When Good Apples Go Bad

A husband and wife ran a fruit shop. One day, a wealthy businesswoman passing by kindly intervened to save their elderly father from an accident. This act of goodwill forged a bond between them, and the businesswoman began frequently supporting their shop, even contracting their fruit supply for her supermarket chain. Over time, the couple’s fortunes improved. Later, burdened by debts, the couple decided to sell their shop. Upon learning this, the businesswoman discreetly arranged for her secretary to take over the business to help them settle their loans. However, the couple falsely accused her of using counterfeit money during the transaction and continued to make increasingly unreasonable demands, souring the businesswoman’s goodwill. The final blow came when the secretary uncovered that the couple had been supplying substandard products to the supermarket chain. This malpractice led to health violations, resulting in the temporary shutdown of the businesswoman’s supermarket. Refusing to tolerate further exploitation, the businesswoman severed ties with them.
