Chapter 5
After I went home, I prepared a copy of my divorce agreement and started to pack my things.
Aaron was laughing when he walked in with Kaitlyn. He seemed to be in a very good mood. However, when they saw me, both of their faces fell.
Aaron’s attitude was really cold. “Have you finally learned your lesson? Now, go apologize to Kaitlyn. I’ll only forgive you if she forgives you. Oh right, you should also transfer your assets to her as a present for her child.”
I ignored him as I continued to pack.
“Hey!” Aaron slapped my shoulder from the back. “Do you hear me?”
“I did.”
“Then aren’t you going to do what I said?”
I only replied, “Let’s get a divorce.”
Aaron looked as though he had heard a joke. He laughed and repeated, “Divorce? Do you know what you’re saying?”
I stared intently at him and did not back down. “Since the person you love is Kaitlyn, you should marry her.”
“Ah, it seems like you’ve not realized what you’ve done wrong yesterday. Firstly, you were cursing Kaitlyn, so you should take responsibility for her fainting. Secondly, you’re her older sister, you should help and support your younger sister. It’s completely reasonable for me to ask you to donate your blood to her.”
I was extremely furious as I barked a laugh. “I didn’t agree to that. What you did was illegal. It was intentional harm.”
“You’re such a selfish woman. No one else would love you in this world apart from me. I won’t divorce you. You can let this idea go.”
Kaitlyn grabbed onto Aaron’s arm and said coyly, “Aaron, I’m thirsty!”
“Alright, let me pour you a glass of water. Be good and stay here, dear Kaitlyn.”
We were left alone in the room. Kaitlyn cocked her head and sneered, “How do you feel seeing Aaron only treating me well? In the past, you took away all of my father’s love, now I’m taking Aaron’s love away. It’s very fair.”
“I have money and status, and I’m Aaron’s wife, so our child won’t be illegitimate. It’s not too bad.”
The statement hurt Kaitlyn. Her expression darkened. She slowly walked toward me.
I sneered, “Why? Are you going to hit me here?”
I did not expect Kaitlyn to grab my hand and fall backward. She slammed herself into the glass coffee table. With a loud bang, the glass shattered into a million pieces. Kaitlyn was lying in a pool of her own blood.
“Elena, what did you do?” I heard Aaron’s roar from the door.
After the ambulance arrived, Aaron forced me to go to the hospital with him. “If something happens to Kaitlyn, I’ll make sure you’ll pay for it with your life.”
Aaron signed one document after another. I sneaked the divorce agreement in between the stack of papers, and Aaron signed it without sparing another glance.
The nurse said, “The patient lost too much blood. She’ll need a blood transfusion.”
Aaron forcefully pushed me forward. “You can take her blood.”
The nurse recalled that I had recently donated blood. She hesitated, “We already withdrew about 400 ml of blood from her yesterday. If we are taking more, it might be bad for her health.”
“Just do it!” Aaron sounded determined.
Everyone started to get closer to me. I looked at the distance and hoped that Andrew would make it here on time.
Just when these people were about to catch me, someone shouted, “Stop!” They all stopped.
Andrew walked over with a dozen bodyguards dressed in all black behind him.
Under Aaron’s shocked gaze, Andrew shielded me with his body.
“Elena, if you don’t save Kaitlyn this time, I will divorce you.”
I laughed. I took out the divorce agreement and waved it in front of him. “We’re already divorced.”
