The Web of Deceit

Michael, as Rita's second husband, poured his heart and soul into caring for her and her family. He treated Rita's son as if he were his own and took care of her mother just like his own. However, in the eyes of Rita and her mother-in-law, Deanna, he was nothing more than a good-for-nothing man interested only in their family's wealth. Deanna had fallen deeply into a fraudulent health scheme that promised longevity, which indirectly led to her grandson Ethan getting into a car accident. Michael desperately tried to save him, only to find out that Deanna had already transferred the family's money to the scam company. In the end, Ethan passed away. Yet, Deanna remained unapologetic and obstinate, and along with Rita, she accused Michael of being the real fraud, claiming everything had been orchestrated by him. It was only when they saw Ethan lying cold on the operating table and the scammers brought to justice that they were overwhelmed by deep, irreversible regret.
