention Calief pays to her and Reyka. Calief likes to buy luxury items for Reyka, but he always makes excuses for her.

Reyka looks so happy when Calief doesn't stop rubbing her hair.

Reyka looked at Maeva with an unhappy expression, although her lips were smiling. Maeva always thought that Reyka's smile was so sincere, but now she realized that Reyka never changed her hate for her.

"I heard from Brother Calief that you can't have children, but don't worry, Maeva. After I get married and have children, I will tell him to call you Mom."

Chapter 3

"Wow Reyka, you're so nice."

"Our Reyka is really amazing!"

"My kitty!"

Calief ruffled Reyka's hair again.

"Brother Calief, stop messing up my hair!"

The people around them laughed happily. They were concentrating only on Reyka and Calief, they didn't notice Maeva at all.

They came to see Maeva, but it seemed like they didn't really want to.

Maeva noticed Calief's look at Reyka. It was clearly a look of love. Calief had never looked at her like that before. Come to think of it, several times Calief couldn't accompany her because he was busy working outside the city.

While Reyka was busy studying outside the city.

Maeva, who always tried to entertain herself by doing a lot of housework so as not to drown in loneliness due to Calief's absence, never thought of anything.

At that moment, Maeva happened to notice the servants laughing at her. Maeva thought that since Calief wasn't around at the time, everyone in the house was still insulting her.

Until Maeva overheard the waitress in the kitchen talking about Reyka's college, which was in the same area as where Calief worked and where they often met.

Maeva was so stupid that she never thought about it. She always came to the conclusion that it was natural for them to meet, after all, they were family.

Besides, Maeva heard from Calief himself that Reyka had been his friend since childhood and that they were very close.

This closeness became romantic behind Maeva's back. All this time Maeva was lied to.

Maeva doesn't like apples.

Reyka brought apples.

Only apples.

Calief knew Maeva didn't like apples.

"Looks like Calief never told you that I don't like apples?" asked Maeva in a cold tone.

Reyka's face changed immediately.

Maeva had been very kind to Reyka before.

How could Maeva be so bold as to speak to her in such a tone?

Calief was also surprised. Maeva couldn't just call him by his name. Usually Maeva would call her honey or my love. But he understood immediately that his future fiancée was in a bad mood.

"Maeva, don't be like that! You should thank Reyka for bringing you an apple. You see? If they don't visit you, who will? They'll be your family after you marry me, too," Calief said.

"I'll never be your wife," Maeva snapped in her mind.

Maeva would rather not eat than have to eat an apple. Calief had always kept the apple away from Maeva, but now the man was doing the opposite.

Maeva looked down. She could see Reyka's leg kicking Calief's. Calief returned Reyka's sweet joke.

"I'm sorry Maeva, I didn't know you didn't like apples," Reyka said with a sad expression on her face.

Reyka couldn't possibly not know, because at that time Reyka had seen her other siblings forcing Maeva to eat apples. Reyka must have done it on purpose.

"No need to apologize, Reyka. You don't know, so what can I do?"

Calief took one of the apples, cut it into big pieces and fed it to Maeva.

"What are you doing?" asked Maeva.

"Maeva, it's not good to refuse gifts from people who have tried to visit you. Even if you don't like it, you have to eat it. It's good for your health," Calief said, trying to force the apple into Maeva's mouth.

Maeva's mouth opened as Calief continued to force it. Maeva was forced to chew and swallow the apple. Maeva didn't like it, but that meant nothing to her compared to the fake attention Calief was giving her.

"Brother Calief, I need to talk to you about my studies, can we talk alone outside?"

Reyka hugged Calief's arm. Calief nodded and then spoke to Maeva.

"Reyka wants to talk about her lectures as usual, I'll stay a little longer, okay? You three take care of Maeva! If anything happens to her, I won't hesitate to kill you!"

In the past, Maeva had been very happy to receive such attention. But now, her expression was blank.

The three Calief brothers nodded.

Calief kissed Maeva on the forehead before he left.

After Calief left, the Calief brothers immediately moved away from Maeva, covering their noses.

"So disgusting!"

"You stink!"

"Your appearance makes me want to throw up! It's a good thing we have Reyka to look up to, so we won't be tormented by your appearance."

Indeed, the hospital clothes Maeva was wearing were stained with blood.

"Just leave," Maeva snapped.

The three people did want to leave. It was good that they did. Maeva went out to find out what Calief was talking about with Reyka.

Maeva wandered through the corridor but didn't find either of them. When Maeva went to the toilet, her footsteps stopped. Her heart was beating very fast and her breathing was labored.

Unintelligible voices came from a stall. Maeva recognized the voice. They were the voices of Calief and Reyka.
