Leah had been targeted by her ex-husband, Isaiah, and in the pouring rain she fled for her life and mistakenly got into Evan's car, where they ended up sleeping together. Desperate for a way out, she took her half-sister's place and married Evan, who was rumored to be blind and worthless. She proceeded carefully after the wedding, only to realize Evan was far more than he seemed. He had faked his blindness and bided his time for years while secretly building a business empire. They joined forces to crush the family infighting and uncovered the truth behind her father's company's fall. Having weathered betrayal and near death, Leah and Evan moved from a marriage of convenience to genuine love, and they later welcomed a daughter and exchanged vows at a seaside wedding that pledged the rest of their lives to each other.
