Chapter 2
"Need not."
Alexander refused first.
"She's leaving, and none of us are happy."
I nodded.
The four people in front of them looked more like a family of three.
"You're right, so..."
"Alexander, let's get a divorce."
As soon as he finished speaking, the surroundings suddenly became quiet.
Alexander's frown deepened.
"Elena, what the hell is wrong with you today?"
"Because I took the two kids to eat ice cream, or because I was taking them out to eat?" Alexander laughed in anger.
An extremely forbearing look.
Leo tilted his head and thought for a while, then suddenly his eyes lit up.
"Dad and Mom are divorced, so can I marry Aunt Isabella?"
The two cheered.
"Get a divorce quickly, get a divorce quickly, I want Aunt Isabella to be my new mother!"
Over the past eight years, I have become accustomed to Alexander's indifference.
But the attitudes of the two children deeply hurt my heart.
Perhaps sensing that something was wrong with me, Isabella gently held my hand.
"Sister, don't be sad, I don't mean anything else."
"I just finally returned home and wanted to catch up with Alexander. We are just friends, and I never thought of taking your family away..."
I pushed Isabella away without leaving a trace.
There was no expression on his face.
"You don't have to rob."
"Because Mrs. Anderson's position was originally yours."
Seven years ago.
Drunk Alexander fell into my arms and called out Isabella's name.
Only then did I understand.
The reason why Alexander, the heir of the Wealthy Anderson Family, is willing to marry me.
Just because I look a bit like my cousin.
In the year when they were most in love, Isabella resolutely gave up everything and went abroad.
She became an outlier in the family, but also became Alexander's first love.
Alexander could not resent his parents for bringing him power and wealth.
Nor can we blame Isabella for pursuing freedom and a better future.
So, he vented all his resentment on me.
Being of noble birth, he disdained quarrels.
Only respond to this marriage with endless indifference and criticism.
I have cried in the middle of the night countless times and fallen into self-doubt countless times.
But when I really made up my mind to divorce, I found out I was pregnant.
The doctor said they were twins, a boy and a girl.
If the fetus is overdeveloped, forced abortion may lead to lifelong infertility.
My parents and relatives came one after another to persuade me.
They said that people with Alexander's family background.
He doesn't gamble, visit prostitutes, or cheat on his wife, and he is already a good man among thousands.
They said that this marriage was hard-won and it taught me to consider the overall situation.
My parents-in-law also said that as long as I gave birth to a child, The Rossi Family would be able to have no worries about food and clothing for generations.
Everyone advised me to be patient.
For the children, for The Rossi Family, for mom and dad.
This patience lasted for seven years.
For seven years, my two children have been my only support.
But now, they all stood on Isabella's side.
It seems that all my persistence is meaningless.
Since this is the case, it is better to let go calmly and fulfill each other.
I took out the divorce agreement that I had hidden under the closet for seven years and handed it to Alexander.
"Sign it. LeoSophia will be yours."
"It's up to you who you want to be their mother."
Alexander stared at me for a long time, with the corners of his mouth moving unnaturally.
This is his angry expression.
Sure enough, the next second.
He tore up the divorce agreement in his hand.
He sneered: “Elena, I think you are really crazy.”
"What qualifications do you have to ask for a divorce from me?"
Chapter 3
I've long been accustomed to Alexander's contempt.
He turned around and closed the door, ignoring the angry look behind him.
I must get a divorce.
Being a coward for thirty years.
I also want to see the outside world like Isabella.
After Alexander left, I drove to the law firm.
A new divorce agreement was drafted.
I was delayed for some time on the way, so when I came back, I bought myself an ice cream.
The sweet taste spreads in the mouth.
My whole mood also improved.
Even after seeing LeoSophia make a mess in the room.
It didn't affect my good mood at all.
But the two children were unhappy.
Leo looked at me angrily, "Bad mother, you cheated!"
Sophia followed closely and shouted, "I want ice cream too!"
I swallowed the last bite with an indifferent expression.
"If you want to eat, let your new mother buy it for you."
LeoSophia paused, stamped her feet in anger, and then burst into tears.
"You're a private bad mother, I hate you!"
"Give me back my ice cream, or I will never forgive you!"
As they spoke, they both spit at me.
Their ferocious appearance is completely different from the two well-behaved and cute little kids in my memory.
I suddenly felt extremely ironic.
I thought that by sacrificing myself I could allow my two children to grow up healthy and happy.
But forgot.
How can a family that does not respect its mother raise children who respect their mother?
Alexander's contempt and indifference.
The child that I risked my life to give birth to has become a sharp knife that stabs me.
I sighed softly.
Return to the room and pack your luggage.
When I walked into the bedroom, I saw that all my clothes and bags were covered with bright red paint.
Leo stepped viciously on my photo.
"Bad mom, I hate you!"
Looking at the ferocious villain.
I didn't feel any sadness in my heart.
It seems that all emotions have been exhausted in the long negotiations.
He sighed and left alone.
As I reached the stairs, I felt a push from behind me.
I fell down uncontrollably, blood gushing out.
When I raised my head tremblingly.
What he saw was LeoSophia's provocative look.
"You deserve it, for not giving me ice cream."
Sophia was holding a vase in her hand, like a demon from hell.
"Mom, why aren't you dead? If you were dead, Aunt Isabella could be our new mother."
As he spoke, the vase fell and exploded beside me.
The loud noise finally made Alexander walk out of the study.
He frowned as he looked at the mess on the ground, and finally his gaze fell on me who was covered in blood.
"Elena, what are you doing again?"
Before I could answer, LeoSophia suddenly cried and threw herself into Alexander's arms.
"Dad, Mom is bad. She doesn't let us eat ice cream and even beats us."
"We were scared and wanted to hide, but she fell down by herself..."
“Elena!”
Alexander was completely furious.
"What do you want to do?"
"LeoSophia is your own flesh and blood. You hurt two innocent children just to compete with Isabella for her favor. Are you still a human being?"
"You want a divorce, right? Fine, let's get a divorce now. You are not worthy of being the mother of my child!"
Alexander hugged LeoSophia in anger.
He threw the document at hand into my face.
I clenched my fists silently.
Chapter 4
During our eight years of marriage, Alexander reminded me of this all the time.
I am nothing in this family.
But the inferiority complex in my heart makes me choose to deceive myself.
Now, I understand.
A person who doesn’t love me, an unhappy home.
It doesn't matter if you don't want it.
I staggered to my feet and tried to take out the divorce agreement from my bag.
Suddenly, his body couldn't hold up and fell down.
When I woke up again, the ward was full of people.
Isabella looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"Sister, it's all my fault. I didn't know my existence would have such a big impact on you."
"I have already taught LeoSophia a lesson, and they promised to apologize to you."
"When you get better, I will leave and never come back!"
Hearing this, the father and his two sons all looked at me with resentment.
Isabella glared at Alexander and motioned for him to get out.
The two children hung their heads and said sorry.
I was just about to speak.
They suddenly laughed evilly.
Leo threw the caterpillar in his hand at my face and screamed.
"Lululu, if it wasn't for Aunt Isabella to marry me, who would apologize to you?"
"You don't know, but Dad really likes Aunt Isabella."
"When Aunt Isabella got tired from walking, Daddy would just carry her on his back. When Aunt Isabella wanted to eat cake, Daddy would run all over town to buy it for her."
"Now she's going to be our new mother, just wait and get lost!"
After that, the two of them ran back to Isabella with their tongues sticking out.
I smacked the caterpillar to death with a cup.
But my heart was burning with pain.
While he was lost in thought, the two parents pushed the door open.
Mr. & Mrs. Anderson exchanged a few pleasantries.
In both words and deeds, they advised me to be more sensible and not bring shame to The Anderson Family.
My parents nodded and agreed.
As soon as the man left, he turned around and slapped me.
"You are useless. You couldn't keep Alexander's heart after eight years of marriage. Isabella can coax him away with just a beckoning of her fingers. What use are you to?"
The more my mother spoke, the angrier she became.
He picked up the feather duster on the table and hit me with it.
When it happened for the fourth time, I couldn't bear it anymore and grabbed her hand.
"You've gotten enough benefits from me over the years. It's time to stop."
Mom sneered twice.
"I don't care what you plan to do, just remember one thing."
"If you dare to divorce, we will publish an announcement in the newspaper to sever our family ties with you. We, The Rossi Family, cannot afford to lose this person!"
The two men walked away angrily.
Only Alexander was left, staring at me quietly at the door.
His warm palm stroked across my swollen cheek.
The tone was calm, without any trace of emotion.
"Why bother?"
"With these two children here, no matter who I think of, you will always be Mrs. Anderson."
"I am not."
I turned sideways, silently avoiding Alexander's touch.
I am a tool used by The Rossi Family to gain benefits, and a reproductive machine for The Anderson Family.
She is a nanny in the eyes of outsiders and a burden in the eyes of her family.
No matter what I do, I can never satisfy everyone.
I have endured this in silence for thirty years.
I'm done.
I looked calmly into Alexander's eyes.
He said word by word: "I want a divorce."
Alexander's face suddenly fell and he returned to his usual indifference.
He only said this at the moment he slammed the door and left.
"You don't know how to appreciate it."
Isabella then moved to The Anderson Family to live with Alexander in the name of helping to take care of the children.
